Chapter 9

 

The rest of the trip passed without incident. Syaoran found that when he returned home, the Storm card was waiting.

However, this one was easily dispatched with a few of his ofudas, so he captured it easily. Then, the Snow card followed.

Snow lost to Storm…

 

It was then that Kero-chan called him to announce something of a discrepancy. His card set had *forty* cards, not twenty like he had assumed.

“Was Clow biased against females?”

A shrug was his answer. “I don't know. But be careful. They'll start coming thick and fast now, because you must capture all of them before Sakura captures Firey and Earthy, the last two of her set.”

“Hai.”

 

Sure enough, that afternoon, Syaoran ran across the Rain card, the Mist card, the Cloud card, waiting for him…

However, these did not just sit around to be caught. They fled as soon as they caught sight of him.

Syaoran sighed. This was not good….

“Snow Card! Create a barrier of Snow!'

That trapped Rain and Cloud, but Mist managed to escape through the barrier. The cloud laughed, shooting off again.

Syaoran glared as he wrote his name on the two cards he had captured. “I'll get you-! Come back here!”

However, unlike Sakura, he couldn't fly, so…

There had to be another way. Wait a minute…

“Loop card! Create a loop of time space and do not allow the Mist card to escape!” Red lines formed a loop around the Mist card.

Seeing it trapped, the card grumpily resumed card form.

Syaoran caught it and wrote his name down. Yes it looked like the cards were definitely upping the ante. Well, he wouldn't lose!

That night, as he showered, he noticed that the Tentacle card was now much stronger than it had been when he had initially captured it. Interesting…

“Are you using my magic to get stronger?”

The beast seemed to nod.

“Ah…” Syaoran lay down on his bed, nude, and spread his legs, allowing the card better access. “I see how it is. Are there any other cards around here?”

The card nodded again.

“Oh? Watching right now?”

Another nod.

Syaoran smirked. “Then let's give it a good show, shall we?”

 

The Sleep card moaned as it watched the tentacle card pleasuring Syaoran. Screw capture, it needed to get laid!

The pixie zipped out of hiding, not caring as four tentacles shot upwards of the main mass and grabbed it's arms and legs. Syaoran was kind enough to allow a few orgasms before Sleep turned into a card.

Another one down…

He dreamed of the winged person again that night.

Return card, maybe?

 

The day after that, Syaoran was walking home with Yukito after school when what looked like a little girl in pink ran ahead, but each of her jumps cracked the sidewalk! Yukito gaped in shock.

“Syaoran-chan, did you see that?”

“H-hai.”

“Let's chase after her!”

Oh, it was most definitely a Clow Card, but not one that he recognized. It did not matter… Syaoran and Yukito ran after her, but she was surprisingly fast - so fast that Syaoran discreetly activated Dash just so they could keep up!

They chased her to the edge of a cliff.

“Please stop.” Yukito told the girl. In return, Power threw him off…

“Yukito-san!” Syaoran cried. “Feng Hua Shourai!”

The winds caught Yukito and he landed fifteen feet down, unhurt. Syaoran turned to face Power, who stuck out her tongue at him.

“I won't let you get away with this!”

Power jumped off the cliff. Against his better judgment, Syaoran followed, having used the same spell on Yukito earlier. He landed safely…

Only to find that he was trapped…

 

Power skipped off merrily. Syaoran gulped, staring at this new foe. It was another card he didn't recognize. A set of twenty cards inside a set of twenty cards, and he'd only known about the first twenty. What in Clow's name was this?

Shot smirked. This would be a cinch!

Create immediately went to work. The sun set in two seconds as the moon came out. Yukito walked over to Syaoran…

Only to sprout bunny ears and a tail!

“Yukito-san!”

Yukito then shrank until he had turned into a bunny.

“What's going on here?”

Syaoran received no answer, and as Shot attacked, he was too busy dodging the blasts to talk. * Oh I wish I had a Shield card like Sakura does… *

Unfortunately, he didn't. He also lacked the Mirror card, to reflect attacks.

What to do?

 

Even Erase would have been good. Syaoran fell heavily as Shot whizzed overhead. He couldn't dodge the next blow, as they just kept getting faster and faster! With a dull thud, he crashed into a tree.

Shot stopped abruptly.

Is he dead?

Create, being a book, couldn't talk…

Shot anxiously hovered next to Syaoran. He couldn't be dead, could he? That would be terrible!

Oh no! What to do? What to do? The card began panicking.

It was here that Yue took over Yukito's body. For some reason, he felt fondness for the boy. Maybe it was because Yukito truly loved him romantically, deep in his heart, but he wouldn't admit it while Syaoran was still a child.

Once Syaoran wasn't a child anymore, though… that was different.

Yue carried Syaoran back to Yukito's house, blocked his memories, and then let Yukito take control.

When Syaoran woke up the next morning, Create, Power, and Shot sat neatly on his bed. He couldn't remember for the life of him what had happened though…

But the tentacle card had sensed, not seen, and he inferred that Yukito had rescued him somehow.

Thank Clow…

 

“I wonder… does Yukito have magic too?”

The card sent a burst of feeling.

“I guess he does, but I don't sense anything except…” Syaoran blushed here. Shrugging, he put on his uniform and got ready for another day of school.

He kept an eye out for more Clow Cards.
