"Are we there yet?!" Impmon yelled at Rika for about the hundredth time. The duo had been on a city bus on route for Rika's home. It was a long ride and Impmon had been getting quite irritating to say the least. Renamon had briefly thought of staying with them in her shadow state, but had decided against it. She had the right idea…

"Sit down young man!" a voice called from behind Impmon's seat. It was an old lady, maybe 60 or 70. Impmon did exactly what Rika had expected him to do: cause a scene.

"Why don't you make me you old bat!" the boy yelled at her. The former digimon stood up on the seat back and gave her the finger, along with sticking his tongue out at her.

"Why I never…" the old woman grumbled to herself before getting up and heading to the back of the bus.

"What, no fight in ya grandma?" Impmon spat. Rika's patience was razor thin at this point. With a fluid motion, she grabbed the boy by his shirt and yanked him back into the seat.

"What are you, my mother?" he shot angrily at her. Rika's patience snapped.

"Listen to me!" she yelled at the digimon turned boy. "If you cause us to get kicked off this bus, I'm going to…" she began. The tamer leaned over and whispered the rest of the threat in Impmon's ear. The digimon jumped up and scooted to the opposite end of the seat.

"You wouldn't dare!!" he yelped, fear pouring from his voice. The smile Rika gave him confirmed she would. Beaten, the former digimon slumped down in the seat and went quiet.

"LAST STOP!" the driver called about half an hour later. The burly driver gave Rika a nod as she stepped off, and a scowl to the purple haired brat who followed her. For all the strangeness and irritation that this new body was giving him, Impmon was enjoying his new humanity. The boy had never known what it was like to just walk right in the open. No hiding, no people screaming "ahhah! Monster!!" or "nice costume kid" or other crap. He blended in. It was a strange feeling of almost…satisfaction. Rika, on the other hand…

The digimon hadn't decided what to think of her. She was a cold little witch yes, but there was something hidden under it all. Something almost ... Something the digimon could relate to. She also made him somewhat uncomfortable. It was a side effect of his body he guessed. Shortly after her and Renamon had found him, his digimon seines had shut clean off. The digimon had come to the realization that humans had terrible noses. He could barely smell anything. His eyes were still good, if only because they were too big for a human. His hearing had dulled too. But the sense of smell bothered him mostly. Digimon relied heavily on scents and pheromones. That's why he'd always managed to find Renamon with ease. Her scent. Her sexy, intoxicating scent. That was shut off now. He had lost complete track of her since getting on the mechanical contraption called a "bus". Now, his mind was focused on his "keeper" for the time being. She wan't such a bad piece of work either. The digimon had never bothered to get a good look at the female tamer before but now, something was getting his attention. He knew what is was too. She was attractive. To his new body anyway. He was somewhat disgusted with the idea, but something in the back of his mind was telling him otherwise. No, better not dwell on that…

The bus had dropped the two of them off almost outside the city limits. It was a quite area, a place Impmon had never gone before. It was a sharp contrast to the noise and busyness of the city. The tamer was ahead of him by a bit, still fuming from the bus. His eyes had caught a glimpse of something. Almost like a formless shadow was trailing them. Renamon had apparently been trailing them closer than he'd thought. The human Rika turned and headed towards one of the larger homes in the area. It was a nice place, even Impmon had to admit that. Traditional looking. A small Japanese garden to both sides of the entrance. Trees and assorted plants arranged in attractive setups. It was a cozy little place. Rika made her way to the front door and slipped in. Impmon followed, only to run into another human.

"Oh, and who is this Rika?" she spoke softly, a strange tone in her voice. Impmon recognized it as "love" after a moment.

"Just a "friend". Rika said as she made her way towards the staircase in the side of the living room.

"Ok then. I'll send dinner up soon." the woman said. She looked to be a older human, almost like the one on the bus but not as nasty. She had an almost comforting air to her. Impmon guessed she was a relative of Rika's.
"Do you want some dinner, young man?" she said in her sweet tone. It was almost sickening to the digimon but his body was giving him a new sensation for even thinking of refusing her offer. Guilt.

"Thanks toots." he spoke quickly. The woman gave him a slightly confused look before heading into the kitchen. Impmon didn't hang around long and sprinted up the staircase. A long hall was up there. For a second Impmon was confused of where the tamer had gone. He heard Rika mumbling to herself in one of the rooms and dashed to it. The room itself almost reflected Rika's personality. Cold, but hiding things. The room was mostly muted tones of blue and grays. Nothing bright. Impmon's pale skin was the only bright thing in the whole place. Impmon's real nature shone threw as he began to explore the place. It was clean almost like big ear's tamer's place. Not having any idea of what "privacy" was, the digimon started to pick though drawers and peeking into her valuables. Rika gave little reaction, save for the fact she seemed to smell something. Heh, it's a wonder she can smell anything with that crappy nose. A sudden gust of wind came into the room as Renamon phased into the place. She gave Impmon a slight glare before checking Rika for any signs of something haven happened to her. Tamer and digimon exchanged looks and nods before concentrating on Impmon.

"So…" Rika started, "any ideas on what caused it?"

Impmon briefly thought about telling them about goggle boy, the stupid d-arc, and the barbeque he became, but decided to keep it to himself.

"Nope…" he spoke quietly. One thing Impmon gave himself credit for was his lying skills.

Renamon on gave a murmur sound, her tamer saying nothing. The room was silent as the partners decided what to do with the new human.

He was a poor liar. That much was obvious. Renamon glared at the former digimon again. It was hard to comprehend. This frail, if obnoxious child was that horn dog Impmon. A smell invaded her thoughts. It was coming from somewhere but she didn't pay it any heed. Renamon remembered her partner's description of Takato from earlier. Red skin, walking weird, claw like fingernails, a total lack of inhibitions. And now this. Finding a human Impmon spying on Rika in the park. It was connected obviously. But by what? Did Impmon cast a spell or something out of his league on Takato? Was he wearing an elaborate disguise for some stupid reason? If he was human than was Takato becoming a…No that was the stupidest of them all. There had to be a good, logical reason for this…

The smell entered the fox digimon's nose again. Ugh, what was that. Renamon exchanged a look with her tamer.

"Do you smell that?" the digimon asked. Rika nodded and looked at Impmon. The tamer walked up to the child and lifted him up.

"Yep, it him." she declared. Impmon gave her a confused look before trying to get loose. "Whada ya want now!" he snapped.

"You, my former digimon, smell!"

What?! Are you as stupid as you look? Put me down!" the digimon yelled at her. The tamer tossed the surprisingly light digimon to Renamon, who caught him easily. Rika quickly went into the bathroom and started the water. Renamon briefly phased out with Impmon and reappeared in the bathroom with Rika. Rika had the bathtub filling, with a helping of soap bubbles foaming in it. Impmon had stopped struggling and was apparently intrigued with the bath.

"What the hell is this, toots? He asked, having no idea what it was.
"This is called a "bath"…" Rika started. Renamon took her cue and quickly striped the digimon.

"Hey! You made me get those! Now you don't want me to wear them!?" he snapped at Renamon.

"Trust me," the fox digimon said. "you need it."

With that Renamon dropped the child into the bathwater.

"AHHGh! I'm gonna drown! I'm gonna drown!!" the digimon screamed as Rika grabbed him by his hair and pulled him into a sitting position. Impmon calmed down and took notice of the bubbles. Ignorant of what they were, the digimon took a handful and tried to eat it. He spat it out obviously.

"Yuk! What are you doing? Try'n to kill me??" he moaned.

"Quit whining," Rika shot at him as she pulled out a scrubbing brush and started to clean him.

The digimon turned boy stopped complaining and relaxed as Rika gave him a thorough scrubbing. The happy go lucky grin he had wasn't comforting.

"Hey! Don't think I'm doing this for your pleasure. I'm doing this cause you stink!" she said before dunking his head under the water. The digimon sputtered and gagged when he came up. Having an expression like a wet cat, Impmon shut up as Rika washed his hair.

"Am I "Clean" yet…" the digimon mumbled after a few more minutes. Tired of dealing with him, Rika answered with "Good enough…" Impmon leapt out of the tub and made a brake for the door. His exit from the tub had managed to soak both tamer and digimon. Renamon grabbed him by a leg and took the towel Rika had gotten. With digimon speed, Reanamon dried him and handed him his outfit. Impmon snappily took it and got dressed as Rika went to her room to change into dry clothes. Renamon shook herself, almost in the manner a dog would, but more controlled. Impmon started to follow Rika but Renamon grabbed him by the back of his shirt.

"Don't even think about it. You're staying with me."

Impmon started to say something but was cut off as Renamon phased with him and reappeared in her usual sleeping spot, the attic. The digimon never slept much, but it was there when he needed it.

"Hey! Why can't I stay with the kid?" Impmon asked.

"Because, I don't trust you…"

"Humph!" Impmon answered her.

"I could drop you in the Koi pond outside…" Renamon started

"No! No, I'm good…" Impmon declared.

This is going to be a loooong night…. Renamon though to herself.
