History of a Fox
Chapter 1: Creation

My name is Byakko Kitsune. This is my story. I was born here in Neo Tokyo. Sorry, Mega Neonopolis. I'm still getting used to the new name. About two years ago, this man named Crowly began taking control of the entire planet. With his exterminator's and the Nightmare Soldiers, he quickly gained power. He didn't need them though. With the monster that he created, he could have taken the world in seconds. NO one knows how he created that, thing, but it doesn't really matter.

My story starts normal enough. I was born, I grew up, and eventually found my digital Partner around he age of twelve. My partner is Kitsumon. He's a three-tailed fox that walks on all fours. He has gray fur with a white belly. He's powerful, but that's only his rookie form. I'm getting of track though. Two years ago, Crowly decreed that all Digimon and tamers must be registered.

Rumor will always permeate the human psyche. The rumor that I've heard the most is that there are two, other then myself, that aren't registered. We are called outlaws and I think I know the identity of the other two. I was part of a band until two years ago when we were forced to break up, because of the registration. Our name was “Distortion Wave” and there were three of us. I'd taken to spending my days in my “Hideout”. My story really begins one particular day.

There was a pounding at the metal door to my Hideout. I hit a button and several TVs came on. I wasn't too shocked to see the exterminators standing there. What did amaze me was that Ladydevimon and Necrogallantmon were standing there.

“Kitsumon. We're leaving,” I said jumping up.

I slipped my gray button up shirt over my white T-shirt. My shirt was tucked into my khaki cargo pants. I pulled the silver chain that hung from my neck off. I place it in my pocket, I couldn't have in jingling. Kitsumon and I went up the catwalk of the warehouse to the second floor. There I leaned out on of the broken windows. I waited and watched them. The door to the warehouse was in an alley.

“Break it down!” Necrogallantmon shouted.

The Exterminators began blasting the door. Finally, it went down and I jumped. I crashed through the window just as the door hit masking the sound. Kitsumon followed almost immediately after me. Then we went down to the basement. In the basement, there was a manhole. I opened it and we dropped into the sewer. We went along one of the tunnels walking along one of the ledges.

Eventually we came to a large opening. Here was my back up hideout. I flipped on the screens and amazingly didn't see anything. No Exterminators no Nightmare Soldiers.

It his me too late, “Kitsumon!”

“Lightning Joust!” The blast went shooting past me.

“You thought you could escape us?” Ladydevimon smiled at me, “How naïve.”

I pulled out my d-arc. They weren't going to take us down without a fight. I pulled out a digivolve card and slid it through.

“Kitsumon digivolve to…Gingitsumon,” Gingitsumon smiled.

I'd seen Gingitsumon before. He stood on his back legs. His fur was silver and he had five tails instead of three. His blue eyes were now red, a very impressive sight.

“Do it!” I shouted as focused on our opponents that I failed to notice the glow from my pocket.

“Silver Fire Flash!” Gingitsumon shouted gathering fire in his hands and then throwing it.

The Nightmare Soldiers dodged the ensuing blast but just barely. Gingitsumon didn't let up.

“Silver Fire Flash!” This time he combined two of the blasts and launched it.

Both Nightmare Soldiers were singed when they came out. Then it happened.

“Lightning Joust!” Necrogallantmon was too close for Gingitsumon to dodge.

Gingitsumon went flying back. I reached into my pocket to try and dig for something that would help him. What I pulled out was a solid blue card that I'd never seen before. Something in my head told me to swipe the card before it was too late. With little hesitation, I swiped it and prayed the Gingitsumon would make it out of this.

“Gingitsumon digivolve to…Furukitsumon,” Furukitsumon was just as confused as I was.

This new form was not what I had expected. Furukitsumon was completely white. He was hunched over like an old man. He leaned on a gnarled staff and had a long white beard. His eyes were closed or at least closed enough that I couldn't see them. Finally Furukitsumon had grown two more tails for a total of seven.

“Well then. Shall we continue?” Furukitsumon asked.

“Die!” Necrogallantmon shouted driving his lance forward.

Furukitsumon dodge it easily.

“You are far too impulsive. But then such is the nature of youth,” Furukitsumon said calmly.

Necrogallantmon began trying to impale Furukitsumon on his lance with thrust after thrust. Furukitsumon simply dodged each attack. Necrogallantmon eventually backed Furukitsumon into a corner.

“Now you die!” Necrogallantmon shouted bringing his lance back.

“Not for a long while,” Furukitsumon opened his eyes and I saw the intense look in them, “Fox tail illusion!”

There were suddenly five Furukitsumon.

“Ha! I still know where you are!” Necrogallantmon shouted piercing the Furukitsumon in front of him.

That one vanished, a fake.

“You will die! Spiral of Anarchy!” he shouted and spun into the air.

The four Furukitsumon vanished all of them fakes.

“As I said before, you are far too impulsive,” then Furukitsumon was hit.

“Darkness Wave!” the attack had come from Ladydevimon.

Furukitsumon went flying. He hit the ground bleeding. She attacked again. Necrogallantmon did a lightning Joust. I growled and dripped my d-arc hard enough to turn my knuckles white. Then there was a flash. When it faded, I had this feeling of weightlessness.

“Furukitsumon?” I called out.

“Byakko! We've digivolved together!”

to be continued…
