"Hey Faye! Open up!" yelled Spike from outside her bedroom door.
Faye growled, who did he think he was? "No! Go away!"
"C'mon Faye! I gotta spray your room for bugs!"
Her eyebrow twitched, was Spike that dense? "There are no bugs in my room!"
"Just lemme spray to make sure! I'm not letting your room be a breeding ground for them so they can kill us all just cause you're a stubborn bitch!"
Hearing him call her a bitch she growled and got up from her bed. She stomped over to her door and opened it up, "What did you call me?!" she hissed through clenched teeth.
Spike stood outside her door wearing a tank strapped to his back that had a sprayer hose hooked up to it. He looked rather goofy in a suit with bug spraying equipment on. His expression was passive; and than his eyes lit up when he seen her. "Geez Faye! That thing is huge!"
Faye went from angry to shocked, what was so huge? Feeling insecure she asked, "What? What's huge?"
"That must have been a big one! I'm definitely spraying your room! I'm not getting bit by that sucker!"
"What do you mean?" She asked almost frantically. She hadn't noticed anything that morning when she looked in the mirror. But then again, she had been pre-occupied by the scratch on her face and also too tired to really care. "Where is it?" she asked a little embarrassed.
"Right," Spike took her chin in his hand gently and turned her head slightly, then he poked her neck, "There."
Faye's eyes widened, that asshole left a mark! Faye turned glaring eyes onto him, "This is all your fault!" She pointed an angry finger at him, before she realized what she had said.
"Wha-do-ya mean 'MY fault?!'" he yelled. "I didn't bite you on the neck!"
'If you only knew…' Keeping her angry façade she pushed past him and stomped off to the bathroom to examine the mark he had left.
Spike stared after her, 'Crazy woman. I swear… Ever since that whole me going into her room thing she's been acting weird.' He thought. Sure she had been a little nicer but now she was irate and just not herself at all. Spike stepped into her room to begin spraying for the pests that had supposedly caused these strange marks that resembled hickies. He pondered the thought for a moment, "Hickies eh? Nah, those don't appear out of nowhere." He chuckled at the thought of- He shook his head. Thoughts like those were bad.

Faye grumbled, that man!!! This WAS all his fault! She looked in the mirror again at the mark he had left, "Anybody could tell that this was a hicky." She poked the tender spot on her neck. "Spike is a real dope! I'm going to tell Jet!" She paused listening to herself. She sounded like a child screaming "I'm going to tell my mommy on you!" She shook her head at herself, telling Jet wouldn't get her anywhere. She grabbed a washcloth from the cabinet. Turning the hot water handle she waited patiently for the cold water to turn hot so she could put the washcloth in it. She soaked the cloth in the hot water and than rung it out so she would just have a slightly wet, hot cloth. Placing it on her neck she pressed lightly than stopped applying pressure. She continued to apply pressure for a few moments until she became tired. Taking the cloth away to see how much of the mark was still there she winced, "This is going to be here for a while…" Sighing she dropped the cloth and left the bathroom to go back to her own room.
"What are you doing?!" Faye screamed from the doorframe.
"What's it look like I'm doing?"
"Spraying for bugs after I told you NOT to!" She yelled marching in.
"And I told you your room needed it! And by the looks of that bite it needs it more than any room on this ship!" He yelled spraying a corner with more chemicals for emphasis.
Faye grabbed the spray hose and tried to pull it out of his hands, "Stop spraying that horrid stuff in my room!"
He pulled the trigger that would release the foul smelling spray and it shot out into the air.
"Stop that!" Faye screeched pulling harder.
"You stop pulling that! You're making me waste it all on your room!" He yelled as he tried to keep from pulling the trigger. With Faye pulling on the opposite end and him pulling, his finger was hitting the switch uncontrollably. The spray kept seeping out until there was no more left in the tank. They stopped arguing and fighting when they both realized the greenish haze and thick stench that was in the room. Immediately Faye started coughing followed by Spike.
Cough, "Look what you did, Lunkhead!"
Wheeze, "What I did?" Cough, "You wouldn't stop pulling!"
"I told you not to spray it in the first place." Faye tried to sound angry as a wave of dizziness came over her. Feeling nauseous she crumpled to her knees, "I don't feel so well," she mumbled to herself.
Spike was going to retort but when he saw Faye fall to her knees he became worried, "Faye?" he stepped closer to her and knelt down. He was helping her up when he too became dizzy. 'We gotta get out of here. This stuff is going to kill us.' Picking up Faye he stood up on wobbly legs and began to stumble to the door that had shut on its own. Opening the door he stumbled out and fell with the sudden feeling of nausea. Faye grunted hitting the ground and gasped when Spike fell on her. But she was too dizzy to care and she had a feeling Spike was dealing with the same thing.

Jet had been walking down the hallway when he noticed a terrible smell and a green fog hanging around. He looked to see it fuming out of Faye's room and wondered it she was experimenting with perfumes or something. Growling he marched to her room holding his nose angrily.
"What the hell?" He bellowed. He stood in front of Spike and Faye sprawled out on the floor Spike on top of Faye. He closed his eyes, a smirk covering his face for just a second. "I always suspected it," he murmured to himself. Opening his eyes he frowned and yelled, "You two can't go around doing it where ever you want on this ship! We got a kid aboard and a dog! And my eyes can't take the sight of you two and your s-" he stopped when he realized they weren't moving. He hadn't noticed but Spike was wearing a bug-spraying tank on his back. He unlatched his fingers from his nose and sniffed at the air, "yuck!" he almost hurled. Putting two and two together he realized they weren't doing what he had thought they were. But instead they had probably gotten into a fight and managed to gas themselves to passing out, or maybe. Jet shook his head, 'nah, I don't think they could die from it.' Keeping the worry in the back of his head he kneeled down and grabbed Spike's arms, giving a good tug he began to pull him out of the hallway to a place where he could breath fresher air. Or as fresh as the air on the ship. He laid Spike on the ground and went back to get Faye. Kneeling over he picked her small body up, 'Hm, she's too thin,' he thought before bringing her to lay beside Spike in the make shift living room.
Standing up his back cracked and he said to himself, "I'm too old to be doing this stuff. Argh…" After seeing they were still breathing he pulled the tank from Spike's back. "Welp, better get to work." With that he walked away to go see if the chemicals were strong enough to kill a human.

Faye stirred, what a headache. Keeping her eyes closed she reached up to rub her temples, "It hurts," she mumbled childishly to herself. Noticing her bed was rather cold and hard she opened one eye. "What? The living room? How'd I get here?" Pausing she looked around, she was on the FLOOR! Growling she slammed her fist on the ground, "I bet this is Spike's fault also!"
"Not everything is my fault, ya know," Spike strolled in with a beer in hand.
She rolled over onto her stomach to look up at him with glaring eyes, "Everything's YOUR fault."
Spike sat on the couch, "I highly doubt that."
Faye scowled, "This IS your fault! You were spraying that disgusting stuff!"
He grinned sarcastically, "And you helped me."
Faye sighed and stood up, she was better than that. She winced; she had a headache and still felt the nauseous-ness from the bug spray.
"Oh yeah," he lounged, "Jet says you can't sleep in your room tonight."
Faye turned to look at him, "And why not?"
He took a gulp of his beer, "He says there's too much of the stuff in your room and he has to get in and get all the 'bad air' out."
Faye clenched her fists at her sides, "Why can't he do it tonight?!"
Spike shrugged and clicked the TV on with his foot lazily.
Faye stomped off to go find Jet and some aspirin.
* *
Faye stabbed a pepper with her chopstick almost breaking the thin piece of wood. Her eyebrow twitched slightly when Jet told her that was the only pair she'd get if she broke them.
"I hate you, I hate this stupid ship, I hate that damned bug spray, I hate…" Faye trailed off continuing to list all the things she hated.
Spike chewed and swallowed his peppers bitterly, "You shouldn't hate so much, all that negative energy is sure to come back to you." He shoveled more peppers into his mouth.
Faye's eyebrow twitched again her hand clamped down on the chopsticks, and as if what Spike said was true, before she released them they both snapped in half with a loud crack. Faye didn't even look to see the four pieces fall from her still shaking fist. Faye stood up slamming her hands on the table; she glared at Spike as everyone looked at her.
"Faye-Faye can have Ed's chopsticks!" the girl exclaimed happily holding out the chopsticks between her toes to Faye. Ed lifted her bowl to her face and began eating like an animal.
Faye shook her head, "That's ok Ed, I'm not hungry," and with that said she picked her plate up and dumped it on Spikes green, fluffy hair. She turned and walked away with a half satisfied look upon her face.
Spike stared after her, eyes wide, as two slimy peppers slid down his nose.
Jet looked in utter amusement at the scene. He almost started to laugh as Ein licked Spike. Spike pushed the short dog away and stood up to go get cleaned off. Ein just went back and started to eat the fallen pieces of peppers happily. Spike stocked off angrily, that woman was blaming him for everything!

Faye frowned, she needed something to wear to bed but Jet told her specifically not to go in her room for ANYTHING. She remembered the conversation and growled, "'Don't even open the door'," she mimicked. Faye could have screamed, she did not plan on sleeping in her new black vinyl shorts and small white tank top. Sighing she walked quietly to Jet's room, tapping on the door she asked, "You awake?"
"No," was the simple reply.
"Jet, I need some clothes."
"What do you mean? What happened to your clothes?"
"My bed clothes are in my room, YOU said I couldn't go in there."
She heard an exasperated sigh from the other end of the door. Then she heard thudding footsteps. Next a small click and the door opened, "Try these." he handed her a huge gray T-shirt and some black shorts that would surely not fit her. Taking them she threw a "thanks" over her shoulder and went to go change.
Tapping on the door Faye asked again, "You awake?"
Exasperated sigh, "What now?!"
"Do you have anything smaller?"
"No, ask Spike."
With that Faye left the clothes by his door and went in search of Spike.
Faye easily found him lounging on the couch, "Spike?"
Grumble, "What?"
"I need some clothes."
"You have clothes," he said rolling over with annoyance.
"I need clothes to sleep in."
"Wear what little you have on."
"I don't want to."
"Ask Jet, damnit."
"I already did, he referred me to you." She said leaning on the back of the couch getting angry.
Sighing Spike sat up, "Why do you always have to bug me?"
She smiled sweetly, "Cause I'm madly in love with you!" Faye shouted sarcastically falling over the couch to land behind him.
He looked over his shoulder from his sitting position to see Faye smirking up at him from her seemingly uncomfortable situation. Grimacing he sighed and stood up from the ugly yellow couch.
Faye watched Spike silently disappear into some other part of the ship, most likely his room. She frowned, this surely had to have been his entire fault, and so it was only proper that he at least give her something to wear to bed, right? Sitting up right on the couch she looked on as Spike reentered the living room with a bundle of crumpled clothing.
"Here," he tossed them at her.
She barely caught them fumbling to keep them grasped between her thin fingers. She glared up at him mumbling a "thanks" before getting up to go change.
Well, Spike's taste in clothing wasn't the best. We all knew that, so did Faye, but she shrugged and left the bathroom wearing the wrinkled maroon T-shirt that had many holes in it and what looked to be a faded mustard stain on it. Her eyebrow twitched noticing it, she knew the shirt had been cleaned, but Spike was really clumsy sometimes. She also noticed he found the oldest most faded junk clothing he had, but maybe it was just because they might have been smaller than some of his newer clothing. Taking more steps she wondered when the last time it was that he actually bought something new to wear, after all, he usually just wore that tattered suit. Walking down the hall she pulled on the drawstrings harder to tie them a little tighter. The faded blue sweat pants weren't fashionable but it was better than wearing her yellow suit to sleep. Sure it was comfortable for the daytime, but at night she needed a softer fabric, something that was warm and inviting in an innocent kind of way. Not the kind of invitation her vinyl suit offered. She entered the living area and stopped to look at the couch. She wasn't going to sleep on the little chair and she sure as hell wasn't going to sleep on the cold metal floor! She grumbled at the lanky figure stretched out on the length of the couch. Marching over she tapped a pale, slender finger on his chest.
Spike opened one eye too look at the person or thing tapping his chest annoyingly. He sighed loudly when he seen Faye standing above him with another accusing stare. "What did I do now?" He asked with boredom.
Faye frowned, "I'm sleeping on the couch."
"No, I'm sleeping on the couch." He stated as a matter of fact.
Faye shook her head violently, "I don't have anywhere else to sleep! The couch is mine," she exclaimed.
Spike shook his head, "I always sleep on the couch, sleep on the chair." He closed his eyes ready for sleep again.
"No! You got me kicked out of my room so I should at least get the couch for tonight!"
"No, you made me waste all of my spray on your room, its your own fault!" he yelled angered that she kept blaming him for everything. What was her problem today? He hadn't done anything but spray for bugs and now suddenly everything was his fault!
Faye lifted his arm and tried to pull him off of the couch but he was too heavy, "I told you not to spray it at all!" she said through gritted teeth.
Pulling his arm away he sat up swinging his legs over the edge of the couch, "Why can't you just go sleep somewhere else?!"
"Because I want the couch since I can't sleep in my bed!"
"What's going on in here?! There are people trying to sleep goddamnit!"
Faye and Spike both pointed to one another screaming in unison how neither would let the other sleep peacefully on the couch.
Jet growled, "You can both sleep on the couch! Either that or go sleep outside!"
Grumbling Faye and Spike glared at one another, "Fine! I get this side!" they screamed together taking opposite sides of the couch. Jet rubbed his eye tiredly and left to go back to his room saying that if he heard anymore from them he'd make them sleep on the docks.
