Chapter 20!! Phew...I think I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome or something... >_o (Side note about Matt's phone number: I have no idea what Japanese phone numbers look like, so I just made up one...ok? ok.)

Matt was shoved back into his cell. White Snake was sitting on the top bunk-he'd been sent back to his cell for "talking back" to the guards.
"Dude?" He asked-noticing Matt's tears.
Matt said nothing, flung himself onto his bed, and cried into the pillow. Johnny peeked over the edge of his bunk.
"What's wrong? He didn't break up with you did he?"
"No." Matt sniffled. "I just miss him."
Matt started to really cry so White Snake jumped off his bunk and sat on Matt's bed.
"Don't worry man. You've only got a day and a half left here...then you'll blow that bitch's case away and you'll go back home to your sweetheart."
"But what if that doesn't happen?? I couldn't stand being away from him for two months!!"
White sighed and wrapped one arm around Matt. "Then I'll protect you for two months and you'll go back to him then...and then I'll be out too...so I'll bitch slap that chick for you."
Matt had to laugh. "Thanks John...er...Snake."
White Snake smiled, "You may call me by my real name."
Matt wiped his eyes and returned Johnny's smile. The blonde sniffed and then noticed that the man in the next cell was laughing.
"Oh boo hoo! You miss your faggot lover, hey faggot???" The man chuckled.
Johnny's green eyes narrowed dangerously, "You got a problem with my bitch?"
"Your bitch is a little faggot." The man returned, his laughter barely subsiding.
White Snake snarled and got to his feet, "Men are allowed to cry y'know. It doesn't kill them."
"Only fags, wusses, and little boys cry." Neighbour man retorted.
Matt's eyes widened as Johnny and the man stepped up to the wall of bars that separated them.
"I bet I can make you cry." White smirked.
"Oh?" The man scoffed.
"Yeah..."
Matt almost didn't see the swift kick that Johnny delivered right to the neighbour man's balls. Other inmates hollered both insults and encouragement at White Snake. The man fell to the ground holding his abused groin-tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Told yah." White smiled, returning to Matt's side.
The man on the floor only grunted in pain as a response.
"That was...amazing." Matt commented.
Johnny laughed and slapped Matt on the back. "I told you. No one messes with my bitch."
Matt smiled, but a question was burning his mind, "Johnny...are you..."
"Gay?" Johnny finished, smiling. "Nah. I'm bi. I like the best of both worlds...and let me tell you...your guy is one lucky son-of-a-bitch. You seem to be the best of the 'gay world'."
Matt blushed, "Thanks..."

Izzy watched as Tai ran up to his car-tears were falling from his eyes. Taichi got in the car and finally burst into sobs. The redhead frowned sadly and handed Tai a tissue.
"I miss him." Tai managed to say between sobs.
"I do too." Izzy said, placing a hand on Tai's shoulder. "We're all here for you."
The brunette wiped his watery eyes and blew his nose. "Fuck I hate Sora."
Izzy laughed and hugged Tai close, "Who doesn't?? Everyone is really mad at her for this."
Tai sniffled and grabbed another tissue.
"I want to kiss him again..." He said, laughing and crying at the same time.
Izzy laughed and held Tai tighter. "Let's get you home."
Tai nodded and wiped his eyes again.

Matt groaned and opened his eyes. Sunlight was piercing in through the tiny cell window and right into Matt's line of vision. He looked up at Johnny-who's lap was last nights pillow. Matt smiled, he finally trusted Snake. Snake didn't seem like he even belonged in jail. The teen was fast asleep-his head resting against the bed pole. Matt reached up and flicked Johnny in the forehead.
"Ow...fuck..." He mumbled opening his eyes. "Nice wake-up call Animal..."
"Thanks." Matt smirked and sat up.
White Snake laughed and shook his head. "Sexy and brave...your guy is really lucky."
Yamato smirked again and stretched, "I can't wait. My trial is tomorrow. I've gotta get out of here."
Snake nodded. "I don't want to see you back here, Ishida. If I do I'll curb-stomp the judge that convicted you."
Matt couldn't stop smiling. He nodded at Johnny and grabbed his toothbrush from the tray the guards had left.

Tai turned off his alarm clock and sighed. He had cried himself to sleep last night and had a very realistic dream about him and Matt making love. He sighed again and pulled the sticky sheets off his bed.
"Looks like I'll be doing laundry this week..." He said to himself.
"Tai?" Kari poked her head in. "You have a visitor."
{So early?} "Ok. Just a minute. I'll be right out."
Taichi stuffed his sheets into his dirty laundry hamper and changed into some clean day clothes. He brushed his hair back into sort-of place and walked out into the living room. Lunatic Calm was waiting for him along with TK, Cherona, and some woman he's never seen before.
"How're you holding up?" Hiroshi asked-giving Tai a hug.
"Ok..." Tai lied.
After a generous round of hugs from everyone, the woman introduced herself.
"I'm Ms. Soleda, Matt's lawyer."
She shook Tai's hand. "We've gathered here to discuss how we are going to build your defense."
Tai nodded as Ms. Soleda continued.
"I'm not making any promises. But I am fairly certain we can weigh a lot of doubt onto the girl's story. First Hiroshi and Akira did witness Matt cheating on her with you."
Tai gave Akira and Hiroshi a funny look, so Akira explained.
"We saw you guys kissing in the hospital parking lot." He said, blushing.
Now it was Tai's turn to blush, "Oh."
Soleda nodded and kept talking, "And you both talked to your siblings about your feelings for each other the day before the London trip. Everyone witnessed Sora say that she wasn't going on the trip as a result of air sickness and of her saying that her arrival in London was a surprise to Matt. You are a witness to Matt dumping her for you. And Cherona is a witness to that you and Matt were indeed in a physical relationship after Matt had dumped Ms. Takenouchi."
Tai nodded, but didn't let himself get his hopes up. He couldn't handle another big heart break.

The day seemed to be crawling by. Matt wanted Thursday to be over!! He wanted to go to trial, kick Sora's ass, and make love to Tai until the cows came home!! He paced the jail cell like a caged tiger. Johnny watched him with amusement twinkling in his eyes.
"Calm yourself, Animal. You're getting trial-rage."
Matt stopped pacing, "Trial-rage?"
"Yeah. You're getting pissed because the day is seemingly crawling by. Calm down. It's not good to be pissed during trial...you seem like you belong in here then."
"Animal" relented and sighed, "I'm so tired...I just want to be in Tai's arms again."
"You will be." Johnny assured him.

Taichi woke up on Friday morning ready to attack the world...or Sora...whichever he saw first. Ms. Soleda had told everyone to "Dress to impress. A witness dressed like a scrub is not listened to." He pulled on a short sleeved white dress shirt and black pants. He put socks on his feet for the first time that summer and put his docs on.
"Kari? You ready?" He called-peeking into his sister's room.
"I think so. Do I look like a good witness?" She asked.
She was wearing a floral blue sundress with a white jacket and white "Sunday sandals".
Tai smiled, "You look like a very good witness."
Kari returned her brother's smile and grabbed her purse. "I'm ready to go then!"

"Come on Ishida. Time to go." The guard said, tapping on the cell bars.
"Bye, Animal." Johnny said. "Hope not to see you later."
Matt smiled and handed Johnny a folded piece of paper. "My phone number..."
White Snake looked shocked, "Y-your..."
"You could've taken advantage of me whenever you wanted, but you didn't You protected me and comforted me when I cried...I consider you a good friend."
"Friend..." White repeated, "I've never had a friend before..."
"Now you do. Call me when you get out of here."
"I will...thanks." Johnny said, smiling.
Matt reached out and gave Johnny a hug. Again, Johnny seemed very shocked and went rigid for a moment before hugging Matt back.
"Bye." Matt said, not noticing the tears forming in Johnny's eyes.
"Bye." Johnny answered, truly touched by Matt's words.
The guard took Matt by the arm and led him away. Johnny sat on his bunk and unfolded the paper. It read:
Thanks Johnny.
Thanks for protecting me and keeping Todd away from me.
Oh...and thanks for the nickname. I'm sure Tai will love it.

White Snake genuinely smiled for the first time in his life, wiped his watering eyes, and stuffed the paper into a secure place.

Tai paced around the courtroom hallway-waiting for the police to bring Matt. Everyone was there and everyone did as they were told and "dressed to impress". Kaede even wore, what the band called, her power suit. She only wore it when she had to make arrangements with big-time club owners.
"I'm so nervous." Kari admitted.
"Me too." TK replied, putting his hand on her shoulder.
Ms. Soleda showed up ten minutes before the trial was scheduled to begin. A handcuffed Matt and an armed officer trailed along behind her. Tai felt his heart squeeze painfully, seeing Matt in handcuffs made him want to cry. The officer ushered Matt in the side door of the court room before they reached Tai. Soleda walked up to the group.
"Yes. You all look presentable. We have a solid story. Let's go win this trial." She said, smiling.
Tai returned the smile and followed the group into the courtroom. Soleda, the officer, and Matt sat at the defense's table and Sora and her lawyer sat at the prosecutor's table. Tai sat with the "general public" right behind Matt. His heart ached. He wanted to reach out and give Matt the biggest hug.
"All rise." The bailiff said, "The Honorable Judge Tanaka residing."
Judge Tanaka walked into the courtroom and sat at her place. "You may be seated." She said.
After looking through the case papers the Judge looked up and nodded, "State your names please."
"Rosie Soleda, representing the defense."
"Emil Heinrich, representing the prosecution."
Judge Tanaka nodded again, "Thank-you. Mr. Heinrich, you may proceed."
Heinrich called Sora to the stand to give her side of the story. Tai had to use every ounce of his willpower to not stand up and call her a liar. She sobbed and cried at the right parts. She even made eye contact with the judge as she spewed out her sob story. Matt rolled his eyes and proceeded to daydream about Tai as Sora babbled on. Fifteen minutes later Sora was finally finished and stood down.
"I have no further witnesses your honor." Heinrich said.
"Ok...Ms. Soleda. Please call your first witness."
"The Defense calls Matt Ishida to the stand."
Hiroshi and Akira resisted the urge to stand up and cheer as Matt took the stand.
"Is it true that you were cheating on Ms. Takenouchi with your best friend?" Soleda asked.
"Yes." Matt answered.
"Please identify this best friend for the court records." Judge Tanaka said.
"Taichi Yagami." Matt said.
A whisper ripped through the small crowd of the Sora supporters. Mr. Ishida's face went whiter than a sheet.
"And isn't it true that you dumped Ms. Takenouchi for Mr. Yagami?"
"Yes."
"Was Sora angry?"
"Yes. She told me not to bother talking to her anymore."
"Then what happened?"
"She walked away and I didn't see her until I arrived back in Tokyo."
"So. Then she'd have a reason to make up some wild story about you stealing from her to get back at you for cheating on and dumping her."
"Yes."
This time Heinrich went whiter than a sheet.
"Thank-you. Mr Ishida. You may step down."
Matt semi-nodded and went back to his seat.
"The defense now calls Hiroshi Ichimatsu to the stand."
Hiroshi winked at Akira and took the stand.
"You knew about the feelings that Mr. Ishida and Mr. Yagami had for each other, correct?"
"That is correct."
"In fact...you saw them kissing one day."
"Yes."
"Where?"
"In Matt's car."
"What this before or after Matt broke up with Sora?"
"Before."
"So...he was cheating on her, so to speak."
"Yes."
"Thank-you. Step down."
Hiroshi smiled at Matt as he returned to his seat.
"Defense calls Kaede Ichimatsu to the stand."
Kaede straightened her skirt and sat in the witness stand.
"Ms. Takenouchi claims that Matt begged her to come. Which she found out later was just a ruse so he could humiliate her, but that's not what really happened. Sora claimed she got air sickness so she wasn't going to go, correct?"
"Yes."
"And when she arrived in London she said she lied about being air sick so she could surprise Matt."
"Yes."
"So Matt never asked her to come."
"No. He didn't."
The Judge nodded and Matt's hopes soared a bit higher. Kaede took her seat.
"Defense calls Taichi Yagami to the stand."
Tai took a deep breath and walked up to the witness stand.
"You kissed Matt in his car, did you not?"
"I did."
"Just one kiss?"
Tai flushed dark red, "No. A lot of kisses."
"And...Matt was still with Sora."
"Yes."
"And Matt initiated these kisses?"
"Yes."
"And you were consensual."
"Yes."
"What happened then?"
"Matt took me home and we kissed some more."
"What happened in the London airport."
"Sora showed up saying that it was a surprise for Matt."
"Then what?"
"I got upset and ran away."
"I see. And then..."
"Matt came and found me. He hugged me and promised me that he would break up with Sora as soon as he found her."
"And did he?"
Tai contained the smile, "Yes."
"Was Sora angry?"
"Very."
"And you and Mr. Ishida have been in a relationship ever since."
"Correct."
"Thank-you Mr. Yagami."
Tai smiled and took his seat. He gently brushed Matt's shoulder with his hand as he walked by. Rosie Soleda was about to call Kari to the stand when Judge Tanaka held up her hand.
"No more witnesses are needed, counsellor. I've heard enough."
Matt felt his heart skip a beat.
"This is obviously a case of a woman scorned. The prosecution has a laughable case with absolutely no witnesses, credible or otherwise, and no evidence. The defense has a whole line of credible witnesses that have seen the same thing. They've seen Mr. Ishida cheat on Ms. Takenouchi. They've seen and heard about the feelings that Mr. Ishida and Mr. Yagami have for each other. They all can see that Ms. Takenouchi was intent on getting revenge on these two young men for falling in love. Ms. Takenouchi's pride was obviously wounded and the green-eyed monster pulled the wool over her eyes. This case is dismissed, the charges are dropped, Matt Ishida is free to go." Tanaka slammed her gavel down.
Matt felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest and he wanted to cry.
"Mr. Ishida." The Judge continued, "You will be compensated for your suffering."
"That won't be necessary Your Honor." Matt said.
The Judge raised an eyebrow so Matt explained.
"I just want to be with Taichi..."
Tai's eyes watered as he smiled. Kari had to cover her mouth to stifled a sob. The Judge smiled.
"Then...I order you to be with Taichi."
The Judge winked and walked into her chambers. The officer with Matt unlocked his cuffs.
"I can go..." Matt whispered, still in shock.
"Yeah. Get goin'." The officer said, smiling.
"Matt!" Tai called.
Matt turned, ran to Tai as fast as his legs would take him, and swooped him up into a huge kiss. Kari started crying happily and hugged TK. Akira and Hiroshi kissed each other while Niru, Cherona, Koji, and Kaede shared a group hug. Matt had his tongue practically halfway down Tai's throat when he was roughly yanked away from him by his collar.
"D-dad!?" Matt choked. "What're you doing!?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were a fag?" His father demanded.
The group went dead silent and Tai felt like crying again.
"You take your hands off him!" Nancy Takaishi exclaimed, prying the elder Ishida's hands off Matt's collar. "You let them be! They've been through enough!"
"But Nance! Our son is a fag...!"
Nancy folded her arms, "*My* son is in love and happy." She looked at Matt. "You're welcome to move in with me and TK, Matt. I've been dying to redecorate that guest room."
"I...Mom...I'd love to move in." Matt said, smiling.
Nancy turned back to Mr. Ishida, "There. It's settled then. Matt is moving in with me and TK. And don't you even think of doing anything to him when he comes to collect his things."
Mr. Ishida glared daggers and both Matt and his mom, but walked off without saying anything else.
"Thanks Mom..." Matt said, hugging Tai close.
"It's no problem, Matt. I'm just glad to see you happy with someone you love."
Matt grinned like an idiot and kissed Tai again.
"Mmm...I'm never going to let you go..."

White Snake genuinely smiled for the first time in his life, wiped his watering eyes, and stuffed the paper into a secure place.

Tai paced around the courtroom hallway-waiting for the police to bring Matt. Everyone was there and everyone did as they were told and "dressed to impress". Kaede even wore, what the band called, her power suit. She only wore it when she had to make arrangements with big-time club owners.
"I'm so nervous." Kari admitted.
"Me too." TK replied, putting his hand on her shoulder.
Ms. Soleda showed up ten minutes before the trial was scheduled to begin. A handcuffed Matt and an armed officer trailed along behind her. Tai felt his heart squeeze painfully, seeing Matt in handcuffs made him want to cry. The officer ushered Matt in the side door of the court room before they reached Tai. Soleda walked up to the group.
"Yes. You all look presentable. We have a solid story. Let's go win this trial." She said, smiling.
Tai returned the smile and followed the group into the courtroom. Soleda, the officer, and Matt sat at the defense's table and Sora and her lawyer sat at the prosecutor's table. Tai sat with the "general public" right behind Matt. His heart ached. He wanted to reach out and give Matt the biggest hug.
"All rise." The bailiff said, "The Honorable Judge Tanaka residing."
Judge Tanaka walked into the courtroom and sat at her place. "You may be seated." She said.
After looking through the case papers the Judge looked up and nodded, "State your names please."
"Rosie Soleda, representing the defense."
"Emil Heinrich, representing the prosecution."
Judge Tanaka nodded again, "Thank-you. Mr. Heinrich, you may proceed."
Heinrich called Sora to the stand to give her side of the story. Tai had to use every ounce of his willpower to not stand up and call her a liar. She sobbed and cried at the right parts. She even made eye contact with the judge as she spewed out her sob story. Matt rolled his eyes and proceeded to daydream about Tai as Sora babbled on. Fifteen minutes later Sora was finally finished and stood down.
"I have no further witnesses your honor." Heinrich said.
"Ok...Ms. Soleda. Please call your first witness."
"The Defense calls Matt Ishida to the stand."
Hiroshi and Akira resisted the urge to stand up and cheer as Matt took the stand.
"Is it true that you were cheating on Ms. Takenouchi with your best friend?" Soleda asked.
"Yes." Matt answered.
"Please identify this best friend for the court records." Judge Tanaka said.
"Taichi Yagami." Matt said.
A whisper ripped through the small crowd of the Sora supporters. Mr. Ishida's face went whiter than a sheet.
"And isn't it true that you dumped Ms. Takenouchi for Mr. Yagami?"
"Yes."
"Was Sora angry?"
"Yes. She told me not to bother talking to her anymore."
"Then what happened?"
"She walked away and I didn't see her until I arrived back in Tokyo."
"So. Then she'd have a reason to make up some wild story about you stealing from her to get back at you for cheating on and dumping her."
"Yes."
This time Heinrich went whiter than a sheet.
"Thank-you. Mr Ishida. You may step down."
Matt semi-nodded and went back to his seat.
"The defense now calls Hiroshi Ichimatsu to the stand."
Hiroshi winked at Akira and took the stand.
"You knew about the feelings that Mr. Ishida and Mr. Yagami had for each other, correct?"
"That is correct."
"In fact...you saw them kissing one day."
"Yes."
"Where?"
"In Matt's car."
"What this before or after Matt broke up with Sora?"
"Before."
"So...he was cheating on her, so to speak."
"Yes."
"Thank-you. Step down."
Hiroshi smiled at Matt as he returned to his seat.
"Defense calls Kaede Ichimatsu to the stand."
Kaede straightened her skirt and sat in the witness stand.
"Ms. Takenouchi claims that Matt begged her to come. Which she found out later was just a ruse so he could humiliate her, but that's not what really happened. Sora claimed she got air sickness so she wasn't going to go, correct?"
"Yes."
"And when she arrived in London she said she lied about being air sick so she could surprise Matt."
"Yes."
"So Matt never asked her to come."
"No. He didn't."
The Judge nodded and Matt's hopes soared a bit higher. Kaede took her seat.
"Defense calls Taichi Yagami to the stand."
Tai took a deep breath and walked up to the witness stand.
"You kissed Matt in his car, did you not?"
"I did."
"Just one kiss?"
Tai flushed dark red, "No. A lot of kisses."
"And...Matt was still with Sora."
"Yes."
"And Matt initiated these kisses?"
"Yes."
"And you were consensual."
"Yes."
"What happened then?"
"Matt took me home and we kissed some more."
"What happened in the London airport."
"Sora showed up saying that it was a surprise for Matt."
"Then what?"
"I got upset and ran away."
"I see. And then..."
"Matt came and found me. He hugged me and promised me that he would break up with Sora as soon as he found her."
"And did he?"
Tai contained the smile, "Yes."
"Was Sora angry?"
"Very."
"And you and Mr. Ishida have been in a relationship ever since."
"Correct."
"Thank-you Mr. Yagami."
Tai smiled and took his seat. He gently brushed Matt's shoulder with his hand as he walked by. Rosie Soleda was about to call Kari to the stand when Judge Tanaka held up her hand.
"No more witnesses are needed, counsellor. I've heard enough."
Matt felt his heart skip a beat.
"This is obviously a case of a woman scorned. The prosecution has a laughable case with absolutely no witnesses, credible or otherwise, and no evidence. The defense has a whole line of credible witnesses that have seen the same thing. They've seen Mr. Ishida cheat on Ms. Takenouchi. They've seen and heard about the feelings that Mr. Ishida and Mr. Yagami have for each other. They all can see that Ms. Takenouchi was intent on getting revenge on these two young men for falling in love. Ms. Takenouchi's pride was obviously wounded and the green-eyed monster pulled the wool over her eyes. This case is dismissed, the charges are dropped, Matt Ishida is free to go." Tanaka slammed her gavel down.
Matt felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest and he wanted to cry.
"Mr. Ishida." The Judge continued, "You will be compensated for your suffering."
"That won't be necessary Your Honor." Matt said.
The Judge raised an eyebrow so Matt explained.
"I just want to be with Taichi..."
Tai's eyes watered as he smiled. Kari had to cover her mouth to stifled a sob. The Judge smiled.
"Then...I order you to be with Taichi."
The Judge winked and walked into her chambers. The officer with Matt unlocked his cuffs.
"I can go..." Matt whispered, still in shock.
"Yeah. Get goin'." The officer said, smiling.
"Matt!" Tai called.
Matt turned, ran to Tai as fast as his legs would take him, and swooped him up into a huge kiss. Kari started crying happily and hugged TK. Akira and Hiroshi kissed each other while Niru, Cherona, Koji, and Kaede shared a group hug. Matt had his tongue practically halfway down Tai's throat when he was roughly yanked away from him by his collar.
"D-dad!?" Matt choked. "What're you doing!?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were a fag?" His father demanded.
The group went dead silent and Tai felt like crying again.
"You take your hands off him!" Nancy Takaishi exclaimed, prying the elder Ishida's hands off Matt's collar. "You let them be! They've been through enough!"
"But Nance! Our son is a fag...!"
Nancy folded her arms, "*My* son is in love and happy." She looked at Matt. "You're welcome to move in with me and TK, Matt. I've been dying to redecorate that guest room."
"I...Mom...I'd love to move in." Matt said, smiling.
Nancy turned back to Mr. Ishida, "There. It's settled then. Matt is moving in with me and TK. And don't you even think of doing anything to him when he comes to collect his things."
Mr. Ishida glared daggers and both Matt and his mom, but walked off without saying anything else.
"Thanks Mom..." Matt said, hugging Tai close.
"It's no problem, Matt. I'm just glad to see you happy with someone you love."
Matt grinned like an idiot and kissed Tai again.
"Mmm...I'm never going to let you go..."

Bua!!! End of Chapter 20!!! PHEW! 9 freakin' pages long!!! *bows* Now then...I have a dilemma. I have two really good ideas for the next two chapters, BUT I don't know which chapter to write first!!
