Digimon 02: Digidestined of Minerva

However, before they began to fight, Kyoto and Renamon revealed why they were trying to become the best fighter team and it was a shocking history! Chapter 12: Ruins of Beginnings

 

(Inside of Davis' and Kari's room; around the time of dawn in the morning)

 

Inside of the building that `houses' the DSA, the Digidestined Danger Service Agency, we head into the room of Davis and Kari, where we find our two Digidestined sleeping on the bed, totally nude, with Kari sleeping on Davis' muscular chest. Davis tells Tai, “Well, Izzy just called and said he might have found something to find the ancient city of Minerva.”

 

The three humans and four Digimon gasp in shock and amazement and Sora asks, awe-struck, “Really, Davis?”

 

Davis nods his head and states, “He said that he had found an ancient temple connected to Minerva while working with his fellow computer scientists. It was inside of a four-year old file and had been forgotten. He and TK have managed to get all the information of this file in the library that TK is working at and wants us to come to the library right away.”

 

Tai exclaims, happily, “Great! Hopefully, we can get the Digital World returned to normal more quickly and get all of our lives back to normal!” Sora nods her head in agreement with her boyfriend/lover.

 

Davis then states, in a plain tone, “Okay, then, let's go!” Davis, Kari, Tai, Sora, and their four Digimon partner then headed off to the library after they had written a note for their `bosses' about where they have gone and why.

 

(Inside of the Oceanous Public Library; A short time afterwards)

 

We find all of the Odaiba Digidestined and Digimon partners in the center of the Oceanous Public Library in front of a large computer screen with none other than Izzy Izumi, Digidestined of Knowledge, typing on the computer's keyboard.

 

Matt then asks Izzy, in a curious tone, “Is this it, Izzy?”

 

Izzy nods his head and tells Matt, “Of course, Matt, this is the information that I found while working with the computer scientists and other scientists researching the Digital World. In one of their databanks, I had found this four-year old file about an ancient temple that was just forgotten about and I managed to download it as well as bring it to the library and with TK's help, find out as much information on this temple as possible.”

 

TK then tells everyone, “Izzy and I found out that this file says that this temple was made by an ancient Digital World civilization and that a little of the ancient Digi-World text makes a reference to the `first chosen children' or `first protectors of the Digital World' implying the first Digidestined team. Since the first Digidestined team has fought this evil before at Minerva, it is most likely that this temple has to do with Minerva as well.”

 

Ken then asks, “Okay, do you know where the temple is Izzy?”

 

Izzy nods his head and replies, “In fact, Ken, I do know where the temple is. It is in a little known as place as the `Valley of Lost Times', which does make some sense since plenty of civilizations have been lost with the passage of time.”

 

TK then states, “The temple and the valley are thirty miles away from the city and the valley is covered by thick fogs, making it quite hard to see and making it easy to get lost.”

 

Izzy then calls out, “Plus, the area is known as a `Dead Zone', making all electronic devices like computers, communication devices, and thus, totally useless in that area. The only devices that will work in that area are the digivices, but only their ability to digivolve Digimon to their higher levels, however, the other features, like tracking other digivices are totally useless in that `Dead Zone'.”

 

Davis then asks, in an annoyed tone, “Well, that one hell of a downer. What are we supposed to do then?”

 

Cody then tells Davis, “There are other forms of communication, Davis. All we need to do is work out a form of communication while we are in that `Dead Zone'.”

 

Tai then says, “All right, let's do this!”

 

Davis smiles at the others and says, “Okay, let's go!”

 

(On the meanwhile; Outside of the Oceanous Public Library)

 

On a nearby roof near the Oceanous Public Library, we find Kyoto and Renamon looking down on the library where our Odaiba Digidestined and their Digimon are currently in and both of them had serious looks on their faces.

 

Renamon then asks, curiously, “It seems like the Digidestined of Miracles is surrounded by his fellow Odaiba Digidestined. What should we do?”

 

Kyoto replies, in a serious tone, “We're going to follow them and observe them closely. When the Digidestined of Miracles is only with his partner or with only one other Digidestined and Digimon partner, it is then that we will strike.”

 

Renamon nods her head and states, “As you wish, Kyoto.”

 

Kyoto then says, “Let's go, Renamon. We're going have to keep a close eye on them, but we are going to need to do it unseen by them.”

 

Renamon responds with, “Of course.” Kyoto and Renamon then walks to the roof exit, opens the door, and exit the roof, closing the door behind them.

 

(Just outside of the `Valley of Lost Times'; by late in the morning)

 

We find all of our Odaiba Digidestined with many of their partner Digimon in either Champion form or Armored form, based on which form they can ride, at the edge of the dreaded `Valley of Lost Times'. Sora, Biyomon, and Tai are riding on Greymon, TK is on Pegasusmon, Matt, Mimi, and Palmon are on Garurumon, Ken, Wormmon, and Yolei are on Halsemon, Kari is riding on Nefertimon, Davis is on Raidramon, Izzy is on Kabuterimon's back, Joe is on Ikkakumon's back, and Cody is riding on Ankylomon's back. All of the Digidestined has backpacks on their back with survive gear for mountainous regions like the area that they are in. The `Valley of Lost Times' looks to be a deep chasm with a `passage' that you can walk down to, but it is cover in a thick and mysterious fog with an eerie `feel' to it.

 

Davis then asks his fellow Digidestined, in a serious tone, “Okay, is everyone got what we need?”

 

Ken then says, “We've got lanterns, flares, campfire starting, and everything that doesn't involve high-tech communication with the rest of our survival gear.”

 

Tai nods his head in understand and states, “Okay, everyone, we are going to try to stay as close as possible, but if we get separated, set up a place where you will be safe in this area and then try to signal the rest of us as best as you can.”

 

Joe says, “Right, Tai.”

 

TK then adds, “Everyone of us that's on a flying Digimon is going to try to stay in the area and see if we can get a `better view', but I don't think that's possible.” When everyone looks in the air, they see huge storm, lightning and thunder pitch black clouds, above the fog of the `Valley of Lost Times'.

 

Nefertimon then says, in agreement, “Yeah, if we go up too high, we would get shocked.”

 

Halsemon then says, “It looks like there is plenty of room for flying Digimon to maneuver around, but we better no take any chances.”

 

Yolei nods her head in agreement with her Digimon partner and says, “Good idea, Halsemon. We had just better take it nice and slow.”

 

Davis then exclaims, “Okay, everyone, let's move out!”

 

Tai tells Davis, with his classic grin, “Hey, Davis, this is just like the `old days', huh?”

 

Davis nods his head and says, “Yeah, I'm glad to be going on adventures to save the world with the whole team.”

 

Kari says, agreeing with her lover, “Me too, Dai-chan, it seemed like we were never separated.” All of the Odaiba Digidestined and their Digimon then march into the foggy `Valley of Lost Times'. What they didn't know is that Renamon and Kyoto is watching every one of the humans and Digimon enter the foggy and mysterious valley.

 

Renamon then asks, “They are heading into the `Valley of Lost Times', Kyoto. It is a Dead Zone, where electronic items, expect only the basic function of the digivice, to help Digimon partner digivolve, are totally useless.”

 

Kyoto tells Renamon, “I don't care, Renamon, if Motomiya goes into that valley, then I'm following him to get the answer of why we can't become the strongest.”

 

Renamon then responds, “Wherever you go, I will follow, Kyoto.”

 

Kyoto then states, “Thanks, Renamon.” Kyoto then takes out her D-3 digivice and it starts to glow with a bright light.

 

“Renamon digivolve to. . . Kyubimon!” Renamon cries out as she transforms into her Champion form of Kyubimon.

 

Kyoto then goes onto Kyubimon's back and then commands, “Follow them, Kyubimon.”

 

“Right!” Kyubimon responds and leaps off to follow the Odaiba Digidestined into the foggy and eerie valley.

 

(Deep within the valley; around noontime)

 

We find our Odaiba Digidestined and Digimon going through the valley on most of their Armored or Champion level Digimon, however, they are unable to see each other. Now, we go to our Digidestined of Miracles, Light, and their Armored Digimon, who had a strong rope tied around both of their waists. Davis decided to do this to allow both their Digimon to stay together and thus, allow our two Digidestined lovers to stay together.

 

Davis then asks Raidramon, “Raidramon, are you sure you don't mind?”

 

Raidramon then states, “At least no one can see that we have a rope tried around us.”

 

Nefertimon then says, “I agree that this is a good idea, but I agree with Raidramon that this is a little embarrassing.”

 

Kari tells her Digimon partner, “Come on, Nefertimon, it can't be that embarrassing. Personally, I can think of plenty of more things that are a lot more embarrassing.”

 

Davis then calls out to the others, “How are the rest of you doing?!”

 

Tai calls out to Davis, “We're doing fine, Davis! It's just this damn fog is making it impossible to see!”

 

Yolei then calls out from Halsemon, who is slightly in the air above the `ground team', “It is the same up here! Ken and I can barely see our hands in front of our faces!”

 

Sora then calls out, “Hey, Mimi, how are you, Palmon, Matt, and Garurumon doing back there?!” However, there is no answer, causing everyone to stop, and everyone looks behind them, but they can't see them even if they were in front of them.

 

Joe and Ikkakumon, who were the furthest back, looks around and unable to see Matt, Mimi, Palmon, and/or Garurumon, thanks to fog, Joe calls out, “Matt! Mimi! Palmon! Garurumon! Can any of you hear me?!” However, there is no response from the four in question and Joe then calls out, “Guys! We've lost Matt, Mimi, Palmon, and Garurumon!”

 

TK then calls out, worriedly, “Oh no! They could be anywhere in the valley!”

His name is SkullMammothmon, a skeleton Digimon, virus type, Mega level, this skeleton Digimon is larger than Mammoth and, even though he is just a bag of bones with a metal face-plate, he has greater weight than his Ultimate level counter-part and Ice Buster and Bone Crusher attack will make sure that anyone facing him gets six feet under in the fastest way possible!”

 

Tai then says, “Okay, this bag of bones is a Mega Digimon, but we got Mega Digimon, too!” Greymon and Garurumon then de-digivolve back to Agumon and Gabumon.

 

Davis then says, “Okay, Raidramon, you know what to do?” Raidramon then de-digivolves back to Veemon.

 

Matt and Tai then calls out, in unison, “Warp digivolve, now!” Matt's and Tai's digivices then send a beam of energy out that hit Agumon and Gabumon in the back, causing them to do back-flips.

 

“Agumon Warp Digivolve to . . .!” Agumon cries out as he warps through his Champion form, then through his Ultimate form, and ending up as a humanoid dinosaur with a metal face-plate, armored chestplate, armored gantlets with Dramon Destroyer claws, and armored kneepads. “WarGreymon!”

 

“Gabumon Warp Digivolve to . . .!” Gabumon yells out as he warp digivolves through his Garurumon form, then his WereGarurumon form, and ending up as a metallic version of Garurumon with Gabumon's body markings on the center of his metallic chest as well as jet-blade wings and tail. “MetalGarurumon!”

 

Davis then says, “Our turn, Veemon!”

 

Veemon then nods his head and replies, “Right, Davis!” Davis' D-3 Advanced digivice then blazes with a bright light. “Veemon digivolve to. . . ExVeemon!” Veemon exclaims as he transforms into his more muscular and larger Champion form.

 

Davis then asks Ken, “Ready, Ken?”

 

Ken holds up his new D-3 digivice and states, “You got it, Davis!” Davis' and Ken's digivices then send blue and green beams into the air that turn into a ring.

 

“ExVeemon . . .!” ExVeemon yells out as he flies into the ring.

 

“Stingmon . . .!” Stingmon calls out as he goes ExVeemon into the ring.

 

“DNA Digivolve to . . .!” both ExVeemon and Stingmon cry out as both of them go into the ring and fuse into insect-dragon hybrid Digimon. “Paildramon!”

 

“Paildramon Mega Digivolve to . . .!” Paildramon roars out as a blue beam of light in the form of a dragon wraps around his body and transform him into large black armored dragon Digimon with two large red wings and a cannon on his back. “Imperialdramon!”

 

“Imperialdramon Mode Change to . . .!” Imperialdramon calls out as he turns into a humanoid shape and his cannon going from his back into his right wrist. “Imperialdramon Fighter Mode!”

 

After their three digivolutions, WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode then fly forward to face SkullMammothmon and he states, “Now, face me warriors!”

 

WarGreymon cries out, “You've got it, you bag for bones! Try this! Terra Force!” WarGreymon then launches a huge orange sphere of energy that he gathered from all around him at SkullMammothmon.

 

MetalGarurumon then yells out, “Metal Wolf Claw!” MetalGarurumon then launches a breath of freezing energy from his mouth at SkullMammothmon. Both attacks slam into SkullMammothmon and cause one tremendous explosion, engulfing SkullMammothmon in a huge layer of smoke.

 

Tai then exclaims, happily, “Yeah, that will take care of that bag of bones!” But when the smoke clears, SkullMammothmon appears out of the smoke, intact and totally unharmed!

 

MetalGarurumon then states, in total disbelief, “I can't believe it! It didn't work!”

 

SkullMammothmon then calls out, “Foolish Digimon! Do you take me for a `common' Mega Digimon?! Ice Buster!” SkullMammothmon then launches ice stalactites from the metal end of his metallic tusk that slam into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon that send them flying into the temple wall and making them imprint the wall.

 

Cody then says, flabbergasted, “No way! He took out both MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon!”

 

Imperialdramon Fighter Mode then yells out, “Now, it is my turn! Time to take you out! Position Laser!” Imperialdramon Fighter Mode then fires the laser from his wrist that strikes SkullMammothmon, causing another huge explosion, and like last time, SkullMammothmon comes out unharmed. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode then says, “Impossible!”

 

SkullMammothmon then states, “Not to one as me, mighty warriors! I respect your power, heart, and determination, but I can't fail in my mission! Now, time to finish this battle!” SkullMammothmon then yells out, “Bone Crusher!” SkullMammothmon then launches two huge bones at Imperialdramon Fighter Mode that explode on contact with his body and when the smoke clears, Imperialdramon is still standing and able to fight, but he has suffered great damage.

 

Ken then asks, “Damn it! How are we going to win against that guy?!”

 

Davis then says, determined, “We beat Digimon like MaloMyotismon and Armageddemon and we can beat him!” Just then inspiration hits Davis like lightning and he exclaims, “That's it! We have one chance!” Davis then tells Tai and Matt, “Tai, you and Matt have to get WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon to become Omnimon and then have Omnimon transfer his power to Imperialdramon Fighter Mode!”

 

Izzy then exclaims, knowing what Davis is planning, “That's it! Imperialdramon Paladin Mode! He beat Armageddemon and with the power of Imperialdramon Fighter Mode and Omnimon combined together, he can beat SkullMammothmon!”

 

Tai then calls out to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, “Hear that?!”

 

WarGreymon then says, “You know it, Tai! Leave the first part to us!” WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon then glow as they are compassed by a large egg-like cocoon. “WarGreymon . . .!” WarGreymon calls out as his shield clamps together into one big shield with all of his data enters his helmet, and out of his helmet comes one arm with WarGreymon's shield on the shoulder of this arm.

 

“MetalGarurumon . . .!” MetalGarurumon yells out as his wings and his tail goes into his body, all of his data goes into his own helmet as well, and from that helmet, another arm extends out.

 

“DNA Digivolve to . . .!” WarGreymon's and MetalGarurumon's voices call out in unison as a white body and bright cape forms between the two arms. “Omnimon!”

 

Omnimon then tells Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, “Here you go, Imperialdramon! Take our power like last time! Take him down for all of us!” Omnimon then gives a bright golden glow, his WarGreymon arm and MetalGarurumon arm detach from his main body, both arms de-digivolve back to Agumon and Gabumon, and the rest of Omnimon turns into a beam of light that forms the Omni Sword in front of Imperialdramon Fighter Mode.

 

On pure instinct, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode takes the sword, he is engulfed a bright light and yells out, “Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. . . Mode Change to . . .!” Imperialdramon Fighter Mode's cannon then fades away and all of his armor and his wings turns from black or red into pure white color with the Omni Sword in his hands. “Imperialdramon Paladin Mode!” Imperialdramon Paladin Mode then charges SkullMammothmon with his Omni Sword in front.

 

SkullMammothmon then yells out, “I congratulate your determination Imperialdramon, but this battle comes to an end! Ice Breaker!” SkullMammothmon then fires ice stalactites from his trunk at Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, but they just bounce off his Omni Sword. SkullMammothmon then yells out, in disbelief, “What?!”

 

Imperialdramon Paladin Mode then declares, “You're right, SkullMammothmon! This battle is over. . . FOR YOU! Omni Sword!” Imperialdramon Paladin Mode impales SkullMammothmon in his metal helmet, causing to slowly and after two second, to rapidly crack and crumble and his data begin to break apart.

 

SkullMammothmon then says, in amazement, “Incredible. All of you had combined your powers into one. Truly you are the ones to take the temple secrets at long last. I have been cursed, here, waiting for the worthy ones to defeat me and take it. Now, I can be reborn into Primary Village and one day, start a new life. I have waited for this day for so long. Thank you, Digidestined, and to you, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode. The secrets of the temple are yours. They will reveal the place that you seek. . . Minerva. . .” SkullMammothmon's data then totally breaks apart and then a beam of light takes the data away.

 

Mimi then asks, a bit sad, “Where do you think that his data has gone?”

 

Matt then replies, “Back to Primary Village, where, hopefully, he will be reborn. After all these years, he has been cursed to guard this temple until someone destroys him and allows him to be reborn.”

 

Davis then says, in a serious tone, “Well, when he is reborn, we will have returned both worlds to their `true' states.”

 

Kari nods her head and says, “Good luck, SkullMammothmon.”

 

Tai then says, “Come on, everyone. Now that we have `freed' a Digimon from his curse, let's go find the secrets of this place.” The Odaiba Digidestined and their Digimon, who have which de-digivolve back to their default states, Champion for Gatomon, and Rookie for the rest, walk down the stairs to the inner sanctum of the temple's entrance, and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode lands in front of them and de-digivolves back to Veemon and Wormmon. But what they didn't notice is that two shadows, one Digimon and one female human riding on the Digimon's back, comes down from the same `entrance' that they did, and hides in the shadows for them.

 

(Another brief time later; Inside of the temple's `inner sanctum)

 

We find the Odaiba Digidestined and their Digimon in some kind of huge temple library with craving, sleeves of books, and other artifacts of all types, sizes, and everything in-between.

 

Matt then exclaims, in annoyance, “Damn! How are we going to find out what we need to know if you don't know what we are looking for in here?!”

 

Izzy then yells out, “Prodigious!” When everyone looks at Izzy, he is using his laptop computer to take pictures of a large map on the wall.

 

Yolei then asks, “What is it, Izzy?”

 

Izzy then looks at everyone and exclaims, “This is old map to the location of where Minerva is! I've got a record of recent map and I can figure out where Minerva is, now, based on this map and recent map!”

 

Tai then exclaims, happily, “Way to go, Izzy!”

 

Davis then says, “Okay, we better than gather some of these books, it could give us clues on the Ancient books! On the meanwhile, we can leave the work of deciphering the map to Izzy, Ken, Yolei, and Cody, while the rest of plan and gather supplies for our trip to Minerva.”

 

Matt nods his head and says, “Hey, good idea, Davis! You are on a roll, these days, Davis!”

 

Yolei calls out, a bit jokingly, “Our little Digidestined of Miracles has grown up!”

 

Davis then says, with some more joking sarcasm in his voice, “Ha. Ha. Funny, Yolei.” Everyone then has a good laugh from Yolei's and Davis' `comments'.

 

Sora then says, “I'm glad that all of us are together, again. This is just like the old days.”

 

Kari then states, “Yeah, Sora, I had nearly forgotten what adventures with all of us feel like.”

 

TK then smiles and says, “Okay, let's get what we need and let's get out of here!”

 

Just then Kyoto's voice calls out, “Not until I get what I want from Motomiya, there!”

 

Davis groans out, in annoyed tone, “Oh, great. Not her!” When everyone looks to the source of Kyoto's voice, they see her and Renamon with their arms crossed their chests and nasty looks on their face, through it is hard to tell on Renamon's face on a nearby stone ledge.

 

Tai then asks Davis, “Davis, is this the `troublemaker' that you had problems with yesterday?”

 

Davis nods his head and says, solemnly, “Unfortunately, yes. That's Kyoto and her Digimon, Renamon, two hard-core fighter team out to prove that they are the best.” Davis then yells out to Kyoto, “What in the hell are you doing following us?! I thought Veemon and I had told you to bug off!”

 

Kyoto then yells back, angrily, “We're not going to stop coming after you until you tell us what we are missing from becoming truly the best!”

 

Davis tells Kyoto, “Do you have earwax in your ears, girl?! Veemon and I told you to figure it out yourself since we've already told you!”

 

Kyoto roars at Davis, “That does it, Motomiya! Get ready for round two!” But when Kyoto stepped forward, she steps on a switch that opens the roof above her and Renamon. One second after, just like you would see in classic comedy cartoon, a spring the floor at their feet flings the two of them through the opening in the roof and the roof opening closes behind them. All of the Digidestined and Digimon sweatdrop at what just happened.

 

Yolei then says, nervously, “Okay . . . that was unexpected.”

 

Joe then says, “Who knew that ancient Digital World cultures had a `cartoon-like' sense of humor?”

 

Tai then states, “Let's be glad that she and Renamon are gone.”

 

Davis nods his head and says, “But knowing a girl and Digimon partner like them, they will be back. Let's just get out of here before she does come back.” All of the Odaiba Digidestined gathered as much as they could from the ancient temple library and took their leave from a backdoor.

 

(A forest some distance from the temple; on the meanwhile)

 

We find Kyoto, on Kyubimon's back, after they have recovered from that `trap' set in the library and they are heading back to Oceanous City.

 

Kyoto then thinks inside of her own mind, “You may have gotten lucky, Motomiya, but Kyubimon and I are not gotten rid of so easily! We will be back and we will get our answer!” Kyoto and Kyubimon then continue along the `path' through the forest to head back to Oceanous City.

 

Next time in Chapter 13: Final Preparations: Tai, Sora, Davis, Kari, and their Digimon continue to work at the DSA, but they have informed that they will be leaving for the `important mission' that they have been saving their money for. But Davis' friend, Serenity, not only approval of their leaving, she gives them funding for this `mission' for her own reasons! What are her reasons then? Well, let's just say that Davis and his Digidestined friends, human and Digimon, aren't the only ones that hate the slavery system in the Digital World. During this time, Tai and Sora, Mimi and Matt, Davis and Kari, and Yolei and Ken really `confide' in their feelings for each other. And soon enough, the big day arrives, Izzy, Cody, Ken, and Yolei have figured out the map and the location of the ancient Digital World city of Minerva is found! However, they, soon, find that the journey is going to be dangerous and then some, but as true heroes and heroines, they accept the mission without fail. Well, most of the team, anyway. Soon after, with the help and money that they gathered, our Odaiba Digidestined and their Digimon are ready to go. However, one certain hard-core Digidestined and her Digimon partner are not ready to allow Davis and Veemon to leave! How are they going to leave with Kyoto and Renamon on their backs?! Experience the romance, drama, action, and adventure on the next Digimon: Digital Monsters!

 

Sorry that this took so long to get out, but my family vacation to Williamsburg, Virginia, threw my timetable and that's why this took so long. I hope that this chapter was worth the wait! Plus, I'm sorry about the anti-climatic part with Kyoto and Renamon, but that idea was too funny to pass up! I got a few laughs from it! Anyway, this story might be taking a hiatus for a while since I'm getting a case of `writer's block' with this story, but I will have to see!
