Say the Same
An Appurtenant Portion

Before school began the next morning, Koushiro was standing on the steps that led up to the second story, waiting.

He didn't have to wait long.

“Sorry! I'm here!”

Koushiro looked up to see Miyako running through the crowd to him, out of breath and disheveled as per the norm. When she halted in front of him, her book bag fell unceremoniously to the ground. Koushiro grinned as he watched Miyako begin messing with her hair.

“I tell you,” Miyako began, “every morning, without fail!” Miyako paused. “Why are you standing? Did you just get here?”

“Just about,” Koushiro said. “I just didn't feel like sitting.”

“Oh, how come?”

Koushiro grinned mysteriously. “Because I'm sore. Too much…exercise last night.”

“I didn't know you worked out.”

“Uh, it's new…cardiovascular, muscle toning…anyways, I was wondering, do you think you could come with me to Akihabara this weekend?”

“Sure, what are you looking for?”

“Hey guys!”

Not being able to answer, Koushiro turned with Miyako to see Takeru, Yamato and Ken walking up to them.

Takeru grinned widely. “Déjà vu, anyone?”

“I'm definitely feeling it,” Miyako said.

“So what is it today?” Ken asked. “Another `Early Morning Session with Broken Hardware?'”

Koushiro laughed. “No, this time just hanging out. You guys?”

“It's the same for us,” Yamato said.

“'Unexpected Rendezvous at the Fourth Light?'” everyone said at once, before breaking into laugher.

“So, what did you want to go to Electronics Town for?” Miyako asked again.

“I wanted to look into buying my own Victor Everio,” Koushiro said.

Miyako squealed with all the technological-fangirlishness she could muster. “You fell in love with it, didn't you!? Are you interested in filming now?”

**Yeah,** Koushiro thought. **Amateur porn.** He was saved from having to make up another answer, however, because Miyako was still speaking.

“Speaking of which, have you figured out what's wrong with Neptune's Rebirth?”

“What is that?” Takeru whispered to Yamato.

“The video camera,” Yamato whispered back.

“Oh yeah…”

“Not yet,” Koushiro was telling Miyako, “but I figure if I have my own that works properly I'll be able to get a better idea of how the system works.”

Miyako grinned. “How are you going to name yours?”

“I was thinking `Voyeuristic Tendency.'”

“Cool!”

Takeru and Yamato, and even Ken, stared at Koushiro and Miyako like they had lost their minds. Then when the two of them merely shrugged and said, “It's a techno-geek thing,” the other three all exchanged glances.

“Hey, you lazy bums! Get to class!”

The group looked up to see Taichi looking down at them from the second floor, his sister Hikari, standing beside him.

“Get to class yourself!” Yamato yelled back up to him.

“Oh, the tedious monotony of our days,” Ken said then, and Koushiro laughed.

“At the risk of repeating myself,” Takeru began, “I guess I'll go now!” Takeru signaled for Hikari to wait for him. “Until tomorrow's repetition of today!” he told the others, and with one final grin at his brother, Takeru walked up the steps to meet with Hikari.

“Ken!”

Ken turned and smiled when he saw Daisuke walking up to him. “Twice in a row? This is too good to be true.”

“It's not my fault, that jerk Coach has me running drills for the team in the mornings now,” Daisuke said as the first bell rang.

“How progressive of you,” Ken replied, as he waved goodbye to Koushiro, Yamato and Miyako.

“What did I tell you about the smart-ass morning thing!?” Daisuke whined as the pair walked off.

“I'm just gonna go, then,” Yamato said. “I'll see you two later.”

“See ya,” Miyako said as Yamato walked off. “So how about this Sunday?” she said to Koushiro then. “We can meet here in front of the school at ten, and the next train will pull into the station down the block at ten-thirty.”

“Sounds good,” Koushiro said. “I'll see you then.”

“See you!” Miyako said, picking up her book bag.

Koushiro stood, now alone, but couldn't help but smile. He must have made quite a sight, standing all alone and grinning like a fool.

“Hey, `Shiro!”

Surprised, Koushiro turned his attention back to the second story.

“I gotta be at work today at four,” Taichi was yelling down to him, “apparently they're pissed that I called in sick yesterday, but I'll still see you after school, okay?”

“Alright,” Koushiro returned, and this time, he didn't hesitate. “I'll be waiting!” he shouted.
