"Ouch!" Takeru yelped, jumping off his horse. Ruki had given him a hard pinch. As Takeru started quarreling with Ruki, the others sweatdropped.

"Calm down," Yamato of Trebond and Contè said as he put his hand on Takeru's shoulder.

Hikari, who had a great sense of hearing giggled at what she heard.

DQ: Cut! Change scene!

That night at the ball, Yamato stood at the side, calculating his next escape when a ruffle of leaves made him look out the window. A girl's figure inside a Ninja suit was barely visible. He swung out of the window, grabbed a vine and knocked the figure down.

He saw the uncovered eyes, looking angrily at him. He pressed a cold knife against her throat and asked whether she was a spy. She refused to answer, so Yamato brought down his dagger. That was when she kicked his shins and with agileness of a monkey, she climbed back up the wall and swung into one of the large windows.

Yamato crouched down and swore. He went back into the ball, wanting to inform King Takaishi about the mysterious girl in the Ninja suit. As he rushed to the chair where King Takaishi was talking to Ambassador Daisuke, the two ladies of Tusaine were announced. Everyone looked at the big door as the two ladies entered.

One of them was Princess Hikari and the other one was a stranger. Yamato stared intently at them and he suddenly stepped back with a gasp as he noticed the stranger's eyes. They were the eyes that he had seen not long ago. They were beautiful, yet cold.

As the King led his Queen down to the dance floor, the royal families picked a partner to dance with.

Takeru calmly offered his hand to Hikari, who shyly accepted.

And baby, you're never gonna see us apart… … … …

As the song played on ,many people asked Ayaka to dance with them, but she flatly refused. Yamato decided to ask her for a dance and see whether he could charm her.

As Yamato began to say, "may I…?"

Ayaka stood up and sighed. She let Yamato lead her to the dance floor.

I'm all about you… … … …

The song ended and Yamato took Ayaka to the terrace, where they could see a breathtaking view of Tortall.

Takeru led Hikari to two empty chairs. Takeru asked her nervously, actually knowing the answer already, "So… you're Princess Hikari?"

Hikari looked away and nodded. "Are you Prince Takeru?" she questioned.

He rolled his eyes and made it look so obvious that he was disgusted by the question.

He asked again, " Who was the stranger with you?"

"Oh, that was Lady Ayaka of Eldorne, my adopted sister. Her parents died, defending Tusaine against the immortals."

Takeru shuddered at this, as he remembered his terrifying experience with Spidrens and Stormwings.

DQ: So… how's this chapter? Good? Bad? Please give us REVIEWS. We didn't finish th song because we were listening to the song and are not really sure about the lyrics.
