Chapter 4
Day Dreams
To all my wonderful reviewers thank you soooo much! And a BIG thanks to my beta Sara… who is so busy and working so hard on so many things, but still found time to beta this chapter… so (Sends internet cookies and many hugs her way)
** Ok standard Note: I don't own any part or any characters from InuYasha and Yu Yu Hakusho. I just borrow the characters to play with for a while, and then give them back, only slightly mentally damaged… (Swings broom at Youko to force him back in my closet) Not you! You have to stay and 'play' a little longer… hahahah ok on with the story…
Youko's lips moved down her neck slowly taking his time, his fangs grazing the soft skin as he smiled up into passion filled brown eyes. Her moans and the soft whimpering of his name resounded in his ears. Youko couldn't help himself as her body quivered and goose-bumps rose on her skin the further south his hands traveled.
This was the girl he'd let slip through his fingers so many years ago, and now she was here begging him for more, mewing his name. He would have her; never would he let something so precious slip away from him again. He smiled to himself as his mouth enveloped her left breast. And this was just round one; he would have her everyway he could and in the morning she'd be little more then a puddle of goo. After all, he is a fox spirit with a lot of time to make up for.
She jerked her body up towards his, her breasts rubbing slowly against his flat chest. Such a pleasant feeling ran through him that his whole body ached up, he lifted his head and he had to swallow a howl as he felt his very tail curl behind him. This vixen is teasing him.
HIM! Youko Kurama the great fox thief! But what's worse is that it was working; his body ached and felt like raw nerve. What had she done to him; thoughts and feelings he believed had disappeared with her were back full force.
Her small delicate hands wove their way through his silky moonlight colored hair to touch his ears. He remembered her fascination with his ears from long ago; she had so loved to rub them, and he would let her then due to its effect on his body. It was as if she was grabbing a different appendage altogether, and he had to bite his lip and fill is mouth with blood to keep himself in check. A good shake of his head sent her hands away from his ears; he'd have to tell her later what her touch did to him. But not now. Now she was his and he'd make sure she knew it.
Her now unoccupied hand clung to his back, her small and blunt nails cutting into his back slowly. Her eyes never broke contact with his, and in the minimal light her eyes became swirling pools of black only barely tinted with brown. These most beautiful eyes meet his molten gold eyes without any hint of fear of reservation, only certainty and love while his mouth moved along her body tasting, claiming every part of her.
His mouth moved passed her navel slowly moving to join his fingers already exploring her sweet treasures. Her calls, while becoming more demanding, became all the more passion filled. His lips were just inches above her, and she bucked her hips wanting for more. His thoughts only kept repeating, `pushy little vixen, don't worry; I'm no were near done,' Youko's smirk widened at her calls grow louder.
“Youko… Youko…. Youko! … YOUKO!”
However this is when everything goes wrong… as Kagome's, moaning withering tone changes to that of a more human Kurama…
`YOUKO!!… Youko!! Quit daydreaming!'
Youko jerked up and away from the wall he'd been leaning against, eyes first focusing on the still sleeping woman. Sighing, he ran a clawed hand through his hair. He honestly couldn't remember falling asleep or spacing out. In the back of their mind he could hear Kurama griping about horny kitsunes and hard-ons. The rest kind of faded out as Youko's rich honey eyes focused on the sleeping woman. She had starred in the dream, but he had called her Kagome. No, it hadn't been this girl. It had been a ghost from the past come to haunt him. This woman, not even in his wildest dream, (in which the earlier one never even came close to such) could she be Kagome… maybe if he had any kind of luck or favor with any god above she might be a reincarnation, but Youko doubted it. However, that little nagging voice in the back of his head, not Kurama, the one that whispered all of Youko's wishes and dreams, just kept bringing up that she had whispered his name.
Which brought Youko back to his beginning point of agitation: Just what the hell was going on? How could this girl have known his name? He kept raking his brain to think if anyone used it while he was in the room with her, but the answer was always no. So how could she know him? A while ago, Kurama tried to reason it out.
Even now that Kurama had finally gone back to sleep he could hear him, `Now really, Youko … you're not the only person with that name in the world. There could be thousands of people with that name. For all we know it could be her boyfriend's name and she was calling out for him.'
Yes and that last comment had gone over great; left Youko growling and envisioning ripping the head off some stupid human male. Shortly after that Kurama had gone silent and fell asleep…which was interrupted by Youko's little fantasy.
Huffing quietly, Youko sat down again back against the wall with the door. *Thump, thump*… The sound repeated like an uneven lullaby as a very confused and agitated kitsune thumped his tail repeatedly on the polish wood floor, his eyes never leaving the maiden sleeping soundly on the other side of the room. So set in concentration and deep thought, the sound that was disrupting the still and quiet of the night was going unnoticed by its own creator. Another thing Youko failed to notice was just how close dawn was. Light slowly was starting to radiate from the horizon. Reds and oranges were slowly working their way up the sky, and it wouldn't be long until Genkai woke, wanting explanations.
That too was perplexing Youko. What was he going to say?
Somehow he didn't think Genkai would buy a sudden euphoric experience of awaking in which the great Fox had learned how precious life was, and that every human was worth fighting for…. Yeah… she'll buy that when Hiei dressed in pink and asked for a hug.
Youko's ears twitched. Since when did the Youko have problems making up a lie…a story?
Oh, sure he remembered when he met her. Not this her, but Kagome almost 500 years ago. He still remembered how he had been almost unable to tell her a lie. In fact, he'd almost been driven to tell her the truth. And she in turn had never had a problem with it. The only thing she'd ever said against him was that stealing was wrong, and she'd only said that once. After that, she seemed to accept that stealing was just a part of who he was.
However, thinking back now, when he had left for that heist the last morning he had seen her, she did have a slightly disappointed and pissed look on her face. He had pushed it aside at the time, telling himself she'd be singing a different tune when he came back with newly stolen jewelry for her. He still had the pieces he had planed on giving her; they were kept in a special place in his hideout, separate from the rest of his treasures.
He didn't even remember why really he had kept them separate, only that he had. As if in some vain hope he would find her alive and well again someday, and would finally be able to give them to her. But that had been foolish; he knew she'd never come back. People didn't come back from the dead…well humans didn't anyway.
Even now listening to himself, Youko was a little angry with himself. What had been wrong with him, and how had this one human gotten to him so badly? What was it about her that had been so different and left such an impression? Even hundreds of years later he still hung on to her; still cared about her kit, still knew where her gifts were…what spell had she cast on him?
`It sounds like love Youko… not a spell, Love,' Kurama voice cut through his mind. He had been so lost in his thoughts, he hadn't even noticed that Kurama had never gone back to sleep; never noticed that he was listening to everything.
`You must be joking … or losing you mind … Youko Kurama does not fall in love, he doesn't even know what love is … and how could I have fallen in love with someone I only knew a little over a month,' Youko's own voice lacked any real certainty or conviction. Even to himself, it seemed like a hallow lie he was telling.
Youko's ears dropped and his eyes once again took in the woman across the room. His tail continued to thump, still unnoticed to him. And so lost in thought was he that he didn't notice the door to the room open or someone stepping closer, or even someone staring at him for a few minutes. That is until that person got sick of him being spaced out, and stepped on his tail… hard ….
“OOW!!”
Jumping up and whirling around in one movement Youko was fully prepared to rip off the head of whoever dared to step on his tail. That was until he saw Genkai. The old women was frowning, and giving him a hard look.
`Isn't this woman ever in a good mood?'
`Apparently not… now Youko what are we going to say'
Before Youko could say anything though Genkai swiftly turned and walked out of the room, not even pausing to make sure Youko was following, which of course he was.
They walked silently into the large main room of the temple; the same room Kurama had run into the night before, with the girl in his arms. Genkai sat without a word, but looked up at him and waited until he sat before she spoke.
“I'm a little worried… seeing this side of you out and about, then your behavior last night. What is this girl to you? Give me a good reason not to call Koenma, cause right now I see no reason to put up with the head-ache you're fixing to cause us all… You know how things work, and spirit world doesn't make exceptions often.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes while Youko tried to think phrasing what he wanted to say, which is what he'd been trying to think of all night. When he spoke, his voice was calm but strong and determined; the voice he used in battle.
“This girl, is special to me. She reminds me…of someone I knew long ago, and her spirit caught my attention. She didn't give up; I want to protect her…”
“I think the best way to protect her is to erase her memory and let her go…”
She paused and looked hard at Youko for a few minutes, her eyes unblinking. Then she closed her eyes took a deep breath and sighed. Opening her eyes she spoke calm,
“I won't tell spirit world, but I think you should figure out what you're going to tell her, do with her, and what she really means to you…”
Youko blinked and opened is mouth to say something but Genkai raised her hand,
“Please spare me… I know you're holding something back. That and I've never seen you space out before. You didn't even notice me, and your eyes were completely focused on that girl….”
