Author's Note: Does anybody know the name of Takeru and Iori's DNA Digivolved digimon? I know it's like a big china tea pot, but I can't remember his name. If you know, please leave it in a review. Thank you!
Chapter Twelve: Daemon's Defeat and Revelations
The next morning found Ken and Daisuke once again in the Digital World, scouting out another sector of the world, this time over water, and hunting for Daemon. They had decided that it was definitely best if the others located and helped destroy the evil digimon before they drove them out of the Digi-world altogether.
Daisuke pulled out his Digi-vice and checked for any out of the ordinary blips. Ken had come up with the brilliant idea-surprise, surprise-of loading Daemon's data into their `vices so that they could locate him easier. The only problem was that it only worked when they were practically on top of him, so they still had to scout the entire Digital World.
Catching Ken's glance, he shook his head in a negative. Daemon obviously wasn't here. He wasn't in the desert, or the forest, or the plains, or the mountains. They knew exactly where he wasn't, but all that was useless knowledge if they couldn't figure out where he was.
Let's see-no water, no mountains, no forests, no plains, and no deserts. What did that leave? Ah! Of course. How could they have missed something so obvious?! Ken grinned at Daisuke and stated, "You've figured something out." Daisuke just nodded and urged Raidramon to turn back around. "Where are we going?" demanded Ken, but Daisuke ignored him in favor of surprising him.
Quickly, they traveled back over the water and through the forest that lined the shores of the ocean, the followed the edge of the forest until they came to the mountains. Ken shot his friend a look and pointed out the obvious. "We've already been here. There's nothing in the mountains."
Daisuke just smirked. "That's a lie, and you know it, Ken-chan." When the bluenette just shot him a puzzled look, he dropped another hint. "Think about what you just said and where you're wrong, Ken-chan." Ken's eyes narrowed in suspicion, but his eyes lost focus slightly as he did what Dai had asked him to.
Suddenly comprehension dawned and he gasped, shooting a surprised look at Daisuke. "Of course, I said there's nothing `in' the mountains, but that's not true. There's nothing `on' the mountains, because we checked there; but these mountains must be full of caves. Daemon's actually hiding `inside' the mountains."
Daisuke grinned, pleased with Ken's quick thought, and nodded, suggesting that Ken be the one to e-mail the others and claim it as his discovery. After all, Daisuke couldn't possibly be that smart, could he?
Once that was completed, Ken grinned at his best friend. "Shall we go, Dai-pet?" he teased. "Or would you prefer to wait for the others here? Brain's choice."
Daisuke's eyes nodded at this last statement, and he mock-growled. "Call me a brain again and I'll kick you out of the Digital World too, sweetheart." Ken flinched at the nickname and glared at Daisuke half-heartedly. "You needn't be so mean about it, you know," he murmured crossly, but the cinnamon-haired boy just grinned cheekily back at him and didn't reply. Ken rolled his eyes good-naturedly and waited.
After a few seconds, Daisuke decided, "Let's stake out which cave he's in, then wait for the others. That way they can't blame us for starting the party without them, and we won't exhaust our digimon before they even arrive." Ken just nodded, and they set about doing just that. It appeared that Daemon had chosen well when he hid. The cave was nestled deep within the mountains, and was surrounded by viral-type digimon.
Ken and Daisuke quickly talked to the viruses and convinced them that staying out of the way when the Digidestined attacked was a good idea, so when the other Chosen arrived, there were no digimon in sight, viral or otherwise, unless it had a human partner.
Upon arrival, Takeru once again took over operations and ordered them to enter the caves all at once, two by two. Ken and Daisuke went first with Imperialdramon since their digimon was the strongest. Takeru and Iori went next, followed by Hikari and Miyako with Sylphimon.
Once the two lead boys had entered the cave, they shifted so that they were on the right side, against the wall. Takeru and Iori took the left, and Hikari and Miyako were set in the middle. Daisuke rolled his eyes at Ken. "Of course, let's use the two girls as bait, shall we? That way we can attack from the sides while he's distracted," he mocked bitterly.
Ken shot him a sharp look as he realized that that's exactly what Takeru was doing, whether he knew it or not. His prejudices were showing through and he was putting the `weaker sex' in the main line of fire. Hmm………they'd just have to correct that small oversight then.
Gesturing to the girls, he waited for them to move over towards him and Daisuke, then asked them to switch places, pointing out that Daemon was most likely to attack the people in the middle first, and it only made sense that Ken and Dai be in that position since they had the most powerful digimon.
The girls blinked and nodded, smiling as they took over on the right, while Daisuke and Ken moved to the middle with Imperialdramon as they traveled deeper into the cave where Daemon was hiding. Daisuke leaned forward and hissed in Ken's ear, making sure that they weren't overheard by the other Chosen, "What do you think you're doing, Ken?! What does it matter if they're in the middle and get attacked first, since we're going to attack them on our own anyway?"
Ken leaned back slightly, so that he was resting against Daisuke's chest. "Relax, Dai-pet," he murmured, pausing to grin when he felt a shiver run through the boy behind him at the nickname. "If we hadn't offered, they would have thought something was up. We're just playing the part, and my part is kindness as well as genius. Besides, Daemon's not interested in us, remember? As far as he knows, we're on his side and are leading the Digidestined straight to him."
Daisuke shot him a look that stated quite eloquently that that was `exactly' what they were doing, and Ken flashed another smile at him before facing forward once again.
A few minutes later, they entered into Daemon's lair to find him alone and unprotected, with his back turned to them. Apparently he had thought that the viral digimon stationed outside the cave would be enough. They were about to prove him wrong.
The cave was huge, which worked out rather well for the parties involved, especially Takeru and Iori as their digimon was rather large himself. The giant expanse suited Ken's and Daisuke's purpose as well, as it allowed them to shift out of the way easily and let the others take charge of the attack.
All three digimon shot their attacks at Daemon at the same time, but needless to say, it didn't do any damage. Although from the looks on everybody's face, they had been hoping for an easy battle. Now they no longer had even the element of surprise. Alerted to their presence from their clumsy attack, he whirled around and began calling forth his own dark flames, shooting them half-hazardly at the Digidestined, who evaded them easily, thanks to the size of the cavern they were in.
Daemon's eyes narrowed, then widened as he grinned triumphantly. Shooting one more blast of flames at the digimon, he simply disappeared. "Where'd he go?!" cried Takeru. Similar sentiments were echoed throughout the cavern. Daisuke's eyes narrowed marginally as he glanced around, muttering to himself, "He couldn't have gone through the front door, since we were watching that, so there must be a secret passage here somewhere that he used to escape in while we were dodging his attack-or else he's simply leading us into more cramped space where we can't attack so easily without risking hurting each other," and other such inane comments.
Ken just raised his eyebrows in amusement, then followed the smaller boy's example and searched for a hidden entrance while the others continued to mill about aimlessly.
A few seconds later, the Chosen were startled out of their own wandering thoughts as Ken gave a sharp cry. "There!" he called, pointing to the far end of the cavern. "There's a hidden niche over there that Daemon used to escape while we were distracted." Takeru called out his approval with a grin, and the Digidestined headed where Ken had gestured.
Leaning back again, Ken murmured, "Good job, Daisuke. Remind me to reward you properly when we're done here, all right, Dai-pet?" Daisuke practically purred with the pleasure that Ken's insinuation instilled in him. "I'll be sure to remind you, over and over again if need be, until you've given me a reward fitting of my services," he retorted cheekily, and Ken chuckled lowly under his breath.
Sure enough, the niche led to a tight path into another cavern, this one only about an eighth the size of the first one they had attacked in. Takeru and Iori's digimon barely fit into the cave standing up straight, and there wasn't much room for evasion. Daemon was facing them this time, and as soon as they had all entered, he shot out his dark flames once again, taunting, "Go ahead and avoid it this time if you can, Digi-brats. I'm going to destroy you all!"
Rolling their eyes, Ken and Daisuke ordered Imperialdramon to set up a shield around them while they talked with the others. Doing so, all the Chosen smirked when Daemon's flames swept all around them, without so much as singeing them.
Ken stated, "All right, guys. We're most likely only going to get one shot at this, so we'd best make it a good one. He's not going to let us get any more than that past his own defenses, so we're going to have to surprise him as well. Any suggestions?"
The other Chosen children shook their heads and Ken turned to Daisuke. "Well, Dai? Any suggestions?" Daisuke just nodded, then laid out his plan. The others didn't exactly look trusting, but agreed to try it when Ken pointed out that none of them had offered any suggestions, much less a better one. Besides, he thought it would work, and that was enough for the rest of them-Ken was an expert at strategizing.
Keeping the shield between them and Daemon, Imperialdramon quickly shifted to fighter mode. As a close-knit group, the three DNA evolved digimon drew closer to Daemon, who continued to launch an unending stream of flames at them, hoping to hit them as soon as they lost the shield. What he didn't expect was for them to bend the shield around over him, forcing him to cease fire or hit himself with his own flames.
As soon as he paused in order to break the shield, the Digidestined flew into a flurry of activity. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode hit the shield that he had erected around Daemon with his laser cannon, where it proved ineffective as it just circled around. Before Daemon could comment on their idiocy, the laser cannon was joined by Sylphimon's attack, and then by a third attack as Takeru and Iori took their positions.
Daemon just smirked, knowing that even if they could somehow manage to break through the shield they had put up around him, those three attacks weren't enough to harm him. Then he caught completely by surprise as all three digimon attacked a second time, then a third, mixing all their attacks together in an explosive ball of power. Before he could even attempt to erect any type of defense, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode dropped the shields, and all nine strikes hit him as one.
Shrieking his dismay, he howled out at the Digidestined, "This isn't over, Digidestined. You haven't seen the last of me!" Then he decimated into thousands of little data particles and vanished from the caves.
De-digivolving, Armadillomon digivolved into Digmon and drilled a hole out of the mountainside. Laughing triumphantly, the Chosen children and their partners paid no attention to the two boys behind them until they heard the cold, cruel voice behind. "Going somewhere, Digi-pests?" the voice hissed out, sounding vaguely amused, and the others whirled around, freezing at what they saw.
The Kaiser stood there in full garb, smirking at them from behind purple visors. Next to him stood Daisuke, and behind them Imperialdramon stood proud. Shocked into action, the Digidestined tried to digivolve their partners, but they were all too tired. They had done most of the fighting, and had gotten hit the most from Daemon's attack.
Comprehension slowly dawned, and it was Takeru who cried out, "You were on his side all along! I don't believe it!" Daisuke smirked at him. "You're wrong, again, T.P.," he sneered. "We weren't on his side, but he believed we were until the end when we dropped the shield protecting him. However, we aren't on your side either. Remember those attacks yesterday?" Noticing that they did, he continued, "We sent those digimon to you. They were all local, of course, but we did it none-the-less."
"But………why?" asked Hikari, searching their eyes for something. "Why are you against us? Why did you revert back to the Kaiser?" she addressed Ken. The Kaiser just snarled at her. "Why? Why?! I'll tell you why. It's because I followed him!" he hissed, gesturing towards Daisuke. "I love him, and I followed him. It's not me you should be talking to, it's him."
Hikari's eyes widened in surprise and she gasped, turning to Daisuke, a questioning look in her eyes. Daisuke sighed, "When you get back to the Real World, go to my house. You'll find the answer there if you're smart enough to see it."
Takeru stepped forward and hissed at them, "No! We aren't going back to the Real World without you two! There's no way in hell we're letting you stay here to wreak havoc on the Digital World. We've worked too hard to protect all the innocent digimon to hand them over to you."
Daisuke's eyes nodded menacingly and he took a step forward, then paused. "I see," he stated calmly. "If you won't go on your own when offered, then I suppose I have no other choice." With that, he let out a piercing cry, and moments later the Chosen found themselves surrounded by Viral-type digimon, who forced them to retreat, eventually pushing them back into the other world while the Kaiser and his consort watched.
Once they had been pushed through, Ken and Daisuke returned to their base and deactivated the other digivices, ensuring that it would be a while before those brats could return, since Ken was sure that Koushiro could reactivate them given time. For now, however, it was just them and the digimon, with no one and nothing to worry about.
Grinning, Daisuke turned to Ken. "Oi, Kai-chan," he murmured into the other boy's ear, "Do I get my reward now?" He nipped playfully at the shell of the taller boy's ear and moaned deep in his throat, causing Ken to stiffen and moan back at him. "Of course, Dai-pet, I promised you a reward, and I always keep my promises." With that, he held out his hand in front of him, behind Daisuke, who was sitting in his lap, and a collar and leash appeared there, which he quickly snapped onto his lover's throat.
Daisuke pulled back, then narrowed his eyes at the leash being held in the Kaiser's hand. "Hey!" he protested, "I don't mind you calling me Dai-pet, but isn't this a bit much?!" In retaliation, the Kaiser yanked on the leash, pulling Daisuke to him, and kissed the boy roughly, with bruising force.
Pulling back, he murmured, "Don't worry, Dai-pet. The fun's just begun, and if you're a good boy, I think you'll find that the reward will be much more pleasurable." Daisuke's eyes lit up at the promise and he let out a small bark, causing Ken to chuckle as he removed his visor and gave the leash a gentle tug, leading Daisuke towards the bedroom, where he'd get his reward.
All right, people, Chapter Twelve. I don't know if it's over yet or not. It could be, or I can continue. You'll have to let me know, okay? Thanks so much for all your reviews, and thanks for sticking with me this far. ^__^
