Hello all. This is my last chapter on this story. I don’t know when I’ll write another one, but it won’t be too long of a wait for my next one. Once again, you are welcome to use my characters in your stories if you want. Just read the biographies first. I still stink at summaries, so here’s the last chapter.

Chapter 8: Reality In You

Tyler looked around. He was surrounded by darkness on all sides. The funny thing was, it was soothing. There was no fear plaguing his heart, no apprehension filling him. The darkness itself seemed to be comprised of swirling mists that played against his skin. To him, the mists felt smooth, yet familiar, as if a human was there, driving away his weariness. Gone were thoughts of self loathing and doubt, and best of all, gone was the dream that tortured him so. Tyler felt strangely at peace here, though he didn’t understand why.
“Where am I?” he asked into the darkness.
‘You’re here, with me,’ a voice sounded in his head. He looked around for the source of the voice. The voice sounded familiar as well, and when he heard it, his heart happily skipped a beat, which served to confuse him more.
‘Don’t be alarmed,’ the voice said. ‘As I said before, I’ll be there for you always.’
Tyler thought for a second. Why did that voice sound familiar? More importantly, what did the darkness have to do with anything? As if to answer his question, a pair of soft lips touched his, or so he thought. What he thought were lips was actually part of the mist touching him, as though guided by some unseen force. Tyler found himself wanting to wrap his arms around the being, whoever it was, and bring them in for another kiss. He thought back on what the voice said, and one name came to mind.
“Sara?”
Though he couldn’t see her, he felt Sara grinning at him from somewhere far away, yet he felt as if she was right there in front of him.
‘Yep, it’s me love. I’m actually her subconscious. What you are experiencing is a part of her that has been dormant for some time.’
“So why can’t I see you, and how do I know that I’m not talking to an imposter?”
‘Well, for one, you can see me, you just don’t realize that this is me in my essence form. Two, she’s experiencing the same thing. In case you haven’t realized, the two of you have a rather large connection between each other, one that surpasses a lot of things. For instance, did Sara tell you about the night she felt your presence when you were fighting?’
“No.”
‘Well, she felt it because your subconscious came to her. It was unfamiliar at first, due to how much energy you put out, but then she recognized you. What I’m saying is, that you two share a bond so strong that it nearly matches the bond you have with your digimon, and THAT’S a strong bond. Basically, when something happens to one, the other feels it, or can tell when something’s happening to that person. Case in point, her and you.’
“How did that come to pass?”
‘That’s something you’ll have to find out on your own. Even I don’t know that. From what I can fathom, though, you both got your powers from the same source, whatever it was.’
“I don’t see how that’s possible. I got mine in the digital world. She was naturally born with hers.”
‘Actually, you were born with yours as well. You just needed the proper push to set them off. Hence, the battle of Asmodaimon.’
This information stunned Tyler. How is it that she knew more about him than he did in his whole life?
‘When we came together, you and I, all of your memories copied over to me, and vice versa. Our subconscious parts transferred to one another, so we were able to see each other’s past experiences. It’s really cool if you think about it. Your subconscious’ essence looked so handsome, even though he was silver.’
“Did Sara see what he looked like in his true form?”
‘He’s you, silly! Just like I’m Sara. We just separated ourselves from your bodies so we can talk to the both of you. Sara took it rather well, to say the least. And yes, she did see him in his true form.’
“So why can’t I see your true form?”
‘Because you didn’t ask,’ the subconscious said, wryly. This brought a smirk to Tyler’s face.
“May I see your form?” he asked politely.
‘Sure,’ the subconscious said, rather mischievously. Tyler wondered why she said it like that as the dark mist twisted and shrunk back into a humanoid form. Tyler waited patiently as the form took shape bit by bit, forming the hair and head first, then the slender body that was completely naked. The skin brightened to the creamy skin of Tyler’s love, but the eyes remained closed. Tyler’s eyes wandered her body for a bit.
“Can you open your eyes, please?” he asked, stepping closer.
The subconscious smiled an evil smile that made Tyler stop in his tracks. Suddenly, her eyes flashed open to reveal shining red eyes, and her lips parted to reveal sharp white teeth. Blood red wings with black lining on the inside sprouted from her back, and her fingers became sharp red talons. Her waist down turned black, and a pointy tail sprouted from her hindquarters. She looked at Tyler greedily, who was frozen on the spot, finding it odd as to why he couldn’t move as fear gripped his heart like a vice. One word came to his mind to describe the hideous visage that he thought was his love: Succubus.
“You’re mine!” the succubus hissed, and lunged at a screaming Tyler.
**************************************************************** *******************
Tyler bolted up in bed, sweat pouring down his face, and pointing a .45 caliber pistol in front of him. He looked around the room warily and fully alert, as if expecting something to happen.
‘What a weird dream,’ he thought. He looked down and noticed the covers were slightly rumpled next to him.
‘Must have been thrashing in my sleep,’ he thought as he lowered the gun, suddenly getting an odd feeling in his groin area. He pulled the covers back, revealing his completely naked form.
‘What in the world am I doing naked?’ he thought. ‘Unless I was masturbating in my sleep, which is something I’ve never done before…’ His train of thought was interrupted by the smell of sausages frying, and the sound of music playing softly. ‘Huh?’
Tyler got out of bed and slipped on his sweatpants that were at the foot of the bed for some reason, not noticing the shoes that were sitting upside down on the vent. He didn’t bother getting his gun, knowing that he could easily deal with someone that would fight with a spatula. He quietly made his way out of his room and down the hall in a fighting stance, his footsteps making no sound at all on the otherwise creaky floor under the carpet. He rounded the corner of the hallway to the kitchen, ready to catch the intruder off guard--and completely lost all comprehension of reality. What he saw made him think he was still dreaming, for at his stove, swaying lightly in time with the music, was the body of a goddess, wearing nothing but a long white button down shirt with the cuffs unbuttoned. The shirt covered her waist, save for the round splits that showed her well defined thighs, and part of the white satin crocheted underwear that showed half of her well rounded butt. Tyler found himself staring at this portion of her body before traveling further downward, taking in the sight of her slender, soft legs, and delicate feet.
“Mornin’ love,” the figure greeted him with a voice that sounded like the softest, yet strongest gust of wind, while still having her back turned. He wanted to respond, but he couldn’t talk. The only thing that left his mouth was a small squeak. She turned to him with a smile on her face. Again, Tyler lost all comprehension as he found himself staring into eyes that were the deepest black mingled with the brightest silver. These were set on a soft face that seemed to radiate with life, accompanied by a pair of full red lips that begged for his attention, and hair that was as dark as a raven, with a few shining silver strands that flowed in front of her face.
“Did you sleep well?” she asked, noticing the stunned look on Tyler’s face. This made her smile even more as a giggle escaped her lips. She placed another sausage on the plate next to the skillet and sat the spatula down next to it. She walked around the counter to Tyler, who was still in shock.
“Looks like a cat has your tongue. You must have forgot what we did last night.” She wasn’t the least bit surprised by this. Somehow, she knew that he would forget. What did surprise her, however, was how long he stayed in that stupor, as if this was his first time seeing her like this.
“S-Sara,” Tyler began creakily, finally finding his voice. “W-what-what…”
“We had the best night of our lives by committing to each other,” Sara said, still smiling. “Here, I’ll help you remember.” She placed her hands on the sides of his head and stared deeply into his eyes. Tyler found himself being thrown into a swirling vortex of memories, particularly of yesterday’s events, up until last night.
“Do you remember now?” Sara asked, letting go of his head. Tyler nodded, though he was still a bit surprised by everything.
“What happened to your hair?” he asked, gesturing towards the silver strands that adorned her face.
“I’m not sure,” she admitted, tugging on the strands. “But I like it. Your hair did the same thing, except it’s a bit of a roll reversal.”
Tyler glanced up at the small mirror that was hanging on the wall. His hair was completely silver, save for the two braids in front of his face that retained his natural black color. He also noticed that his eyes were the same silver-dark color as Sara’s.
“I don’t know how to explain the eye color though,” Sara said, walking back into the kitchen to clean up. Tyler stared after her for a minute, pondering the situation. He realized that part of his dream was right: they do have a strong connection. He also realized that he loved this girl more than anything, and that she shared that same love with him. He didn’t have to use his Mind’s Eye to tell him that. This was proven true as he watched her washing the dishes she used to make breakfast, all the while smiling and half humming, half singing along with the music. That sight alone made his heart melt, and a warm smile made its way to his face. He walked up behind Sara and placed his hands on her waist, putting his forehead on the back of her head and breathing in the scent of her hair. Sara smiled widely as she put her wet hands on his, and they both swayed in time to the music. Tyler encircled her waist in his arms and moved his head to her neck, kissing it softly and drawing out a light moan from her. Sara caressed his ear with her hand lightly. They turned their heads towards each other, and touched their foreheads lightly as they closed their eyes, still swaying to the music.
“Thank you,” Tyler said without warning.
“Mmm…for what?” Sara asked, slightly perplexed. Tyler rubbed her nose with his.
“For everything,” he said, opening his eyes and looking into hers. “You stood by me when I was going through stress, you helped me through my battle, and you comforted me when I needed it most. Best of all, you love me for being me.”
“And I meant every word I said to you last night,” she said, turning her body to him and wrapping her arms around his neck. “I love you, Tyler. Nothing’s going to change that.”
“I love you too, lady. More than anything.”
They came together in an excitable kiss. They broke apart slowly, looking in each other’s eyes.
“We need a shower,” Sara said coyly.
“What about breakfast?” Tyler asked.
“It can wait,” Sara said, leading him toward the bathroom.

As the warm water cascaded over their bodies, massaging them with its pattern of jet streams, Tyler and Sara held each other in their arms, caressing each other as they kissed passionately, enjoying the feel of each other’s presence and not caring about anything in the world.
**************************************************************** *********************
Everyone gathered at the park for the final time before Mimi and Izzy were off back to America. Having made peace with everyone , with slight difficulty from a select few, the couple decided to get together with everyone for an “old times” gathering. The only ones that weren’t there were Matt and Sam, since they already took off two days prior to continue their tour (much to TK’s dismay), Tyler, because everyone knew he didn’t want to see them, and Sara, who hasn’t been seen since yesterday afternoon. This made Sora worry a little bit. Not for the simple fact that her cousin was missing (she knew Sara could take care of herself), but she didn’t call the house and say where she was, or answer her cell phone when Sora called, and she had to resort to leaving a message saying where they would be the next day.
“Problem, Sora?” Tai asked, breaking her out of her train of thought.
“I’m just wondering where Sara is,” she said. “I haven’t seen her since yesterday when she went for a walk.”
“Well, we all know she can take care of herself, and she has Dynamon in case things get out of hand.”
“Only one problem. She left her digivice and D-terminal at home.”
“Did you try calling her?” Joe asked, coming up next to them.
“I called her about five times, and left a message telling her where to meet us today.”
“Call Tyler,” suggested Jun. “Maybe he’s seen her.”
“Or all of her,” TK added silently, getting a snicker out of Davis and Ken.
“I’ll give him a call,” Joe said, taking out his phone and dialing Tyler’s number. After a few rings, the answering machine picked up, and a feminine, yet strong voice came on.

(click) *This is the home of Tyler Jones. We would appreciate it if you wouldn’t call here anymore-
What are you doing?! Get back, before I bite you!
Tyler, stop! I want to record a message-AHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!
I’m sorry. While I tame the tiger, please leave a message at the beep.* (beep)

Joe hung up his cell phone, a surprised look on his face.
“Answering machine pick up?” Sora asked.
Joe nodded his head slowly. “Only…” he began.
“What? Only what?!” Tai asked impatiently.
“It wasn’t Tyler’s voice I heard.”
“Well, who’s voice did you hear?” Davis asked.
“Some lady’s voice. It sounded pretty strong.”
‘Sounds like Tyler has a thing for older women,’ Mimi thought to herself.
“Do you think he changed his number?” Kari asked.
“Nope,” Sora said. “It’s the same one that’s listed in the phone book. Besides, he would have told us if he changed it.”
“Oh yeah.”
“I’m going to try calling her again,” Sora said, taking out her cell phone.
“No need,” Cody said, coming up the hill with Trinity. For some reason, they had smiles on their faces.
“What do you mean?” Tai asked.
“Look.” Trinity pointed toward the street where two very familiar people, male and female, were walking up. The girl, whose body would have been perfect for Maxim magazine (I don’t think they have that in Japan), had on a baby blue, spaghetti strapped dress that fell just below her knees with different shaded flower prints on it, a dark blue denim jean vest, and white ankle high sneakers. Her hair, which was jet black with silver strands hanging in the front, was pulled back into a tail with a red headband. The boy, who had the build of a small mountain, had on a silk button down shirt that had colors ranging from yellow at the top to orange at the bottom with black swirls on the hem, black jeans, and orange and black sneakers. His long braided hair, which was completely silver save for two black braids in the front, was pulled back in a tail as well with a black rubber band. They walked up to the group, hand in hand, and smiling. The boy looked slightly leery as he came up.
“I don’t know about this, Sara,” Tyler said.
“What’s there to be afraid of?” Sara said, trying to calm Tyler down. “You said it yourself last night, you don’t care what they think about us.”
“I know, but I’m picturing all of the flak that we’re going to get from them.”
“Talk is talk, love. Besides, if they try anything, I’ll put them down for the count.”
“Threatening my friends now, are we?”

“Just looking out for your well being,” Sara said, turning to him.
“And I thank you for that,” Tyler said, taking her in his arms and planting a kiss on her lips. By now they had reached the group, and everyone’s mouth was hanging open.
“They’re staring at us,” Tyler said with his eyes still closed.
“Let them stare,” Sara said, still kissing him. “This should be nothing new to them since they do it all the time.” This drew a chuckle out of Tyler as they broke away and turned to the group, who were still in a state of shock.
“Okay guys, snap out of it!” Tyler said, blushing.
“Who are you, and what did you do to Tyler?!” Tai asked, smiling.
Tyler laughed. “Don’t worry, it’s still me. Let’s just say I’ve had a shocking revelation over the past few days.” He grabbed a smiling Sara around the waist and brought her close to him.
“Looks like you were right, TK,” Davis whispered to TK before turning to the new couple. “What happened to your hair?” he asked.
“And your eyes,” Kari added, noticing the silver-black tint that adorned them.
“There were some things that required changes to take place,” Sara said. “To make a long story short, and I’m sure you guessed it, we’re a couple now.” She and Tyler grinned wildly while thrusting out two fingers in signs of victory.
The group was silent at first, then erupted in applause and happy chatter. Even Izzy smiled, but it was in relief though. Now he didn’t have to worry about Tyler aiming for his blood. The only one that didn’t seem to be happy was Mimi. She stood in the back of the group with a spaced out look as emotions she didn’t think would come to her conflicted in her mind. The one that stood out from them the most confused and scared her: Jealousy.
‘What’s going on?’ she thought to herself. ‘Why am I feeling this way? I have Izzy, so why am I jealous of them?’ No matter how much she tried to shake the feeling, she couldn’t get over the fact that she wanted the same attention that Tyler was giving Sara. What’s more, she noticed his body was the same way as when they first got together. No longer did it look as if he had gone slightly anemic. His skin, although limited to his arms being visible, was stretched over his muscles to show their defines. His face was angular and bright, his eyes no longer haunted with sadness or contempt. All in all, this wasn’t the same Tyler that she met years ago. This one was more livelier, more energetic, as if he found a part of him that had been missing for years. She pondered this as she looked at the similarities that the couple had between each other, from their oddly colored hair to their eyes. She now knew what that old saying meant that people say a lot: You never know what you have until it’s gone. Right there, she felt like crying, both from jealousy and loss.
‘I lost him,’ she thought to herself. ‘How could I have been so stupid?! He loved me enough to try to keep the relationship! And I did the most stupidest thing in the world by letting him go for…for…money!’
She tried not to cry, but the tears rolled down her eyes anyway. Rather than be sad, though, rage flooded her body to the point she could feel it seeping out of her pores. Unfortunately, no subconscious thought ran through her mind, telling her not to engage in a pointless struggle, for it was blocked out by her anger. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists, leveling a very stern glare at Sara, who was busy scratching the back of her head, and grinning wildly at her cousin.

‘Mimi’s about to attack you,’ Tyler thought to Sara, while talking to the boys.
‘I know,’ Sara thought back to him.
Everyone stopped talking as a scream filled with rage tore through the area. They turned to see Mimi barreling full speed toward them, eyes ablaze with anger and hatred, and hands stretched out, ready to grab Sara by her throat and mangle her. Sighing, Sara stepped out of the way of Mimi, letting her run past her. Mimi tried to stop herself, but was unsuccessful as she tripped on a rock that jutted out from the ground, and landed flat on her face. Izzy ran over to her to help her up, wondering why did she do that. Mimi jumped up from the ground, nearly knocking Izzy over, and turned to Sara.
“Mimi, what are you doing?” Sara asked.
Mimi couldn’t speak. So blinded by rage she was, she forgot how to talk for a few seconds. There was only one thought that kept running through her mind.
‘How can she just come here out of nowhere and take my man? MY MAN?!’ Fresh tears ran down her face as she screamed and tried to charge again, only to be stopped by Izzy grabbing her by the waist.
“Mimi!” he cried, struggling to hold her back. “Mimi, calm down!”
“Yeah, what’s your problem?” Jun asked, perplexed by the whole ordeal.
“YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME! YOU DID IT! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!” She screamed as she struggled harshly against Izzy’s strong grip.
“What are you talking about?” Sara asked calmly.
“TYLER, HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME FOR THAT TRAMP!!!” Mimi cried, now trying for Tyler’s throat.
“Tramp?” Tyler echoed incredulously. “You’re one to be talking. From what I remember, YOU were the one that left me. And it wasn’t on good terms either.”
“And if you don’t calm down right now, it’ll be more than just bad terms hanging over your head!” This came from the child of light, Kari herself. She had enough of Mimi’s act of apology. She knew all along that what the pink haired girl said as an apology only served as a ruse to win them over. Se knew it from that night at the rock concert that Mimi was up to something. She could even sense it at the picnic, and from the fake apology she gave to everyone. Apparently, Tyler and Sara knew it as well, for they didn’t seem as surprised as everyone else.
Mimi stopped struggling and looked at her, as well as everyone else. Kari had a look on her face that told of frustration and apparent anger. She stepped to the front of the group and leveled a gaze at Mimi.
“You’ve been doing this for too long,” she started. “You gave us that fake apology to win us over to your side, all the while you were planning to torture Tyler more with your conniving heart! If anyone’s a tramp here, it would be you, because you fit so well in the category. Bottom line, YOU’RE A SELFISH, GOLD DIGGING TRAMP!!”
“You guys have been hanging around me for far too long,” Tyler said, sweat dropping.
“You’re a big influence on a lot of people, love,” Sara said to him.
“I knew you were up to something when you showed up at the concert,” Kari continued. “I saw it in your eyes. You were the influence behind his dream, too.”
This statement made Tyler turn and look at her in surprise. Of course, she knew about the dream because he told everyone about it a week ago, but Kari sounded like she knew about it all along. And what did she mean by her being the influence? Tyler didn’t remember saying that to anyone.
“You shouldn’t even worry about them being together in the first place,” Kari went on quite calmly. “As he said before, that relationship was over when it first started.”
Now Tyler was getting spooked. The only person he told that to was Sara, and that was yesterday. He turned his attention fully to Kari and studied her.
“I guess some things can’t be helped, can it?” Mimi asked menacingly, with a small smirk on her face. Izzy looked at her, confused at what she said.
“And some things are told to others just by looking at them,” Kari said venomously. She turned her head to Tyler and glared at him with an evil smirk on her face. This made everyone turn and stare at her, then at Mimi, who still had a smirk on her face as well and staring at Tyler. Tyler, on the other hand, was still studying Kari with his Mind’s Eye. There was something about her that was foreign, yet familiar. Suddenly, his eyes widened and he took a step back.
“Y-You…” he stammered.
Kari narrowed her eyes and smiled at him evilly. Tyler looked at Mimi, who was doing the same thing, then back at Kari. Suddenly, with a sigh, she fell face forward to the ground, passing out. Everyone rushed to her side to check on her. At the same time, Mimi blinked and looked around.
“Izzy?” she said, looking at him in a sort of daze. “What’s going on?”
“You tell me,” Izzy said, helping her stand up. She looked at him in confusion, and then at the group tending to Kari, then up at Tyler, who had a haunted look on his face as he looked at the child of light on the ground. Sara noticed Tyler looking spaced out, and ran over to him.
“Tyler?” she said, shaking him. “Tyler, what’s wrong?”
Tyler couldn’t speak. He was frozen with fear. The only sound he made was his breathing, which was sped up, as he listened to a sweet, sultry voice that played through his mind, laughing softly but evilly at him.
‘Baka,’ the voice sang, fading out.

To be continued…

I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHATSOEVER where the concept of adding a succubus came from, but it opened another epic adventure to write on. This is the last chapter in this story. It may be short, but that was to be expected. As I said before, this stuff just comes off the top of my head. I’m going to try a short Thanksgiving fic before I start on it, though. I’ll do the same for Christmas when it rolls around. Until those times, read and review!
