"The welcome back dance is on Friday, are you going to go?" Amy asked Gohan.

"I don't know, it's not my scene," Gohan replied as they walked along the hallway.

"Oh," Amy's voice was disappointed, Gohan didn't notice.

"What about you?" Gohan asked.

"Well it's our last year, and I thought it would be nice to go, see what they are all about, you know," Amy hesitated.

"Yeah I suppose so," Gohan sighed. "So who are you going to go with?"

"I doubt anyone, no one's going to ask me out," Amy replied.

"Hey, don't be too hard on yourself, I'm sure someone will ask you out," Gohan tried to reassure her.

"Gohan I was thinking." Amy started.

"Thinking about what?" Gohan asked.

"I was thinking that we could go to the dance together. I mean just as friends." Amy added quickly.

"Um ok," Gohan agreed. "I see no harm in it." Amy smiled.

"We will have fun Gohan," Amy giggled and ran off onto the chemistry lab. Gohan had Physics next.

Cloud looked nervously at Hitomi's locker. It was the fourth day of school and the dance was only tomorrow. I shouldn't bother Cloud thought. She's probably got a date for the dance and not to mention she's one of my best friend's little sisters. He struggled with his emotions.

"So Zelda who are you going to the dance with?" he heard Hitomi ask the blonde haired girl.

"Zechs," she giggled.

"Zechs Marquise, the swimming champion," Hitomi said with delighted shock.

"Yeah, I was so shocked when he asked me out; he just came up to me and said that he had seen me around and that he would like to get to know me. Can you believe it?" Zelda asked in delight.

"No I can't," Hitomi squealed. "Zechs and Zelda, it has a ring to it."

"You're forgetting the most important thing," Zelda said anxiously.

"What's that?" Hitomi puzzled.

"He's a senior," she giggled. "So have you got a date?"

Hitomi hesitated. "No," she sounded disappointed.

"I'm sure you'll get one. I bet that guys are intimidated because you're so pretty or they think you've already got a date for the dance," Zelda comforted.

"You think," Hitomi said.

"I know," Zelda said. "So where are you're locker buddies?"

"Gym, thankfully," Hitomi sighed. "All they do is argue and drool and bad mouth. It's pathetic." Zelda nodded.

"Oh my..."Zelda whispered.

"What's wrong?" Hitomi asked.

"Mr Hunky President of the school is coming our way," Zelda whispered. Hitomi giggled.

"Hey girls," Cloud said casually.

"Hey Mr President," Zelda giggled.

"Hey Cloud," Hitomi said.

"Hitomi, could I talk to you for a moment?" Cloud asked hesitantly

"Sure Cloud," Hitomi smiled.

"Alone," Cloud said.

"Sure, Zelda I'll meet you at the tables near the mermaid fountain," Hitomi said and walked off with Cloud.

She followed Cloud to the president's room. The room was made especially for the president of the school. Hitomi was amazed by it; she had never been in this room. It was clean and very posh looking and also very spacious.

"So what do you want to talk to me about Cloud?" Hitomi asked.

"Well the welcome back dance is tomorrow and well even the president has to go and well I want to take the prettiest girl in the school. Well to me." Cloud hesitantly said.

Hitomi was feeling very giddily inside. Is he asking what I think he's asking? She thought.

"Hitomi what I'm trying to say is, will you go to the dance with me tomorrow? That's unless you already have a date," he asked.

"I'd love to," Hitomi replied. Her cheeks were glowing with delight. Cloud grinned.

"Really," Cloud asked astonished. She simply nodded. "I thought some other guy would have asked you out by now."

"No one's asked me, well you have," Hitomi said. "You could have picked another girl, why did you choose me?"

"Hitomi, you're smart, you're sweet and you're beautiful," Cloud blushed. Hitomi simply smiled. "So what time should I pick you up?"

"Eight, is that ok?" Hitomi asked.

"That's fine," Cloud replied.

"So have you got a date for the dance?" Heero asked Link.

"Yeah, I'm going with Garnet," Link replied.

"That's cheating," Heero said.

"How is that cheating?" Link asked.

"You guys are friends," Heero said.

"So it's someone to go with to the dance," Link said. "Who are you going with?"

"Madison (Cardcapters)," Heero nervously replied. "Look its Goten the prankster prince." He said diverting the conversation.

Everyone turned to look at Goten and congratulated him. "Thanks everyone," Goten said. He then saw Serena sitting next to Sakura. He couldn't believe she had asked him to the dance. He simply just walked past her without making eye contact. This was due to her brother Zechs Marquise hating him.

Mimi looked at Matt he was playing the harmonica. He seemed so lonely. Michelle appeared next to her sister. "I've got a date for the dance what about you?"

"Yeah I have," Mimi replied. She couldn't help staring at Matt he was just so mysterious.

Michelle noticed her sister's distance. "Are you ok?"

"I'm fine," Mimi shrugged of and she walked away.

Van sat at the lunch table in deep thought. Squall noticed this. "What you thinking about?" Squall asked.

"Nothing, I take it your taking Rinoa to the dance," Van said.

"Yep, I got no choice there," Squall sighed heavily. "So who are you taking?

"I don't know, I don't really care," Van replied. He then saw Rinoa come behind school.

"Hey sweetheart," Rinoa said and kissed his cheek and sat down.

"Hey honey," Squall said with a fake smile.

"I've got some juicy gossip," Rinoa squealed.

"Do tell," Squall said an uncaring voice.

"Hitomi is going to the dance with Cloud," Rinoa squealed with delight.

Van spit his food out due to shock. Van's expression wasn't nice. Squall looked at his brother and noticed his discomfort.

"Isn't it nice?" Rinoa asked.

"Yes, very nice," Squall said with no emotion. Squall had never seen his brother with pain written all over his face. Squall knew what he did to girls was wrong but the boy had some compassion. He loved his brothers. He never admitted it but they could tell and one thing he didn't like to see was either one of them upset. It didn't matter to him that they weren't his real brothers he would do anything for them.

I know it's a short chap but I can't make this one any longer as it just tells you who's going to the dance with whom. Anyway next chap will be very interesting.

Trowa is going with Tifa

Ryu is going with Selphie (FFVIII)

Sakura, Trunks, Van and anyone else are going by themselves.
