Happily Edward After
Chapter 1
Spike awoke to look into the green eyes of a middle-aged man. He felt sore all over and his head ached horribly. What the hell is goin' on? He tried to lift his arms but felt too sluggish to do so.
"Good morning Mr. Spiegel, how are you feeling?" A man's voice chimed
"Who are you?" Spike frowned, “Don't tell me this heaven.” Spike looked around, “Nope, this must be hell.”
"I'm Dr. Kamigashi…and this is neither heaven nor hell Mr. Spiegel. Hum, everything seems fine; your friends should be here soon."
"What…?" Before Spike could finish the question he blacked out.

"Spike, Spike!" A familiar voice roused Spike
"Huh." Spike tried once more to lift his arms
"Hey, how ya feelin'?"
"Jet?" Spike opened one of his eyes and looked at Jet.
"So the dead has risen." Faye chuckled as she walked into the room. She gave Spike a warm smile and sat down.
Both Jet and Faye seemed to have aged since he last saw them. Spike looked to his right and found a mirror on the wall. He stared into it and found that he hadn't changed at all. This is definitely weird.
"What happened?" Spike asked
"I found you at the Syndicate's headquarters, you were barely alive so I took you to the hospital and got you put in stasis." Jet sighed, "You've got one hell of a bill to pay."
"Welcome to the club." Faye pulled out a cigarette
"Don't you know you're not supposed to smoke in hospitals?" Spike smiled
"Yeah, want one?"
"Sure." Faye placed the cigarette in his mouth and lit it for him, "So how long have I been out?"
"It's not like you were knocked unconscious, you've been in stasis for nine years. They finally were able to repair the damage that was done to…"
"Nine years!" The cigarette dropped form his mouth almost setting the sheets on fire. Spike quickly grabbed it and looked at his comrades in shock.
"Ready to go home?" Jet gave a crooked smile

Spike sat on ye ol' couch on the Bebop. Nine years, man. He wondered how much he missed. At least I didn't end up like Faye. Not knowing who I am and where I've come from. Spike sighed and pulled out a cigarette, slowly placing it in his lips and leaning back to stare at the ceiling.
"So how does it feel to be back?" Faye sat down next to Spike
"Didn't know I was even gone. Well…I thought I was dead"
"Well, time to get back in the game." Jet walked in and flipped on the computer screen and picture of a man came up. He looked young rugged and dangerous, "Name's Thomas Bates, he's one of the assassins for the Syndicate."
"The Syndicate? I thought I solved that problem." Spike frowned, the last thing he wanted to do was get involved with the Syndicate again, he just woke up.
"Yeah, as soon as you were "dead" a woman named Angela Riley took over. Not as bad as Vicious, but she's a real piece of work."
"How much is he worth?" Faye asked crossing her legs; this seemed like something she would be better at.
"2.5 million woolong." A wide grin crossed Spike's face as he read" Time to go to work."

Spike found himself on Earth, in a narrow and dark alley chasing Tom Bates. Damn this guy is fast! Spike jumped over a trash can and climbed over a wire fence. Just as he touched down Tom opened fire. Without thinking Spike rolled and ducked behind a trash can as Tom stopped firing and continued to run.
Tom ran as fast as he could, looking back every few seconds to see Spike gaining on him. Looking forward once more Tom realized he was in a head on collision with a motorcyclist. The biker made a sharp turn sliding sideways and slamming into the assassin, flipping him over the bike's end. The leather clad biker immediately jumped off the bike and motioned for the man to stand.
The biker was obviously a woman, but she didn't remove her helmet. Soon Tom was back on his feet with pistols out pointing at the biker. She swiftly kicked him in the face making him drop the guns. At that point Spike was thoroughly impressed and wondered if he was going to have to fight for this bounty. She then executed a spinning wheel kick across his face knocking him unconscious. The biker turned toward Spike looking through the glossy tinted visor.
"Bounty Hunter?" Spike asked smiling
The biker nodded and slowly removed her helmet. Her long red hair fell from the helmet and she shook her hair loose. Golden eyes met Spike's and she smiled sweetly with the memory of the seemingly immortal man.
"Ed?" Spike's breath was taken away She's beautiful!
Ed's hair fell to the middle of her back, but kept its spiky manner. Her face had matured and so had her body. Her chest wasn't too big or too small; just right for her learn tone body, and hour glass figure. Her black leather tank top had a chain that connected from the bottom of the front of the shirt to the leather pants that fell over leather boots. A leather arm band adorned each forearm and she wore black leather finger-less gloves much like Spikes"
"Hey Spike." Her voice was like spring water over rocks
"Long time no see." Spike replied nodding his head
"Chasin' this guy?" She pointed to the man on the ground behind her
"Yeah." Spike resumed his normal calm and cool exterior
"Well too bad, he's mine now."
I wish I were yours. What?! Get your head together Spike! “I don't think so Ed. You might have to fight me for him.”
"You sure you think you can take me?” Ed laughed, “I'm glad you're back. Last I heard, you were dead, it made me very sad." Her faced turned sad, and just as quickly as it had changed; it was a beaming smile again.
She turned around and took a pair of handcuffs from the pack on her bike and cuffed Bates.
With Bates captured and restrained, Ed spun around on her heels and leaped over her bike and wrapped her arms around Spike. Spike sighed and hugged her back. It had been a long time and he did miss the little hacker. And for some strange reason she felt especially good in his arms.
"Hey, where's Eien?"
"Oh, Eien's at home, but that guy looks heavy, could you give me a hand?"
"Sure, are you gonna give me a ride on that bike. I left my ship back at the docks where I started chasin' this jackass."
"Sure, hop on!" Rin laughed, “But hold on, it goes pretty fast.”
Spike heaved Tom on the back of the bike and had to cram himself right behind Ed. What a tight fit. He smiled. What a tight fit! C'mon Spike get a hold of yourself! But before he could reprimand himself any further Ed stepped on the gas and they were off.

Ed and Spike walked into a café' near the police station.
"Hungry? I'm buyin'" Ed smiled
“Starving, there's nothin' to eat on the Bebop…like always.” Spike shook his head
The pair entered the dinner and heard a cheerful greeting call out them.
"Hey Radical Red." The waitress smiled, "Who's your friend?"
"Just that, a friend." She squirmed her hand into Spike's and led him to a booth with the waitress following with a huge grin on her face.
They sat on opposite sides and Edward winked at Spike and held out her hand. He took the hint and slipped his hand in hers. He liked the smooth skin she hid under her gloves, warm and inviting. He found himself stopping his mind from wondering where else she might be warm and inviting.
"So what'll be Red?" The joyful waitress asked rocking back and forth on her heels.
"I'll take the usual, what about you Spike?" Ed looked his way
"Got a menu?" Spike cocked an eyebrow
"Be right back handsome." The woman walked off leaving Spike and Ed staring at each other. Spike took back his hand and smiled close to blushing. This is stupid, why am do I feel so weird around her?
"So you're a cowgirl now huh?" Spike said breaking the silence
"Yep, I make big woolong too." Ed nodded her head proudly
"Here's the menu." The waitress returned, "Where's that dog of yours Red?"
"At home, I was on a bit of a dangerous hunt and didn't want him getting hurt?"
"I'll take a burger and fries." Spike finally answered
"Sure honey. Be right back."
Spike looked to Edward and smiled with a confused look on his face "Red?"
"Yeah, what's up?” Edward smiled
"No, why do they call you red?"
"My red hair of course. Radical Red Ed."
"Hm, it fits."
"You look the same though, it's weird nine years have passed and you haven't changed at all."
"I got frozen after the incident with the Syndicate."
"Like Faye right?"
"Yeah." Spike couldn't help but notice that Ed had become more of an adult and not just in a physical sense. She had dropped her weird childish way of speaking and sounded more mature, "So, how old are you now?"
"Twenty, yep, the big two O." Rin nodded her head trying to think of something else to say
The waitress brought the food, a big banana split for Ed and burger and fries for Spike.
"Thanks Myra." Ed smiled
"Sure, you have a goodnight honey."
"Night?" Spike asked, “What time is it?”
"Yeah it's almost eight p.m." Ed shrugged
Spike began to eat quickly, shoving food in his mouth "I better hurry up. Jet's gonna be pissed that I didn't bring back anything. Oh, well, he can live with it." Spike shrugged
"You can't go!" Ed almost jumped over the table
"Why not?" Spike leaned back on the seat anticipating a pounce from the girl on the other side of the table
"You just got here! And you haven't even seen Eien yet."
"He'll be okay."
"And I want to show you my apartment. Please stay Spike. It's been so long." She gave Spike best puppy dog eyes attempt.
Ed's face looked so sad Spike just couldn't resist "Sure, one night. You know, you and Eien might want to come back to Bebop." Spike took a bite out of his burger.
"Maybe, if I had a reason to return." She gave a seductive smile that ran shivers down Spike's spine.
Ed popped a cherry in her mouth and began to suck on it. Spike swallowed and reverted his gaze to his food.

Back at the Bebop
"Where's Spike, he should be back by now!" Jet yelled
"Maybe he really did get killed this time.” Faye shrugged as she filed her nails, “He just recovered from stasis, he might be a little rusty."
"No, Spike's to stubborn to die. Where the hell is he?!"
"Maybe he's hurt."
"Will you quit talking like that?! He's just fine; in fact he's probably somewhere slacking off."

Edward's apartment was a two bedroom, one bathroom. The furniture, like her clothing was black leather. There were dark glass tables and vases, and a big screen TV in the front room which connected to the kitchen. She gave him the tour and in her bedroom they found Eien asleep next to her queen-size bed. And there on the bed sat the infamous laptop.
“C'mon, let me show you my balcony." Spike nodded and followed her out of the room into the front room and out on the balcony. As soon as they were out Edward wrapped her arms around Spike's mid section. Her head was just beneath his chin and the smell of cinnamon tingled in his nose. Spike couldn't help himself; he wrapped his arms around her and rubbed his cheek in her hair.
"Did you miss me Spike?" Ed asked in almost whisper
Surprised by the question he hesitated, "Uh yeah, I'm sure Jet and Faye miss you too."
Ed lifted her head up and looked into Spike's eyes, "Well just so that you know, I sure missed you." She lifted onto the tips of her toes and kissed his chin sweetly, " It's late I'm going to take a shower."
She walked out of the balcony, seductively switching her hips. Spike ran his hand through his hair. He really didn't know what to do. He hadn't found a woman that attractive since Julia. And there was something about Ed that reminded him of the blonde haired woman.
He had been in stasis for nine years and now there's a young beautiful red head waiting in the shower for him. Spike walked back into the apartment and almost stepped on Eien. Eien sniffed him and barked in recognition of an old friend.
"You just woke up too, huh?" Spike chuckled
Eien barked and Spike scratched him behind the ears.
"Should I go and see her?"
Eien cocked his head side ways as if saying "Huh?"
"She wants more that just friendship, I can tell that, but what should I do?"
Eien barked and ran to the bathroom door and then barked again. Spike nodded and slowly turned the knob on the door. For some reason I know she wants this just as much as I do.
