The road to destiny?

TK had moved away, his mom had a new job to start and TK had to go, there was nothing left for him. If only he had courage like Tai, but he didn't and he didn't even have his hope anymore.TK never had the courage to tell Kari how he felt, and now it was too late, she had finally given into Davis and they had been going steady for months now. TK was burning up inside, if he didn't leave he would do something stupid.

He left and didn't even say goodbye, although she was with Davis she always wanted and knew that TK was her true love. It was destiny or was it? TK never seemed that interested, Kari was heartbroken when he moved away and even more devastated when he didn't even have the courage to say goodbye.

A year had passed since TK and moved and he knew he had to go back and see Kari, if only for a minute, just to see her smile and see those beautiful brown eyes, he could be happy and never come back again.

He got on the train and fell asleep with Patamon in his arms, when he woke up he was in Tokyo, he sat and watched old meeting places and old memories go by. The train stopped and TK hopped of the train, it was good to be back, he wondered if Kari would even recognize him even if they did get to see each other. TK was much taller and his facial tones were much more distinct, although he still had his baby blue eyes and blonde hair. He had left this place a year before, he was now 16.

He decided first to surprise Matt, they kept in contact and he missed him a lot, he though it would be a nice surprise if he just turned up. He chuckled at the thought of Matt's face when he saw him.

He rang the doorbell of the Ishida household. A 19 year old with the same blonde hair and handsome face as TK's opened the door.

"TK!!!!!!!!"

"MATT!!!!!!!!!"

"what are you doing here little bro?" Matt said with a look of shock and happiness

"I thought I would surprise you"

"well you did just that"

TK gave his big bro a warm hug and then followed Matt into the kitchen.

"so how's the old gang doing?" asked TK hoping that Kari and Davis had broke up.

"A lot has happened since you've been gone"

"like what?!?!"

"well me and Mimi are going out" Matt blushed as he said this

"that's great, I'm really happy for you" he said, still wondering about Kari

"Tai and Sora are still together"

"well we all knew they were the perfect couple, how longs that now?"

"2 years"

"and how's Kari?" enquired TK

"well she's still going out with Davis" feeling a little for his little bro who he always knew had deep feelings for Kari

"Oh" said TK a little disappointed

"cheer up, how about I get the gang together, we could all go out to the beach" suggested Matt

"sure sounds good to me" replied TK

Matt wandered off into the next room, he rung the Kamiya household first

"ring ring" "oh hey Sora, I've got great news, TK is here!!!"

Over at the Kamiya household Tai and Kari were fighting over what to watch on TV.

"hey, guess what?" shouted Sora smiling

Tai and Kari stopped fighting and looked up at Sora.

"what is it?" asked Tai

"TK is back in town!!!!!!" replied Sora excitedly

"that is great!" said Tai grinning at Sora

"he...he is?" asked a shocked Kari

"yes, and we're invited to the beach for a welcome home party"

"cool when?" asked Kari in a daze

"tomorrow at 2"

Back at the Ishida household TK was lying on the sofa staring at the ceiling with Patamon asleep on his lap. Everything was whirling around in his head. "

What would I say to her? Can I confess his love? Would she love me back? And what about Davis?"

His thoughts were interrupted by Matt coming back in the room.

"right everything is organized, the whole gang is coming"

It was late morning and TK was getting ready.

"how do I look?" asked Patamon, he was wearing a bowtie.

"you look great, I'm sure Gatomon will love the bowtie"

His thoughts were still on Kari,

"should I have told her how he felt when he had the chance all that time ago?, he shaked the thought out of his head. The past was the past and there was nothing he could do about it"

Kari sat in her room thinking of TK. "

Why was he back? Was he finally going to say what he felt? Do i still love him?"

She got ready for the beach, packing her swimsuit, a towel and some suntan lotion

"come on Gatomon we've got to go or we'll be late"

"but I've got to look my best for Patamon, do I look alright?"

"you look beautiful, now come on"

Tai and Sora were waiting in the car. Kari hoped in the car and they drove to Davis's house.

"hey Kari" said Davis as he smiled and kissed her on the cheek

"hey Davis" she smiled back weakly

"so TS I mean TK is back, I hope he doesn't think he can steal you away from me" laughed Davis. Kari tried to smile, but she was deep in though, she looked at Davis.

How did I end up with him?

TK jumped into the car

"ready TK?" asked Matt

"sure"

When they arrived all the digidestined were there. Tai and Sora were leaning up against a tree cuddling. Mimi and Kari were sunbathing. Izzy and Joe were playing a game on Izzy's laptop. Ken and Yolei were splashing each other in the water. Davis was looking lovingly at the cake. Demi-veemon. Upamon, Poromon and Wormon were building a sandcastle. Matt beeped the horn and they all looked up. Matt jumped out of the car. TK opened the door and looked around at the old gang. he sighed and smiled, he had missed them, they all looked older and happier. Patamon jumped off his shoulder and flew over to Gatomon. TK looked at them, his eyes slowly moved over to Kari

"she's more beautiful than I could ever imagine" he thought

He blushed brightly then looked away

"wow, did he just blush when he looked at me? does that mean he still has feelings for me?" she thought smiling

Matt pulled TK onto the beach

"WELCOME HOME!!" everyone shouted in unison

TK smiled and walked toward them. Everyone gave him a hug, accept Kari who was still in shock of seeing him. This hurt him that she didn't even say hi. They all started asking him questions. How was he? How was his mom? was there someone special in his life?

After he answered all their questions they started eating the cake. Davi gobbled up one piece, he then asked for seconds, then thirds, and then fourths. Everyone laughed at how greedy he was.

After a while TK moved away from the party, he sat on a rock and looked out at the sea, he closed his eyes, listening to the waves lapping on the shore. His mind soon wandered to Kari.

"How can I declare my love for her if i can't even talk to her? he sighed deeply.

At that moment Kari walked up to him.

"hey TK, what's on your mind?" she enquired

"uh...oh hey Kari" he blushed

"I'm just thinking, thinking of the past, thinking of the future"

"well tell me about it"

TK pulled a little brown bag out. He gave it to her.

"just take this"

He ran off. Kari watched him disappear into the distance, she looked down at the bag. she opened it. Out fell TK's D-3 and a letter. she opened the letter and read it

Dear Hikari

I'm sorry I can't say this in person I'm just too scared to. I love you. My D-3 is yours because I don't need it, I have lost my hope. I know you love Davis, but I had to say it. I love you, if have for many years.

Kari burst into tears.

"if only he had given this to her before he left a year ago" she thought sadly. she looked the way TK had gone.

"I've got to find him"

She ran off to find him.

Meanwhile back at the party Davis was wondering where Kari had gotten to, he looked around, he realised TK was gone too, the anger rose inside and he charged off down the beach.

After a while of running she saw a figure sitting on a bench. she walked over to him

"TK......." she trailed off

TK looked up, he wiped his eyes

"Kari?"

"i read the letter you gave me" she sat down next to him "why couldn't you have given me this before you moved?"

"I...I was scared you didn't feel the same way, you looked so happy with Davis"

Kari looked into TK's eyes, she could see the pain and despair in them.

"I...I...I do feel the same way"

Kari dried TK's eyes. they smiled. TK wrapped his arms round her in an embarrassing kiss. Time stood still for that moment. TK pulled back from the kiss. Kari looked into his eyes again. they were full of hope and love.

"I love you Hikari, i always have and always will"

"I love you too Takeru"

they kissed again. the passion of the kiss made TK's heart thump and the fire for his loved burned once again.

Kari looked over TK's shoulder. she stood still and pulled away from TK. Tk turned around and saw Davis standing there dumbstruck. His eyes were burning with anger. He lunged at YK punching and kicking. TK pushed him off.

"Damn you TP can't you see that she's mine" he screamed angrily

"She's not an object, she gets to choose" shouted TK back

Kari looked at them both. tears flowing down her face.

"I...I cant choose...I need time" she ran off

"Look what you've done now TR"

"I know its all my fault" he bowed his head sorrowfully "I'll sort it out as he ran off in the direction Kari went. Being a good athlete he caught up with her, he grabbed her arm and stopped her.

"I'm sorry"

"Its OK, just don't do that again"

TK put his arm round her and pulled her in close, he held her there for a while.

"How can we be together when you live so far away?" she asked

"Come with me, i can't live without you, and i don't want to loose you again"

"give me some time" she replied pulling away from him and walking off home.

TK wandered off towards Matt's place. when he got there he opened the door.

He coughed "Ahem, hello you two" he laughed

Matt and Mimi sat up and turned round to look at TK, the blushed wildly.

"oh hey TK" Matt said

Mimi fixed her hair and Matt buttoned up his shirt.

"Don't mind me I'll just be in the kitchen" he laughed again walked into the kitchen where he sat at the table, he rested his head in his hands.

"Should i phone her or should i go over?" he pondered.

Without realising it he had picked up the phone and had dialled the Kamiya's number

"Hello" said Tai

"Uh, hi, is Kari there?" asked TK

"Sure, I'll just get her"

he heard Tai shouting

"Hello?" said Kari

"Hey, i think we need to talk" answered TK in a whisper

"Sure, come round TK"

"Ok, see you soon, bye" he put the phone back on the hook

"I'm off to Kari's place, I'll be back later" he shouted as he ran out the door

Mimi and Matt looked at each other.

"The lovebirds finally find each other" they laughed

TK ran all the way to Kari's. he ran up the stairs. he rung the doorbell, tai opened the door

"Hey" panted TK"

"She's in her room, just go straight through" smiled Tai

TK wandered through and knocked on Kari's door

"Who is it?"

"It's TK"

"Come in"

TK opened the door and sat down next to Kari. In the next door room Tai and Sora had their ears to the door listening." I hope those two at last get together" grinned Sora

"I hope if they do that TK treats her well" grumbled Tai

"Stop being so over protective, just be thankful, our not gonna get Davis as a brother-in=law" laughed Sora. They continued listening into the conversation.

"Tomorrow i have to go back" TK paused "You have to choose whether you want to be with Davis or me"

Kari looked at him

"if you want to be with me come to the train station at 4pm and run away with me" TK paused again "I'll give you some time to think now"

TK opened the door and Sora and Tai feel onto the floor, TK blushed and looked at them, then quickly left.

Kari sat there for hours thinking

"How can i choose between being with TK or not being able to see my family and friends?" she asked herself. Kari looked at Gatomon, she knew that the feline digimon was missing Patamon. Kari sighed and laid down on her bed, she instantly fell asleep.

She woke up in the late morning. She got dressed and brushed her hair

"Good morning sis"

"Morning Tai" yawned Kari.

She ate some cereal then went back to her room, she had made her decision on what to do. She wrote a letter and then packed a bag. Gatomon looked at Kari with her deep knowing eyes.

"Where are we going?"

"I'm leaving to be with TK, you don't have to come if you don't want to"

"Of course I want to go, Patamon's my best friend and I'm your digimon partner, you don't get rid of my that easily" she purred.

It was getting near 3:30pm and Kari was alone in the house accept for her furry white companion. She put her letter on the table, grabbed her bag and went to the door.

"Come on Gatomon"

She left the house only looking back once.

TK sat on the train platform hoping to see Kari walk up the stairs, his heart rose and fell every time a person walked up them but it was never her.

Ten minutes later when he was just about to get on the train Kari ran up the stairs and rushed over to TK.

"I've chose, your my true love, I'm not stupid enough to let you go a second time"

TK wrapped his arms round her and held her tight.

"Come on we better get on the train"

They jumped on the train leaving the past for the future.

When Tai and Sora got home, Tai saw the letter and opened it

Dear Tai and all my friends

I've found my true love and I must follow my heart

I'm with TK now, I just cant live without the blue eyed, blonde haired beauty

Goodbye

PS: I'm sorry Davis but i found my soulmate, it was destiny

Tai smiled slightly and a tear formed in his eye

"Goodbye Kari" he whispered to himself
