Chapter 7: Accidents Happen
by Wannabe Koushiro
A/N- Lemon Alert Number 3(2 1/2?). As for the title of this chapter, luckily no
one is pregnant again, though I've been tossing that idea around in my head
lately.
**************************************
The crisp night air bit at my skin as Tai and I walked down the street. I felt
bad leaving Nika and Izzy to go home by themselves, but I guess having her
digimon with her was just as good as me walking her home. At least, I hope it
is. The silence between us bothered me a bit, but I knew Tai would wait until we
got home before he started in on me. I was almost dreading getting home and
wishing I had walked Nika home.
I guess I was worrying for nothing though. We were half way home when Tai put
his arm around me. I looked at him curiously.
"I'm not mad at you." He told me softly.
"You're not?" I asked, somewhat surprised.
"It's not my place to be. I'm a bit disappointed at you, but..." He trailed off.
"To tell the truth, I'm disappointed in me too." I said. "What would she think
though?"
"I'm not Nika, so I couldn't say." Tai answered. "And I'm not a psychiatrist or
anything, but I think you're afraid that she won't love you anymore. Which I
seriously doubt would happen."
I didn't answer for a while. Maybe I was afraid that Nika wouldn't love me. I
think I'm more afraid of losing her respect, or, worse yet, of having her treat
me like a stranger. "What makes you think that?" I asked. I felt him shrug in
response.
"I honestly don't know." He said. "Wasn't Kari about the same age when we looked
at that scrapbook?"
"Kari's been through a lot more and is pretty tough." I said. "I don't think I
want to expose Nika to something like that. Heck, it was a lot for even me." I
admitted, shivering at the thought of those pictures. "You remember what
happened."
"Yeah..." Tai breathed. "You were pretty tough, I got to give you that."
"It wasn't just me. I couldn't have done it without you." Kami-sama, did I
actually say that?
"We make a pretty good team, don't we?" Tai commented. I didn't answer. I just
leaned into him some more. I was getting really cold and I didn't take a jacket
with me this morning, so I could really use the warmth. "You okay?" Tai asked.
"I'm freezing." I told him.
"It's not that cold." He answered. I glared at him. "Is it?"
"You were smart enough to grab a jacket." I told him.
"For a change, I was smarter than you. And you admitted it?! This is priceless!"
Tai started laughing. "Actually, I had practice which is why I'm wearing a
jacket. We thought it was going to rain." He explained once he had calmed down.
If you can believe this, Tai actually gave up on soccer. I know, I could hardly
believe it myself. He took up track instead. It didn't really make much sense to
me. Instead of running back and forth on a field, he's now just running in a
straight line. Maybe he thought there was more of a purpose to it. I certainly
don't see the point in doing either.
"If you were going to run in the rain you would have gotten soaked anyway. Those
aren't really the most rain-proof jackets." I had borrowed his jacket once when
it was raining and when I got back I looked like a drowned rat. Actually, it was
worse than that, but I won't go into that.
"Here." He said as he slipped off his jacket. "If you're so cold, you wear it."
"Arigato." I told him as I slipped it over my head.
"What would you do without me?" Tai teased me. I just blushed. We walked a ways
in silence again. We were almost home when Tai spoke again. "Hey, what are you
doing tomorrow?"
I paused to think. Tomorrow was Saturday...I didn't have any plans and I didn't
have to work. "Well, I don't have to work, so I guess nothing. Why?" I asked.
"Well, I don't have any plans either for a change." Tai answered as we got to
our door. "I have half an idea."
"That's more than you usually have." I teased him.
"Very funny." He said. "Uh, my keys were in my jacket." He said.
"Sorry." I said, rummaging through his jacket's pockets. I finally found his
keys. "What are all these keys for?" I asked as I handed what seemed to be a
bunch of keychains intertwined with each other to Tai because I probably would
have taken all day to figure out which one was for our door.
"Let's see, in addition to our apartment, I have a key for Mom and Dad's, I have
a key for Kari's, both in case of an emergency, and... I really have no clue
what these other ones are. I guess they're just decoration now."
I just shook my head. "Tai, you're a packrat." I told him as we walked in. "So,
what did you have in mind for tomorrow?" I asked as I laid down on the couch.
"For now, that's a secret." He said as he climbed on top of me. I gave him a bit
of a puppy dog face. Tai laughed. "That is the screwiest face I've ever seen you
make."
I had to laugh too. It must have looked pretty pathetic. "Okay, okay. I won't
ask anymore then." I said.
"Good." He said as he bent down to kiss me. For what seemed to be at least five
minutes.
"What was that for?" I asked when he stopped so we could catch our breath. Tai
just grinned at me.
"You didn't like that?" He asked me innocently.
"Of course I liked it. I was just a bit surprised, I guess." I told him.
"How's this for a surprise?" Tai asked as he started fondling my balls. I just
gasped and started breathing a bit heavier.
"Didn't we do this last night?" I asked between gasps.
"Last night we had whipped cream." Tai answered as he undid my pants. "That, and
it's my turn to be on top." I wasn't about to complain. I was a bit rough with
him last night. I flipped over. As soon as I did I felt Tai rub his member
against me. It felt a bit strange, but I was used to it. It was even making me
hornier, if that was possible. "You ready?" Tai asked softly in my ear. I just
nodded. I could barely think, let alone talk. I also barely noticed that he was
screwing me in the ass for a few moments until I realized that he had found a
rhythm.
"I don't know why, but this feels so good." I managed to say at some point. I
don't know when, but Tai had reached around me and was working at my erection.
"You know why?" Tai asked in my ear. I couldn't really answer the way I was
feeling, but I nodded, hoping he realizes I was answering his question. "A lot
of reasons, but I think the big one is because we love each other." I think he
was right, but all I could do was nod. I suddenly lost the sensation of his hand
around my prick.
"What the...?" I managed to ask.
"I'm coming." Tai explained as I felt him tense up behind me.
"I was about to." I said.
"Two choices: One, start using your own hand, or, two, wait and I'll suck you
off." He told me.
"Number two sounds good to me." I said. "Though don't expect me to return in
kind."
"I don't blame you." Tai said as he pulled out. He went limp on me. And I wasn't
referring to you-know-what. I meant his whole body did.
"You mind?" I asked.
"You seem to like it." Tai teased me. He rolled on to the floor. I rolled onto
my back, staying on the couch. "Of course, you like this too." He said as he
started licking me. Before I knew it, he had started doing what he had promised
to do.
I just sat back and enjoyed it. It was over almost as quickly as it began
though. "You're good at that." I commented afterwards. I was still lying on the
couch, waiting for my brain to come back on-line. Tai had climbed back up from
the floor and was on the couch with me. "I didn't know I was going to blow that
quickly."
"It's okay." Tai said. "You said you were pretty close anyway. It's no big
deal."
"You've sure mellowed out." I told him. "Anyway, why were you so gentle to me
tonight? I kind of roughed you up last night. Which, by the way, I'm sorry for."
Tai gathered me up in a great hug. "I didn't care that you were rough with me. I
think you had a rough day and were taking it out on me. Remember, I used to do
that to you." I blushed. I had forgotten that he did that. "As for why I was
gentle, I thought it would be a nice change from the roughness." He grinned at
me. "It was also because I love you." He added quietly.
"Just make me feel worse about it now." I smiled to take the sting out of my
words. "Just promise me that if I ever do something like that again, you'll slap
me."
"I'll think about it." Tai smiled at me. "You're not really serious about that,
are you, Izzy?" He asked.
"Actually, I am. And I'm definitely serious about you not calling me that." I
told him. "Though I must say I was amazed when we were at Kari's. I really
thought you were going to slip. If you had, I was just going to let the bug
answer you."
"You're cruel. And you know I only do it when we're alone."
"I know." I leaned up to kiss him. "What did I do to deserve you?" I asked.
"Hmm....good question." Tai said. "And here's a question I think I know the
answer to already. Want to get up early with me and go running?"
I thought for a few moments. I did have a bit of hard time keeping up with Nika
earlier. Maybe I should. "Actually, I would love to go running with you." I
answered. "Hopefully I won't die before we get down the stairs."
"You're not in that bad of shape, Izzy." I sighed.
"I could barely keep up with Nika today. It was actually pretty bad." I told
him. "When are we getting up then?"
"Five." Tai answered.
"That's pretty early." I said, strecthing in the limited space. "You know, I'm
tired and don't feel like moving."
"It's only...11:00...okay, maybe if we're getting up in six hours we should go
to bed." Tai said and got up.
"I'm sleeping here." I said and stretched a bit more.
"You want to sleep on the lumpy couch and then go running? And you think I'm
crazy? That, and I don't want to sleep alone." I had one eye open and watched
him think, and, unfortunately for me, he got an idea. The next thing I knew
there wasn't anything under me but Tai's arms.
"Tai! What do you think you're doing?" I asked as my arms went around him in a
reflex action.
"Carrying you." He answered. I took a few deep breaths.
"How romantic." I said sarcastically. I finally calmed down as he set me down on
the bed. "Next time, warn me before you do that." Tai gave me a look that said
more or less 'why should I?' and climbed in next me.
"Izzy, you need to learn to relax a bit." He told me.
"That was a bit of a shock." I said as I rolled over. "Good night, dear." I
didn't even hear Tai say goodnight as I was already asleep.
It was completely dark. I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. It was
also cold. I hate to say it, but I was scared. "Hello?" I called out. "Anyone
here?" I didn't get an answer. It seemed I had been standing there for quite
awhile.
"Things will be like this forever..." I heard a voice whisper. I felt an even
colder chill go through me.
Didn't this happen like eight or so years ago, just before Nika was born? I
shook my head. From somewhere beyond I heard the alarm clock....The alarm clock?
What the... I opened my eyes. Must have been a dream.
"Who set the clock for this hour?" I asked groggily. It was five in the morning.
I heard Tai stir next to me.
"We're going running, remember?" Tai asked.
"Sorry." I said, a bit more awake. I sat up. "At this hour though?"
"It's the best time. There's no traffic and next to no one else out at this
hour." Tai explained as he got dressed.
"I don't know why I agreed to this..." I muttered as I pulled on my sweats.
"Because you're mad at yourself for not keeping up with Nika yesterday." Tai
reminded me.
"Thanks for the reminder."
"You don't have to go if you don't want to."
"No, I want to. I just need a bit of encouragement." I said as I yawned. "Or a
bit of caffeine."
"Sorry, all you get to drink until we're done is water. It's better for you.
That and we won't have to stop thirty times to piss." I laughed at that.
"That's one way to put it." I said. "Okay, I just have to find my sneakers and
I'll be ready."
I was digging in the closet for my shoes. "Where did they go?" I hadn't been
digging long when I felt something fall on my back. "OW! Tai, was that you?" I
asked. I could hear him laughing at that.
"No, it wasn't me. It was a pair of shoes that fell. But it wasn't your
sneakers." He said.
"I know because I just found them." I said, pulling them out. I picked up the
pair that had fallen. I blushed. "And I accused you of being a pack rat. Maybe
Nika could wear these..." That must have been what Tai was laughing at. For some
reason, I was strangely attached to the shoes I had when we first went to the
digital world, the purple ones with the lightning bolts on them. They actually
still looked pretty decent. That was because I never wore them after we got
home.
"Alright, already. Let's get to running." Tai said.
"I...am...never...doing...this...again." I said as I gasped for breath. We had
ran for the last hour. I must be more out of shape than I thought. I collapsed
in the nearest chair.
"I guess you were in pretty bad shape." Tai commented. "I thought you could at
least keep up with me."
"Guess we were wrong, huh?" I said. "I feel dizzy." I just realized what I had
said and what it rhymed with. "Don't even think of saying it, Tai. In fact, just
don't even think it. I really mean it." I threatened him.
Tai was trying to hold back his laughter. "Too late. I already thought it."
"Great..." I muttered.
"Here." Tai said, handing me a glass of orange juice. I gulped it down.
"Thanks." I paused for a bit. "I hurt all over."
"You're just not used to it. If you'd get up everyday with me and do that..."
Tai trailed off as I started to glare at him.
"Do you think I'm crazy?" I asked, sitting up straight.
"If you want the truth, yes." Tai answered me.
"That was a rhetorical question, you know. If I can make it to the bathroom, I'm
going to take a shower." I told him. "Maybe I won't hurt as much." I dragged
myself out of the chair and headed towards the bathroom.
I love the fact that moving water relaxes your muscles which is why I was
definitely feeling better after taking my shower. I'm serious, I'm never running
again unless I have to. I smelled something cooking. I smiled. Tai must be
trying to suck up to me for some reason. Hopefully it doesn't have something to
do with this.
I got dressed in something a bit more normal, and went out to the kitchen. "That
smells great." I said as I approached. Tai turned and grinned at me.
"Actually, it's a bit experimental." He explained. "At least we know who'll eat
it if we don't."
"So, what's in it?" I asked, wondering if I should have asked.
"Eggs, wasabe, picante sauce, Swiss and American cheese, and bacon bits." Tai
answered.
"Uh...ooookay...That's quite an ethnic combination you have there." I said. "I
guess it doesn't sound too bad. And where are the 'mons?" I asked, realizing I
hadn't seen them since we came back from Kari's.
"They know where they live. I wouldn't worry about them." Tai said.
"I know." I said, leaning my head against his back. "I feel kind of wierd not
being around them though."
"You know they don't like being around us when we...you know..." Tai said.
"I know." I repeated.
"They'll be home soon." Tai said to reassure me. I just hated to think what kind
of trouble Tentomon was getting himself into without me, though. Actually, it's
probably Agumon getting him into trouble. "Want to try this?" He asked me.
"I might as well." I said. I grabbed a fork and stabbed at...I guess you could
call it an omelet. I don't really know what to call it. Anyway, nothing could
have prepared me for the taste. Even knowing there was spicy stuff in
it....phew!
"Well, what do you think?" Tai asked.
"Spicy..." I managed to choke out.
"I didn't think it was that spicy." Tai said. I was trying to swallow a glass of
water.
"I think you discovered the secret behind Agumon's Pepper Breath." I said
between swallows.
"Ha ha. Was it really that bad?" Tai asked.
"Actually, it was pretty good." I said. "You must have an iron stomach though."
"You know I do." Tai answered. "I guess this is done." He said about the
'omelet.'
I got a couple of plates for us. "So, what's this big secret plan of yours for
today?" I asked while we ate.
"It's still a secret. I need to call Kari first."
I sighed. "When do I get to find out?"
"Later, hon, later. Just trust me, okay? Calm down." Tai advised me.
"Okay, okay. I want to call Mom anyway and ask her if Nika could wear those
shoes."
"Why do you still have those, anyway? I mean, it's not like they even fit
anymore."
I shrugged. "Just do. Sentimental reasons, maybe? How should I know? And that's
why I'm going to see if Nika can wear them."
"You don't have to bite my head off. Sheesh." Tai sighed.
"Sorry." I said. "I have not had a good day so far. And it's only..." I glanced
at the clock. "8:30?" I lowered my head into my hands. "This is definitely not a
good day." And I had the feeling it could only get worse.
I heard Tai get up. He ruffled my hair as he walked past. "It'll get better,
trust me." He said as he grabbed my plate. "You mind doing the dishes? I need a
shower myself."
"Yeah." I said, getting up. I picked up the phone as I went to the kitchen to do
that. I dialed as I waited for the sink to fill. Then I had to wait a while for
someone to finally answer the phone.
"Hello?" A sleepy voice answered.
"Nika?" I asked.
"Yeah. Who's this?" She asked.
"It's your brother." I told her. "Who, unfortunately wants to talk to Mom." I
continued on.
"Okay, okay. Hang on." Nika said.
"What's with her?" I muttered under my breath as I waited.
"Hello." I heard Mom's cheery voice.
"Hi, Mom. I have a question for you that might sound a bit strange. What's Nika
shoe size in boy's?"
"What do you want to know that for?" Mom asked.
"Remember those purple and black shoes of mine? I happen to have found them and
they're still wearable. I thought maybe I'd give them to Nika if she wants
them." I explained as I scrubbed dishes.
"She could probably wear those. Do you think she'd want them though?"
"I've always thought she has a bit of an eclectic taste. Oh, well. A few years
and she'll be more concerned with how she looks, right?" I asked, remembering
most of the girls I knew. They hit 12 or 13 and suddenly it was 'How do I look?'
and stuff like that.
"You're probably right." Mom said. "So, how are you doing?"
"Pretty good, even though so far I've had a bad day." I went on to explain about
running this morning and the fire breath that Tai's omelet caused.
"It'll get better later, Koushiro." Mom said.
"That's what Tai told me." I said. "I better get going, I have things to do
yet."
"Alright. I'll talk to you later then."
"Tell Nika I'm sorry for not talking to her more. Bye, Mom. Love you." I said
quickly as I hung up.
"Done with the phone?" Tai asked as he snuck up on me.
"Please don't sneak up on me." I requested. "And yes, I am through with the
phone, and with the dishes." I said as I rinsed off the last plate. "Catch." I
said as I threw the phone at him.
"Thanks." He said as he caught it. "I'll be back in a minute. It's still a
secret, by the way, so try not to eavesdrop on my half." I gave him a 'would I
do that sort of thing?' look.
"I won't." I smiled at him.
"Hey, maybe this idea of mine will turn your day around."
"I wouldn't count on it." I muttered as he went into the bedroom to make his
phone call.
I knew my day was just going to get worse. Tai's idea was good in theory. His
idea was for us and our sisters, and in Tai's case, his brother-in-law to get
together. How did my day get worse, you ask? Well, the next brilliant idea
someone had was that we should go to the digital world. Okay, okay, that was my
idea. I just had a feeling that Agumon and Tentomon were already there and I was
worried about them.
I regret that idea now. We were all walking as the only one of us who had a
digimon that could digivolve into something large enough for us to ride on was
Nika, who is still scared of bugs. So, that was out. And Nerfertimon could maybe
have carried three of us, but that just wasn't fair. And Ikkakumon is just so
slow on the land. So, we walked.
"Hey, Kari," I started. "Didn't Tentomon used to have a tree he lived in
somewhere around here?"
We stopped as she looked around. "I think so." She answered. "But I don't
remember for sure. Why?"
"Because I'm trying to find him, that's why." I answered. "Why do you think?"
Kari jumped back a bit. "Gomen. I haven't been having a good day." I explained
to her.
"Don't you think that if they want to find us, they will?" Tai asked me.
"You're right." I sighed. I knelt down on the ground.
"Hey, calm down, niisan." I heard Nika say. "It's not the end of the world."
I didn't answer her. I felt something drop on me. I looked up. "I am starting to
get a bit upset at this. And rain isn't going to help my mood any!"
"Starting to?" I heard Tai mutter to Kari. I saw Nika look up at the sky.
We were pretty much in agreement that we should try to get home or at least out
of the rain. "I don't remember it ever raining on us before." I heard Joe say.
"Yeah, we always ended up in a desert." I answered. I wasn't watching what was
going on ahead of me, and I tripped. "Of all the...." I trailed off.
"Koushiro!" I heard Nika holler from behind me. I looked back at her. Apparently
I tripped over her and she had tripped over her own feet.
"Sorry." I said as I got up and went back to help her. "You okay, Nika?" I
asked.
"I will be." She answered me as I heard thunder rumble.
"We need to get going. I don't suppose you'd let Izzy digivolve, would you?" I
asked.
"Uh..." Nika froze.
"He's right, Nika. It'd be the quickest way to get out of here." I heard her
partner try to convince her.
I could feel Nika tremble. "She's right too. We're getting soaked." I commented.
The rain had gotten worse.
"Okay, okay." Nika said and nodded at her partner. "We do need to get out of
here and you would be the quickest way." Nika's digivice started glowing.
"It's about time." I heard Izzy say as she started digivolving. I just rolled my
eyes. I watched Nika watch her partner in fascination. It turned out that I was
right all along and she did have the same evolution as Tentomon.
"Ah, crap." I heard Nika say from beside me.
"Nika, watch your language." I told her.
"How do I look?" Nika's partner asked in more a lighter, more feminine voice
that finally didn't sound like me.
"We don't have the time for that." I said as I helped Nika up.
"You look like a big, scary bug, Izzy." Nika said as we took off.
"Nika..." I sighed. "Hold on tight." I advised her. "We don't know how the rain
is going to affect us. With my luck, I'm probably going to fall off." I added
that last bit under my breath.
"I heard that, Koushiro. You're not going to fall off. You've done this more
often than I have." Nika said. "Hey, there's everyone else. Hey! Up here guys!"
She called down to everyone. They all looked up at us.
"Need a ride?" I called down to them. We flew in front of them and landed.
Everyone climbed on in a hurry. We helped Kari on first, then Joe and Tai
climbed on. Gomamon and Gatomon climbed on while we were doing that.
"Anyone besides me have a bit of a feeling of deja-vu?" Tai asked.
"We're not trying to find a dark master this time. And I'm not dying." Kari
answered him. "But, yeah, I have that deja-vu feeling too."
"Me too." I said. "But it wasn't raining and Nika wasn't around then. And
frankly, I want out of this rain before it gets worse, if that's possible."
"What are you guys talking about?" Joe asked.
"I'll explain later." Kari told her husband. "It happened when we all split up.
Right now, I agree with Koushiro. I want out of the rain too."
"Yeah, we're all going to catch pneumonia if we stay out here too much longer."
Joe said.
"I've had it, and it's not fun." Kari said to encourage us.
Tai sat right next to me. "Sorry." He said quietly to me.
"It's not your fault. You can't control the weather." I answered, leaning up
against him.
"I take it this is Izzy, and not Tentomon?" Tai asked. I nodded in answer. The
color difference should have been enough of an answer for him. Somehow, Izzy
managed to stay purple, with the exception of some of the exterior muscles. "How
did..." He trailed off. He knew as well as I did that Nika was scared to death
of bugs.
"Beats me, but it beats running, doesn't it?" I said. "What's with the weather
though? We've never seen it rain here before."
"How else would the plants grow?" Gatomon answered.
"Good point." I said. "But this just feels...wrong." After I said that I glanced
at Kari. She had a far out look on her face.
"He's right." Kari agreed with me. "This is wrong." Before we could comment
anymore on that, there was a flash of lightning right in front of us. Izzy
changed direction quickly to avoid it. The girls and I screamed. Nika and Kari
screamed because of the lightning. I was screaming because, guess what, I was
falling. The sudden change of direction had thrown me off.
"Koushiro!" I heard Tai call to me as he tried to catch me before I could fall.
I didn't fall far though. When I realized I wasn't falling anymore I noticed
that there were claws underneath me. They weren't Izzy's claws though.
The claws that had caught me were attached to an orange hand that was attached
to an arm with blue stripes on it. I cautiously opened my other eye. "Greymon?"
I asked. "Am I glad to see you." I said.
"Great catch, bud!" I heard Tai yell.
"Next time you guys want to play catch, please don't use me as the ball." I
said.
"Sorry!" Izzy called back at us. I sighed.
"This really isn't my day. You mind following her?" I asked Greymon as I pointed
towards Izzy.
"No problem." He answered.
I was cold and soaked by the time we caught up with the others at the nearest
portal. Tai ran up to me as I climbed down from Greymon.
"You're soaked, hon." He said as he hugged me. I just glared at him.
"Tell me something I don't know." I muttered. "And it's not like you don't look
much better." I told him.
"I'm just glad you're okay." Tai told me. "Here's some good news. Look who we
found." He gestured over at the rest of the group.
"Tentomon!" I exclaimed as I went over to him. "Where have you been?"
"Here and there." The little ladybug-like monster answered me as I picked him
up. The next thing I knew Nika was running up to me.
"Koushiro! I'm so sorry." She said as she wrapped herself around my leg. "I
didn't know..." She trailed off. I had to set down Tentomon so I could comfort
Nika.
"Nika, it's not your fault, it's not Izzy's fault either. I'm not blaming either
of you." I told her. "It was the freaky weather. Okay?" Nika nodded.
"I'm still sorry." Nika said.
"I am too." I heard Izzy chime in. She was back in a stage where her voice was
that haunting echo of my child-like voice.
"Well, don't be. Right now, we need to get home." After I said that I sneezed.
"Great." I felt Tai put his arm around me again.
"We all here?" Kari asked. I looked around to make sure. Everyone nodded in
agreement and we jumped through the little TV.
I sneezed and sniffled all the way home. I felt just awful. "Tai?" I started.
"What?" He answered.
"What did I do to deserve this?" I asked. I heard him chuckle at me. "It isn't
funny." I said, and promptly sneezed again.
"Okay, I'll agree that it isn't funny. You sound worse than Joe during hay fever
season." Tai commented.
"I'll pretend that I didn't hear that." I said.
"I have an idea and it's better than any I've had today." I groaned when he said
he had an idea.
"I don't think I want to hear anymore ideas from you today."
Tai put his arm around me. "How about I make some tea, and we watch a movie,
snuggling on the couch?"
"That actually sounds like a good idea." I said. "This must be why
I....ACHOOO!...love you." I finished up.
We finally got home a while later. I had dried out a bit, but I was chilled to
the bone. Not to mention hungry. I was heading for the kitchen when Tai blocked
my way.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked. I sighed.
"I am hungry, therefore I am heading to the kitchen to get some food." I
answered.
"You are going to sit down on the couch and rest." I started to protest when he
continued on. "I'll bring you something to eat, okay? You've had a rough day and
you deserve a bit of a break." Tai told me as he led me to the couch.
"Tai..." I trailed off. "Thanks." I said finally. He quickly kissed me on the
forehead.
"You move, you die." He teasingly threatened me.
"Even if I have to go to the bathroom?" I asked after he was moving away. I saw
his back droop in a sigh. "I was joking." I told him, and sneezed again. I laid
down on the couch as I waited. I sure hope I don't have pnuemonia. My mind
wandered back on the events in the digital world.
Was that an accident? I mean, Izzy had to avoid the lightning...didn't she? It
wouldn't have done to get us all struck by lightning. But, did she know that her
little manuever would throw me off? Was she truly sorry about it? Or was there
something else going on that I wasn't aware of?
"Izzy?" Tai was talking to me and I was barely aware of it. "Hey, wake up, man."
He said.
"Tai, after what happened today, I do NOT want to hear that name for a while,
alright?" I said.
"Sorry." He apologized to me. "Anyway, I know it's not much, but here." He
handed me a plate with a sandwhich on it. I sat up so I could eat it.
"You're too kind." I said sarcastically.
"It's nice to know I'm appreciated around here." Tai said, sitting down. "I'm
sorry about today." He wrapped his arms around me.
"It's not your fault. I just had a bit of bad luck, that's all. It happens to
everyone, right?"
"Right." Tai said as he got up. "Forgot something." He explained as I looked at
him curiously. He went into the bedroom for a couple of minutes. He came back
out with a blanket which he tossed at me. "How about that movie now?
'Armageddon' sound good?"
"What's with you and those American 'the end of the world is upon us we need to
repent or blow something up' movies?" I asked. "But, yeah, that's fine." I told
him as I straightened out the blanket a bit. "By the way, I'm not going to
translate any of it for you." I was the only one of us that could speak English
well.
"That's fine." Tai answered as he joined me on the couch again. "I just want to
be here next to you. Mainly to make up for today." He added.
"It doesn't matter." I said, totally bummed out about the whole day. "I now have
a cold, stiff muscles, heartburn, and I about died today. I had so much fun." I
said sarcastically.
"Relax, Koushiro." Tai told me as he wrapped his arms around me again. "You'll
end up adding an ulcer to that list." He said as he kissed me. "And you're only
20. The way you're talking, you sound like you're 80 or something."
"Gomen." I said quietly.
"Tomorrow will be better." Tai said.
"I know it will be because I'm not getting out of bed." I told him. He just
laughed at me. Which was good because I started laughing myself. The higher
beings knew I needed just that after today.
