Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Digi-tamer Joana ❯ Nightshademon Arises ( Chapter 3 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Disclaimer: I don't own digimon tamers. I do own myself obviously though. And my name in this now is the Japanese form of my name, Joana Hiruru.

Nightshademon Arises

"Hmm," I said. It was 8:45 at night and I still had homework. I sat there in my pink bunny- print pajamas doing the oh-so dreaded math homework.

"Let's see. If a plane leaves the airport at 7:00 am and lands at 9:56 am, how long did the plane fly?" I read. I groaned and my head hit the desk.

The next day

I slowly walked out of my bedroom, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I looked around to see my older sister, Heather, asleep on the couch.

"Now that's what I call comfortable," I said sarcastically as I saw she was half on the couch and half off. I got my coat and headed out the door (I had changed into my clothes).

As I came outside, I saw a moving truck and some movers moving furniture into my apartment building. I then saw a boy that reminded me a lot of Davis from digimon only he had blond hair and blue eyes. He also had a different fashion sense than Davis. He was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and sandals. He also had black sunglasses tucked on top of his head. He reminded me of someone but I couldn't quite put my finger on who.

Narrators point of view

Nicholas Brendan (if you watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he's not who you might think. I just couldn't think of a better last name) looked over to see a girl with brown hair. Her bangs were the same length as her hair and she also had brown eyes. She was wearing a white t-shirt with a pink cherry blossom and japanese writing over the cherry blossom. She also wore purple jeans, pink sneakers, and pink tinted sunglasses that were tucked on top of her head. Nick walked over to her.

"Hi! I'm Nick," he greeted.

My point of view

I turned around as I heard someone walking towards me. I turned around to see the boy.

"Hi! I'm Nick," the boy greeted. I smiled.

"I'm Joana. Joana Hiruru," I answered. The boys eyes went wide. "What?"

"I-is that really you?" the boy asked.

"And I know you from…" I asked.

"Nicholas Brendan! Your best friend back in America," Nick answered. "You don't remember me?"

"No, because, I have a best friend and it isn't you," I answered. Nick took out a picture of two kids. He was about to show it to me when it started to fog up. Nick started to look worried but I simply put down my sunglasses and ran off.

"Digi-modify!" I yelled. I scanned a digi-volving card through my D-Power. "Digi-volution activate!"

"Digi-volution," the D-Power said. Apumon jumped into a ball of light.

"Apumon digi-volve to…" the data peeled away leaving Apumon looking like nothing but a field of data. Apumon stood up on her feet and started growing until she was about 3 times her original size. A light shined and Apumon appeared as a digimon with bare feet, pink and purple robes covering up everything but her eyes, her feet, and her hands which were covered by black gloves. "Samomon!" The fog cleared to reveal Devimon. I took out a card.

"Digi-modify!" I yelled, scanning the card. A light blasted as it went through my D-Power. "Hyper Wing activate!" Glowing white wings appeared on Samomon's back and she flew up. Samomon held out her hand.

"Ninja Sword!" she yelled out. A miniature sword appeared in Samomon's hand and began to grow. As soon as it looked like a normal sword, she struck Devimon with it. Without resistance, Devimon broke to data and Samomon absorbed it.

Narrator's point of view

Nick's eyes went wide as he watched Joana and Samomon. He rubbed his eyes and looked again to see that Samomon was glowing and soon, she went back to Apumon. Joana took Apumon in her arms and Apumon fell over as if she were a stuffed-animal. Nick quickly went inside with a backpack that seemed to have allergies…

My point of view

As I walked towards the new guy, he quickly ran towards the apartment building, a huge backpack on his back. I made a face. Sure, I remembered Nick. Who couldn't? The problem was, I didn't WANT to remember him. He was the kind of person that doesn't get what a first impression is for. When I first met him, he tore a hole in my Gatomon plushy, then threw it in the pool next to us for me to dive in and get. Of coarse, we became friends after that. Now that I think of it, he was the only friend I made when I lived in America. I think it was because I spent long hours talking to myself, staring at my toy D-3, hoping upon hope that it would bring me to the digi-world. During school, I would sometimes hold it up to the computer screen nearest to me and yell, "Digi-port open!", only to get the pity stares of my classmates. Of coarse, that all stopped one day when I discovered I was a digi-tamer.

Flash back

I stared at my broken toy D-3, then gave a death glare to a group of girls that were pointing at me and giggling.

"Maybe she'll finally be normal like us now that you broke that stupid toy, Melissa," an orange haired girl remarked. Melissa, a purple haired girl, smirked.

"Oh, she'll never be normal! I once heard her talking to her stuffed cat thing!" Melissa answered. I grabbed my backpack and ran out of the room, trying not to cry.

As I left the school, my backpack started to rip until finally, everything fell out and onto the sidewalk. I groaned and began to pick up my things when I came across what looked like a digi-vice. But I had never seen one like that. I picked it up and stared at it when Melissa grabbed it from me.

"So you got another one, eh?" she asked, coldly. I stood up and tried to grab it from her but she held it out of my reach. She grinned evilly. "I broke that last one and I'll break this one, too." Just as she was about to break it, it began to glow and somehow, it forced itself out of Melissa's hand and landed on the ground. I quickly picked it up and stared at it. It began to glow again until finally, a digi-egg appeared on the screen. Melissa sat up, a terrified look on her face.

"What the heck is that thing?" she asked. I grinned.

"My new and improved…" I paused, trying to think of a name. Then it hit me. "My new and improved D-Power." Melissa stood up and glared at me.

"You may have gotten me this time but I will pay you back for what you did. Just watch your back, Hiruru," Melissa said and stormed off.

End of flash back

I grinned as I remembered that day. Later, Melissa could be found hung up in a tree. How she had gotten there still is a mystery to me and anybody else that found out about that. I giggled slightly. I then remembered that I had Apumon in my arms and I put her down. Just then, a car drove up followed by a moving truck.

"Another new neighbor?" I asked. Just then, a girl with purple hair and piercing blue eyes came out. I knew this person. I was about ready to run off for my life, when the girl walked up to me.

"Joana Hiruru, I presume?" the girl asked, mockingly. I paused, picked up Apumon and smiled slightly.

"Correct as usual, Queen Melissa," I answered, also mockingly. Melissa smiled sweetly, which, in my opinion, made her look demented.

"I see you haven't given up on Digimon," she said, seeing the D-Power on my belt. I smiled a little more.

"And I see you still have that fake hair," I answered, just to make her a little mad. Melissa continued smiling.

"Well, it's the closest my mom would let me get to dying my hair," Melissa answered. I frowned.

"That wasn't a compliment!" I yelled at her. Melissa just continued smiling.

"Well, I've learned to just ignore it when people make fun of me. Maybe that's how you lasted through your time in America," Melissa answered. A girl on a bike then came catapulting into Melissa.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" the girl accused. I grinned as I saw who the person was.

"Hi, Rika," I greeted. I went to help her up. Melissa's mouth dropped in astonishment.

"You know her?" Melissa asked. I smiled slightly at Melissa as Rika rode off on her bike and I nodded. I reached into my pocket and took out my Digimon Cards.

"I met Rika at the Digimon Duel finals for Japan," I answered, then I held up a card. It was completely blue. "Oh, no. Excuse me. RIKA!!" I then ran off with Apumon.

"What's her problem?" Melissa asked. "And why does she carry around that stuffed guinea pig anyway?"

A little while later

Rika stared at the blue card that I had just shown her. Apumon, though, seemed to be very interested in trying to get Renamon to play. Renamon just looked down at the guinea pig digimon in her peaceful way.

"Wadaya think I should do with it?" I asked. Rika thought for a minute.

"You should keep it," Rika answered. "After all, you do know what it can do." Just then, in the tree above us, I heard a sneeze. I looked up to see my sister sitting there. Let me describe her. Her name's Heather and she's sixteen, so she can drive, which comes in handy. She has dark blond hair and blue eyes. And right now, she had a confused look on her face. Heather held up a dark purple D-Power.

"I found this on my desk. Is this one of your toys?" Heather asked. Apumon looked up and her face lit up.

"Ooh, pretty!" Apumon exclaimed. Heather then immediately fell from her place on the branch.

"Are you not telling me something, Joana Mae Hiruru?" Heather asked. I sweat dropped. Oh, no! She was using my full name. I either had to tell her everything right then and there. Or, I could run screaming on the back of Samomon. Nope, she knew where I sleep. That was not an option. I took out my D-Power. I then took out my deck of Digimon Cards. I took a random one out and looked at it.

"Hmm, speed," I told myself. I slashed it through my D-Power and Apumon started glowing.

"Ooh!" Apumon said before she started running. Problem was, she didn't wait for me.

"Joana Mae Hiruru!" Heather repeated. I would have to tell her everything. At that moment, Renamon decided to do the scary pop-out-of-nowhere thing. Heather wasn't fazed. Heather glared at Renamon until she backed off. I took a deep breath, and spilled my guts.

Ten minutes later

"I'm a Digimon Tamer? But I don't have a digimon!" Heather protested. I then pointed to the small egg-type thing on Heather D-Power. I then grabbed Heather sketch book. I flipped through the pages, then showed a picture to Rika and Heather.

"Three guesses to what her digimon will be!" Joana said as Rika stared at the picture of a small unicorn-type digimon. Heather showed the tension, and it didn't help that Nick decided to pop seemingly out of nowhere, a Veemon in his arms. Heather yelped.

"I got one, too! See!" Nick said, making everyone think he had been drinking too many Dr. Peppers.

"Now that's no fair! I wish I had my digimon!" Heather wailed, making me think that she had also partaken in the drink of Dr. Pepper (okay, I got the hyper out of me. Now I'm going to try to be serious.). Apumon then sped up to me, followed by Takato with Guilmon. I grinned slightly at my digimon, then took out my D-Power. Rika did the same just as it started to fog up.

"Takato," Guilmon said, turning to his tamer. "Shouldn't we help Rika and her friend?"

"Uh, right," Takato answered. He also took out his D-Power just as a digimon resembling Ladydevimon appeared out of the fog. Without thinking, I grabbed up Apumon and held tight to her.

"Joana, what's the matter?" Rika asked. I grabbed a card at random and saw that it was the Blue Card. I held it up, covering the area just below my left eye. I then threw it up in the air and it spun around until it came down and landed in my hand. Heather, on the other hand had just sat down where she was at the appearance of this digimon.

"Digi-modify!" I yelled, my voice echoing. "Matrix Digi-volution activate!" Apumon stopped jumping around and a pink light came down from the sky, surrounding her.

"Apumon Matrix Digi-volve to…" Apumon stood up on her hind legs, and started to grow until she had long, slender legs, and her fur was gone. A white light shined and surrounded her body, curving out, to form a beautiful, white dress. A pink light came up her legs, forming into long, pink boots. She held up her hands and a white light created wrist-long white gloves. Long, golden hair grew from her head, landing just short of the middle of her back. "Heavenmon!" the light cleared, only to reveal a glowing, white aura surrounded her. Takato, Rika, and I shielded our eyes from the light. I put down my sunglasses. Nightshademon just smiled.

"Ah, how impressive," she commented. "But I'm afraid, dear girl, that some fancy light and a nice look won't get you very far." she spread her arms. "Zone of Darkness!" at that moment, everything was swallowed up in darkness.

*the tamers group appears*

Joana: Will Nightshademon succeed in destroying the us? But what's this? A new digimon?

Heather: We can only hope it's my partner!

Jeri: That's on the next chapter of Digi-tamer Joana! Until then, Digi-modify! *everything goes dark*
