"What is Sora telling everyone!?!?"
"That Matt took all her money and abandoned her in the London airport after he *begged* her to come..."
Tai choked on his own spit. "W-what!? Matt didn't do that...! She said she wasn't coming then 'surprised' him."
"I know...but the parents..."
Tai groaned, "Oh no."
"Exactly...Matt's mom and dad are really pissed and Sora's parents want to have Matt arrested."
"What!?" Tai exclaimed-his heart dropping into his stomach.
"Because Sora claimed he stole her money...Sora's parents want to press charges. God Tai...if I hadn't known that you and Matt were hot for each other I probably would've believed Sora too...! She's got quite the convincing story..."
Tai swallowed hard, his fingers felt like ice. "So...what's the plan?"
"They're planning to arrest Matt the second he steps off the plane in the Tokyo airport."
"Christ Kari...what are we supposed to do?? It'll be Matt's word against hers!!"
"I know...."

After Tai hung the phone up he felt like his legs were made of stone. He couldn't tell Matt...but he had to! But what if Matt got mad and went home early? Then the band wouldn't get paid for their hard work...Tai put a hand to his forehead.
{Damn Sora...she just couldn't let it go....}
Slowly, Tai made his way back to the pool. Akira, Niru, and Koji were having a diving contest. Hiroshi and Cherona were having a drink and Matt had joined Kaede in the sun.
"Hey Tai." Hiroshi smiled, then frowned. "You ok? You look pale."
"I'm ok." Tai lied. "I guess I need to sit in the sun too."
Hiroshi laughed a bit worriedly but let Tai pass him.
"Tai?" Matt asked, looking up.
"We need to talk...now." Tai whispered.
Matt frowned and nodded-standing up. "I'll be right back Kaede."
Tai led Matt to a more private place and hugged him close.
"Tai??" Matt asked-worry seeping into his voice. "What's the matter?"
"Matt...this is awful..."
"What is? Is something wrong with Kari??"
"No...Matt...it's Sora....she's claiming you stole all her money and abandoned her at the airport. Her parents are pressing charges and they're going to arrest you when we get home..."
Matt's eyes widened and he turned bright red, then purple, then deathly white.
"Matt..."
"She...that's...that stupid little...you'd be a witness though...wouldn't you?"
"I don't know. It'd be our word against hers...."
Matt heaved a shaky sigh and leaned against Tai, "She can't leave us alone. She's got to make me suffer cause I dumped her...hey...what if we tell them I dumped her for you. That would put some doubt on her story...wouldn't it?"
"I would imagine...but she's had her claws in your parents and her parents way longer than us...they may not even want to hear our side of the story."
The blonde rubbed his temples-his eyes were pricked with moisture.
"She is really starting to piss me off..."

The show at the sixth club didn't go so well. Matt could barely concentrate and, after the band demanded for five minutes, he finally told them about Sora...then none of them could concentrate!! The show still went sort-of well, but it wasn't as good as their other ones. Even Kaede, who never worries, was worried. No one, of course, wanted Matt to get arrested! But what could they do? Tai was the only one that saw the exchange between Sora and Matt. Tai and Matt would have to "come out of the closet" to save their asses! What would their parents think about that?? Matt growled as he put his guitar away.
"Good thing Lila couldn't make it to the show tonight."
"Yeah." Niru quietly agreed.
Taichi bit his lip and ran his hands over Matt's back-feeling the tense muscles relax a bit.
"You..." Matt semi-smiled-grabbing Tai for a kiss, "have the magic touch..."
Tai giggled, "You sounded perfect to me."
Matt smiled and something in his eyes brightened a bit, "Thanks Tai."
"One more club and then we go home..." Koji said, "I'll fight the Sora-beast off myself if I have to...!"
The band shared a tense laugh and packed up their equipment.

"This really sucks..." Matt commented, falling back into the pillows. "What happened to the Sora we used to know? The nice...accepting Sora."
"She grew up...I guess." Tai said, "She has changed though...she doesn't even talk to Mimi anymore."
"Or Joe..."
"...Who did she stay in touch with?"
"You and me mostly...she'd talk to TK once in awhile...but not very often."
Tai sighed and ran one finger down Matt's bare chest. "Women..."
Matt giggled and pulled Tai on top of him. "You're so adorable. You always know how to cheer me up."
"Why thank-you." Tai smiled, giving Matt a kiss.
"Maybe...we should run off together." The blonde teased, smiling.
"I don't think so *Matty-kun* we'd look guilty then." Tai teased back.
Matt wrinkled his nose, "Ugh. Please don't start calling me pet names."
"Matty-kun, Matty-kun, Matty-kun." Tai chanted in a sing-song voice-wiggling out of Matt's grip.
"Hey!!" Matt laughed, making a dive for Tai.
Tai danced away still singing, "Matty-kun, Matty-kun, Matty-kun!!"
Matt, still laughing, finally managed to wrestle Tai to the floor and shut him up with a kiss.
{Ah...yes, Tai. You always know how to cheer me up...}
