In The Middle of The Night II

It had been weeks since Spike helped Faye with her shoulder. What was a bloody gash was now a small scar. Faye left he door unlocked just so Spike wouldn't have to bother with it. Sometimes she'd lay awake but pretend to sleep just to wait for him to come and sit in the corner. It must have become unappealing to him because each week he came and visited her room fewer and fewer nights until he stopped coming completely.

Faye climbed into bed and pulled the covers over herself. She was wearing her regular night time attire; her short blue shorts and white tank top. She rolled onto her side so her back was facing her door. She looked at the dark metal wall and blinked when her eyes started seeing tiny neon spots. Closing her eyes she figured Spike wouldn't be coming tonight, so she was going to get some sleep and not worry about it.

Faye opened one eye and seen the shadow on the wall. Light poured through the open door and showed a tall lanky shadow inside of it. The door was closed and foot steps came nearer to the bed. Faye felt a weight on the side of the bed and nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt a hand at her waist. Gasping she turned over and sat up to see Spike's out line sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Spike?"

He didn't reply, he just laid down next to her and tried to wrap his arm around her waist.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing, lunkhead?!" She tried to take his hand away when she realized something.

Snore.

Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "Spike? Quit faking! I know you're awake!"

"Stop movin'," mumble, mumble, "just go to sleep, will ya?" Snore.

Faye faltered and looked down at him. He really was sleeping… Faye sighed and shook her head, "I doubt I'll be able to wake him up…" She slide down into a laying position with Spike's arm securely around her waist. She fell alseep wondering what he was going to say when they woke up.
