Chapter 1
The forest of mist lies on the outside of Konahagarue Village. This forest is used
for the jounin exams, but also this was the place of Uzumaki Naruto's last mission. Now
today none enter except for children on dares and those that intend to take the jounin
exams.
Just an hour ago the glaring red sun of summer disappeared behind the icy cold
mountains of the west. The mist of this forest is so immensely thick that nothing can be
seen. A long time ago when the mist didn't invade the forest, a person could see how
beautiful it was, this was then and this is now.
Earlier today out of pure stupidity a group of three ninja academy students enter
the forest on a dare. These three were named Dalo Lee, Uchiha Syoran, and Hyuga Hina.
Syoran was the spitting image of his father, the legendary anbu member Sasuske except
his hair was longer. Syoran has exceptional skills like previous members of his clan.
Hina was of the lesser clan, the daughter of Neji. She has a pretty face, long hair and
would someday be quite beautiful. Dalo, heck he looked like a young Rock Lee his
father, He has the same problem as his dad, he can't tap into his chakra.
The three friends walked side by side in the mist, Hina was in the m iddle and Dalo
and Syoran was on her sides.
"Guys should we be here?" questioned Hina.
"Kiran, dared us, if we didn't do it we would be thought of as chickens," Dalo said
defensively.
"Besides if we even met Naruto, he'll be the chicken here, my dad said so," Added
Syoran cooly.
"Yeah, but what if he isn't......."
"Don't worry we will protect you if anything happens." That is so comforting,
thought Hina sarcastically. The three held hands so they wouldn't get lost in the mist and
lose one another.
Noises were all around them coming from every thing and nothing. Hina's hands
both became chilled with sweat from the two boys. They continued their trek through the
forest, not know ing which they direction they are going in.
"Maybe, we should go back,"said Dalo. Out of the three he was the biggest
chicken. Although Dalo was the son of a taijutsu master, he was emotional and
physically unsure of him self.
Sounds those that were unordinary of the forest soon began and without a thought,
Syoran launched a shuriken from hi pouch into the mist towards the sounds. They heard a
quick thump, obviously a tree.
"Jumpy, Syoran,"said D alo mockingly.
"I'm not the one w anting to run from spirits that don't even exist,"Syoran said
bluntly.
Dalo didn't try to say anything else. Why say anything else, thought Dalo, he is
right. They continued walking and decided not to look for the shuriken. The mist grew
colder and colder, it grew foggier and foggier.
Their hearts were beating faster and faster with anxiety. Why did they venture
here into the forest, the very place where the legend that is Naruto disappeared in ? The
answer is simple pride, they knew that they would be in deep trouble when they got home
if they got home.
"So, how far into the forest do we have to go ?"asked Hina curiously. The forest
was a very big and confusing one.
"Atleast to the middle," Dalo said. Dalo was the one who accepted the dare but he
was the biggest cow ard out of the group. The middle why the middle, it was where
Kakashi fell and Naruto disappeared but more or less that is speculation.
They were no where near the middle yet and they have been in the forest for at
least three hours. Syoran could see a sparkle far into the distance. What is that ?, thought
Syoran, that is strange everyone has said that it is impossible to see light in this forest.
Syoran was the only person of the three to see that strange sparkling light.
"Hey guys, lets sing some songs to pass the time,"said Hina brightly.
"How bout no, besides real men don't sing,"said Dalo.
"You're not a real man so I guess it doesn't apply to you," said Syoran smartly.
Syoran maybe one of the best students Iruka has ever had, but Syoran is a smartass to
boot.
"You want some !!" W aving his unseen fist in the air.
"Anytime."
"Children enough."
"Sorry, mother."
"Sorry." They continued carefully farther and farther in the forest. The bickering
and mocking this was how it always was and this will be how it will always be. The light
grew brighter and brighter with each step and soon everybody in the group saw it.
Although nobody could make out what it was.
"What is that ?"asked Dalo.
"If we knew, we would tell you, now shut it," Syoran said.
"I'm sure that is the middle so lets just get to it and get out of this place, it maes
me nervous. I feel like we are being watched."
"Yeah same hear."
"So you are finally willing to learn how to be a shinobi , Dalo?"
"Syoran, I swear." Syoran realized they were being watched when he heard the
laughter.
How did they know, thought the follower. The follower sat high in a tree watching
them somehow although that was an impossible feat. The unknown person leapt silently
on to the ground, ever closer to the three. His hand crept to his side, pulling for his sword
attached to his sash, his other hand was placed on his sheath.
A voice behind him, that the follower did not hear creep up on him said, "W ait,
lets see what they do first .' The follower relaxed his hand.
The three thought they heard whispers but the just assumed they cricket chirpings .
They crept closer to the light, the light soon became unbearibly bright And to make
matters worse it chirped this noise so annoying, it outranked everything else they had
misgivings against. They walked in a daze slowly towards the light, they walked hands
unclasped oblivious of one another. The three acted as if dead. They were within feet of
it, if they took a step closer, they would have walked right into it. However that is when
something blocked their way.
These tw o were the ones tailing them, watching and with incredible speed they
just appeared. The three students attempted to push them, but the two simply smacked
them and they went flying into the dirt.
"Now what?" asked the one with the sw ord. The two were now visible both were
men. The swordsman was young with long black hair, a scar under his chin, a sword on
his side, sandals for shoes, and wore clothes that of a w andering swordsman.
"Simple, we take them to the edge of the forest towards the village," the second
man said adding a smile. This second man had spiky blonde hair, uncut from long days
of wandering. He wore an outfit similar to the first man. On his sides he had two
pouches of shurikens. This however had a scar on his chin and another on his cheek and
several more on his back.
"What about Kagome?"
"She'll be fine."
These two walked to the children. The first grabbed Hina, the second grabbed
Syoran and Dalo.
The first man is known to be as M yojin Yahiko, while the other is the missing nin
Uzumaki Naruto.
