‘Till Halloween by Yaoi Girl
Lavi had begun to ice the marble cake with the blue butter cream icing, albeit a bit of an icing mess on his fingers due to Allen’s rather erotically distracting moans floating through the duct work. Hopefully the neighbors didn’t hear him too…
Horrified at the thought of Mana hearing his son moaning Lavi’s name, the red head hurried and finished coating the cake with the blue, nervously scooping the yellow up with a spatula to put it in an icing decorating bag, again making a mess.
‘I can’t do this,’ Lavi thought as the icing bag hovered over the cake. ‘It’ll be a disaster.’ He then hung his head and placed his hands on the counter on either side of the cake, having placed the bag aside for now. ‘I have to wait till he’s done.’
After putting the icing back in the fridge and covering the slightly messy cake, Lavi headed down the hall to his room.
Big mistake.
“Nngh…Oh, god!” he heard the muffled moans through the bathroom door as he sat on his bed, staring with wide eyes at the door, his own excitement growing.
He couldn’t escape it. Couldn’t escape that voice, those moans!
With one last strangled sob, all was quiet. Lavi then released the breath in which he had been holding. Soon after, the toilet had been flushed and the taps turned on, Allen emerging with a beautifully flushed face and wide eyes as he stared at Lavi.
“Everything come out all right?” Lavi laughed sheepishly before he was smashed in the face with a pillow, compliments of Allen.
“It’s your fault!”
“And I was going to fix the problem, but no…” he continued laughing as Allen bashed him upside the head some more before he finally grabbed the offending object, quickly hauling it, along with the teen, down to the bed where Lavi pounced on him.
There Allen lay; face down on the bed with Lavi straddling his back.
“Not so big and bad now, are we?”
The silver haired teen then started squirming until he managed to turn himself over under Lavi’s weight, glaring playfully up at him as their hands laced together.
“So, what did you do while I was in there?”
“Other than worrying about you dad coming over here and maiming me for ‘raping’ you,” he smirked as Allen turned another shade of red.
“Was I really that loud?” he gasped.
Lavi nodded before continuing on. “I was trying to ice your birthday cake.”
“You made me a cake?!” he grinned, eyes sparkling like a child.
The red head laughed at the expression before rolling off the teen to lie next to him, their fingers still twined on one hand, even as Allen rolled onto his side to look at Lavi, his free arm folded beneath his head.
“What kind?”
“Marble. I didn’t know if you liked chocolate or vanilla. Or any other flavor for that matter.”
“Strawberry is my favorite flavor anything, for the record. But I’ll eat, or at least try any type of sweet out there!” he continued to grin. “Can I try the icing now?”
“You and your insatiable sweet tooth,” Lavi sighed as he sat up before crawling off the bed, beckoning for Allen to follow. “And, for the record, you still have a mess to clean up.” He then pointed his thumb in the direction of the closet.
The silver haired teen smiled as he and Lavi then walked down the hall. “For your record, I cleaned it up before I went home to take a shower.”
Green eyes glowered slightly at the comment, though it was currently aimed towards the bowl of leftover blue icing as he pulled it from the fridge.
“I thought you used the pre-made kind,” Allen pouted slightly. He at least knew what to expect from those flavors. But if Lavi made it, he was sure it was good.
“It’s my great-grandmother’s recipe, so as they say, it gets better with age, or in this case generation. As a matter of fact, I believe I’m the only male cook in my family,” he mused as he sat across from Allen who was now devouring the blue goop by the spoonful.
“OMG! So fucking delicious!” Allen managed between bites and savoring the flavor.
Lavi just laughed at him, reaching across the table and wiping some of the goo from the boy’s cheek before licking it off his own finger.
“Good thing there wasn’t that much left,” Lavi the said as he scooped up the now empty bowl and set it in the sink, running hot water in. “Otherwise you’d either be on a sugar high for days or you’d have a migraine within minutes.”
“When are you going to teach me?”
“Teach you what? We have more than one subject to school you on now,” he grinned cheekily as he pulled the cake out and the neglected bag of yellow icing, now steady enough to concentrate on his work. And in being preoccupied, he didn’t get to see the blush spread across Allen’s cheeks.
“How to cook.”
“Hmmmm…” was the only noise heard from Lavi at the moment as he was bent over the cake, professionally putting an edging on the top and bottom of the cake, tongue poking out the side of his mouth in concentration. Once he had finished and began to change the bag tips, he replied, “We’ll start this weekend.”
“And when are we starting my other lesson?” he then inquired as though he was uninterested, laughing hysterically as Lavi turned around rather quickly, squeezing some of the icing out and onto the floor in the process. In fact, he was very interested in when he was going to be taught some more. It was long past due!
“Anytime you’re ready,” he finally managed. “Other than today of course. You’re not legal yet.”
Lavi then turned back to his work of writing “Happy Birthday, Allen” across the cake while the younger of the two silently left the room to get something from his bag in the living room.
Luckily, Lavi had just finished writing on the cake, though still poised over it, examining his work until he noticed a bright flash off to his right.
“I hate having my picture taken!” Lavi groaned as he sat the bag down, facing Allen.
“You better get used to it with me around!” the silver haired teen smiled. “And the cake looks wonderful.”
“Glad you approve,” he said as Allen hugged him, returning the gesture as he gently rocked him back and forth. Allen practically melted into him. “What do you want to do now since you’re finally better?”
“First,” he said as he released Lavi and headed to a cabinet, opening it and pulling a small can out. “Miya needs to be fed.” And as if on cue, the little fur ball came running from somewhere down the hall, mewling up at the teen as he threw the can lid away. He then sat the can down next to her water dish and walked back over to his lover, twining their fingers together. “Now, we can go do something.”
“Like what though?”
“We could just go for a walk,” Allen shrugged.
“Sounds like a plan,” was the response. “But I need to change first.”
“Then can we go out for dinner?” Allen inquired as he followed the red head down the hall, unable to tear his eyes away from Lavi’s body as he pulled his shirt and sweats off.
“What are you gawking at? It’s not the first time you’ve seen me in my underwear. Unless you’re hoping I’ll show you the rest…” he trailed off suggestively.
Allen merely blushed and turned away. “So, can we?”
“I suppose so. What do you have in mind?”
“No clue. I haven’t been out here long enough to know what places are good and what ones are bad.”
“We’ll find someplace then,” Lavi said as he tugged a clean shirt over his head, having already pulled on a pair of clean dark blue jeans. “Now I just gotta brush my hair and get some shoes on.”
Allen nodded, waiting on the couch for Lavi to finish, smiling as the older boy reached his hand out some minutes later, hauling the smaller one up from the couch and heading towards the door, once Allen grabbed his bag of course.
But before they even got out the door, Lavi looked down at their twined hands. “Do you want us to look like a couple, or just like two guys out for a walk? I don’t care either way.”
“Well, you should care,” was the rather indignant response as Allen pouted slightly. “You’re the one that said we shouldn’t be afraid of the stereotypes and such. You should be proud to show everyone, without fear, that you have someone.”
“Cheeky bastard, aren’t ya? And you’re right,” he smiled as they headed out the door moments later, hand in hand.

The pair had gone to the small local park, where Allen had turned Lavi into his personal model, much to the red head’s dismay before they found a small restaurant to eat. Soon after, they returned home, satisfied. Allen even conned some people to take pictures of he and Lavi together, some not so innocent which stunned at least one of the people who took a few photos.
Now, with nothing else to do, they curled up on the couch together and watched TV until Allen started nodding off, only then did they go down the hall. That night, they slept comfortably in each others embrace.

Morning of Friday the 13th of April 2007.
Lavi didn’t bother waking Allen the next morning. He’d let him sleep in like usual when he had class. And so, his routine began.
Allen, of course, woke up hours later to an empty apartment, save for Miya and himself. And of course, he didn’t feel any different, any older. He still felt like Allen and was craving his lover’s attention and affection.
Letting his empty stomach lead him, he ended up in the kitchen, randomly opening and closing cabinets and the fridge, debating on whether or not to finish off the leftover yellow icing now or later. He decided later. It could be used for things if all went well tonight. So he settled for a bowl of cereal.
After finishing and rinsing his bowl out, he headed to the living room, watching TV with Miya curled up and asleep on his lap as he idly stroked her. He couldn’t be happier.
He was finally a ‘man’ so to speak. He now had more privileges, not that he needed them. Everything he needed was in the apartments right next to each other. He could now buy cigarettes, not that he smoked, and porn, not that he ever watched it or needed it. He was now ably legal to do adult like things with his new lover, which he was ready to learn.
Allen glanced at the VCR/DVD clock, which he had finally adjusted to the correct time, musing, ‘Two more hours until he gets home, so I should probably go ahead and pull something out for dinner.’
He felt bad for waking the comfortably sleeping kitten, but he lifted her and sat her on the cushion next to him before heading to the kitchen. He didn’t want Lavi to work too hard with dinner or anything else tonight. He wanted as much Lavi time as he could get. ‘I’m already such a pervert and we haven’t done anything but make out…’ he sighed with a blush.

The two hours had passed, but no sign of Lavi yet. And the silver haired teen was bored. And he was craving cake.
He stood outside, leaning against the railing and looking across the rooftops, occasionally glancing down if he spotted someone to see if it was Lavi. But no such luck.
Another hour passed and Allen had returned inside, clutching his cell phone in his hand, hoping that Lavi would call and tell him what was going on.
As he stared at his phone, he realized something with a horrific gasp. “It’s Friday the 13th! Something bad must’ve happened to him!”
Terrified, he quickly dialed Lavi’s phone.
“Yes, dear?” came the cheeky response a few rings later.
Allen sighed in relief. “I thought something bad happened to you! You were supposed to be home more than an hour ago!”
The red head laughed. “Sorry, mom. I just ran into an…old friend. We had a conversation, and now I’m on my way home.”
“Cake!”
Again Lavi laughed. “Yeah, yeah, you’ll get your damned cake.”
“I pulled some stuff out for dinner. Nothing big though.”
“Okay. I’ll start as soon as I get home. Get a hold of you dad though to see if he’s gonna want to eat dinner with us too.”
“I will. And please be careful on the way home!”
“Don’t worry. Friday the 13ths are always good luck days for me,” he lied, considering the fact that it wasn’t an old friend he had run into, but his ex, the one he used to love. And it was a rather harsh conversation that they had held. But usually, they were his lucky days. “I’ll see you in ten.”
“Okay, bye,” he said as he hit the end button and set his phone aside, leaning back into the couch.
And sure enough, within ten minutes, Lavi was home with an armful of Allen as the teen held onto him for dear life.
“I told you I’d be fine,” he said as the birthday boy released him and they headed to the kitchen where Lavi tossed his bag down before scooping the shorter teen up in his arms and slightly off the floor before kissing him. Allen simply wrapped his arms around Lavi’s neck, his enthusiasm showing through his desperate kiss.
Within seconds, Lavi had Allen sitting on a nearby counter top, running his hands up and down Allen’s back beneath his shirt while Allen tried to press himself closer to Lavi.
“Not until later,” the red head finally breathed, smiling as he looked into pleading pastel hues as his hands came to rest on the silver haired teen’s hips. “What did your dad say about dinner?”
“He won’t be home in time for dinner unless we eat late, but he would definitely love some cake,” he relied as he ran a hand through Lavi’s soft red locks while the other arm was still draped over his shoulder. “You ready to start teaching me how to cook?”
Lavi nodded as he slid Allen off the counter. He then eyed what was pulled out. From there, they went to work.

Dinner was only slightly darker than it should be, or at least certain things were, but they were edible.
They sat down and ate together, setting some aside for Mana, Lavi washing dishes after they were finished, Allen perched on the counter next to him, swinging his legs back and forth as they talked.
Once Lavi was done with dishes, he ordered Allen to stay put while he went to his room, fishing around in the dark corner of his closet for his birthday gift. Moments later, he returned to stand between the boy’s legs, who was still sitting on the counter, handing him the bag.
It only took a glance at the name on the bag to realize what Lavi had gotten for him, but still he looked inside to see which one before he quickly set the bag aside and pressed his lips to Lavi’s.
“Why did you get me something that expensive?”
“Because I had no clue what else to get you. Besides, I know you’ll use it.”
“I would’ve been happy with just you.”
They sat there, staring into each others eyes for a few moments until a knock came at the door.
“Dad’s here. I’ll lock Miya in your room,” he said as he planted a quick kiss on Lavi’s lips before sliding from the counter to catch his prey.
While he did that, Lavi let Mana in, praying to whatever may be out there that he didn’t see anything.
“CAKE!” was the next thing that was heard as Allen came running down the hall, causing both men at the door to start laughing. By the time they had even reached the kitchen, Allen had the cake sitting in the middle of the table, knife in his hand.
They all sat and talked, Lavi sitting next to Allen and across from Mana, while they eat the delicious cake before them. Or rather, Mana and Lavi were eating like civilized people while Allen ate like a caveman.
“I’m glad to see that you’re still taking good care of my son,” Mana complemented soon after they were finished eating. “I’ve never seen him so happy.”
Lavi shrugged as he washed the few plates and silver ware. “I do what I can.”
Without warning, Allen got up as quietly as he could and wrapped his arms around Lavi from behind, causing the older to stiffen.
Mana simply took it as a show of affection for everything. Little did he know…
Lavi turned in Allen’s embrace, returning it somewhat stiffly as he leaned down to whisper in his ear. “Do you want him to know already?”
Allen had been taught well in his short study of the subject of kissing and making out. He had grabbed Lavi’s face and pulled it to his own, meshing their lips together and all melted away behind them. Every time their lips met, Lavi didn’t want to separate.
Now, Mana wasn’t too sure what this exactly meant as he sat watching the pair sensually making out before him. But once it finally clicked, he let out a nervous cough, gaining the pair’s attention.
‘He’s going to kill me!’ Lavi’s mind screamed as he took in the unsure face, Allen right by his side.
“Dad, moving here was the best birthday present you could’ve given to me,” the silver haired teen smiled as though his father’s expression meant nothing to him.
“How long have you two…” he began, unsure and hesitant.
“Since yesterday,” Lavi quietly replied. “Please don’t kill me!”
Mana chuckled somewhat. “Well, I suppose it will take some getting used to. But as long as he’s happy, it’s fine. And I know I can trust you two together. But if you break him…” he trailed off threateningly.
“I don’t intend on it,” was the reply as he laced his fingers with Allen’s.
It was still obvious though that Mana wasn’t too thrilled with his son’s choice of sexuality. But he should’ve guessed something would come from his son practically living next door with another guy.
“Well, everything was delicious, as always,” Mana said as he stood. “But I have an early project to do tomorrow, so I’ll be off to bed.”
Lavi still felt awkward. “Thanks for coming over.”
Mana offered a small smile, turning to leave. “Goodnight.”
“Night, dad!”
“Why did you do that?!” Lavi whimpered as he turned to face Allen as soon as the door had shut.
“Because it’s better he find out now than walking in on us some day and possibly explode,” he shrugged. He had a point. “Now can you school me, please?”
