Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Digimon Tamers: Reconfigured ❯ The Leomon King ( Chapter 11 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

DIGIMON TAMERS: RECONFIGURED

DISCLAIMER: If you've seen it elsewhere, I don't own it.

Narrator: Alice's army struck again, appearing near a harbour. The Tamers went to fight them, but they couldn't win. Henry and Jeri managed to fight off Dragomon with an unexpected card combo, and Takato gained a Crest Card and digivolved Growlmon to delete Phantomon. The Tamers, minus Takato and Ashley, took a trip to HYPNOS, where they found out the Monster Makers were working on a secret project. Unfortunately, Henry couldn't control his temper and he attacked Yamaki. Meanwhile, Ashley told Takato that she had created Impmon herself. In exchange for that information, Takato told her what he had found out about Henry. That evening, Ashley gave Henry a parting gift (shot of Ashley slapping Henry) and left. So, where's she gonna stay now?

THEME

"The Leomon King" (Masahiko's partner. Battle against invisible foe!)

(Int, Ryo's house. Takato and Ryo are talking)

Ryo: You're kidding, right?

Takato: I'm not kidding. I wish I was, but I'm not.

Ryo: Jeri and Henry? I never saw that coming.

Takato: You didn't see it coming? Up until just a few hours ago I thought Jeri was my girlfriend.

Ryo: I wonder how Ashley's going to take this…

Takato: Ashley? You mean she likes Henry?

Ryo: Well, you might not have noticed, but I kind of caught on.

Takato: So, how do you think this is going to turn out?

(The D-Powers start beeping)

Ryo: Sounds like trouble.

Takato: Let's get going.

(Takato and Ryo rush out the door.)

[Ashley: Don't believe everything you hear, but we'll be right back.]

[Takato: Heads, TV, Tails, homework. Looks like it's back to Digimon.]

(Fade in on to Jeri talking to Mikiko)

Jeri: Now, I've got a playdate lined up for you this afternoon.

Mikiko: With who?

(there's a knock at the door)

Jeri: You'll see.

(Jeri opens the door and Henry comes in with Suzie)

Jeri: Mikiko, this is Suzie Wong.

Henry: Suzie, this is Masahiko Katou. Mikiko for short.

Jeri: Now, play nicely. We're just going to be upstairs.

Henry: But please don't disturb us.

(Henry and Jeri go upstairs)

Suzie: Bye bye, you two.

Mikiko: So, what do you want to do?

(Terriermon and Lopmon instinctively hide)

Suzie: Why don't we take a look around the house. You never know what you might find.

Mikiko (while opening a closet): I'm not sure what you think you're going to…

(Mikiko stops talking as he sees Leomon in there)

Mikiko: Who are you?

Suzie: Oh, hi Leomon.

Mikiko: You know this Digimon?

Suzie: Sure, he was your sister's old partner.

Leomon: I've heard a fair amount about you, Masahiko.

Mikiko: Oh, everyone just calls me Mikiko. It's kind of a nickname.

Leomon: Very well, (bowing) it is nice to meet you Mikiko.

Mikiko: Good to meet you too.

(Henry and Jeri come rushing down the stairs.)

Jeri: Sorry, you two, but we have to get going.

Suzie: Is there another Digimon attack?

Henry: Yes.

Suzie: I wanna go too.

Henry: Suzie, you're just too young and inexperienced.

Suzie: I'm supposed to gain experience by just sitting here while you have all the fun?

Jeri: Suzie, taming is not all fun and games.

Henry: If there's one person who knows that, it's Jeri.

Jeri: If I hadn't been a tamer, do you think I would have had any chance of being trapped by that blob of evil?

Suzie: I guess you're right, but Lopmon was a Deva and…

Jeri: Correction, Antylamon was a Deva. Antylamon was also an Ultimate, and we don't even know Lopmon's Champion stage.

Henry: I don't like to say this, Suzie, but you would probably get in the way. Now, we have to get going. Try to stay out of trouble.

(Henry and Jeri leave along with their Digimon)

Suzie: (Mocking) Try to stay out of trouble. (normal) Like I can do anything at all stuck here all day.

Mikiko: Are you going to follow them?

Suzie: Nah, too obvious.

Mikiko: What are you going to do then?

Suzie: Apparently nothing much.

(short pause)

Suzie: Have you ever seen a rabbit in a dress?

(Cut to Adam and Jake)

Adam: Jake, could I talk to you about something?

Jake: What?

Adam: Well, it's just kind of disconcerting having my brother's MSN name screaming out to everyone he knows that I'm in charge of saving the world.

Jake: Yeah?

Adam: Yeah. And I definitely don't like the implication that I'm not fit for the job.

Jake: Sorry for telling the truth.

Adam: You're dea…

(Adam's D-Power goes off)

Jake: I'm what?

Adam: Never mind now, I have more important things to deal with. Darkveemon, let's get going.

(Adam and Darkveemon rush out the door)

(Jake waits a few minutes then picks up the phone and dials a number.)

Jake: He's on his way. Sorry. I tried to delay him.

[Rika: It is in the cards that Digimon will be back.]

(Image: Static on Henry's TV)

C. Narrator: Henry experiences a horrific attack…

(Image: Static starts to clear away and image quickly cuts to a shocked Henry)

C. Narrator: …And stares into the eyes of terror.

(Image: Henry's image slides off screen, replaced by one of Jeri talking to Takato)

C. Narrator: Then, Jeri must confront her personal demons…

(Image: Jeri cornered by a Devimon)

C. Narrator: …Along with some sent by Alice.

Jeri: What do you want?

C. Narrator: Tune in next week for two all-new episodes of Digimon.]

[Kenta: We're back.

Kazu: Thank you, Captain Obvious.]

(Suzie and Mikiko are sitting around, not doing much of anything)

Mikiko: This is boring. Can't we do something?

Suzie: I would, but Lopmon disappeared the second I took out the dress.

Mikiko: What happened to looking around the house for surprises?

Suzie: I think you already found the biggest one.

(Suzie thinks for a bit)

Mikiko: Why don't we get Leomon out of there?

Suzie: Good idea.

(Mikiko opens the closet and finds Leomon apparently swiping at something with his sword. His opponent, however, is unseen.)

Suzie: Leomon, what are you doing?

Leomon: Close that door! It's getting away!

Suzie: I don't see anything.

Mikiko: What's getting…

(Mikiko is suddenly knocked down by an invisible force)

Leomon: There it goes.

Suzie: Did we do something wrong?

Leomon: Of course not, you had no way of knowing it was there.

Suzie: What is it anyways?

Leomon: Set your Digivice to a long-range radar scan and find the one that's not me or Lopmon.

(Suzie presses a button on her D-Power and suddenly a radar map appears over it like the identification usually does)

Suzie: Found it.

(Suzie's radar zeros in on the signal, turning to the identification screen. The Digimon being identified looks somewhat like a Bakemon covered in chains.)

Suzie: Ah, that's Poltermon, a Champion-stage Digimon with the power of temporary invisibility. If you can't fight what you can't see, you can at least tell where his (badly mispronounced) Earthal Orb attack is coming from.

Voice: That's Ethereal. As in Ethereal Orb!

(A glowing ball of pure energy flies toward Leomon, who reflects it with his sword.)

Leomon: Fist of the Beast King!

(Leomon fires his attack towards the spot the orb and voice came from. It doesn't hit anything.)

Voice: You'll have to be faster than that to hit me. Chains of Control!

(Leomon is suddenly and unexpectedly flung into the air)

Mikiko: What's happening?

(Leomon pulls out his sword and flies towards Mikiko. Mikiko ducks just in time.)

Suzie: Poltermon's controlling Leomon's movement.

Mikiko: What am I supposed to do?

Suzie: I don't know.

Voice: You've made a big mistake, pal.

(Lopmon leaps out from a bookshelf)

Lopmon: Blazing Ice!

(The attack hits and temporarily reveals the chain holding Leomon)

Suzie: Now break it!

Lopmon: Petite Twister!

(Lopmon's miniature tornado hits and breaks the chain.)

Lopmon: Now, take your best shot Leomon!

Leomon: (aiming at the source of the frozen chains) Fist of the Beast King!

(The attack clearly makes an impact, although Poltermon remains unseen)

Poltermon: (disembodied voice) So, you got a lucky shot. I'll bet that rabbit can't block nearly as well as Leomon. Ethereal Orb!

(The orb flies quickly towards Lopmon)

Suzie: Lopmon, look…

(The attack hits Lopmon, who starts breaking up)

Suzie: No!

Mikiko: Leomon, strike now!

Leomon: Suzie, turn on the radar again. I need you to be my eyes.

(Suzie turns the radar back on, and the dot for Poltermon is located right by the dot for Leomon)

Suzie: He's right behind you!

Leomon: Lion Sword!

(Leomon's slashing clearly hits something, and Poltermon phases into visibility. Suzie starts looking for a card to help Lopmon, who has almost completely broken up at this point.)

Suzie: Maybe this will work. Digimodify! Digivolution activate!

(The data floating above Lopmon is pulled back to her body)

DIGIVOLUTION

Lopmon: Lopmon, digivolve to…

(Lopmon becomes a larger Rabbit-like Digimon in a green martial-arts suit.

???: Turuiemon

Turuiemon: Lightning Kung-fu!

(Turuiemon leaps at Poltermon and executes some super-fast kicks and punches.

Leomon: Let me finish this one.

Turuiemon: No, he has to pay for nearly deleting me. Rabbit's Revenge!

(Turuiemon puts her hands together and fires a blast at Poltermon. Poltermon is still standing)

Leomon: Not quite.

Turuiemon: If we attack together…

Poltermon: Maybe I should just shut up those little brats. Etheral Orb!

(Poltermon's blast is fired towards Mikiko. Leomon blocks it with his sword and the remaining energy comes together in Mikiko's hand.)

Poltermon: That's not possible!

(Mikiko is seen holding a tan-coloured D-Power.)

Mikiko: Need a boost?

Leomon: Great.

Suzie/Mikiko: Digimodify! Power activate!

(Leomon and Turuiemon are powered up by the cards)

Poltermon: Mistress, get me out of here!

Leomon: Not likely. Fist of the Beast King!

Turuiemon: Rabbit's Revenge!

(The two attacks hit Poltermon, who is deleted.)

Suzie: Bye bye.

(Turuiemon reverts to Lopmon)

[Takato: Digimodify! Break activate!

Computerized Voice: Digimon will be right back]

COMMERCIALS

[Terriermon: Momentai, we're back!]

(Scene fades in on the Wong house the following evening. Suzie and Lopmon are talking.)

Suzie: Lopmon, you were amazing today. I didn't think you could do so well.

Lopmon: Thanks, I guess.

Suzie: I mean, Turuiemon was like some kind of Super-rabbit warrior. That was so cool. Plus, now Henry doesn't have an excuse for not bringing us to a fight. You're a great Digimon.

Lopmon: Uh, Suzie, could you loosen your grip a bit?

Suzie: Sorry.

(A slapping noise is heard off screen)

Suzie: Uh oh, sounds like Henry just tried something.

(Ashley is seen running past Suzie's door.)

Lopmon: What do you think is going on?

(A door is heard slamming shut.)

Suzie: Either Ashley found something disturbing, or Henry tried something stupid. Either way, I think Henry could use some comfort.

(Suzie and Lopmon go down the hall to Henry's room)

Henry: She's gone.

Terriermon: Cheer up, there are other girls out there. Not that you don't know that already. I mean that whole thing with Jeri…

Henry: Terriermon, if I wanted a morality lecture, I would tell dad about the situation.

Suzie: What's wrong, Henry?

Henry: Ashley just left. She said that someone who fooled his best friend like I fooled Takato didn't deserve any friends

Terriermon: What? She just said that you and Jeri shouldn't have been going behind his back and fu…

Henry: Terriermon!

Suzie: Well, at least one of us had a good day.

Henry: Really? What did you do?

Suzie: Lopmon digivolved to her Champion stage. And Turuiemon kicks all kinds of butt.

Henry: So, you're a full-fledged Tamer now?

Suzie: Yep, just like you.

Narrator: Man, talk about a big day. What's the next challenge for the Tamers? Find out next time on Digimon: Digital Monsters.

Wow, that may well be the most difficult chapter I've ever had to write. Partially because of the time-flops, partially because it mainly focused mainly on minor characters from the actual series, and partially because my freaking computer lost about half of the story when I almost had it finished the first time.

The timeline on this one may confuse some people. It started before "The Crest Cards" and ended shortly after "The Crest Cards". That said, this wasn't the worst time manipulation. "The Dark Mistress" started shortly after the end of "Dark Beast" amd ended around the same time as "His Own Worst Enemy".

Turuiemon is Lopmon's official Champion stage. Though she has never appeared in the anime, the description in this chapter was a description of her appearance in the card game. I was able to remember one of the English names of her attacks (Lightning Kung-Fu), yet couldn't remember the name for her "Violent Rock Rabbit", which I gave my own name to (Rabbit's Revenge). It didn't occur to me until later that my description of the former resembled the speedy fights in the "Blast Zone" from Dragon Ball Z and the latter resembled any number of energy attacks from the same series. One track mind, or just a coincidence. You, the reader, decide.

Now, with the current number, you would think we had all the Tamers we're going to need for the series. However, we haven't reached the crucial 21st episode yet, so there's at least one more coming (Examples of `rule of 21': Kari (intro), Ken (expand; Kindness), Jeri (expand; Leomon), Kouchi (intro; Duskmon))

Poltermon is my own creation. His powers are based on a Poltergeist; an invisible ghost with the ability to manipulate objects in the physical world. Except for the Ethereal Orb. I just thought that one was cool and ghostly.

Suzie's conversation with Lopmon at the end gives some indication of a somewhat less naive nature than expected. This is very much important for the story.

I don't hate my brother. When he's not acting like a total dick, he's a nice guy. So, why did I make him Alice's accomplice? I really can't tell you that yet.

Next Episode: "Ring of Terror" (Sadakomon's deadly look.. Cult horror brought to life!)
