Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ It's All Coming Back To Me Now ❯ New Soccer Star ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Hello everyone! I'm back with another Taito!! I hope everyone likes this new story! It's gonna be long, My first thought was to have a VERY long prologue where the story starts, but I decided that I would have it be the first several chapters instead, Since this chapter is a bit longer than my usual chapter length, and its not even the beginning of what the 'prologue' would be. Anyway, Enjoy!!
Disclamer: I do not own Digimon, or Celine Dion, where I got the inspiration from the song, “It's all coming back to me now.”
Note: in this story, Takeru is only a year younger than Yamato.
Chapter 1: The New Soccer Star
Yamato Ishida, son of Billionaire Quark Ishida, was entering his senior year of high school. He had went to school there in Tokyo all his life, grew up with the same kids, had the same friends. He had been raised in a very religious part of the city, and his father had taught him morals very early on in life.
Yamato lived in a great big mansion. He only saw his father on the weekends, during the week he was pretty much left alone, other than the maid. He had a little brother, Takeru, who was a year younger than him, but he hardly ever saw him. His parents had divorced when he was very young, and they moved out of Tokyo city.
Yamato had a secret. One in which he thought for sure he would never ever tell anyone. Especially not his father. He knew his father would hate him for it.
He was pulled out of his thoughts as the limo stopped, and the driver stepped out and opened the door for him. Matt smiled.
“Thanks, Clark.”
“No problem. I'm sorry your father wasn't able to take the time to drive you himself this morning.”
Yamato put his head down. He was trying not to think about it. His father had taken him to school on the first day, every year. He had never missed one. But this year, the last one, he finally had.
“Me too, Clark. But thank you very much for bringing me.”
Clark sensed his sadness. “Would you like me to pick you up as well?”
Yamato shook his head. “Nah, as long as it's not raining, I'll walk.”
Clark nodded and got back in the limo. Yamato grabbed his backpack, not yet full of books, and headed off to get his schedule.
All the students were supposed to gather in the gymnasium where they were to have another boring lecture and then receive their schedule. Yamato looked around at the people around him. He never had any close friends, but he didn't have enemy's either. He was happy for that. As he was scanning the crowed, he noticed a new guy. He had brown hair, brown eyes, tanned skin. Yamato tried not to stare, but he couldn't help himself. It was as if he was being dragged to him. He finally managed to pull himself away as the principal spoke.
“Hello students, I'm Mr. Fizzwidget.”
Yamato couldn't help but laugh to himself. It was the funniest name he had ever heard. He was glad that in his 3 years in high school so far, he had never been in his office, because he thought if he ever did, he would have laughed in his face.
Mr. Fizzwidget continued his boring speech. Yamato just nodded along like he was paying attention, and every couple of minutes he would peak over at the new guy. The new guy was holding a piece of paper and he kept staring at it. He wondered what it said.
He focused back on Mr. Fizzwidget, who was still yapping on. After about a half-hour of a speech, Mr. Fizzwidget then looked in Yamato's general direction. Matt was suddenly paying attention.
“Now the final announcement for the day, and one that will prove to be the best news for you sports fans.”
Yamato HATED sports, but somehow he was very interested.
“The last few years, our Soccer team has been in a bit of a slump. I know there are some seniors in our school who REALLY want to win! So, I pulled some strings, and got someone to transfer here to try and save the day! Ladies and gentleman, please give a warm welcome to Mr. Taichi Kamiya.”
Yamato turned and watched the new kid stand up, and walk down the path, to where Mr. Fizzwidget, was standing.
Taichi looked through the crowed as everyone was applauding. As he was looking, he caught Yamato's eye, and Taichi got a weird smile on his face. Then he pulled out the paper he had been reading moments before and read out loud to everyone.
“Hello everyone. My name is Taichi Kamiya, but you can call me Tai if you want. Anyway..” Yamato could tell he was nervous. “I am here to help the team pull out a victory! I will do my best, to make this high school a winner! Just like the school I was at last year!”
The crowed cheered. But Yamato was still thinking. “His family moves with him every year? And why am I so drawn to him?”
As Taichi walked back up the bleachers, he game Yamato a smile. He smiled back, although he had no idea why.

During lunch that day, Yamato sat alone like he always did. He had learned in high school that most of the people in the lunch room were either talking about sex, drugs, or alcohol, none of which he was interested in. Well... He WAS a guy, of course he was interested in sex, but he wasn't interested in having sex with anything that moved, he was waiting for the right person. Thus, he was unpopular because he wasn't doing the 'cool' thing. But he would rather be lonely that get a girl pregnant or worse, get an STD.
He shiverd at the thought of having sex with a woman. 'But why?' Yamato asked himself. 'It's Natural!'
Yamato was just about to pull out his mp3 player like he always did at lunch, when he heard a voice.
“Is this seat taken?” Yamato looked up. It was Taichi.
“No.” Yamato said nervously. “But I'm not a popular person to sit with.”
Taichi blinked. “I don't care about popularity.”
Yamato looked confused. “But, your a soccer star. Your famous.”
Taichi smiled. “I don't play soccer to be popular, I do it because it's what I love to do. That doesn't mean I conform to what everyone else does. I don't do drugs, or drink. Nor have I ever had sex. So even though I'm great a soccer, I still don't have any friends here at least. I had one friend, Daisuke, where I used to live, but here, people seem different.”
Yamato smiled. “I think we might get along then. I don't do those things either. I don't understand how it could be so fun to have random meaningless sex.” As he finished, he took a drink of Coke.
“Yeah.” Taichi said nodding. “I could never go have sex with a random guy I just met.”
At the word 'Guy', Yamato choked. His Coke went everywhere, including on Taichi's shirt.
Once Yamato could breathe, he jumped up, grabbed a napkin, and tried to wipe Taichi off.
“It's okay!” Taichi said. Yamato kept wiping it up. After it was dry, he sat down.
“At least it's a dark shirt.” Taichi said. “What made you have that reaction?”
“You said... Guy.”
Taichi smiled like someone cheered him for scoring a goal.
“Yeah, so? We're gay.”
Yamato was speechless. He didn't know if he should be pissed off at the accusation, or scared that he had finally been found out.
Taichi just smiled.
“I know your confused. I can tell by looking in your eyes.”
Yamato suddenly felt like his soul was being looked at through his eyes.
“I'll tell you what. You looked like you need someone to talk to.” Tai handed Matt an address.
“No pressure, but if you want to talk about what your feeling, or if you just want to make a friend, Here's where you can find me.”
Yamato took the paper and looked at it. When he lifted his head again Taichi was gone. He looked back down at the paper, wondering what to do.
