Chapter 6: “Talk About Major Mood Swings”
"Niwa, do you like pancakes?" Satoshi curiously asked. There didn't seem to be much of any other editable substances.
"Um, sure..."
Daisuke was now sitting on the couch, the next morning, while Satoshi prepared breakfast for them. "What kind of toppings would you like?"
Oddly enough, Daisuke had a strange craving for pancakes with tomato paste… which was completely disgusting. He didn't want to ruin Satoshi's appetite, so he said instead, "Syrup."
"Ok."
Satoshi brought Daisuke the pancakes, with a bottle of syrup, and then he asked him, "What would you like to drink?"
"Um... I don't know. I don't really like orange juice, because it has this funny taste after
you brush your teeth, um, milk is to blah unless it has chocolate in it..."
"I can make us some hot coco."
"Really?"
"Of course. Just wait here."
While Satoshi went to make the hot chocolate, Daisuke tried to eat his pancakes, but it just wasn't suited to his liking. ("I really want tomato paste...")
(That's sick, Daisuke!)
"But I really want it!"
(Why? That is disgusting!)
"I don't know why. Don't you even get those strange moments when you want to eat something weird?"
(Noooooo. I don't.)
"Hmm, I wonder if Satoshi has any."
(He's in the kitchen. Don't tell me you'regonna walk in there, and say you are looking for something, because you know he's gonna want to help you!)
"It's ok. I won't do that. I'll say 'where is the tomato paste?'."
(Daisuke don't you dare! He's gonna think something is wrong with you! And maybe he'll think something is wrong with me, because I'm you, ya know!)
"Oh, don't be so silly, Dark. We may be one, but that doesn't mean we have the same taste. For instance, I like decent girls; you like slutty chicks."
(Hey, hey, hey! There is nothing wrong with liking a chick that likes to show a bit more skin those others.)
"You're hopeless."
"Who's hopeless?" Satoshi was suddenly in the room.
"Oh! Not you, I was talking to Dark!"
"There is no need to panic," Satoshi smiled.
"Who's panicking? I'm not panicking!"
"It doesn't matter," Satoshi brought a mug to Daisuke's face, "Here."
"Huh? Oh! Thank you, Hikari."
"It should have cooled down by now."
"Alright," Daisuke took a sip. If it weren't for his strange craving of pickled juice then it would have been delicious.
"Does it taste fine?"
"Yes! It's sweet!"
"I'm glad."
Daisuke and Satoshi finished up breakfast, and now seeing that the sun was out, and Daisuke's sore pain from last night was healing, Daisuke decided it was finally time to leave Satoshi's apartment. However, while Satoshi cleaned up the dishes, Daisuke tried to find his clothes, but didn't have a clue as to where they were. "Hikari!"
"Yes?"
"Where are my clothes? I'm not going to walk down the street in a bathrobe."
"Oh," ("I forgot about those,”) "Um, Just wait here. I'll get them."
"Actually, Satoshi, where are all your clothes. I went searching for them, but everything was empty."
"Oh, um, they are at the dry cleaners."
(No. If I recall, aren't they locked up in the closet?)
"Shut up, Krad."
(Why should I?)
"I don't have time for you right now!"
(If I were any other mortal, I would say, 'that hurts. That hurts right here in the heart', but I'm not. I'll just pester you later.)
Satoshi told Daisuke to wait in the living room while he went to fetch Daisuke's clothes. He came back rather quickly, and handed them to Daisuke. "Thanks. I'll go change in the bathroom."
Along the way to the bathroom, Daisuke began to feel sick again! ("Something has to be wrong with me!")
Leaning over the toilet again, Daisuke vomited, "Urgh!"
(You know, Daisuke, try not to look into the toilet after you throw up. Please, remember that I too can see through your eyes.)
"Sorry...Dark, it's just..." "Urgh!"
(EEWWWW! That was so Disgusting, Daisuke! Please don't look! Don't look! You looked... Eww! Is that a carrot!)
("Carrots from the soup I had last night.")
(It looks more like a...)
("Stop making me feel worse!") "Oh! I feel another headache coming on..."
(Ok. I'll be quite.)
"Niwa? Are you alright in there?"
"Yes! I'll be out in a second...," ("After I brush my teeth again.")
Satoshi patiently waited outside the bathroom until Daisuke finished. "Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yes! I'm fine!"
Satoshi looked deep into Daisuke's eyes, as if to draw the truth from him there. "Hikari?"
"You don't look fine to me. Are you absolutely sure that everything is alright?"
"Yes! Please don't worry about me!"
Satoshi placed his hands on Daisuke's shoulders, "If something is wrong, please don't hesitate to tell me."
"You worry too much about me."
"That's because I care about you, Niwa." ("Wait! Was that a smart thing to say?")
(Hmmm, that's hard to tell. Depends on how Daisuke interprets it.)
"You care about me?" asked Daisuke.
Satoshi looked away for a second, and then replied, "Yes. I care about you, Niwa. You...I... I…"
("What is he trying to say?") Daisuke pondered.
(You're a real airhead, Daisuke, a real airhead.)
"What are you trying to say?" Daisuke asked.
("I can't say it. It's just not the right moment.")
(What were you trying to say? I couldn't even hear your thoughts.)
"Niwa, we're friends. Please call me Satoshi."
"Sa..to..shi?"
"Yes," ("Just like last night. I want to hear my name roll of his tongue.")
"Um, ok then. However, I guess it's only proper that I would allow you to call me Daisuke."
"Daisuke."
"Yes! Now. Is that all?"
("No... I have so much more to tell you, Daisuke. I love you.I love you so much I am reluctant to let you go. I know it's selfish, but I want you to stay here with me.")
"Yes, that's all," Satoshi tried to give a reassuring smile.
"Then I have to go."
"Yeah. I know. Here," Satoshi took Daisuke's arm in his, "Let me walk you to the door like a real host."
Satoshi turned his face away before Daisuke could see the blush that had overcome his face, and Daisuke did the same, because a blush had appeared on his cheeks as well. Once at the door, Satoshi turned to Daisuke, "Are you sure you're going to be alright, especially after what happened last night?"
Daisuke blushed as the pleasurable memories, of Satoshi moving inside of him, came flooding back. ("In a cave of ice, under the moon's bright light, we became engulfed in the scorching flames of passion as he ... made love to me...") Daisuke could remember reading a poem with those words.
"It's still sore, but I'll be fine. I'm nineteen."
("I still can't believe it, though. You still look like that fourteen-year old that I've known for so long.")
"Daisuke..."
"Hm?"
Satoshi leaned forwards, and Daisuke backed up until the wall stopped him from going any further. "Satoshi?"
("Oh, god. How I love it when he whispers my name like that.")
("Dark, what is Satoshi doing?")
(Hmm. I think he's trying to kiss you.)
("What!")
"Um, Satoshi... I..."
"Daisuke."
"Yeah?"
"I want, no..., I'm craving something..."
Although afraid to ask, Daisuke did anyways, "What...?"
"May I kiss you... just once more?"
("What! Ohmygod! Dark! What do I do!"
(Run away screaming "Bloody murder!".)
"If you don't mind me asking, why?"
Satoshi decided he had to be blunt, "Last night you never kissed me back. Even when I tried my best to make it enjoyable for you."
("Great! Daisuke must think I'm a real creep!") Satoshi mentally screamed.
"I ... I'm sorry, Satoshi. But the bracelet didn't say I had to kiss you."
"Daisuke, it's just weird that people don't kiss while they are making love."
"Well, maybe I didn't want to."
"Please, just kiss me back, and I'll never ask you of anything ever again," Satoshi caressed Daisuke cheek with his soft hand.
Before Daisuke could answer that, Satoshi had descended and covered Daisuke's lips with his own. "No... Satoshi... It was just a game!" Daisuke mumbled between kisses.
Pulling away just a bit, Satoshi whispered, "Yes, but what if I felt it was more..."
Satoshi proceeded in kissing Daisuke again, but this time, he desperately tried to pry Daisuke's lip as he pushed his tongue against Daisuke's lips. "Umn... Satoshi..."
"Please, Dai…suke... Pl… ea... se."
Finally giving into what Satoshi wanted, Daisuke finally opened his mouth to Satoshi who didn't waste anytime in probing. Upon entering, Satoshi snaked one arm around Daisuke's waist, and the other laid behind Daisuke's back his hand pulling Daisuke closer. Thinking that he should also return the embrace, Daisuke wrapped his arms around Satoshi, and responded to his kiss by gliding his tongue against Satoshi's. "..mn.."
("Yes... This is what I wanted,") Satoshi thought.
("I never... thought it would feel this good to kiss... him..,") Daisuke mused.
Daisuke was about to reach a state of forbidden desires, but then Satoshi pushed Daisuke away before he was tempted to go any further. Daisuke was left panting, and confused. Satoshi on the other hand, had opened the door for Daisuke to leave before Daisuke asked any questions. "I think it's time that you leave, Daisuke."
("That's it? That's all he wanted?") "Ok. I'll see you around, Satoshi."
While Daisuke waved, he walked pass the door, and after he disappeared behind the elevator doors, Satoshi closed his door. "That felt so good...," Satoshi said nearly out of breath as leaned against the door.
(I hope you enjoyed yourself to the fullest, because I'll never let you have an opportunity with Daisuke like that again.)
"You would do that to me, wouldn't you?"
(Yes, that and a lot more.) Krad chuckled. (I never liked the boy, and it is just appalling that you have accepted him as his friend. However, it's even worse that you fell in love with him.)
"Accidents happen."
(But aren't you the flawless Hikari? Aren't you supposed to avoid mistakes and accidents? Didn't you crush your emotions?)
"I did. But because of Daisuke, I allowed them to take a hold of me again."
(A moment of weakness, you know you can't afford that, especially when I manifest myself in your being, and resurface after the trigger is pulled. And you know very well whothat trigger is.)
("Stop it Krad. I don't want to hear your lecture.")
Krad chuckled for a second time, and then disappeared into the darkness of Satoshi's mind.

"It feels so good to be home!" said Daisuke as he proudly walked through the front door.
"Welcome home, Daisuke!" his mother welcomed her son with open arms, "So, how was your stay at the Harada's mansion?"
Daisuke flinched. He had completely forgotten to tell his mother where he was, and she guessed he was at the Harada's mansion; which was a relive to him. "It was... um... fine..."
"Really? Tell me more, Daisuke! I need details."
"Umm, well, uh..." Daisuke was about to come up with something, if it wasn't for the uneasy feeling he felt in his guts.
"Daisuke? What's wrong, sweetie?"
"I... I... eh..," he could feel something coming, "I don't feel so... ugh!"
Daisuke covered his mouth, and ran to the bathroom before it was too late. It became utterly silent until the noises of vomiting echoed in the house. "I wonder what is wrong with Daisuke?" his mother pondered as she looked up and placed her index finger on her chin.
"Is he sick?" Daisuke's father asked.
"He wouldn't be throwing up if he wasn't." Towa commented.
"I wonder what happened. Oh! I hope Daisuke didn't get food poisoned," his mother worried.
After a few minutes, Daisuke emerged from the bathroom; still rubbing his stomach, "I think I need to lay down," ("I just threw up what Satoshi mademefor breakfast!")
"Aren't you hungry?" his mother asked.
"Now that you mention it, I do have this odd craving for pop tart and eggs with a side of tuna."
His whole family gave him a blank stare. "You want what!" Emiko asked.
"Pop tart with eggs, and a toping of tuna."
Emiko ran up to touch Daisuke's forehead, "You don't have a temperature, but eating something like that will make you sick, sweetie, and how are you suppose to steal priceless works of art if you are sick?"
"Will you for once think about something else other than stealing?!" Daisuke barked.
"Daisuke Niwa! You do not raise your voice to me! I am your mother!"
No one even knew where such anger suddenly came from, "Well, if you would stop thinking about stealing art work for once, then maybe I wouldn't be so mad! All I ever hear is: steal this, steal that! Don't you ever consider the fact that maybe I want to take a break! No! You don't!"
With that, Daisuke ran to his room leaving everyone completely speechless. "What's his problem?" Towa asked.
"My poor Daisuke!" Emiko cried, "The Haradas have clearly done something to him!"
"Just leave him alone," said Daisuke's father, "Maybe he just needs sometime alone. But seriously, I never knew the kid had a shot fuse," he rubbed the back of his head.
Up in his room, Daisuke had collapsed on the bed, and was now rubbing his temples. "My head hurts..."
(After screaming at Emiko like that, who wouldn't be? Jeez, Daisuke, I thought you were gonna strike her too.)
("I was about to... oww... my head!")
(Ok, Daisuke, talk to me; what is really wrong with you?)
"I don't know, Dark," Daisuke mumbled while he continued rubbing his temples.
(It's like ever since last night... well, you just haven't been yourself. Continuous vomiting, headaches, feeling noxious, and the most disgusting appetites that I've ever seen!)
"Please, could you just leave me alone for a little while? I feel like my head's about to explode."
It didn't take long for Daisuke to drift off into slumber land that was; until he was rudely awaken with a poke. "Daisuke? Daisuke? Dai! Wake up!"
"Huh?" Daisuke peeked out through one eye, and said, "Leave me alone, can't you see I'm sleeping..."
"Come on! You promised to go out with me tonight."
"What?" Both of Daisuke's eyes widen, and he realized that it was Riku who was poking him, and talking to him, "Riku!"
"Well duh! Who did you think I was?"
Daisuke sat up, and said, "I'm so sorry! It's not that I forgot, it's just that it was ten when I fell asleep for a little nap, and now it... Oh my god! It's already seven!"
Riku shrugged, "It's ok. So, where do you want to go?"
"Don't mind me, Riku, but I can't afford anything expensive and fancy."
"But you're not inviting me to take out, right?"
"No. I usually don't eat at fast food restaurants," Daisuke pondered for a moment, "Maybe we can just go and have sushi somewhere."
"Sushi isn't cheap, Daisuke. It can be quit costly, depending on where you're dinning."
"Nothing is too costly for you, Riku," Daisuke gave her one of his signature smiles.
"You're just too cute, Daisuke. I'm so glad that you are my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Emiko suddenly popped her head out from around the corner, "What's this I hear! Daisuke, Ms. Harada is your girlfriend!"
"Uh... wait! I didn't... oh man..."
"How can you possibly want to take your girlfriend out on a first, cheap date?!" Emiko scolded, "Don't you want to take her to some nice and fancy exquisite place? Like a French restaurant?"
"You know I can't afford that!" Daisuke wined.
"Of hush! I know the perfect place!"
"Really?" Riku asked.
"Yes!"
Daisuke was about to debate, but then another uneasy feeling erupted in his stomach.
(Quick! Make a break for it, or you'll end up vomiting all over Riku's nice church clothes!) Daisuke ran out of the room before anyone could ask questions, and once again made it by a split second. "What happened to Daisuke?" Riku asked.
"I'm not sure, Riku. He just hasn't been feeling well. It's like ever since he came here from your house, he's been vomiting, and sleeping."
"My house? Daisuke hasn't been over at my house for years now."
"What? Then where was he last night?"
"He wasn't home?" Riku asked.
"No," Emiko responded, "He was gone all last night. I assumed that he was at your place."
"No, he wasn't."
They sat in silence until Daisuke returned, "I'm back."
"I can see that," Emiko replied, "Daisuke, where were you last night?"
"Huh?" ("Where did that question come from?")
"If you weren't at Riku's mansion, then where were you?"
"I... uh... I was..."
"If you don't answer me right now, young man, then I will forbid that you go anywhere without parental supervision. And that includes going on dates with Riku!"
"What! You can't do that to me!"
"I'm your mother, Daisuke! I can do whatever I want to you!"
"No you can't!" Daisuke barked, "It's not like I'm doing anything wrong! All I did was go over to Satoshi's apart-"
"You were at his apartment!"
"Shut up! We didn't do anything! (Yes you did!) I was just there to help him out with a project!"
"Nonetheless, Daisuke, you are never allowed to see that boy unless you have a third person present!"
Now steamed, Daisuke began yelling from the top of his lungs, "I don't care what you think! I'm nineteen! I'm not the little fourteen year old that I once was! I don't have to report to you where I've been! I don't have to obey your every command and rule! And I especially don't need you there ruining my time when I'm on a date!"
"Daisuke!" Riku tried to hush him down.
"Shut the FUCK up!" Daisuke yelled at Riku.
"I beg your pardon? Shut the... Daisuke. If you are going to talk to me like that, then we're through. I don't ever want to speak to you again!"
With that said, Riku rushed out of the room before Daisuke could see her tears falling. "Well, I hope you're proud of what you just did, Daisuke," his mother scolded, "Never have I ever seen you lose such control. It makes a mother such as myself wonder what kind of people you are befriending. And where is Dark during all of this?"
(Why do they always bring me into these kinda messes! I have nothing to do with it! I'm innocent!)
"That is my business, and mine alone. I don't need you telling me what I can and can't do!"
"You are grounded."
His mother too left the room with a dangerously red face. "It's about time!" Daisuke threw himself onto the bed. ("Dark, what's wrong with me! I think I seriously need to schedule a visit to the doctor's office.")
(I think you need anger management treatment.)
"Not right now... I was just dumped, and after I cool down, I know I'm going to hit myself," Daisuke reached for the phone and dialed the desire number.
"Hello, Dr. Ola's office, how can I help you?"
"Hi, my name is Daisuke Niwa, and I want to schedule an appointment to see Dr.Ola."
"Alright, let me check to see when we have an open date. Hmm... Well, we have one in a week if that's fine with you."
"Sure, what day and time?"
"Monday the 19th. Is that alright with you?"
"Sure. I start winter vacation that day, so it'll be fine."
"Will you be coming alone? Or with a parent?"
"Alone."
"Alright. You're all set."
"Thank you, bye-bye."
CLICK
(You're really lost it today, Daisuke.)
"I don't know what is wrong with me, but I hope it clears up soon. I need some food, but everything I eat, I throw up!"
(Dumped and grounded all in one day, how do you do it?)
"I don't need this right now, Dark. What I need is more sleep."
(Or maybe all you need is another kiss from Satoshi?)
Daisuke's eyes shot open. "What makes you think that?"
(You sure seemed at peace when he kissed you.)
"Speaking of which, how am I going to face him tomorrow? Especially after what happened last night?"
(You're just gonna have to. However, whatever you do, don't go anywhere alone with him. He might try to rape you.)
"Hahah, very funny," Daisuke remained silent for a few seconds, "I just hope whatever is wrong with me isn't too serious. That last thing I need is for my family to worry about me."
(Including Satoshi.)
"Night, Dark..."
