Episode 13- It Ends Tonight
Everyone was there in Daisuke's room watching him, they'd already made many failed attempts to make him stay, but the pleas fell on deaf ears, he was going whether they liked it or not. He had already gotten dressed, his guns were on a table, and the only thing he hadn't put on was the leather trench coat.
“Daisuke please…” Kasey begged.
“Look, it doesn't matter what you say, I'm going, this bitch messed with my friends and once she realizes I'm awake she'll start going after my family, all of this shit ends tonight.”
“We can protect the…” Amy started; even his old team was against him going.
“You can't and you know it. I'm going, you can either go with me or not. Look the reason I wanted all of you here was to tell you something, whether I live through this or not, this will be the last time I see any of you.”
“What, but…” His friends began to question.
“Shut up, because I came back, even though I knew I had enemies, I selfishly decided I could keep you all safe or maybe I thought no one would come after me… I can't keep you safe, and the ATD can't stay as my personal bodyguards. At that party me and Amy just barely stopped that team, Ken still got shot, I wouldn't have been able to stop them all myself. Even if we stop Dailia tonight, there are others, countless others. So if I live through this I won't be coming back either way, but I'm satisfied that I got to have a party with all of you, failed as it may have turned out, and…that I get to say good-bye this time around.”
“Davis…”
“My decision's final, just let me say good-bye, don't make it harder for me.” They all hesitantly nodded at his last request. They all said their last good-bye's, the mood of the whole room was just pure sadness, none of them wanted this, but they knew he was probably right, he couldn't protect them all and there would be more. Daisuke finally made his way to Kari, she was the only one he hadn't talked to.
“So, I guess this is it?” He joked, which he realized was a mistake; she had tears in her eyes, “I'm sorry, I was just…”
“Why does this have to be it?” Her voice cracked, the others noticed, they decided it was best to give them a moment alone.
“Kari, you know why, I already explained and deep in your heart you know I'm right.”
“I love you! Is that what you want me to say, I love you and we can make it work, you can STAY!”
“Kari, you're breaking my heart, I… don't love you, not more then a friend, as a friend I love you with all my heart, that's why I'm leaving.”
“That's bullshit Daisuke and we both know that.”
“It doesn't matter if it is, if I stay someday they'll get you and that…that alone is enough to kill me, they wouldn't have to. And these people, they'd do it in a heartbeat, without even thinking. I love you too much to see you hurt.”
“You know, that statement sounds familiar.” She had a faint smirk that shone on her face through all the sadness and tears. Daisuke put his hand on her face and wiped the tears away.
“You know I don't want to hurt you and you know I wouldn't do it unless I had a damn good reason, I'm leaving and I'm sorry.” She looked to the ground, he let go of her face, and she looked back up at him and closed her eyes. She leaned forward, “if I go through with that I don't think I could leave…” He grabbed his guns and quickly walked out. Her tears resumed as she fell back on the wall and slid to the floor.
“Let's go.” He didn't give his friends a second look; he just shoved his guns in his holsters and put the trench-coat on. The team filed in behind him, Michael, had already left to make preparations, there were two jet black SUV's waiting for them at the entrance of the hospital. Daisuke made one last glance upward hoping to see where his friends were. Kari could see him, he couldn't see her. He lied, he loved her, he never stopped loving her, he did love someone else, but he'd never stop loving her. He opened the door and got in.
“Okay, give me the situation.” He told them.
“Alright, it a two story abandoned hotel, there's a large lobby when you go in the front, kitchen through the back, and employee's entrances is on the sides. We don't think they have power, but they might have a generator, night-vision just-in-case. Aside from your personal side arms you're going to have two MP5KA4's each.”
“Bit much firepower don't you think?” Daisuke joked.
“Not for this bitch.” Daisuke laughed and agreed.
They continued going over the plans for another few minutes before they put some music on. Daisuke usually hated this tradition, but this time he felt it was appropriate. Drowning Pool started to fill the speakers of both SUV's, Bodies blasted. Normally he hated going in hoping to kill someone, but this was personal.
“Okay, Crimson, Sly, you're with me, we'll go in the front, Ice, Rage, Speed, you three are going in the back.” One of the trucks came to a quick stop in front, the other at the back. “Use the silencers…MOVE IN!” Quickly they all left the SUV's and in the darkness made their was inside, Daisuke's team encountered the first set of people, blood splatter from their bodies before they knew what hit them. “Three down.” Daisuke whispered over the radio.
“Three more.” Amy whispered back, Daisuke smirked, she was going to make this into a challenge.
Daisuke's team made their way through the lobby to the front stairs, they were right no power, it was pitch black, the way they loved it. Both teams cleared their way though the hotel, there were only a few rooms left. The two teams joined up, three rooms left, Daisuke motioned Sly and Crimson to clear one, Rage and Speed another, the last was his and Ice's. They all moved to their rooms, Daisuke was about to give the signal. The light flashed on, they all back out, blinded from the sudden light, Daisuke ripped his off, he'd hit the wall and dropped one of his guns, they other he had left hanging on his back, his eyes quickly adjusted and he grabbed a Berretta, Sly and Crimson didn't see it, they were still pulling their night-vision off, he shot the two people who exited the room, one had a muscle spasm and fired the gun, Sly was hit.
“Ahh!” He covered his mouth, “fuck it, they know we're here, go all out! Move in!” The teams busted through the door, Sly lay against the wall, body covered with blood, but still alive. Daisuke matched eyes with her, he fired first. Dailia went down, her eyes filled with anger, her face was deformed from Daisuke first bullet to the head and from the fire. He walked up to her as she lay on the floor, he kicked her gun away, “you don't ever fuck with my friends. And this time, I'll make goddamn sure you're fucking dead, whore.” He pulled the sub-machine gun off his back and fired, after he finished his face dripped with blood, it looked as though he cried blood. But if he was crying, it was happiness, it was over.
“Clear.” Crimson chimed over the radio, Speed's answer matched his. “Sly's alright, pissed, but he'll live.”
“We're clear too, it's finally over.” The team cheered over the success, Daisuke turned and walked out, Amy had gone to Sly's side. She looked over to him and stood. She smiled, his worries were over, and his friends were safe. He started over to the rest of the team. A smile shone on his face, Amy watched as time slowed, they both lost their smiles at the gunshot as it ricocheted off something after passing through its target. Blood splattered the wall, Daisuke watched as the other girl he loved dropped to her knees, one of the terrorists had taken a last shot at Daisuke, but he gave out right as he pulled the trigger and it hit Amy, through her heart. Daisuke fired his berretta at the man then dropped his gun and ran to Amy. Her eyes had already faded, he shut his eyes tight, tears fell, for the first time in 15 years he didn't stop his tears. He let them flow; she was dead in his arms.
“Man down!” The others kept yelling over the radio, everything faded out to him. His heart no longer had any happiness in it; he set her body down and removed his trench coat, laying it atop her body. He ignored everything the others said as he walked past. He walked through the lobby and dropped the guns and holsters, he walked out into the night where a light drizzle had started, and Daisuke hit his knees.
“FUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!” He slammed his fists on the pavement, then after a few minutes the rain came down full-force. He stood and started walking away…
