All you wanted…

Chapter 9: Hell hath no fury…

It was several minutes before Hikari had completely calmed down. She briefed her brother on her predicament as she had promised and Taichi gave similar answers as Tailmon did. But this time, he kept his temper in check knowing that his little sister was in no condition to argue. He refrained from using certain adjectives describing Tomoko and settled for the lesser G-rated descriptive words which brought a slight smile to Hikari's face. Who knew she'd still laugh at the name 'stupid-head'. She lightly punched her brother, but she knew he was trying hard not to swear at him for her sake.

Hikari was sitting at her kitchen table waiting patiently for her hot chocolate that Taichi had promised to make for her. She looked around the strangely vacant apartment and wondered where her parents had gone.

"Oh yeah, mom and dad are at Grandma's for the weekend. She threw her back again." Taichi informed. "They left some money for food and stuff in their room."

Hikari nodded, not particularly in the mood to speak.

Taichi finished making her warm drink and set it in front of her on top of a coaster. "Careful," he warned, "it's hot." He patted the top of her head and headed back towards the couch grabbing the remote.

Hikari carefully picked up the mug and coaster and took a seat next to her brother on the couch. He gave her a warm smile and continued to flick channels on the television.

**Ringgg Ringg**

Taichi mindlessly picked up the cordless, "Yagami residence, Taichi speaking." His eyes grew narrow as he recognized the voice. "Tomoko? Actually, Hikari's not…" he looked over at his sister who outreached her hand.

"It's alright." She spoke.

Tai gave her a 'are you sure' look and was answered by a faint nod. "Yeah, she's right here…" he spoke sternly and tossed the cordless beside his sister.

Hikari picked it up and placed her drink on the coffee table. She took a deep breathe before answering. "Hello?" She stood up and walked towards her room shutting her door; Taichi and Tailmon eyeing her the entire way.

"Tomoko?" she spoke softly into the receiver.

::Hey Hikari!:: He exclaimed, ::How are you?:: He sounded slightly intoxicated.

"Terrible." She breathed.

::Aw, that's too bad…:: his voice was slightly breaking from the static.

"Yeah, um, thanks for asking." She nodded, "Where are you?" she asked noticing the static breaking and the loud noise from the background.

::I'm at Shiro's party!:: he bellowed loudly.

Hikari's eyes widened, "I thought you said that we were suppose to go together?!" she exclaimed. "And I thought you said you were entertaining your friend from out of town?!" Her anger beginning to grow.

::What was that? You're breaking up…:: he inquired.

"I said, I thought we were going together!" She raised her voice.

::Oh, well you were still in detention so…whoa there where're you going?:: A slight giggle of another girl could be heard in the distance.

"Who was that?!" Hikari demanded.

::Huh?:: He was completely oblivious at this point, ::Oh yeah, I was saying you were in detention so I went along. I didn't think you'd mind…:: His words were slight slurs and accompanying that with the static, it was hard to understand his speech.

"So you just ditched me?!" Hikari felt her blood boil at this point.

:: I didn't ditch…hey, I'm talking to my girlfriend, I'll talk to you later…:: Hikari could hear the giggle of another girl in the background again, this time louder than before.

"Who is that?!" She demanded again.

::Hey, I'll call you back, babe.:: He cut off the line.

Hikari, at this point was completely infuriated; and this time, she didn't hide it. "BASTARD!!" she screamed from inside her room.

Meanwhile…at the other end of the door was Taichi and Tailmon. Taichi held a glass against the door and pressed his ear at it, while Tailmon sat on his shoulder pressing her own ear against Taichi's other one.

"Man, this is better than 'Jerry Springer'!" Taichi belted in glee. Finally, his sister had come to senses about that jerk boyfriend of hers.

"What are you so happy about? You're about to be ten bucks poorer." Tailmon uttered from his shoulder.

"That's because you called first bet!" Taichi exclaimed, "And to see her dump that no good piece of trash, I'll gladly even double the cash." He said with a huge smile on his face.

"I'm gonna hold you to that." Tailmon had a grin from ear to ear.

Hikari was infuriatingly angry and marched towards her door growling every swear word in the "ghetto" dictionary.

"She's coming!" Taichi panicked and rushed towards the living room. He jumped over and onto the couch and Tailmon followed full heel. He picked up a random magazine and pretended to be engrossed in it. Tailmon stayed on the top of the couch pretending to be asleep.

"Tai." Hikari heaved in an angry, yet controlled tone. "I need you to drive me somewhere."

"But I was just reading about…"he squinted to look at the magazine in front of him, "...the 20 ways to make your man go wild'?" He turned the magazine around to reveal a slightly seductive picture of Angelina Jole on the cover of 'Cosmopolitan' He shrieked and dropped the magazine.

Tailmon snickered a bit and Hikari gave her brother a queer look.

"No! It's not…" Taichi screamed.

"Whatever, none of my business, but can you please drive me somewhere?" Hikari asked making her way towards the kitchen.

"Yeah, sure. Where?" Taichi stood up.

"I have to take care of something." She stood in front of the opened refrigerator holding a carton of eggs. Hikari had an evil cut-eye look to her face.

Taichi was afraid to ask. He only complied and grabbed Tailmon as he followed Hikari out the door.

"This is gonna be a show…" He grinned maliciously carrying the cat on his shoulder.

Tailmon nodded.

The party…..

"Over here Tai…" Hikari ordered. Tai nodded over and pulled over near the rowdy house.

"I hope you weren't planning to come here." he eyed Hikari suspiciously.

"Not anymore." She huffed and climbed out the car.

"How about the eggs?" Tailmaon called from the backseat.

"Those are for later." Hikari called back.

She made her way inside the crowded house looking for Tomoko. She slid past several people making out and held her nose from the stench of the beer and smoke. Disgusting… She thought. She made her way past the sticky floor and all the way into the kitchen where she found him ogling a girl with skimpy clothing giggling like the complete moron; the way she'd always picture a girl like that to be like.

"Bastard." she growled under her breathe and marched towards him.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!?" Hikari grabbed a hold of him turning him around. He had the unpleasant aroma of beer covering him. Hikari cringed.

"Hey babe…" Tomoko's speech was somewhat slurred as he held on to 'trailer-trash-Barbie' with a free hand. "Didn't think you could make it." He gave Hikari a drunken smile.

Hikari was at a loss for words. She stared at him with loath.

"Hey…" he somewhat toppled forward, "this…this is Mika…(hic)…my friend from out of town." He winked at Hikari holding out a beer with his other hand. He was completely oblivious of any of his actions at this point.

"You PIG!" she screamed. "You were cheating on me the entire time?!" She half expected this, but it was still somewhat shock.

"What are you talking 'bout…(hic)…you gotta share the love." He laughed drunkenly squeezing the girl next to him. She seemed to be practically popping out of her scanty clothing.

Hikari was, in nature, the most understanding and calm person, but this, this was pushing that caution red button. Her normally, gentle ruby eyes were now a volcanic red, igniting into flames. She couldn't fathom the gall of him. That practically did it. She did something she had never done to anyone before. In blind rage, she lifted her hand in the air and in blinding speed, slapped him on the side of the face. It was a deep and red mark that left an imprint of her hand on the side of his left cheek. "Asshole!" she screamed and left the house just as fast as she'd entered.

She stormed towards her car and ordered Tai and Tailmon to come out. "Bring the eggs!" She demanded. Both Taichi and Tailmon complied without question seeing Hikari's state.

Hikari grabbed the full carton of eggs and marched straight for a certain newly polished sports car parked at the corner of the house. A smile that looked more evil than anything crept upon her face. At this point, not even the Dark Masters had anything on her. She was starting to feel better already.
