History of a Dog

Chapter 2: Challenging the Canine Knight

 

I watched as Chaosmetalgarurumon and Havocomnimon landed with an army of nightmare soldiers. The wargreymon and his tamer took off leaving me and Ookamimon there to try and figure out a way out.

 

“Ookamimon, can you fight?” I whispered.

 

“Yeah. but not too well,” he growled frustrated.

 

“Can you clear a path for us?”

 

“I don't have enough power.”

 

That's when I remembered that the Exterminators could regenerate. Two years before the day that I met Chaosmetalgarurumon and Havocomnimon the man Crowly who'd created everything had taken control of the planet. On top of that I'd been forced to separate from my band mates. We'd all sort of formed this surrogate family since we all didn't really have our own. “Distortion Wave” was our name. The three of us had become outlaws and now it was looking like I was going to be eliminated. Before I could do some real harm.

 

“Take them into custody,” Havocomnimon commanded.

 

“The hell you'll take us! Get `em Ookamimon!” I shouted.

 

Ookamimon rushed the exterminators with his blurring speed and took the heads off several. I followed as close behind as I could. He was simply trying to clear a path for us so we could get some time to think of a better plan. Finally through the exterminators I heard the attack come.

 

“Fear!” the blast hit Ookamimon in the back.

 

Everything seemed to slow down in the few seconds it took Ookamimon to fall to the ground. I rushed and pulled his arm over my shoulder to try and carry him. Just as I got to my feet another energy blast from Chaosmetalgarurumon came flying at me. As the blast filled my vision I closed my eyes and a single thought ran through my head.

 

“I never got to meet my parents,” and then I felt weightless.

 

At first I thought I was dead. Then I felt gravity take hold of me again. I looked around and saw darkness. I looked down and saw myself glowing.

 

“Ookamimon?” I called out.

 

“Unari. I was worried about you. We've digivolved together,” Inumon's voice said, “Our name is Lancemon now.”

 

“Lancemon huh? Kick ass,” my joy couldn't be contained.

 

Then my new eyes opened and I looked at my opponents. Havocomnimon and Chaosmetalgarurumon stared at me in shock.

 

“So who's first?” I asked.

 

“Die! Sword of Darkness!” Havocomnimon shouted trying to hit me with his sword.

 

I brought my arm up. It was a blur to me so I could only imagine what it must have looked like, moving through the air, to Havocomnimon. I blocked his attack easily and then an attack came to me.

 

“Wolf Howl!” A blast of energy came from my mouth and threw Havocomnimon through the air.

 

“Damn you!” Chaosmetalgarurumon growled and then shouted, “Giga Destruction!”

 

All of Chaosmetalgarurumon's missals came flying at me. That's when I got a good look at just how fast I was as Lancemon. I'd thought Ookamimon was fast. Lancemon was truly phenomenal. I easily dodged Chaosmetalgarurumon's attack. I couldn't help but smile as I rushed him and delivered a kick to his face. Ookamimon had plenty of speed to take on a Mega level Digimon like Wargreymon, but he didn't have the muscle. Lancemon? He had more then enough speed, and enough muscle to take Wargreymon apart. Havocomnimon and Chaosmetalgarurumon didn't stand a chance against me now. I made it clear to them as the exterminator surrounded me and prepared to obliterate me.

 

“Canine Sweep!” I shouted.

 

I spun and a spiral of energy came from the tip of my lance and went out slicing clean through all the exterminators.

 

When I stopped I smiled and said, “Care to try this dance again?”

 

Havocomnimon and Chaosmetalgarurumon launched attacks at me.

 

“Chaos Cannon!” Havocomnimon's shouted.

 

“Giga Destruction!” Chaosmetalgarurumon shouted at the same time.

 

I sighed, “All right. Canine Assualt!”

 

Now I was truly impressed. I'd never actually thought out Lancemon simply given him a name. I felt a surge of power course through my body and found myself moving almost too fast to even see what I was doing. I rushed forward and then stopped in a kneeling position. Havocomnimon and Chaosmetalgarurumon turned around laughing then screamed in pain. I looked over my shoulder and watched as they clutched their bleeding sides. The flew off into the night and I knew I'd see them again. I stood and looked at myself in a window. I was dressed in yellow armor with a red chest plate. My lance looked like polished steel. Inumon and I separated and began looking for a place to spend the oncoming night.

 

We soon found a group of children walking into a warehouse. Inumon and I decided to follow them. Inside the kids all went through a portal that led to the digital world. Once there a girl named Ebony started talking about an attack on Crowly. I didn't pay too much attention. When it was over we went back to the warehouse. There we were given food, the first decent meal I'd been given in a long time. And then Inumon and I went to sleep. The next morning I went outside and saw evidence of a battle all over. I asked a few of the kids what had happened. They told me that some guy had taken on two nightmare soldiers at the same time and driven them off. I wasn't too impressed so I didn't try and meet the guy.

 

After being fed a second time we marched off toward Crowly's building. There were no Nightmare Soldiers, no Exterminators, nothing, as we marched. Finally we reached the building and I saw why we had met no opposition. Crowly stood there with his nightmarish creation, Necromon, floating beside him. I watched as this guy in a long black coat rushed up the stairs with this black lizard behind him. After a bit he threw a punch at Crowly. Crowly and Necromon bio-merged and the guys lizard turned in a knight in black armor. The new monster was the fucking devil incarnate!

 

Inumon and I bio-merged. We began trying to grab as many of the kids as we could. It wasn't easy since everytime Crowly knocked the knight to the ground he wasted no time in killing the kids and Digimon. Finally the kids that I'd been able to save were gathered in an abandoned building. There Inumon and I separated and I looked at all of them.

 

“You've seen what Crowly can do. He won't just let you guys go live the rest of your lives. I'd tell you to fight back, but that's suicide. Do what you can to live. Come on Inumon,” I said walking out the door.

 

I soon found myself on a bridge over a river. I stopped and looked over the side. I saw my reflection in the water. I had on my blue jeans and white T-shirt. My leather jacket had some dust on it. I brushed it off and then sighed.

 

“So what do I do now Inumon? What can we do against that monster?” I asked looking at him.
