Kamichuu!! is a cute girls being cute show, about a middle school girl who tells her friend one day at lunch that she's a goddess. She is not lying. She is a goddess of winds and storms. The series is beautifully animated and has lots of imagery of shintoism and its various spirits in otherwise inanimate objects. Shinto believes objects have souls, so there is technically no such thing as "inanimate". Fortunately, the new goddess is friends with a shrine maiden, who helps her establish rituals and worshippers and a side romance with a boy who is good at calligraphy. There are various easy quests in the real world and spirit world, a festival, meetings with the actual shrine's god, who is lazy, and meeting other gods of the area, which happens to be where battleship Yamato was originally constructed. The site is very scenic and based on the real world. It is a pretty show and easy to watch when you are feeling lazy and light hearted.
