Hmm, well it seems that I completely forgot what the hell I was gonna do with Holy Evolution (Sweat drop appears) oh well. I'll just replace that with Hybrid. Onward!
Chapter Twelve - .45
The day after Daisuke's soccer/football match, he was ready to go on the prowl. He was anxious to find out exactly was going on, since there were so many distractions and Andy, he couldn't go do any looking. But today he was free, and he'd make damn good use of that. Yet since he couldn't find anyone to baby-sit Andy he couldn't and there was no way in hell he'd take his son with him into the Digital World without a Digimon of his own, he couldn't protect him at all times. He sat in thought, only one person came up in his mind, he defiantly did not want to call them, but he had to if he wanted to go today, so with the phone in hand he dialed Kari's number.
“Hello?” A voice on the other end answered.
“Hey, Kari? It's Davis.”
“Oh, hey, wait, how'd you get this number?”
“Oh, I got it from Tai.” He lied, not wanting to say he looked it up in the phone book the day he got home.
“Ah, ok. So, what did you need, something wrong?”
“No, it's just…..”
“…What?”
“Can you baby-sit Andy for a little while?” That caught her off guard.
“Um, sure…I guess.”
“Thanks. Uh, do you want me to bring him over there or… what?”
“I'll guess I can come over there, you still live in your old apartment complex right?”
“No, I'm actually live in… Highten View Terrace now.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, that's the apartment the team manager gave me, apparently it was cheapest. Spare no money for your top player, huh?” She laughed.
“Top player, really now?”
“Heh, well, anyways, I'm in apartment 807.”
“Whoa, right next to our old one.”
“Yea, weird.”
“Well, what time do you need me to watch him?”
“Well, I was hoping to leave in an hour or so.”
“Okay, I'll be over there in half an hour then.”
“Alright, see ya.”
“Bye.” They both hung up, Davis gritted his teeth, knowing he'd have to talk with her for half an hour.
Davis walked back into the bedroom. He sweatdropped as he looked around his room. His eye twitched as he saw different weapons around in various places.
“Shit, great, I've gotta hide all this crap.” He said complaining out loud, he grabbed the hidden sword from above the closet rim, the concealed dagger underneath the computer desk and continued with the rest of the training weapons. By the time he'd gotten completely rid of them he heard a knock on the door, but before he could even get out of the room he heard light running footsteps. He smirked and shook his head; it reminded him of himself as a child. This brought back unwanted memories.
He was so deep in thought he hadn't even realized that Andy had already greeted and let Kari in, who was now leaning on the threshold of the door. Still not noticing her, Davis stood just thinking.
“Hey Dai, how long are you going to stand there with that dumb look on your face?” Davis jumped at the voice.
“Oh, sorry I just… wait did you just call me Dai?” Her eyes widened slightly realizing the mistake.
“Oops, it slipped out.”
“It's okay; it's been years since I heard that nickname.”
“….”
“….”
“So are we just going to stand here or what?”
“Right, come on.” He slid beside her, brushing her side, and headed towards the main room.
“So, you want something to drink.”
“Sure.” Their conversation was just idle chit-chat for the most part, until it neared time for Daisuke to leave. Kari asked a quest he really didn't wish to answer.
“So what'd do before you met Andy's mom? I mean, what all did you do before everything?”
“…..” He stayed silent for a few moments, staring blankly past Kari, out the balcony window.
“…..” He finally looked up to her and spoke.
“Do you really want to know what I did before I joined any team, before Andy was born?”
“Yeah, I do.” Kari smiled somewhat.
“……” He thought about his answer for awhile.
“Listen to the song .45, it'll explain somewhat, it'll also tell you what I thought after she died.….. Maybe one day I'll fully explain it, but right now I'm still not ready to.” He stood up, turned a walked toward the door. Leaving Kari with a puzzled face. He stopped and turned.
“I'll be back in a couple of hours….
