Chapter 7:
But I'm a Man!
In the classroom, Satoshi sat and stared at his uncompleted painting. Hmm, for a Hikari, you're art sure has been boring this last week.
"I'm not finished yet."
But really, who wants to paint a picture of a red bird?
"Darmare-yo! You're making me lose my concentration!"
Well sorry, but it sucks. May I prefer that you paint something like... hmm, me?
"You're enough of a nightmare inside my mind, so tell me why I would want to see you more than I already do?"
Ouch. Well, at least it would be something better to do with your time than musing about your unattainable beloved.
"Leave me alone!"
"Are you alright?"
"Huh?" Satoshi looked up to see Riku giving him a weird face, "Nanka monku aru-no?"
"Itai. Is that how you usually address a lady?"
Satoshi looked back down at his painting, and replied, "I don't have time for chit-chat, so cut to the case; what is it that you want?"
"Well, if you insist, I was wondering if you've seen Daisuke."
Satoshi could feel his heart leap at the mere mention of him name. "No. I haven't seen him," "At least, not lately."
"Oh, I see."
"Why are you looking for him?"
"Well, I don't know if you've noticed or not, but Daisuke's been acting strange."
"Strange? How so?"
"Well, the other day I was at his house, and he told me..."
"Told you what?"
Riku was about to break into tears, "He told me to shut the fuck up in front of his mother!"
Riku's cupped her face as she wept a few tears, "Can you believe he would tell me something like that! Especially after he said he loved me!"
"He told you he loved you!"
Hmm, there appears to be no hope for you now, Satoshi. She obviously loves him, and he told her that he loved her, so that's that. There is no room for you.
"You're a little sensitive," Satoshi stated, "Was he mad or anything when he told you that?"
"Yes. He was furious over something."
"I wonder what happened." Satoshi pondered on it for a while
"I think it was because he was at your apartment, and that made his mother furious."
"He told her! Why would he do that!" "At my apartment?"
"Yup, well, I think I've taken enough of your time, so I have to go before Daisuke shows up."
Riku was about to walk away, that is, if Daisuke didn't suddenly show up and called for her, "Riku! Wait! Please don't go!"
Riku turned around before she even took a step away from Satoshi's side, "What is it, Daisuke?"
Once Daisuke reached her, he leaned over to support his weight on his knees while panting, and then said, "I'm so, so sorry for what I told you the other day. Will... you... forgive me?"
"No."
"What! But, Riku, I didn't mean any of it! Honestly! It just came out! Please Riku, kocchi mite! Zutto issho-ni itai!"
Riku turned around to look at Daisuke, "Forever...?"
"Hai! Mada kekkon shitakunai, but... aishiteru."
Satoshi looked up at Daisuke with pained eyes. He was witnessing the only person he loved confess his love to another. "Daisuke... why here? Why now? Please... just go away..."
Satoshi looked down as Daisuke brought Riku into a tight embrace, "Daisuke! We are in public!" Riku tried to whisper.
"Yes, I know, but I want everyone to know how much I love you."
Satoshi clenched his hand into a fist. He already felt the pain as he heart shattered, but now he was about to kill someone if they didn't take their little romantic performance somewhere else. Watch them, Satoshi. Watch Daisuke embrace Riku and bare the jealously that aches inside.
Satoshi clenched his eyes shut to prevent the tears from leaving his eyes, but it didn't help. A few tears did escape, but he had turned his face away just in time. "Aishite-mo ii, Daisuke? Or will you ripe my heart out without even realizing it?"
Cry, Satoshi. Cry until you cannot cry any longer.
"No, Krad! I can't... not here... maybe later... I know I will cry."
You knew this already, so why didn't you cry earlier?
"I knew, but it didn't hurt as much as actually seeing them express their love for each other in person!"
"I have to go, Daisuke, but if you are free, can we meet after school?"
"I want to Riku, I really want to, but I have an appointment to the doctor's office."
"Do you see what I mean, Daisuke? You are always busy. There just never seems to be any time for me."
"It's not that!" Daisuke tried to explain, "I just had this appointment set up for a week now, and I really need to go. I don't know what's been wrong with me lately, but I've been really sick."
"Sick? How so?" Riku asked.
"I've had morning, afternoon, and evening sickness, I've been vomiting, weird appetites, and I'm always dizzy."
Riku gave Daisuke a weird look, and Satoshi twitched. "Isn't that the same symptoms as..."
Hmm, I wonder...
"Wonder what?"
It's really nothing, but if my theory proves right, then it'll all reveal itself in due time.
"That's just weird, Daisuke."
"Yeah, so that's why I am going to the doctors."
"Hm, that's good," Riku pecked Daisuke on his lips, "I hope it's nothing serious. Bye."
Riku sprinted off, leaving Daisuke with a feverish look on his face, "I hope the doctor's appointment doesn't take very long."
Satoshi looked up at Daisuke who was in a dreamish state of mind, and then looked back down at his painting. He was painting not just any bird, but a firry Phoenix that almost resembled Daisuke. "You're always on my mind, Daisuke, but Riku is always on yours," Satoshi looked back up at Daisuke, "I wish I could say 'I love you' to your face."
Daisuke stood there for several seconds, and then looked down at Satoshi right before he noticed his paining, "Wow! Satoshi, that's awesome! It looks just like the real thing!"
Avoiding eye contact with the redhead, Satoshi just nodded. "However, something is missing," Daisuke placed his hands on his hips, and gazed into the painting, "But I'm not sure what."
"Krad told me the same thing, but I can't figure out what either."
"Hmm, maybe you should add a background for starters, and probably draw another subject. The bird is a little small."
"Just like you," Satoshi thought as he turned to look at Daisuke.
"Actually, maybe you should draw another phoenix as its partner, so that it won't feel lonely."
"Maybe I'll do that."
Suddenly, the bell rang, and the teacher came rushing through the door, "Today you will finish working on this month's painting, and tomorrow there will be a test on realism."
Daisuke sprang off to his seat, leaving a very depressed Satoshi behind. "I feel that if Daisuke continues to do things like that to me, I will be forced into doing something I don't want to do."
Like what?
"I don't want to know..."
Once class was over, Daisuke quickly gathered his things as he made his way over to the doctor's office. "I don't want to be late, so I hope I don't run into Riku."
Hey, Dai, there's this nice engagement ring store on the way to your destination.
"I told her already that I wasn't ready to get married. I'm only nineteen."
Ah, so you still want to shop around some more! An excellent choice! There are too many fish in the sea to be focused on just one's beauty!
"You're such a dog, Dark!"
At least I wasn't Satoshi's bitch.
"Why do you keep on bring him up!"
Because for some reason you always overreact when I talk about him.
"That's because I dislike the way you are always making fun of him! He's a nice guy!"
Okama...
"He's not a fag! I'm sure he's straight!"
Yes, he said that he felt that the game you guys played was more to him, and he can still be considered straight?
"He said that?"
You don't remember!
Daisuke came to a halt in his running, and then tried to recall what Satoshi said before they kissed last time... "He said, 'What if I felt it was more...'."
See, he's gay.
"Satoshi... No! That can't be possible! He can't be in love with me! Because I'm straight and in love with Riku, not him!"
Could you possibly imagine the look on his face if you had said that to him?
"I don't have time for this! I don't have time for him! That night and morning that I spent with him was a one time only, and it'll never happen again, because I'm never going to wear that bracelet again! Plus, Satoshi broke it."
With all the debating that Daisuke did with Satoshi, it made the trip feel a lot shorter, because at last, Daisuke had arrived at his destination. I don't like doctors. They give me the creeps.
"Oh, I didn't know that!"
There are still a lot of things you don't know about me.
"Well, I don't like needles."
I think a lot of people don't, Daisuke.
Daisuke sat in the waiting room for what seemed like hours, and Dark just so happened to have fallen asleep on him. "Could Dark have chosen a worse time to have fallen asleep on me?" Daisuke mumbled to himself.
Another twenty five minutes went by, and finally they called him in. "Great, now I can sit in the room for another few hours until they finally send a doctor over."
As predicted, Daisuke had to sit in a private room for what seemed like eternity, and finally he heard knocking at the door, "Come in!"
A nurse came in, and sat down, "Well, good evening Mr. Niwa, and what seems to be the reason for your appointment?"
"Well, I haven't been feeling very well, and I'm not sure what I may have caught."
"Please describe the symptoms."
"Well, I get really sick in the morning, but also during the afternoon and night."
"Now, by sickness, what do you mean?"
"I vomit."
"Oh...," the nurse made a discussed look, and began to take notes, "Anything else, Mr. Niwa?"
"Yes! I've had the weirdest appetites! Like I want to eat tuna with jelly, or I want pickles with ice-cream!"
"Hmm, I see. Anything else?"
"I am constantly dizzy, and I can barely sleep!"
The nurse finally smiled, and then giggled. "What's so funny?"
"I think I know what is wrong with you, but I can't be sure. The doctor will be right with you."
Daisuke nodded, and not even five minutes pasted before a female doctor came in, "Hello, you must be... Mr. Niwa?"
"Yeah."
"So, you really are a guy!"
"Umm... since last time I checked."
"Are you transsexual?"
"No! I've always been a guy!"
"Are you absolutely sure about that?"
Daisuke was getting mad, "Yes! I've always been a guy, and I'm still one now!"
"Oh, even mood swings. That's another symptoms that you forgot to mention."
"Just tell me what's wrong with me."
"Well, I'd thought it was obvious."
Daisuke noticed some nurse girls standing outside his door giggling and whispering things to each other. "Umm, no I don't."
"Ok then, ready to hear what's your little... problem?"
"Yes..."
The doctor began to giggle, but then she mumbled something.
"What?"
"I said you're pregnant."
"What! Ohmygod! Are you kidding me!" Daisuke nearly yelled from the top of his lungs.
"We could do a sonic gram in a month if you want to be sure."
"I'm pregnant! That's impossible!"
"There are very few, and rare cases that this has ever happened."
"But I'm a man!"
"And so were the other men. But they were all transsexuals who didn't trans completely over into the other sex, so really, they were all shims."
"But how is that possible!"
"There are ways... The unexplainable."
"I'm pregnant... Oh god... I'm going to have a ... kid...," with that, Daisuke fainted.
"Oh! How cute!" The doctor squealed.
Suddenly all the female nurses outside came rushing in to see the pregnant man, "He's so ukish! He's absolutely adorable!"
The minds of the fan girls... "A pregnant man! That's so hot! I wonder who the sperm donor was!" one of them squealed.
"He must be very handsome to get such a cute guy like this one! Oh! He almost looks like a girl!"
The doctor giggled a bit more, and then had to shoo away all the squealing fan nurses, "Ok, let's like him sleep."
"Him!" they all squealed as they left the room.
The doctor sat there for a few minutes until she heard the patient snoring, and then called in the closet fan nurse to take care of him until he wakes up. Squealing and jumping up and down, she hopped in. "Whatever you do, don't approach him with the pregnant subject unless he asks, ok?"
"Yes!" she squealed.
"And don't touch him! He's in a very delicate situation."
"Ok!" She squealed again.
The doctor left, and the nurse sat there starring at the helpless Daisuke, that was, until he finally awoke. "Ummn.. that was a nice nap... Huh?" Daisuke looked around, "Where am I?"
"At the doctor's office."
He turned to see a nurse starring at him with abnormally large eyes. "So, are you going to keep it?" she suddenly asked.
"Keep what? Oh god!" Daisuke began to blush once he recalled what the doctor had reported to him, "Is this a dream?"
"No," the nurse said.
"This can't be happening! Now how can I possibly ask Riku to marry me when I'm expecting!"
You're pregnant!
"Finally you're awake!"
Good god, Daisuke! You're pregnant!
"That's what I was told..."
With Satoshi's baby!
"That's right... I've never been in an intercourse until that night!"
"Ah! I know who the father is!" Daisuke exclaimed.
"Really! Ahhh! That's so cute!" The nurse began to blush.
"I'm going to kill him...," Daisuke threaten mentally.
"So, Mr. Niwa, are you ready to go home?"
"Yeah. Thanks for all your help."
"Do you want to schedule a sonic gram?"
"Yes."
"Ok. You're supposed to do that at the front desk, but I have all the papers here for you."
Daisuke looked at them, and began to apply information and signatures until he was finished. "I also have a question."
"Yes?" the nurse was eager to know what it was.
"Do I have to bring the father at any point?"
"For the sonic gram it would be nice. That way he'll be able to see his... child."
"Ok, thanks then. I'll be back in a two weeks."
"Take care!"
As soon as Daisuke was outside the building, he was ready to burst with anger, "How can this happen! This wasn't supposed to happen! It was only a night of games and fun for him! It wasn't supposed to lead into something like this! Oh, Dark! What am I suppose to do! Christmas break is coming up soon, and I'm sure my mom will notice!"
Ask Satoshi to take care of you.
"Dark, don't you understand! I hate Satoshi now! I hate his guts! If it wasn't for him, then I wouldn't be in this mess!" Daisuke knelt of the ground, "I can't do this, Dark!" he slumped forwards, "I can't bare a child! I'm not physically able to!" He wept.
I don't know what to tell you, but sooner or later, you're gonna have to tell him. In a few months, it's gonna be kinda hard to hide it.
"And how may I ask am I supposed to do that!"
Just tell him privately.
"Yeah, so I'll go up to Satoshi and say, 'you damn bastard! Because of your horniness, I'm pregnant!'"
Well, I didn't mean it like that. You may want to approach that subject matter in a more calm way. Just say something like, 'we are expecting,'."
"But what if he wants to raise it with me! What if he proposes to me!"
Men can do that?
"We can get married in San Francisco."
Well, Daisuke. It might be best to keep shut for a little while. But eventually you're going to have to break it to him. It's only expected that he should know about it.
"No... I can't... because... I don't want anything to do with him... I love Riku... I'm straight, and I want a normal family. I don't want to be like a wife to Satoshi. If it's possible, I'll see if I can go through with this... otherwise... there are always abortions."
Daisuke you wouldn't!
"I would if I have to!”
You'd kill your child!
"If I can't bare it! Then yes! I'll ask the doctor later if it's possible for me to bare it, otherwise I'm aborting it!"
You are gonna talk to Satoshi about this first!
"No!"
Yes, otherwise I'll make you!
"No! I won't! This is mine decision and mine alone!" Daisuke shook his head, "I alone will decide what will happen."
Darmare-yo: shut up!
Nanka monku aru-no: what do you want?
itai: that hurts.
Kocchi mite: look at me.
Zutto issho-ni itai: I wanna stay with you forever.
Hai: yes
Mada kekkon shitakunai: I don't want to get married yet.
Aishite-mo ii: may I love you?
Okama: fag
A/N: A note to everyone! I know it's impossible for a man to be impregnated! However, this is a fan fic! A fiction! And in a fiction, anything is possible! And yes, Daisuke does appear to hate Satoshi now... But please... don't hate me...
