Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Hybrid Theory ❯ Morphose's Change ( Chapter 2 )
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, therefore, it is not, meaning it does not belong to me.
Second chapter, I'm sorry the last one was so short; it was a default chapter just to give you an introduction to the new characters. The entity, which entered this world at the end of last chapter, will appear later, I just want you to know about it. I've decided on one couple, Takato and Rika, just because. Also the name of Hybridramon's human form has been changed. I am getting rid of Kittymon, I'm not sure why, but it will move the story along. That's pretty much it.

Chapter 2: Morphose's Change
*****
Hydran (pronounced: Hee-dran) and Kit, a.k.a. Hybridramon and Kittymon, sat on top of the school. Yesterday may have technically been the last day of school, but for seniors today was. All of the tamers were here for the final test, and graduation practice. It would be all over in an hour, hopefully.
Renamon phased in next to them. Over the past 24 hours Renamon had gotten to know Kittymon and now saw her as a friend. Even though the entire world now knew about the digital world, Digimon were still seen as monsters. She had found that she could be seen if she stayed with Rika, but she wanted to explore further.
"How do you do that?" she asked stepping up to Kit.
"Do what?" she replied confused by the question.
"How do you take a human form?" she repeated. "I know that Hybridramon was once human, that's how he can change, but you, you're not a hybrid."
"I changed her," Hydran said standing from where he was. "It's a trick I learned called Morphose's Change. It allows myself or anything I concentrate on change shape."
"Can you make me human?" Renamon asked stepping closer to him.
"I must tell you, the trick only works through a kiss," he said. "I'm not sure why, but it seems that is the focal point of energy transference. Besides the obvious choice"
"A kiss, isn't there another way?" Renamon asked.
"There is, but I doubt you'd want to," Hydran said stepping forward and grasping Renamon's shoulders. She tilted her head up and he leaned down, tilting his head to the side, as not to hit her nose.
He kissed her on the lips for about two seconds then released. The first change was always different than the rest. Renamon's body was covered in a bright white glow; Hydran and Kit had to shield their eyes from it. Her tail disappeared, her face shifted, her ears moved down to the sides of her head, her hands split into five fingers, and her legs shifted to normal human legs. When the light receded Renamon stood in a white T-shirt, with a yellow heart on it, and yellow sleeves (the shirt like Rika wears, except yellow instead of blue.). She had long blonde hair, down to about mid-back. She was wearing a pair of white khaki pants, and black sandals. She opened her eyes and looked down at herself.
"I'm…human," she gasped before she almost fell backward. Being without her tail, she was slightly unbalanced. Hydran was there to catch her and hold her up. "It's strange, even though I've been without a tail before, this is still odd."
"Because Taomon has large feet to hold you up, and Rika helps you to stand when you are Sakuyamon," he told her as though she should already know. "Tell me, how do you feel Rena?"
"Rena?" she asked then thought it was a suitable name. "I feel okay, I'm getting used to it now." She stood without his help, and walked around a bit.
"Where do go from here?" Kit asked looking over the edge of the school building. It was a four-story drop to the ground, and she was not up to a jump-fest.
"Nowhere to go, but inside," Hydran said motioning the door about 50 feet away.
They all looked older than 18, so they weren't going to be called for skipping the test or practice. They cold really just say that they are older siblings of some students. The tamers to be exact. They walked the halls of the high school, not really knowing where they were going. They arrived at the front door and stepped outside, once again bathed in sunlight.
"Kit, you know a Digimon cannot stay in this world for more than two days," Hydran said. "Without a tamer I mean."
The bell rang before she could respond, and a torrent of teenagers ran through the doors. Hydran and Kit were easily spotted, but the girl with them wasn't recognized. The tamers' had settled their differences in a relatively short amount of time. Like I said, the tamers' differences, there was still the little matter of Natalie being a control freak. After Hydran and Kit had disappeared, the tamers had a lot of time on their hands.
"Renamon?" Rika asked stepping up to the three humans. Renamon decided to play around a bit with her new form.
"No, I'm sorry, my name's Rena," Rena said, "and who might you be?"
"You can't fool me, I know you're lying," Rika said taking a step forward.
"Rika, is it possible that maybe she's not Renamon," Takato said placing a hand on her shoulder which she quickly shrugged off.
"Who is Renamon?" Rena asked innocently.
"Nevermind," then she stretched, allowing everybody to get a good look. "School is finally over."
"So, what do we do now?" Henry asked.
"I say we go to a movie, or check out the new card series," Kazu suggested.
After a few minutes of arguing and Rika bashing Kazu on the head, many times, they decided to split up. Rika, Takato, Henry and Natalie were going a movie (Don't asked which one, I don't care.). Kazu, Kenta and Jeri were going to check out the card store. Hydran, Kit and Rena were just going to walk around town. Even though he had been there for two years, Hydran never got to see a lot of the city.
Rika, Takato, Henry and Natalie got into Rika's car, previously owned by her mother, and drove towards the movie theatre. The other three got into Jeri's car, and pulled out behind them. Ryo had not been at school, since it was optional. The test didn't count, and it didn't matter if you were at graduation practice.
That afternoon after the movie, and the card buying, and the driving, and the whole damn thing people do when they're out. Rika dropped off Henry and Natalie, who, as it turns out, live in the same apartment building. Then she pulled in behind the bakery where Takato lived, and before he could get out, she grabbed his arm.
"Think I could…come in?" she asked hesitantly.
"I don't see why not," he replied cautiously opening the door, thinking she might grab him again. But she was already out the door and waiting for him.
They walked around to the front of the bakery and Takato pulled out his key. His parent's were out at some meeting and the store was temporarily closed. After unlocking the door and stepping in he turned on the lights. They moved to the stairs that went upstairs; exchanging their shoes for slippers at the bottom. Once at the top Rika grabbed Takato's shoulder and turned him around. When he was facing her she pulled him close and kissed him. This was the first time Takato had kissed Rika, and he was somewhat reluctant. Since his break-up with Jeri, he hadn't really been looking for someone.
Kit stared at the bundle of excess matter and data mixed together. The only way into the digital world, and she had to get through it in 18 hours. It was either that, or to have her data dispersed to the winds of the real world. And a Digimon could only go through a digital field once, its level and amount of power was irrelevant. She figured that she should just spend as much time with Hydran as she could before she left. Or she could leave without saying goodbye. Seeing how close he had become to Renamon, it made her feel left out.
"Maybe I should just leave, it's not like I'm helping," she said to herself.
Hydran and Rena were sitting on a bench a little ways away, and couldn't hear her. He was asking her how she liked her human form.
"I like it, but I think Rika's already caught on," Rena said almost like she was disappointed, he face uncsiously moving closer to his.
"I could change it if you like; it wouldn't take much," he said casually, his face also moving closer to hers.
"No, it's okay, even if she hadn't already figured it out, she would have sooner or later," she almost whispered as her face was inches from his. Before he could respond to that, she pushed forward, kissing him full on the lips, and to her surprise, and delight, he didn't back away.
Kit stared down at them from her vantage point, on top of Guilmon's little "home". She wasn't feeling exactly like she thought she would. She thought she would feel jealous, or angry, or something that would lead to aggression. But what she felt was relief, just relief, and nothing else. She couldn't even understand her own feelings, how could she hope to understand someone else's.
She jumped down, ran into the small stone structure, and into the hole in the floor. There in front of her was the glowing mass of matter and data. It reminded her of Hybridramon, the bonding of real matter to digital matter. She pushed the thought from her mind and dove into the matter/data bundle. Her trip was short, and she was soon back in the digital world. Her final wish was that they not remember her, and for Hydran to be happy.
Hydran and Rena really had no idea that she left; they were completely oblivious to the world around them. Suddenly he broke the kiss and looked up.
"I'm being called," he said quietly in her ear, it tickled and she lightly giggled.
"Meet me here later?" she asked giving him the look of an innocent child.
He smiled to himself because of that look.
"Yeah, if I can," he looked at the small watch around his wrist, 5 o'clock already. "Be here in five hours."
"Okay, I will be seeing as how much time I have on my hands," she said holding up her five fingered hands.
With the arrangements set he stepped back and easily jumped into the air. In a flash he was gone.
He opened the door to the Carter's apartment, removed his boots and proceeded barefoot. He heard the shower running and a good amount of steam coming from the cracked door. He pushed the door open and stepped inside. The shower curtain was closed and he could see the silhouette of his shapely tamer through the plastic barrier.
"Hydran, is that you?" she asked while soaping her hair.
"Yeah, you called me?" he asked not letting the annoyance into his voice.
"Just wanted to tell you I'm going out tonight," she said rubbing soap over herself.
"Okay, with who?"
"Henry Wong, he lives a few floors down. Why, are you jealous?"
"No, I have plans of my own. Have you told your parents?"
"No, they aren't home yet," she said slightly mad that he didn't realize it.
"What time are you heading out?"
"In a few hours, around six or seven o'clock."
"Where?"
"Who are you, my parents?" she asked getting irritated by this.
"No, I'm just wondering."
"Well it's none of your business that I'm going to The Hole."
The Hole, a popular dance club for people 18 and older.
"Okay, I'm done asking questions," he said.
"Good, now could you wash my back, I can't reach," she said pulling the curtain open a bit, she had her back turned, but that didn't really hide much.
`Sometimes I wish there were laws against slave labor,' he thought as he picked up the washcloth. It wasn't that she wasn't bad to look at, it's just that one side of him got tired of seeing her back, and her front, and every part of her everyday. "You do know that you told me where you're going."
"I did? Oh well, just don't plan on ruining my date."
"I won't."

Okay, this chapter is done. Please review, I need to know what you think. I'm not good at these kinds of fan fiction. I'm used to putting in original characters, and making the story about them, not the real characters. Anyway, the next chapter is going to take a while to upload, I have other stories to work on. And if you don't want to review on mediaminer, e-mail me at berserk_fury001@yahoo.com.
