Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Cursed Love ❯ Brotherly Love ( Chapter 6 )

Kouji pulled on the reigns seeing the village doors open; the mustang slowed down as he was greeted by half of the villagers; he nodded his head to tell them that he was all right. By know the mustang was running in a canter motion. Kouji pulled the reigns again when they approached his house; some of the villagers stepped out of the way as he got off with the flower in his hand as he burst the door open and ran into the living room where the wise woman (who was sitting by Kouichi's right) looked up, her face straight.

"You've returned my child .... with the antidote .... quickly, it must be cooked in boiling water!"

"Right!"

The dark haired boy ran into the other room came back with a pot of water to see that the wise old lady had build a fire in the fire pit that was right in the middle of the room. Placing right above the fire and the old lady taking the flower and breaking it up into a small bowl then using what looked like a soup spoon; Kouji went to his brother side taking his hand, moving some strains away from his warm forehead. Taking the rag, getting wet again he started to wet down his brothers face; trying not let the tears that where treating to show. He had to have faith in his brother ... the only family he had left.

The elder looked over her shoulder at the twins and smiled sensing a lot of strong emotion; she then looked closer she saw something else .... fear. She then turned her attention back to what she was doing, putting the crushed flower in the boiling water and stirred it. Getting up she walked to the left side of Kouichi and knelt down.

"The danger is not over yet, my child ..."

Kouji looked into her eyes to see if she knew .... indeed she did. But how? She was always full of mystery ... he liked that fact that she never expected that much out of him. Why should she? He had a big responsibility to protect the village .... at the same time she treated the twins like they where her own children.

"Yes. I know ..."

The water started to boil when, The old lady got up, walked to the pot and poured the water in a wooden bowl, walked up lifted Kouichi's head .... just then a lot of commotion could be hard from outside ...

"Quickly! It went that way!"

"It's headed at the wise woman's house!"

"Go. I'll be all right."

Kouji nodded his head and ran out when one of the male villagers cried out for him to look behind him, the dark haired boy turned and his eyes widen in horror ... suddenly there was a battle cry, they all turned to see Takuya lunging for Kouji and they both went crashing to the ground leaving Shadowamon's fangs to hit the dirt causing black lines to show around his eyes his body partly extended out straight as if the pain froze his body. Takuya immediately got off Kouji getting back on all fours as if he was ready to pounce ... after a few moments struggling, Shadowamon managed to free him self looking dangerously at Takuya it's rattle snake like tail twitching ....

"Move." Shadowamon hissed in a low dangerous voice.

The Villagers watched in horror and confusion ... what was going on here?

"You have to through me if you want him!" Takuya snapped showing his fangs.

No way was he going to let the snake take Kouji ... the dark haired boy just watched with a worried/guilt in his eyes. This was the third time Takuya did something for him ... and all he had done was gave him the cold shoulder.

"You truly are a bad doggy," the snake hissed his tail still twitching.

"My name is Takuya," the half-digimon barked his fur sticking up, "or has your brain turned to mush!"

"Oh, I remember ..." then the snake paused looking closely at the boy, "still haven't broke the curse I see."

This made some of the villagers backed away with slight horror and disgust ....

"Now out of my way!!"

Shadowamon lunged for the half-digimon who rose to his feet ready to fight .... the snake was four feet away but Kouji got right in the way .... great horror showed on everyone's face to see that the dark haired boy had been bit on the arm. His painful cry made the snake backed away .... this caused everything to slow down to Takuya as he caught the shaking boy in his arms.

"Kouji! Why did you do that?"

It was more of demanded to know than a question ... laughter ran out causing Takuya to tens up his face turning dark with pure hate ... gently laying the shaking dark haired boy down the red haired half-digimon rose to his feet lifted his head up straight with nothing but pure hate and rage in his green/yellow eyes ...

"I've had it with you, Shadowamon!!" Takuya yelled in rage ...

Everyone backed with fear when the half-digimon became what looked like fire. He leaped into the air and pounced causing the snake like digimon to freeze in terror not even realizing that he was surrounded by the fire only seeing Takuya's raged eyes ...

"What's going on?" Came a familiar voice.

Everyone turned their heads to see what looked like a 12 year old blonde girl and behind her his head rested on his shoulder was Junpei looking very pale, his eyes looked total different; behind him, was Tomoki ...

"Tomoki!" Came a voice out of the crowd.

It was his mother; she ran up as he slipped off the horse and bounced into her welcome arms nuzzling his face in her shoulder inhaling her sent clinging onto her tightly.

"I missed you so much mom!"

"I missed you too honey ---"

There reunion was interrupted by a couple of battle cries coming from inside the ball of fire .... everyone turned their attention back to the fire as Izumi helped Junpei off the horse .... it took a lot of her strength to hold him as she sat him and then ran to Kouji but was stopped by some of the villager's men pointing arrows at her ... this caused Tomoki to fight out of his mothers arms and ran to his friend's aid.

"Leave her alone! She didn't to anything but helped get the flower!"

Just as the little boy said that the fire was gone, after the smoke cleared everyone stood there transfixed, the only person that stood there was Takuya, looking slightly hunched, his arms dangled to the side, his shoulders rising and falling indicating that he was breathing hard and every time he took a breath all his fangs could be seen.

"Arrest them!" One of the men said, "before any more of them spirits try to take over the village!"

Is Shadowamon really gone … and if he is … what's wrong with Junpei & Kouji …. and most of all did they make in time to save Kouichi's life? All this more in the next chapter.

NA: I really had fun writing this chapter and know it's 2:07 am right now and it's time for this person to got to bed even thought I'm not tired … the nice thing is that I don't have to worry about my parents since I live in my own apartment right now it's great!!!
