Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Digi-tamer Joana ❯ The Time is Ticking ( Chapter 4 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Disclaimer: Why do I put up with this? Oh, yeah, as my friend Vanessa a.k.a CalumonMelodyEfuimon would say, so I don't get sued. I don't own Digimon Tamers, but I do own myself (obviously) Apumon and all her forms, and the characters Nick and Melissa.

The Time is Ticking

Heavenmon stood proudly in front of Nightshademon. I smiled at the site of the ultimate form of Apumon. Nightshademon was about to attack again but Heavenmon held out her hand and Nightshademon stood frozen.

"Heaven's Destiny!" she yelled out. She held out her arms, her palms out, and a bright pink light came from them, sending Nightshademon flying off and out of site. With Nightshademon gone, Heavenmon started glowing and she de-digivolved back to Apumon. I sighed with relief and scooped up my digimon.

Later that day

Nick, Takato, Rika, Jeri, and the rest of the tamers sat in front of me. I stood in front of a green chalk board with all kinds of drawings on it. I wore my glasses, a white lab coat over my clothes, my hair in a tight bun, high heels, and I had a long pointer in my hand. I slapped it against the board to get everyone's attention.

"And now, let us begin," I said in a perfect example of an english accent. "Nightshademon, as seen here" I pointed to a picture of Nightshademon that I had drawn. "appears right after Myotismon, as seen here." I pointed to a poorly drawn picture of Myotismon that Apumon had drawn. "And what does this all mean? Anyone? Anyone?" Nick raised his hand.

"That they're going to steal all the Snickers bars so that the Snickerdoodle fairies won't have any to give to good little kids?" he attempted. I shook my head and tapped the pointer to my free hand a few times before I answered.

"No, my mentally challenged friend," I answered. "They aren't that cruel." the tamers started to laugh into their hands and I cleared my throat loudly to shut them up. "Myotismon said something about the day that I became a tamer, he was hurtled through to this dimension." I heard loud snoring and I saw that Kazu and Kenta were asleep, drooling buckets. I couldn't help but giggle a little. I cleared my throught and stood up straight again, slapping the pointer against the board, waking them up. "So, he thinks that I'm the key to get him back. We need to defeat Myotismon before he has a chance to get his pale hands on me, because for all we know, he might be right. And this might also mean" I looked around at each face, making sure they were paying attention. "that if he does get through, we'd have to go in after him."

"You mean, like, dimensional travel?" Heather asked. "Cool!" I shook my head.

"No, not cool," I answered. "Because if he opens the wrong dimension, we could end up somewhere that we can't get back out of." Most of the tamers gasped. I looked around once more.

"Are you sure you guys are up to it?" I asked, returning to my normal voice. The tamers nodded and I smiled. "Good."

"Joana Mae Hiruru!" my mother called from the living room. I flinched, but walked into the living room to see what my mother wanted.

"Yes, o mother of mine?" I asked innocently. My mother pointed to the couch and I saw that Apumon was sitting there, eating pop corn. Apumon was obviously oblivious to what was happening.

"Joana, may I ask something?" she questioned. I nodded my head. "Do you have any idea what that thing is?"

"A very realistic stuffed guinea pig?" I answered. My mother shook her head and I racked my brain for another excuse. "Would you believe me if I didn't know?" My mother again shook her head.

"I'm sure that you would know, especially with the fact that you're dressed up as a scientist and you were talking about something called Nightshademon in an english accent," she answered. I took a deep breath.

"Digimon," I answered, knowing that if I didn't tell the truth, I'd be here for a while. "She's a digimon."

"Joana, I believe you've been watching too much TV," was my mother's reply. I sighed with relief and immediately took Apumon in my arms and into my room.

"Apumon, what do you think you were doing?" I asked the little digimon as I carried her through the park in my arms. "My mom could've grounded me and it's all because of you!" Apumon scratched her head.

"I was eating pop corn," she answered. My eyes twitched and a vein practically popped out of my head. Heather and Fillymon were walking beside us and Fillymon giggled.

"I thought it was kinda funny," she answered.

"Funny like heck!" I answered. Apumon gasped as what I had just said. Before she could say anything, a scream was heard and a Devimon emerged from a patch of fog. I looked closely to see my mom trying to run away from him. I took out my digi-volution card and my D-Power, but immediately put them away as my mom ran up to us.

"What is that?" she asked, slightly out of breath (hey, she may be a grown up, but she's panicked!). Devimon started advancing on us and I took my D-Power out.

"Digi-modify!" I yelled. "Crest of Light, activate!" The Crest of Light shined and Devimon broke into data. The Crest turned back into a card and I blinked. "That was way too easy." I put the items away and looked up to see my mom giving me the "you'd better explain or else you're grounded" look.

I sighed as I closed the door to my room. If my mom hadn't seen Devimon with her own two eyes and me using my D-Power, she probably wouldn't have believed my story about the Digimon Tamers. She also would've threatened to send me to the school psychiatrist, knowing her. I then heard a squeal of astonishment coming from Heather's room, and I knew what was happening. I opened my door and looked down the hall and into Heather's room to see a field of data materializing into what looked like a chibi white unicorn. The chibi unicorn blinked her large blue eyes, then did what every digimon does when they find their partner.

"HI!" she exclaimed, bounding onto Heather. Heather danced around the house saying in a sing-song voice, "Fillymon, Fillymon, Fillymon!" She then stopped, and displayed a look on her face that was a mix between a blank and forlorn face.

"Joana, I have a D-Power, but I DON'T HAVE ANY MODIFY CARDS!" she exclaimed, looking close to tears. I sighed. I guess it was time for another trip to the game store.

Fillymon, as she had finally introduced herself as, sat contentedly on Heather's head. In the few minutes that she had been alive, she had made more noise than Apumon had in the two years I'd had her, although Fillymon seemed to have more brains. We finally approached the game store, only to be knocked down by someone I didn't recognize. I blinked as I looked at her.

"Melissa?" I asked the girl with brown hair and green eyes. She shook her head rapidly.

"I don't know who you're talking about," the girl answered, then went straight into the store without another word. The bell rang as she closed the door to the store, and Apumon smiled at the small ring.

"That reminds me of the sound that I hear just before the ice cream truck appears!" she exclaimed from her place on my head. She fell off, and clung her paws onto my white t-shirt that had a cherry-blossom on it. Heather stood up and dusted off her oversized blue t-shirt and black capris.

"I guess we should go in now," she stated obviously. Fillymon snorted some of Heather's hair out of her mouth, it having gotten there when the girl stood up. We entered the store, and were immediately bombarded by a group of panicked people running from it. I grumbled as I put my hair back into a ponytail. I looked over to see the store owners' 12-year-old boy holding a very scary mask in his hands.

"Maybe I shouldn't have jumped outta the backroom and said boo while wearing this mask," he said sheepishly. I rolled my eyes.

"Nice job, Kenji-baka," I scolded him. Kenji looked over and his face brightened. I cringed; ever since I had started coming here, Kenji, well, crush is not a strong enough word. Obsessed would be more correct. I blinked as Heather casually walked up to the display of Digimon cards and began pondering through the decks. As soon as she picked one, she began searching through the booster packs. Kenji rushed up to me and I pushed him aside. "Get outta my way, Kenji-baka. I gotta help Heather pick out cards." I then heard the door open and looked to see Nick. I put my head in my hands. "Oy-vey. I won't say it."

"Say what?" Apumon asked innocently. She was now sitting on Heather's shoulder looking at digimon cards, and Fillymon was on the other shoulder. I then heard a crash, and looked over to see Nick and Kenji on the ground, dazed. I sighed.

"Meeting of the minds, not a good thing," I then turned around to see Fillymon pushing Apumon off Heather's shoulder.

"Bungee jumping without the bungee!" she declared, shaking (you know, like a dog does after it gets a bath). I groaned.

"Am I the only sane person in this whole district?" I asked irritated. Heather then glared at me. "Let me rephrase that: Are HEATHER and I the only sane people in this whole district?" I sighed as I heard an explosion. "I rest my case."

I grabbed my D-Power up as a huge portal opened up. Myotismon and Nightshademon went in, and it began to close.

"Come on!" I yelled to the group of kids. We all followed Nightshademon and Myotismon in, and the portal closed.

Narrator's point of view: The Dragonball Z dimension

"Fu…" Goten and Trunks started. A small rip in the atmosphere appeared, but wasn't very noticeable. "sion…" the portal got bigger and everyone began to stare at it, except for Goten, Trunks, and Goku, of coarse. "Ahhh!" they yelled as some young teenagers came barreling out of the portal and right onto the chibis.

"Heather, get off me!" someone yelled from the bottom of the pile.

"I will, Joana, as soon as the feeling returns to my legs!" was the girl that was probably Heather's answer. "Joana, what's the matter?"

"Heather, I think Myotismon opened up the wrong dimension," Joana answered.

"But if we're not in the digimon season two dimension, where are we?" Nick asked as they got up.

"Uh, ever heard of Dragonball Z?" Joana replied.

"What is that thing?" Bulma demanded as Nightshademon appeared on top of the lookout.

"That, my friend, is Nightshademon," Heather answered.

"Fusion! Ha!" yelled Goten and Trunks. A brilliant light emitted and Gotenks soon emerged and immediately began to attack Nightshademon.
