AUTHOR'S NOTES:
Okay YAY! Chapter 12 makes it up and I introduce yet another suddenly thought up character…Raven the darkness digi-destined ^_^ She's… erm…rather strange… and er…quite desperate Hehehehehe! Anyway have fun with chapter 12… I'm looking to end this fic soon, maybe in about 3 or 4 chapters time, then I would of completed my first proper chapter fic! YAY!

DIGIMON: The Pure Darkness

LAST EPISODE:

KOUICHI - Takuya's funeral was harsh on us all but even harsher was the argument Kari and I had soon afterwards. To let the anger I had towards my own stupidity out I went one on one with the darkness as Duskmon but the darkness began winning...I would of been finished if Kari hadn't come along and used her light energy and love for me to help me escape...

...but what happened to that girl who I saw in the darkness...whoever she was?

Episode Twelve: - "The Girl from the Dark! Raven's Story!"

"Ack! Junpei how many chocolate bars have you eaten already?" kouji gasped as he approached his friend who was sat at the kitchen table with the others, quite a few chocolate wrappers were spread about him on the table. Junpei just blushed.

"Er... well I eat chocolate when I'm nervous..." he replied sheepishly, scratching his head absent-mindedly. Kouji just gave his friend a small smile and put a reassuring hand on his back.

"It's okay big guy..." Kouji told him. "...anyway you shouldn't be nervous, it's the rest of us that have to face the darkness one on one that should be nervous"

"Yeah I know..." Junpei sighed. "I....I just don't want to lose any of you"

"Oh how touching!" Rika sneered as she crossed her arms and looked away from the group, but then Ryo came up to her and put his arm around her.

"Oh don't be like that Pumpkin" he joked.

"Don't call me PUMPKIN!!!" With that rika turned around and slammed her fist straight into Ryo's nose making him fall to the floor in pure agony.

"Awwwwwww...don't you just think it's cute when they fight" Kouichi mocked. Rika just turned round to him and showed him her fist.

"Better be careful or you'll be next darkness boy!!!!"

"Okay! Okay! Everyone calm down!" Kouji announced signalling for everyone to be quiet. Once the group had stopped talking and began looking his way kouji began.

"Well we all know that the darkness is getting stronger by the day and soon will be the time when we have to face it together. Now I DO have a plan but for now I'm keeping that to myself, just so the darkness can't find it out. Now this will be very dangerous and there's a small chance we all won't make it... so whoever wants to back out...say so now..."

There was a small silence before Kari stepped forward.

"I think I speak for everyone here when we say that we're not backing out... no matter what happens we face this together"

She then looked back at kouichi as if getting approval for what she had just said. Kouichi just responded by winking and giving her a thumbs up.

"That's great!" Kouji replied, and then he turned towards the sofa making everyone's eyes follow him. There Ken sat, all on his own, not making a sound, not moving an inch.

"Ken?" Kouji began. "Are you in?"

After a long pause ken replied.

"You'd be better off without me..."

"Ack! Ken are you crazy!" Junpei snapped standing up quickly and slamming his fist onto the table almost knocking the table over with the sheer force of it. "Your friends need your help! And all you can do is feel sorry for yourself!"

"Junepi calm down..." Kouji told his friend. "If he doesn't want to go he doesn't have to..."

"Well...okay..." Junpei murmured as he slumped back into his chair. Ken just sighed and hung his head even lower so he was looking at the floor beneath his feet. He wanted to help but he just couldn't risk another accident like the one a few days earlier, he didn't want anyone else to suffer because of him.

"So this is the place..." a girl sneered happily to herself as she looked up at the dorm building kouji lived in. This was the same girl he had bumped into that morning at the coffee shop. With that she slowly made her way into the building.

The knock on the door of kouji's dorm room came as a surprise to everyone inside as most of the team were there already so no one knew who could be visiting. After exchanging strange looks with his friends kouji opened the door and a familiar looking girl just strolled straight in.

"Ooooooh! The light child lives in style!" she commented as she wandered around the dorm not really paying attention to anyone else in the room.

"Your the girl from this morning" Kouji said as he shut the door. "Erm...do you...want something?"

"Not really..." the girl replied. "...actually it's you who want something but don't really know it"

"What could we possibly want for you?" Rika snorted. The girl just turned around and glared at them with an amused look on her face.

"Information about the darkness, like how it came to be and what it wants..."

Everyone else gasped as they swarmed around her wanting to know more about what she knew.

"You know something about the darkness?" Kouji asked, the girl just nodded then winked at him.

"My names Raven O' Malley, darkness digi-destined at your service!"

"Darkness digi-destined...like...me?" Kouichi asked pointing to himself.

"Yeah kinda...but I was part of that girls group of Chosen children..." Raven responded gesturing towards Kari. "Infact both my brother and I were... we had the darkness crest..."

"The darkness crest?" Kari repeated in shock. "But how come we never saw you or your brother?"

"Riley and I worked on our own with our digimon... we didn't like having company... but unfortunately this whole "darkness" business that's about now....kinda comes down to him..." Riley lifted her head up towards the window as she began to remember back to when she and her brother were about eighteen, around a year back from the current date. "Riley had developed an interest in magic... but the more he got into it, the more out of control and power mad he got. At age 18 he was creating very powerful spells and I could tell he was getting carried away with it. One day... he decided to do a spell which let darkness do your bidding, whatever you wanted...and he wanted revenge, revenge against the people who were hurting him during that time of our lives...our parents mostly they were going through a rough part in their marriage and their arguments really got to riley...

...he began the spell but halfway something went wrong... he couldn't control the darkness and it took him away, absorbed him... it was the darkness inside Riley which finally made the pure darkness be strong enough to be able to move about...posses people....and such.... and it was out for revenge... revenge against anyone, it doesn't care who... so a year after it had been made stronger it came to one place there were lots of people...

...the tobia college!

I followed it here but eventually it took me into itself too and for a few months it just...went around the college following people getting the scope of the place...then it decided to put it's plan into action..."

"And that's when it started possessing and attacking people..." Kouji said.

"And created that horrible virus..." Kari added on.

"Bingo! I tried to stop it but it was too strong for my mind alone... I was sure it would end up absorbing me like my brother but luckily Kouichi there came along and when he attacked the darkness with that one final blow he also released me..."

"Wow! so that's the story ey?" said ryo looking pretty amazed. "The pure darkness is actually fuelled by a person's own darkness toward other people... the pure darkness is still kind of acting on his wishes... but just not on the specific people he wanted..."

"Yes! So now we must destroy it..." Raven added on.

"But...what about your brother...?" Kari asked. Raven just looked at her with a stern look on her face.

"He's long gone...he can't be saved" She then looked at kouji. "When the darkness tried to poses you I sensed all the light energy in you...it's enough to make the darkness wary of you... I'm guessing you have a plan on how to use this to your advantage"

Kouji just nodded at Raven giving her the answer she needed.

"We attack tomorrow morning... at 8am..." he finally said to her.

Raven exchanged glances with kouji before she began moving towards the door. As she opened it she looked back at the small group.

"Good luck to you all" she told them before she finally left.

"oooooooookay! That was weird!" Junpei remarked.

"Weird or not... at least we know some stuff about it now" Kouji replied to his friend.

"What? Are you telling me your actually gonna believe that nutcase!?!" Junpei snapped back, Kouji just shrugged at his friend.

"Well we might aswell..." With that he looked at everyone else around the room who were all watching him with eager eyes. "As I said we start our attack tomorrow morning at eight... I advise everyone to have a good nights sleep tonight... we've got a LONG day ahead of us"

"Wow I can't believe we have to fight to save the world again..." kari told Kouichi later that night as he walked her back to her dorm room. "...it seems so long ago when the others and I went against MaloMyotismon..."

"Yeah seems strange..." agreed Kouichi. "I mean Cherubimon and Lucemon seem nothing next to this thing..."

Soon they found themselves outside Kari's dorm room. Kari unlocked the door and stepped in before facing kouichi.

"Guess I'll see you tomorrow then..." she said, not really looking sure whether she wanted to leave Kouichi or not. Kouichi nodded slowly with the same look on his face as his eyes wandered to the floor, but as he felt the warm touch of Kari's hand become intertwined with his he soon looked up at her again.

"Stay with me tonight..." she told him as her pleading eyes looked at his. "I just don't want to be on my own and... this could be the last night we ever get to spend...together..."

"Don't be like that..." Kouichi replied with a soft tone in his voice, but as Kari's eyes began to fill up with tears he realized that she was right. With that he nodded at her answering her question before following her into the dorm.

Later that night Kouji was sat by the table on his own, deep in thought about the next day, his dorm now deserted. He had just come out of the shower so his long hair was loose down his back, still damp from the water.

Suddenly a vigorous knock as his dorm room door brought him back to reality so with a sigh he got up to answer it. Behind it was Raven.

"I didn't think I'd be seeing you again" he murmured to her as he stepped back to let her in.

"Arh, I was gonna hitch a train ride somewhere far away from here but I thought I could lend...moral support or...something" Raven replied. She then looked at kouji and narrowed her eyes. "I know what your plan is against the darkness and I know if it's dangerous for anyone it's you..."

"How in the hell do you know?" Kouji asked sounding surprised.

"Oh I have a good eye for these things..." Raven told him. "Or I'm a good guesser...either way. So I came by to see if you wanted anything at all...like a final wish in case something happens to you tomorrow..."

Raven was now getting rather too close to kouji for his liking as he backed off slightly and bumped into the kitchen counter.

"Er...want something...?" he stuttered nervously. "Nope...nothing I can think of..."

"Are you sure...?" Raven asked now in a very low seductive tone.

Kouji's face expression changed from a very nervous look to a very serious one as he pushed raven gently away from him, walked over to the door and opened it. Behind it Junpei stood with his fist up, as he was about to knock on the door as his friend opened it.

"Look Raven I just want to be on my own tonight okay" he told her. Raven just sneered at kouji before she clenched her fists and stomped out of the door pushing Junpei aside as she did.

"Pah! Won't take my offer of a passionate night with yours truly will ya! Pah Men..."

Kouji and Junpei watched nervously as she stomped down the corridor murmuring continually to herself before turning the corner right at the end.

"Was she really desperate or was it just me?" Kouji asked.

"Defiantly desperate..." junpei replied. He then turned to Kouji and gave him a huge smile. "Then again who can resist you koujilocks, you look pretty cute with ya hair down!!!"

With that Junpei sniggered at his own silly joke as he walked into Kouji's dorm with Kouji rolling his eyes with a sigh and following shutting the door behind him.

"So were you serious when you said you would rather be on your own tonight?" Junpei asked as he wondered around the dorm. Kouji just shrugged.

"I think I just said that to get rid of her. Why?"

"Oh I'm just...having trouble sleeping..." Junpei replied as he fiddled with some strange figurine Kouji had on the windowsill. "...and the people at the dorm I'm in now kinda... keep asking what's wrong with me...it was driving me crazy"

"Well you're free to stay here tonight," Kouji told his friend. Junpei just turned around and smiled.

"Thanks pal"

"No problem"

Kouichi sighed as he looked up at the clock situated on the wall of Kari's small living room before looking back at the girl sleeping in his arms.

They had only been dating one day and already he felt like he could never let Kari go, he wished moments like the one now could just last forever but he knew if the darkness had it's way... then this may very well be the last night they spend together.

Kouichi's gaze then slowly broke from Kari and looked over at the TV, which lit up the dark room. There was just some late night chat show on so Kouichi quickly turned it off by the remote before grabbing a blanket from the arm chair behind him and pulled it over them both before wrapping his arms around Kari to keep her warm and secretly vowed to keep her safe through the mission against the darkness, no matter what!

NEXT EPISODE: -

RYO - The day of the mission against the darkness has arrived and we're all quite anxious about what the outcome maybe, but when we get into some trouble inside the darkness some unexpected help comes in for form of HueStingmon...but soon the darkness starts playing with all of our minds and attempts to split us up in an effort to make us weaker...

...can we all survive the darkness and it's mind tricks?
