Chapter Seven: Gone from Bad to Worse

(Lee's Pov)

The ray of the morning sun beamed in through the window when ....

"Morning!" My sister pepped, her face three inches away.

I hate when she does that. I groaned as I fell back allowing my arms land on either side, I turned my head to that Takato was not present. I immoderately sat up looked around the room.

"What's wrong?" Suzi asked.

"Takato! Where's Takato?"

She winced a hint of fear as she backed away from me. I sighed apologizing for being a little harsh.

"Lee?"

I looked up to see my partners walk in with concern in their eyes.

"Lee honey," my mom said sitting next to me, "we had to take Takato to the hospital. He slipped into a coma last night."

No! This can't be! After all my ounce of effort I put out it puts him into a coma. Now he might die and his Digimon.

Shit!

Guilmon!

I have to see if he's still here! I got up ran out of the room out of the house down the street five blocks to the park where the shake was. I know that Takato and Guilmon have some kind of connection. He can feel Guilmon's pain he's hurt.

I can remember when the Davs came. He was a mean vicious cat. It took no time at all for him to cream Renamon and Terriermon. When it was Growlmon's turn, he was being tossed him around like a rag doll. I turned to see Takato trying not to fall over as he waddled.

"Takato, what's wrong?" I asked.

"I can feel every hit."

And that's when it happened, he put his hand on his shoulder collapsed on the pavement.

"Takato!"

When he finally came too, he was so desperate to put that Davs out that Growlmon evolved to MegaGrowlmon and he had no problems taking care of that knotty cat. It was quite impressive to see the hole fight. They are both lucky to have each other. Takato really care's about Guilmon and vice versa.

"Lee!" Juir gasped as I entered the shak.

I turned to see Hirokazu and Kenta looking coldly at me. I looked down when two hands grabbed me by the caller yanked me up and slammed me to the wall. I looked wide-eyed to that it was Ruki. Fire was in her eyes.

"Ruki, calm down." Renamon said appearing by her side.

She glared at me moved her hand away from as I walked passed her to Guilmons side. He looked really bad. His body looked as though someone was trying to paint him a different color but slopped it on. He was heaving really badly too.

"This is all my fault! Non of this would have happened if I didn't run out on him!"

"... Is the little girl all right?" Guilmon asked in a scratchy dry voice looking up at me with soft eyes.

"She is. Thank you."

He reached out a shaky paw as I took it. He closed his eyes as his body started to turn into data as the air filled with gasps.

"Guimon, NO!" Terriermon panicked.

His hand stiffened as I seemed to tightened it as hard as I could. Terriermon started to cry, Juir lifted my partner up telling him that it's all right. I slitly turned my head to see that she had tears in her eyes too.

(Renamon's Pov)

I closed my eyes not wanting them to see the sadness in my eyes. Sad? Excuse me? Now why would I feel like that. I turned my head as I wrinkled my nose. Damnit! What's come over me? I should have had the pleasure of kicking his ass instead of that human contraption. I turned walked out followed by partner asking what the hell was wrong with me. I stopped closed my eyes again as I balled by fists.

"Nothings wrong."

"Don't lie to me!" She hissed a hit of sadness in her voice.

Why would she be sad? Ruki should be happy that Takato's not a tamer anymore. She all ways tells me that he's the worst tamer there is. But instead she is asking me.

"Ruki. Guilmon risked his life for another and I think we should honor that." I finally said looking up at the sky.

She walked to my side put her hand on my arm and we stood there in silence.

(Ruki Pov)

I asked if why she was acting a little strange than usual. Renamon stopped looked up the sky saying that nothing was wrong a hint of hurt and anger in her voice. I hate it when she lies to me! I glared at her saying that she was lying to me. She didn't move she still looked at the sky.

"Ruki," She finally said, "Guilmon risked his life for another and I think we should honor that."

I can see that she was shaking a little. I walked up out my hand on her arm. I turned my hand and looked up and winced at what I saw, her eyes where clouded over with pain. I hate it when she has that look.

Lee! You are going pay for this! I turned my head when I heard moaning sniffling from the background. The others walked out with blood shot eyes; now is my chance. I walked strait up to him and punched him right in the face really hard. Lee fell back on his butt. Blood coming out of his nose.

"Ruki! Why did you do that?" Juir hissed.

I narrowed my eyes at her as Renamon stood by my side. Kenta meowed like an angry cat saying we where going to get into a fight. I gave him a cold look turned and walked down the stairs with my partner following close behind.

(Juir Pov)

I couldn't believe that Ruki would do that. What right did she have and grudge did have to give Lee a nasty slap. I looked coldly at her as I stood in front of Lee to keep him from getting hurt. Kenta meowed like an angry saying that we where going to get into a fight. Ruki gave Kenta one cold look and walked off with her Digimon following close behind.

"Lee are you all right?" I asked turning around to see him rise.

He pushed me out of the way putting the top of his writs to his nose. I bit the bottom of my lip as I watched him walk down the stairs. I looked back at his Digimon who was out cold on his shoulder.

"Juir, you mind hitting rewind on the VCR and tell us what's going on?" Kenta asked his voice a little scratchy.

"It's a long story. I don't think I understand it myself ... Lee and Takato are trying to hold their love but it's not working ..."

"Oh."

" --- Sorry I have to go."

I immediately turned so that no one could see the pain I had for the two lovers. I know that I could ignore the whole thing but I couldn't. Takato's my friend and I love him. He's everything I wanted in a man, nice, respectful and cute. So was his Digimon Guilmon. He was soo cute, I couldn't resist him. I started to feel jealous that he, Ruki, and Lee had real Digimons of their own after that.

(Lee Pov)

When I walked in the house my little sister shrieked when she saw my bloody nose. My mom ran up and asked who hit me. I turned my head as I closed my eyes saying that one of my friends hit me on accident. Suzi looked at me sadly as my dad came with a wet cloth in his hand. Taking it I put it on my nose waked over to the couch lad my head down over the couch.

"Lee," My dad said sitting next to me, "Takato's parents called and they had bad news ..."

I sat up feeling more blood come out of my nose. Damnit! Why did Ruki hit me?

"He's not ..."

"No he's not dead but the Dr. don't think he's going to last much longer."

"Dad, I need to see him!"

"Of cores my son."

I got to my feet followed my dad out to the car. Once we got to the hospital, I asked what room he was in. The lady recognized me right off the bad saying that my boyfriend was in the same room. I ran down the hallway to room and stumbled on two sobbing parents. I slowly walked in to the right side of the bed as they looked at me with great pain and anger in their eyes. They both got to their feet and walked out closing the door behind them leaving my dying boyfriend and I alone.

"I - - - I'm sorry that I messed everything! I never wanted it to happen this way! Guilmon ... he's ... he's gone --- I'm sorry that you fell in love with such a cowered."

I was hoping that if I said something that I would get some sort of reaction out of him be he still laid that very still like stone. I can hear the EKG. monitor reading his heart as I touched his face, his face still felt really cold. Really wanted him to wake up so that I could at lest say good by to him when ...

"BEEEEEEEEEEEP!"

My heart merrily jumped out of my chest when I turned to see the lines on the monitor where going flat.

NOOOOOO!

I turned toward my boyfriend shaking quite hard telling him to wake up, but it was no use he was even colder than he was just a moment a go. The door burst open and three nurse came running in with my boyfriend's parents wide-eyed. I turned my head with tears in my eyes not even realizing that I was clutching onto boyfriend's lifeless body.

The nurse pulled me away as the other pulled the blanket over his beautiful face. I tried to tell them not to do that so I can take one last look of him but I couldn't bring my shaky voice out.

"Wait," Mrs. Matsuda blurted out walking to the bed.

What is she doing! I still tried to pull away but my body was still shaking after the shock. Mrs. Matsuda moved the covers down took the goggles from Takato's head and brought them close to her chest closing her eyes. She opened them again walking toward me. The nurse put her hands on my shoulders as Mrs. Matsuda bent down to one knee. She took my hand placing the goggles on them.

"I ---I can't take this ..." I choked.

"Then what do you want?"

" Takato to come back to me ..."

"I know hun," She whimpered pulling me into a hug.

Mrs. Matsuda held me close not wanting to let me go, I could tell she didn't. More tears formed under my eyelid as my started to shake. Then I pulled away realizing something, why where they being so nice to me again? I killed their only son they had and now they are giving me something that is meant to any value

His goggles.

I looked down at them. Memories started to hit me of all those times we shard from the moment we met to now. I turned around and ran dropping the goggles on the floor on prepuce.

"Lee, wait!"

Takato's mother ran me down to the lobby, she took my hand again placing the goggles on my paws.

"Takato would want you to have them. There's something else that I should tell you---" she paused placing the goggles on my head, "he loved you very much. You were his only true friend."

I started to cry even more. Mrs. Matsuda put her shaking arms around me as she stroked the back of my head. I started to feel shaky even more as the words rang in my ears. I looked up at the ceiling with tears still streaming down my face.

"I love you too Takato ...." I whispered.
