The demon swallowed the boy, shoes and all. It tasted the boys' skin, it tasted the boys' blood, it tasted the boys' stunned silence, and it tasted the boys' fear and hate. However, it tasted one thing and loved it: it tasted the boys' lineage. A lineage of warriors, a lineage of power, a lineage that was once of hope. The demon roared, enjoying the great fest that lay before it. The demon flicked out its' forked tongue, knowing that this one boy, no matter how special he is, could to quench his appetite....

It was dark. It was really dark. It smelled too. Smelled like rotten meat. Where was he? Then the realization dawned on the boy. Chris was in the belly of the beast, beginning to be digested. .....Crap! When I get out of here....

Chris began to struggle. Chris punched, kicked, and slashed with his sword. Nothing. Yelled, but found that his air supply was limited. Chris trapped, with little to no room to move. The snakes' body restricted movement, movement that he needed. Then, a liquid began to run over his body. At first, it was warm, but it slowly began to get hot. Hotter and hotter until he smelled his clothes beginning to melt. Or dissolve! `CRAP! I'm being digested!!'

Mrs. Drakken fell against the couch. She looked blankly at the screen, no longer in this world. Tears began to form in her eyes as she brought her hand to her mouth. She tried to scream, but found it too difficult. She tried say something to her stunned husband, but only choked back a sob.

Mr. Drakken wrapped his arms around his wife. She buried her face in his chest, sobbing. Mr. Drakken watched the television, waiting for his son to pull off one of his big flukes.

Chris felt his body getting lighter, like he was losing weight in an instant, or he was flying. Yeah, flyings a better way to describe it. He was floating on air. Floating with the clouds in the sky. Just like that. No cares, no pain, nothing but floating carelessly through the sky. Chris closed his eyes to image himself as a cloud.

A white cloud, untouched by the ground below. The cloud got bigger. Then it got grayer, darker. Then it was getting heavy, too heavy. Lightning struck the ground underneath Chris. Chris began to feel gravity on his body again, pulling him back down. Chris didn't want to go however. He tried so hard to stay with the cloud. Chris watched as others began to fall from the bliss of the cloud. Falling toward the vile, putrid earth. Chris was getting too heavy. He didn't want to fall! He wanted to stay! He wanted to float! He wanted to be free! Chris held on with all his strength, but that wasn't enough. It never was. He fell to the earth, looking at the shrinking bliss above him. No! He wanted to go back! It isn't fair! Why did he have to fall now, when things looked their greatest, their happiest!

Chris fell faster toward the earth. He felt like swearing, like spitting. He wanted to curse the damnable planet into the sun. He wanted the earth to suddenly explode, so he could be anywhere but there! Why? Why does this planet have to be so cruddy anyways? Just because a couple of idiots don't know how to take care of themselves? Why should he have to pay?

Chris hit the ground, only sticking to it like glue. His body wasn't crushed by the impact, only bounced slightly. Chris stood up and looked around. Lightning struck the barren land, causing some beauty in it to be engulfed in flames. Chris looked back up, no turning back now. He began to walk, almost forgetting how to use his legs. The land was rough, difficult to walk through without shoes. Something that Chris didn't need before...

Annie couldn't sleep. He best friend was still missing. He did not show up to school for the past few days and worry was beginning to rear its head. "Chris.... What happened?" She asked herself as she looked up at the ceiling.

She then sat up with a yawn, then pulled the covers off. She needed a snack. Annie then stepped off the bed and began to walk toward her bedroom door. She quietly opened the door, beginning her trek to the kitchen.

A couple minutes later, Annie opened the refrigerator door and peaked at the contents. She frowned, seeing that the fridge was nearly completely bare. Sighing, she closed the fridge then looked at the television. "I guess I could watch TV until I fall asleep...."

Annie then plopped herself on the couch and grabbed the remote. She clicked the television on then quickly began to search through the many cable channels, finding that the shows pretty much, for lack of a better term, sucked. She continued to channel surf, until she passed something that caught her eye. Blinking, she then returned to the channel, nearly dropping the remote at what she saw. "CHRIS?!"

Her yell nearly woke up everyone in her household. She quickly covered her mouth, an attempt to restrain her surprise, then watched on as the young fighter battled the fierce serpent. Whenever he landed a blow, she'd smirk and cheer on. Whenever he took a blow, she would wince and mentally state that it was cheap. But, when Chris lost his new sword, it was then she began to get nervous. Sure, he had fought the agents of the D-Reaper on numerous occasions, but those fights we vicious and the young fighter nearly didn't walk away from them alive. He's going to win this one. He always wins these things! I mean, there's nothing he can't do…. Right?

Annie was quickly snapped out of her thoughts as she watched Chris dive for his one and only hope, only to be snatched up by the tongue of the vile creature and swallowed whole. Annie was in shock as she saw this, falling back on the couch.

"..... N-no... This isn't happening... CHRIS!!"

* * * *

Chris continued to walk, shivering, cold and afraid. Then, the yells of two men reached his ears. Chris stopped and looked around. What is that? .... it sounds so familiar.... Like it was something... Something important to me.... Chris turned his head to the right, suddenly seeing two men.... or at least, what looked like men, fighting.

The first warrior, whom was covered in blue serpent scales with a blue lizard tail coming from his back side, was tall and very strong. However, but watching the way that he fought, you could tell that this creature was gentle, yet not a pushover. His movements were very fluid, and almost dance like. His strikes were fierce, and bone-crunching.

The second creature, however, was entirely different. This creature was covered in fur, in the same colors and stripes as a great Siberian tiger. His movements were fast, and to the point. He would lounged repeatedly and sometimes jumped back to reassess his present situation.

Both were driven by instinct, and their wills to live. The dragon and tiger man. Chris had seen this before.... but where. Then, the dragon-man took one mighty leap into the air, gathering a blue energy in the palm of his hand. Roaring and clenching the talon fist, the creature then began a death-dive toward the tiger-man. Bringing it's fist forward, the dragon fired a massive energy attack, in the form of a.....

"Dragon Punch!! I remember this! This is how I learn the Dragon Punch! But why am I seeing this again?"

The tiger quickly jumped to the side, barely dodging the death punch from above. Suddenly, the tiger began to gather energy in its own clawed hand, but this time, the energy had a golden shine to it. Extending it's claws, the tiger then rushed the dragon-man, almost going faster than Chris' could watch, with one quick and vicious swipe, the tiger-man attacked..........

Chris' eyes snapped back open, seeing nothing but darkness before him. His lungs still ached for the sweet air that it so desperately desired. Despite this, however, Chris smirked, gathering a different kind of energy in his hand. This golden energy formed around his arm, forming a claw-like weapon of energy. Chris then brought his arm back, readying it for one last blow......

The serpent slithered through the park, attacking people and building along the way. Often times, it would roar, telling the city that it now belonged to it. The city officers would shoot numerous amounts of bullets at the creature, one to have no effect. Even one brave soul attempted to use a rocket to subdue the fearsome beast, only to have it deflected by its tail and hit an nearby building.

After a while, the law enforcement sent in five helicopters to surround the beast and deliver its demise. The helicopters fired off its large multi-fire weaponry, only to have no effect like the handguns. Then, it was decided to fire an assault of missiles. The helicopters then began to fire all the missiles it could carry. The serpent managed to dodge some of the missiles, but the numbers were too great, as one by one, the missiles hit the desired target, covering the immediate area with explosions and dust.

"Direct hit! I repeat! Direct hit!! The monster has been hit!" One of the men in the helicopters exclaimed into his hands free radio. Then, everyone back at the headquarters began to celebrate. They had done it! They had defeated the monster!

From the depth of the smoke and ash, a low hiss was heard. Then, a stream of light rocketed from the smoke cloud, barely missing one of the helicopters.

"What the-? The monster is still alive! Repeat! The monster is still-…" Static filled the airwaves, after one of the helicopters was struck down by that monstrous tail. The serpent slithered away from the smoke, then began to attack that attackers. All helicopters were then told to retreat, but it was too late. The serpent was already angered to the point of blind destruction. The demon began to strike down buildings, cars, anything in its path.

Then, as the destruction ensured, a large section of the beast was beginning to expand, growing bigger and bigger, as if it was balloon. The demon stopped the random destruction and roared out to the sky, as pain filled its scaly body. Then, yellow light began to appear from the beast. Then, just as suddenly at the light appeared, the beast was sliced.

"NO! God no!" Mrs. Drakken shrieked, as she sobbed into her husbands shoulder. Mr. Drakken, on the other hand, was watching the television intently. Something was going to happen; he could feel it in his gut.

Then, the television filled with a bright yellow light, nearly blinding the father. Mr. Drakkens eyes widened, as he could barely make out the beast. ".... Honey.... I think you should see this..."

"No! I don't want to see that-....." Mr. Drakken decided to interrupt at the moment.

"No, really. You should see this." Mrs. Drakken looked up from her husbands shoulder, seeing the blinding light from the television. Then, she squinted, as she thought that

"TIGER CLAW!!" Chris yelled, as his new attack pierced through the soft tissue from within the beast.

Chris emerged from the wound, covered in a green goop, then fell to the ground, a bright yellow claw surrounding his right arm. He fell to both knees and began to take in breaths of the heavenly night air. Slowly, the burning that once filled his lungs and muscles began to disappear. The demon roared one final, thundering, bellow and fell to the ground. Chris sat back and watched as the huge snake caught aflame, then turned to dust. Still panting, the fighter stood to his feet, looking for his discarded weapons.

Then, a quick flash of light hit the corner of his eyes. Chris turned to his right and walked toward the source. There laid the mighty blade, Excalibur, the blade seemingly glowing with its own light. Chris knelt to pick up the weapon, sighing in relief that this battle was won. Chris stood upright, sheathing the blade, then moving away. Then, a crash sounded to his right. Chris emerald orbs darted to the right, glaring at the figure in the distance. Or in this case, figures.

"... Shit...."

Annie jumped on the couch, laughing as her friend emerged from the belly of the beast. "YES! Chris, you rock!"

She then started to do a little dance. This stopped as soon as the camera turned back to the rest of the city. Two large figures, shrouded in dust and shadows, began to ravage the city. Annie stopped, then sat back on the couch. The camera then went to Chris, but he was no longer there. The cameraman began to search frantically for the young fighter, finding him running toward this next challenge. Annie watch on, sighing.

"This is going to be a long night, isn't it?" She frowned. "Well, I could always work on my History homework."

Shrugging, she stood up and began to search for you backpack in the dark. She walked down the dark hallway, and tripped over something. This object gave a loud yelp, then dashed away. Annie, who fell on her butt from the surprise, glared at the retreating form of her cat. "Daniel! You shouldn't sleep in the middle of the hallway!"

"Well, you shouldn't be up in the middle of the night when you have school tomorrow, young lady." Annie jumped in surprise, as the voice spoke to her from the stairway. Annie turned her head.

"Mom! You scared me!" She yelled in protest. Her mother smiled.

"Annie, honey. What are you doing up at this hour? You have school tomorrow."

"I know! But I couldn't sleep. So I came down here to get something to eat and watch some TV, so I can at least get a little sleep. I turned on the news and saw Chris!" Her mother heard the name, with a frown. She never really liked the young fighter. In fact, the concerned mother saw him as a horrible influence, since his reputation told everyone that he was someone to watch out for. Everyone in the neighborhood knew this.

This concerned mother could not understand why her daughter was so drawn to this boy, since they were obviously complete opposites. Chris, a cold, distant, isolated individual, never seemed to be the outgoing type. Whenever someone would approach him, for any reason, they would be met with a penetrating stare. This glare would usually cause the person to forget the reason why they approached the boy, and they would leave. However, they left with a sense that a piece of them became exposed, apiece that was never meant to be seen in the first place.

Annie, a popular, smart child, was the complete polar opposite of this boy. She welcomed people, with open arms and heart. She excelled in school, just like her mother, and rarely got into an argument with a fellow student. Heck, she rarely got into an argument with anyone. Annie was the type of person that could see the good in anything. Someone would begin to tell her about a problem with a parent, and Annie would get that person to see things from the perspective of the parent. Or, a horrible ordeal will befallen over someone, and Annie would be the first one there to tell them that everything will be okay and this happened for a reason.

The mother then walked down the final steps, standing over her fallen daughter.

"…..Annie, honey, you should really go to bed."

"But mom! Chris is fig-"

"No buts! Bed now! You have school tomorrow and I don't want to fall behind. Now move!" Annie, about to launch another protest, looked at the ground. She would not win this battle.

She lazily got to her feet, then began to walk up the stair. As she did so, she took one look back, seeing if there was any hope that he mother would change her mind. There was none.

"...Good night mom..."

A/N: And that is the end of chapter 12. Sorry to leave you hanging there for the longest time, but school has kept me preoccupied (AKA, I am actually doing homework and doing well in the jail cell called High School.) Thank you all for you reviews. Hope this chapter didn't disappoint. I am really hoping to finish my next chapter within the next week, but as I said before, I doubt that will happen. But, now, there is more hope, because my creative energies have been surging, and never stopping. Unfortunately, most of that energy is for future chapters (not too far into the future, I might add) so this chapter will not be as great as some of my others.... Also, a recommendation to everyone out there: Live you life to the fullest. I'm not kidding. You should. Well, till next chapter, this is Neo-Shadow signing off..... *Bows, then disappears in a hail of golden feathers. He laugh is heard, as the screen goes black........*
