Chapter 3- Retrieving the past

“I Love this place. It has the best view of the town”
Ambriel spoke placing her hands behind her. Placing them on the grass she leaned back and looked up at the sky with its tones of orange, blue and purple. It was the perfect sunset. Closing her eyes she could hear the sound of the stream in the background.
“Yeah but it's not as beautiful as the view I'm looking at now” a voice sounded in her right ear.
Looking over she opened her eyes to see a male with purple hair and eyes. She smiled as she gazed at him. It would be clear to anyone that she had a lot of affection for this person.
“Such a charmer” she spoke with an almost sly tone
The man took a step forward and bent down kissing her softly on the lips
“Part of the reason for why you love me Amber” he sat next to her pouring a glass of wine for her as she smiled at his name for her.
“I know I don't have long before I have to take that piece of art so I wanted to spend the time before I do with the woman I love. And which reminds me, I have something for you”
He grabbed something in his pocket and pulled it out slowly. He placed a silver chain around her neck. Looking down she saw that he had given her a blue pendant.
“I stole it from a museum that claimed it was the essence of beauty. I can't think of a better person to wear it”
She smiled and blushed slightly at his words “Thank you so much”
As the sun set they shared a passionate kiss. Kissing her on the hand he left, flying into the night sky to collect his target.
Folding away the remains of the picnic she heard footsteps behind her. Standing slowly she reached for a dagger she had concealed at her side.
“Who are you?” she held the dagger in her hand keeping her back to the person
“A person you can't hurt with such a mortal weapon Ambriel” responded a deep voice.
Her eyes widened as the voice echoed by her. She knew who it was and why he was here.
Mehattronwhat…R 21;
“It's time to come back. You knew the rules, 50 years on earth then back to heaven. You've done your job and the mess that happened so long ago is finally cleared up”
“But I… I wish to stay”
“ahh yes I've witnessed your new attachment. `The great phantom thief Dark' Waste of your time a non real angel like that”
“I know there's a way for me to stay” she spoke seriously wanting so desperately to stay with her love.
“Yes but you surly don't want that. Do you even know…”
“In order for me to stay I must have a fallen angel placed inside me. The dangers involve having them in my mind, seeing everything I see and of course; total take over of my body”
“And you still want to go through with it?”
“Do I even have to answer that?”
“Then we must leave now”
Her eyes widened “but I need to say goodbye to him”
“There's no time” He grabbed her and dragged her away.

Later that evening Dark returned to the spot they agreed to meet. Looking around his lit up face began to dim.

“Amber….”

“No it can't be”
Daisuke jolted slightly in his stance at the sudden interruption of his inner self's voice.
What's wrong Dark?”
Daisuke was standing over a new addition to the local museum. The item was incased in a glass box and with multiple lights shining on it; it was hard to resist a peek at.
That Pendant… H…How did it get here?”
“Dark? What about it?”
“Daisuke, I need you to write a warning letter”
“What you want to steal this? Why?”
“Let's just say it's important to me. Make the note say that it will be taken at midnight tonight”

Sitting back in the safety of her home Ambriel began to repair the wound in her wing. Blood gushing she reached into the gash. Gritting her teeth she held back a yell of pain as it wrecked through her. Feeling the tip of metal around her fingertips she closed in on the object. Pulling sharp and fast, she rid the foreign body from inside her. A sharp scream raised in her throat which was too hard to suppress. The noise echoed around the empty room as she placed the bullet on the table in front of her.
Since she had not been back on earth for long, her powers were still weak compared to what they normally were so when she tried to heal the wound she could only master closing the distance by an inch. Turning to her cabinet she managed to use a few stitches to help secure the wound.
“It'll have to do… it'll be healed in three days anyway, so long as I don't fly too much”

Lying back on the sofa she turned on the television to see the news.
“Yes it is a remarkable find. This object is the pendant known as the essence of beauty and has been reported to have been missing for over 50 years”
She sat forward in her seat, a hand placed over where the pendant once lay on her neck.
“No…. how could of it???”
“Sources confirm that this valuable piece was discovered in a park by police after they responded to reports of gun fire. Officers believe the suspects may have had the pendant in their possession and left it behind as they ran from the scene”
Ambriels eyes were prized open as the information blurred past her.
“And now this piece is being displayed in the local museum for all to see once again”
Ambriel stood up fleeing to the balcony, she knew she couldn't use her wing fully yet but she had to retrieve that necklace.

“News just in the police have just received a note that phantom….” The rest of the words were silenced as she flew off slowly into the distance.
