History of a Dog
Chapter 1: Introductions

Someone once said that a stray dog is cursed to be a stray dog till he dies. For me this couldn't be truer. I was orphaned when I was born. I grew up in an orphanage but I never made many friends. A few of the other kids had digimon. The others all chattered about what digimon they wished they could have. I was too busy creating my own digimon, Inumon. Then one day I found it. That blue card changed everything. It brought Inumon into the real world.

The day that I found it was the same day that I found a d-arc. The d-arc was yellow with a white grip on one side. The other side had the card read. The screen was ringed in red and the clothe strap attached to the device was black. The blue card was sitting on the ground next to the d-arc. I decided that I'd slide the card through and see if it would tell me who the owner was.

There was a bright flash and I shielded my eyes. When the light faded I saw a large dog sitting in front of me. He had yellow fur and a patch of red on his chest. His black eyes were calm and he smiled.

“Hello Unari. My name is Inumon,” he said nodding.

“What?” I was too stupefied to think of something else.

“I am your digimon partner. You are my tamer,” He said calmly.

A huge smile spread across my face. I lunged at Inumon and hugged him. I finally had a true friend. The Orphanage director was a kind lady, and she let me keep Inumon. Inumon quickly became more then just a partner or friend, he became my family. The first time I had Inumon digivolve was pretty exciting. We were fighting this kid with a Garurumon.

“You're not going to win,” the kid said to me.

“Just watch. Inumon, skewer this punk!” I shouted excited to finally have a challenge.

“Icicle Wind!” Inumon shouted.

With a breathe of fog he shot an icicle at the Garurumon. The Garurumon took the shot head on. Then the other kid made the Garurumon digivolve.

“Garurumon digivolve to…Weregarurumon!” the angel said towering over Inumon.

I pulled out a digivolve card that I'd just traded another orphan for.

“Inumon digivolve to…Weremon!” Weremon cracked his knuckles.

Inumon didn't change much. He stood on his back legs and he looked more like a wolf. He had actual hands and even a pair of pants. I'd based him on Weregarurumon, but now he looked nothing like a Weregarurumon. Weird how fate works, huh? Weremon didn't give the Garurumon much of a chance to fight.

“Ice Claw!” Weremon shouted throwing a punch with his spiked fist.

Weremon's speed was phenomenal. Inumon had been quick. Weremon was fast. I could only imagine how cool his next form would be. The Garurumon hadn't even hit the ground before Weremon attacked again.

“Ice Claw!” He shouted throwing another punch, “Ice Claw! Ice Claw! Ice Claw!”

“No! Garurumon! Fine! If you want to play like that then here!” the kid shouted making his Garurumon digivolve further.

“Garurumon digivolve to…Weregarurumon!” the Weregarurumon was what I had been waiting for.

“My turn! Let's do Weremon!” I pulled out the blue card and slid it through.

“Weremon digivolve to…Ookamimon,” Ookamimon smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

Talk about fast. Ookamimon was nothing but a blur as he rushed the Weregarurumon.

“Lightning Barrage!” He shouted and turned into a flurry of punches and kicks.

The Weregarurumon and his tamer never stood a chance against me and Ookamimon. Weregarurumon collapsed and Ookamimon turned around and changed back into Inumon.

“Guess we win,” I said scratching Inumon behind the ears.

The other kid glared daggers at me and then did something that I wasn't expecting. He punched me square in the face. He cracked my nose, but didn't get a chance beyond that. I was on him in seconds throwing punch after punch. When Inumon finally pulled me off him, his entire face was one big bruise.

It would be years before I got a chance to fight again. This time though it wasn't so easy. I was up against a kid with an Agumon. We'd both gotten our Ultimate level digimon ready to go.

“Giga Blaster!” the Metalgreymon shouted launching a pair of missiles from his chest.

Ookamimon just stood there with his arms crossed. He jumped out of the way with his blurry speed. Then he was at the Metalgreymon's feet. He jumped onto its knee then ran up its back and onto its head.

“Ever heard the saying the bigger they are?” He smiled this smile that he only does when he's enjoying a fight, “Freezing Wind!”

A small whirlwind appeared around his hand that turned into an icicle. This icicle He launched at the Metalgreymon's forehead. The icicle embedded itself in the metal “skull” of the Metalgreymon. The digimon cried out in pain and clawed at its forehead trying to get the freezing pain out.

“Lightning Barrage!” Ookamimon shouted pummeling the digimon's head.

Finally He stopped and dropped to the ground. Then something happened that I sure as hell wasn't expecting.

“Metalgreymon bio-merge to…Wargreymon!” the digimon and his tamer were now one and a mega level.

“Crap,” I curse knowing that Ookamimon wasn't strong enough to take that thing on.

He was fast enough, but he didn't have the muscle to deal with something like this. The Wargreymon launched attack after attack and Ookamimon dodged all of them, but every attack that he did wouldn't even scratch the digimon's armor. Finally Ookamimon was too tired to dodge. Wargreymon charged up another attack.

“I win,” he said but didn't launch the attack, “You guys can leave. There's no reason to finish it.”

I cursed and I saw that Ookamimon was about to launch an attack. That's when they appeared. The Exterminators and the Nightmare Soldiers.

To be continued…
