Chapter 2- The " Test " Begins

It's a brand new day. Fortunately for Sakura, it's a Saturday, so she doesn't have school. Today, she's with Madison at the mall so Madison can buy new fabrics for the costumes she will make for the future.

Madison: Sakura, are you alright? You've been a bit quiet.

Sakura: Hm? Oh, I was just a bit deep in thought.

Madison: What were you thinking about?

Sakura: I was just thinking about........................

Madison: You were thinking about Yue, weren't you?

Sakura: I guess I was. After what you said the other day, I've been thinking about him a lot.

Madison: As I said before, you never know.

Sakura: Last night Kero told me about these other cards called the Sky Cards. I don't know when I'm going to encounter them, but all I know is that they're stronger than the Star Cards.

Madison: Let's concentrate on the fabrics. You seem to have a lot on your mind.

Sakura: You're right. I'm sorry.

Madison: It's alright. I sometimes space out, too.

Sakura: So what kind of fabrics are you looking for?

Madison: I'm looking for anything in blue and/or pink. Those two colors are cool!

Sakura: You got a point there, Madison.

Soon enough, they were finished and went their separate ways home. When Sakura reached her house, it was almost nighttime. Her dad and brother weren't home, so she went upstairs to her room. She opened the door and found Kero watching t.v.

Sakura: Hey, Kero! I'm back!

Kero: Hi, Sakura!

Sakura: Kero, are you hyper?

Kero: Um, yes! A little bit!

Sakura: You should calm down.

Kero: All right! All right!! I'll try! I've had way too much sugar.

Sakura: Let's hope you try to calm down, because I know how you are when you're hyper. You're mostly zooming around my room too much when that happens.

After Kero calmed down (which was 10 minutes later), he sensed something at 7:00 p.m.

Kero: Sakura, I sense something. Don't you?

Sakura: Yeah. Let's go see what it is.

Sakura used the Fly card to grow wings and flew out of the window to King Penguin Park. When she and Cerberus reached the park, they looked around for anyone. They saw nobody, but an unknown voice spoke.

?: Well, well, well. If it isn't the card mistress, Sakura.

Sakura: Who are you?!

?: I am Kanu, and I am going to test you to see if you are worthy of capturing the sacred and rare Sky Cards.

Sakura: (thinking) Yue, I need your help. I don't think I can do this alone with Kero.

A few seconds later, Yue had arrived, and had landed right behind Sakura.

Sakura: (thinking) Thank you, Yue. I wish I could tell you this, but, I can't. I'm scared of being rejected. I can only think what I really want to say to you. I love you, Yue. More than anything else in this world.

Kanu: Now that both of your guardians are here, let's start the battle! We will start with the cards first. Whichever card I choose, you choose the same one. Whichever card is left standing, the owner of the card gets 2 juncts. (juncts are like magic points) Now...... let the battle begin!

Kanu had started by calling on the Rain card. Sakura had sent out her Rain card as well. When both Rain cards were out of their card forms, they started ramming into each other. But, Sakura's Rain card was smarter. It sent a downpour onto Kanu's Rain card, but the water missed. Kanu's Rain card looked for the source of the water, and saw nothing. Sakura's Rain card rammed into the other Rain card and knocked it out. Sakura had won the first battle! The next card was the Shot. Unfortunately, Kanu won that battle. This went on and on until the original cards were done. The next cards were Light and Dark. The first of the two was Light. Kanu sent out his Light card and Sakura sent out her Light card. When she did, she sent her Light a telepathic message that no one could hear.

Sakura: (telepathically) Light card, do your best. I don't know what his card is capable of.

Light: (telepathically) Do not worry, Mistress. I have a plan. Trust me on this. Me, the Dark, and the elements are so loyal to you we'd even put our lives on the line.

Sakura: (telepathically) Thank you, Light. Let's show them what we're made of!

Sakura's Light card floated into the air as Kanu's Light card waited to see what was going to happen. But it was what Sakura's Light card did that was extraordinary. Her Light card made a huge ball of light and sent it to Kanu's Light card. This blinded Kanu's Light card for a short time, and when it was able to see, Sakura's Light card rammed into Kanu's and knocked it out. Sakura was in awe. She couldn't believe it! The next one was the Dark. Sakura sent out her Dark card and sent it a telepathic message, just as she did with Light. Dark was just as strong as her sister, Light, so she shouldn't have any problem.

Sakura: (telepathically) I know you can do this, Dark card. I remember when I tried to transform you and Light. But, I only needed Light at the time. Needless to say, I forgot that I had to transform you and Light together in order to use Light. Thanks for being here for me when I needed you.

Dark: (telepathically) That's no problem at all, Mistress. Me and my sister are stronger than the elements, when they're not together, that is. I am very confident I will win. I have a plan. You will see.

With that said, she created a sword and shield out of the darkness. Kanu's Dark card floated into the air and shot dark energy at Sakura's Dark card. Sakura's Dark card absorbed the energy with the shield and stabbed Kanu's Dark card in the chest. Kanu's Dark card wasn't bleeding, but it collapsed.

Kanu: The final set of cards we use are the elements. Now we will see who is stronger, agreed?

Sakura: Agreed.

Kanu: I will start with the................ Firey!

Sakura: (thinking) I remember when I was trying to capture the Firey. It was so hard! I had to combine both the Windy and Watery to capture it. I used the Firey to capture the Snow card. But, there's one problem: Is the Firey loyal to me? Does she want me to be her mistress?

Then, the Firey sent Sakura a telepathic note from its card form.

Firey: (telepathically) Sakura, you don't have to worry. I like you as my mistress.

Sakura: (telepathically) Really?

Firey: (telepathically) Really. The other elements think so, too. We care about you. We are in tune with what you feel. All of the cards, including myself, will be here to help you with anything. Believe in yourself and us, and you will be fine.

Sakura: (telepathically) Thank you, Firey. Are you ready to battle Kanu's Firey?

Firey: (telepathically) Yes!

Sakura's Firey came out of its card form and floated right in front of Kanu's Firey. Sakura's Firey floated right in front of Kanu's Firey and constricted it until it disappeared. The next card up was Windy. Both sorcerers sent out their Windy card and watched as both tried to beat the other. Fortunately for Sakura, she taught her Windy how to trick other cards. Her Windy made a wind blow from the side and attacked Kanu's Windy from behind. Unfortunately, Sakura lost the battles with Watery and Earthy. The card battling was done. Little did Sakura know, both of her guardians had to battle.

Kanu: Now that the card battles are done, our guardians have to fight.

Sakura: What!?!?!

Kanu: Both of our guardians have to battle. Since you have two guardians, I have two guardians as well. Kinu! Kitani! Show yourselves!

Cerberus: (whispering) Kinu.......

Yue: (whispering) Kitani.......

Out of the shadows two figures appeared. Kinu was a cougar with golden eagle wings and a silver chest plate. Kitani was a young woman with purple hair and robes. Her eye color was purpulish-blue.

Kanu: So, which one of your guardians is going to lose first? Hmmm................. Kinu! You're first!

Sakura: Cerberus!You can beat him!

Unknowingly, Cerberus didn't know that Kinu has the power over ice. But when he found out, he flew out of the way just as Kinu shot an ice blast at him.

Cerberus: (thinking) He has the power over ice?! Jesus christ! I have an idea! Maybe if I fly around so fast I'll create multiple copies of myself. Then, I'll fly up and shoot a powerful fire blast at him and tackle him to the ground. Maybe this plan will work.

Cerberus put his plan into action. He flew around so fast that Kinu didn't know where the real Cerberus was. Then, Cerberus shot a powerful fire blast at Kinu and tackled him to the ground. Kinu was unconscious. Meanwhile, Sakura was worried. Yue knew what she was worried about. She was worried for his well being. She didn't want him seriously injured.

Yue: (thinking) Don't worry, Sakura. I'll be fine.

Kanu: Kitani! It is now your turn!

Kitani had the power over water. Yue knew this, for he had researched Kitani and Kinu's powers, so he knew what to do.

Kitani: Get ready to die!

Kitani shot a huge blast of water at Yue but he freezed it just as it was going to hit him. Then, when Kitani was about to shoot another huge blast of water, Yue froze the water and Kitani! She fell to the ground and the ice around her broke. The test was over. Sakura had won. When everything was set and done, Kanu went over to Sakura and spoke.

Kanu: Now that the test is over, I now see that you are worthy of capturing the sacred Sky Cards. It will be difficult, but seeing that you passed the test, it should be fairly easy. I wish you all the best luck, you will need it.

When he finished, he walked into the darkness, leaving Sakura alone with Kero. (Yue had left right after the battle)

Sakura: Let's go home, Kero.

Kero: Finally! I can now play video games until I drop!

Sakura: I'm going to go to sleep. I'm so tired.

When they reached Sakura's house, they went upstairs to Sakura's room and did what they said they would do. Sakura went to bed and Kero played video games until he was tired. When Sakura drifted off to sleep, she had the same dream as before. Now she knew what the sorceress was wearing. The unknown sorceress was wearing royal blue robes and she had a hood over her head. Then the sorceress shot an energy ball not at Sakura, but the one who she's very close to: Yue. The ball hit him in the chest, and he was dead. Sakura woke up in a cold sweat, took a look around her, and went back to sleep. She didn't tell Kero the next day.
