A/N: This chapter doesn't hold anything of much interest but it is the introduction to a story I promise that most of you will like. This story is rated for language, and sexual content. There will be lemons in future chapters, but it will more then likely be Yaoi ((guy on guy)) Please do not read if you are under age, or if you do not enjoy or approve of this kind of pairings. It will be a for sure Daisuke/Satoshi pairing though it will not be instantaniously. There may be more pairings in the future, enjoy, and please do not forget to review.

Thunder echoed loudly through the night air, as lightning forks raced across the sky. Rain fell in great downpours drenching anyone who had not sought cover. Torrential winds whiped the rain into catastrophic designs, easily soaking everything.

Another flare of lightning illuminated a teenage boy, standing unfazed at the closed window to his balcony. His eyes regarded the city around and below him, all ravished by the unsuspected storm that had struck so suddenly. The boy reached up and removed his glasses, which didn't even serve to help him see as he did not need them, and they were just plain glass. He turned away from the window and walked towards his bed-side table, and placed the glasses carefully on top of it, next to his digital alarm clock that wasn't working due to the power outage.

The boy raised his left arm and regarded his watch closely as his other hand pressed the button on the top left side, lighting up the numbers on his watch. It read 10:57pm. He walked over to his dresser, retrieved a pair of white silk boxer pants, and a matching button up top, before silently exiting the bedroom so that he could prepare himself for bed. He walked into his white, plain and perfectly spotless bathroom, observed his seemingly emotionless reflection, while ignoring the image of his curse, Krad.

A blonde angelic like man was visible just above the boy's reflection, though there wass only one person in the room. The man watched the younger boy closely, taking in his short but beautiful blue hair, creamy complection and deep sapphire eyes. Gold eyes locked onto blue briefly, before the blue haired beauty leaned down and washed his face, since he had already finished brushing his teeth.

He scrubed his face throughly until the skin acquired a reddish tinge, that was an odd color on his naturally pale face. A hand delicately reached to the left, pulling a clean white towel from its rack and gently drying his face.

After properly replacing the towel in its rightful place, he turned and removed his school uniform, before slipping into his pyjamas. He looked himself over yet again in the mirror, ignoring the handsome Krad, who was watching him closely in return.

He ben down and retrieved his discarded clothing, and exited the bathroom, heading back towards his bedroom. He set the clothing into his laundry hamper before walking over to his bed and sitting down. The teenager lied back, and stared at the ceiling of his room, as the only sounds heard throughout his entire apartment was the sound of the ragging storm outside.

Raising his left arm, he checked the time again, noting that it was only 11:15 pm. A light sigh escaped his lips as he didn't normally go to sleep for quite some time yet. A night of work and research, ruined by the storm, found the young man having nothing to do for another hour and forty-five more minutes, as 1am wass his regularly scheduled bedtime, that he himself had set.

His mind ran over the events of the day, from half an hour after he woke up --since it generally takes him 30 minutes to come to his senses due to his low blood pressure-- just until then, laying on his bed doing nothing productive.

The blue haired boy's mind ran over all that was covered in class that day, and all the research he had been able to do before 7:40 pm when the storm was unleashed upon the helpless city. He vividly recalled the conversation he had held at noon with the naive but likable Daisuke Niwa. The innocent red head, always offered a great portion of his delicious looking meal to him, wanting him, Satoshi Hiwatari, to have more to eat then his normal juice box and bread. He was overly worried about Satoshi not having enough to eat.

Sometimes the Niwa's concern was slightly irksome, but he had grown accustomed to the boy's strange behaviors. After all, how many people would go out of their way to befriend their mortal enemy, while having no ill intentions towards them what so ever. Satoshi just couldn't understand how the adorable little red head, could still smile or even talk to him so cheerfully after all the pain Krad had caused to him.

Daisuke, and his family's blood curse, Dark, had been hurt, both physically and emotionally at the hands of Krad, his family's curse. Niwa and Dark seemed to coexist in peace --for the most par-- while he, the last member of the Hikari line --Hiwatari is his adoptive father's surname-- was cursed with Krad. A monster who had no qualms over hurting anyone who got in the way, including his very own tamer, Satoshi.

Krad had hurt him many times before. Every time the bloodthirsty curse took control of him, he felt as though he was being ripped apart from the inside out. Each time Krad unleashed his enormous, yet gorgeous pure white wings, his back was literally torn apart to allow the wings an exit point from his body.

His curse was the reason he was so distant, cold, and uncaring towards everyone, save, on odd occasions, Daisuke. If Satoshi was to hold anything dear to his heart the family curse would be activated and a jealous curse would be unlocked.

He had made that very mistake in one of his many encounters with Daisuke and the boy's other self, the legendary phantom thief Dark. He had sealed the thief into a mirror with great powers, though the separation had flung the innocent 14 year old back into the wall of the lighthouse, since he had tried in vain to prevent Dark being stolen from him.

The force of the blow Daisuke received rendered him unconscious, and he had learnt how much he valued the boy's friendship. That night Krad was wakened from deep inside his D.N.A. and now the evil curse was awake and active, never leaving him to himself, and always whispering to him how he belonged to no one but Krad.

Sighing for a second time that night he turned his head and noted that his digital clock was lite up once again, the time being correct since the batteries kept the time. Sitting up, he opened the bed-side table's top drawer and pulled out his laptop. Satoshi then sat it on the bed in front of his crossed legs.

After inserting the adapter into both the unit and the wall, he flipped on the power to his portable computer. Minutes later it was running smoothly, and Satoshi clicked on the messages button, and found only one email message from Inspector Saehara.
After opening the message, he read it carefully:

Hiwatari-sama, Earlier this evening another warning message from Dark was found. It said he would make his appearance tomorrow evening at The Sacred Heart Art Gallery at 11 pm. He plans to seal the Dreamer's Heart Pendant. The pendant was loaned to the gallery yesterday evening after being dug up in some ancient runes. I will send over some blue prints of the building, along with traps, and other information you may need.
Sincerely,
Inspector Saehara.

`So tomorrow Dark will make his move on a Hikari relic dating back three centuries ago. The Dreamer's Heart Pendant was made to cast a wish to any who wore it while sleeping, though it did not come without a price. For every wish granted, it stole the soul of the wisher, and locked it away deep inside of it allowing the pendant to always emit an eerie silver glow.' Satoshi said to himself, purposely blocking those thoughts from Krad, as to not give him any ideas that could lead to more unnecessary problems.

Shutting down his computer, he decided to deal with all the details and schematics tomorrow morning when he would awaken, as he tended to awaken at an early hour. He closed the top of the laptop after it had shut down. He gently tugged the cord from both hook up points and wrapped it up properly, before placing both items back into the top drawer.

Satoshi then lied back down and pulled the cover over him just as his clock changed to 1 am. He closed his eyes and fell into a light and dreamless slumber, though Krad watched him in non tiredly fashion, as a being with powers such as his only needed to sleep on ocasion....
