Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ The Currently Untitled Daikeru / Takedai! ❯ The Realisation ( Chapter 1 )

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any nervous breakdowns that may occur as a result of reading my story. Oh, I don't own Digimon either, is that what I was supposed to say here?
A/N: Whee! My first Takedai/Daikeru fic! It's not too good and I seriously suck at starting stories...I suck at starting chaps too, so when you're reading, try to get past the first few boring sentences! ^^; It'll get better! Daikeru, Taito, hints of Kekari and Kouyako later on.
"Daisuke! Telephone!" my mother called.
"I've got it," I shouted back, picking up the cordless phone in the hall. "Moshi moshi?" I asked. It was Takeru.
"Daisuke? Hikari and Miyako say they can't come to the meeting. Something about half-off sales at the mall. I guess it'll just be the guys tomorrow," he said. I stood there for a minute wondering why Takeru had called. He never had before, it was always Ken or Iori passing something on.
"Okay," I said finally. "Tomorrow, after school? In the computer room?"
"Yeah, of course. Isn't that where we always meet?" I could hear his smile though the phone. He has such a pretty smile, I thought suddenly. Then I blinked. Where'd that come from? I wasn't like that! Besides, even if I was, he's not....he likes Hikari....I realised I was still holding the phone in my hands.
"Gomen nasai, Takeru. I'll be there. Ja ne," I blurted, turning quite red. I quickly hung up.
"Was that for me?" my sister Jun asked, just coming in the door.
"No Jun, that was not Yamato," I said, correctly guessing what she meant. I wondered when she'd get it through her head that he did not want her. In fact, I wondered if she knew he didn't want any girls. He already had a boyfriend. Yamato and Taichi were now going out openly, but apparently she hadn't heard yet. It made me smile to think how she'd react.
I went and flopped on my bed, confused. That thought about Takeru didn't want to go away now that I had had it. Eventually, I must have fallen asleep, because next thing I knew, my alarm clock was going off. I looked at it. 7:02 AM.
"Ugh...just five more minutes," I mumbled, reaching over and randomly hitting the clock, trying to hit the Snooze button. After I did that, I rolled over to try to sleep some more.
Before I could fall asleep again, though, Jun bounded into my room cheerfully dragging me out of bed into the kitchen. The bright sun hurt my eyes.
"Jun," I whined. "Why must you drag me out here every morning?"
"Daisuke," she whined right back, mimicking me. "Why must you ask me that every morning?"
It was just a tradition, I guess. Stupid sibling thing.
I walked to school with Hikari and Takeru that morning. I hoped I wasn't staring or anything obvious, but I was taking small peeks at Takeru a lot. Everything about him seemed perfect: his hair, his skin; his eyes - oh, his eyes...they were beautiful, deep and blue. When he glanced up and happened to see me looking at him, I turned my head quickly, hoping I wasn't blushing. But I still didn't think I swung that way...
After school that day, I arrived at the computer room early so I sat down at a computer to mess around on the Internet. About five minutes later, Taichi and Yamato walked in, hand in hand. Their being there surprised me - I hadn't known they were coming, had thought it was supposed to be a younger DigiDestined's meeting. Not that I minded them being there, of course.
"Konichiwa," Taichi said to me, sitting down at a computer next to me.
"Konichwa," I returned, but didn't offer anything more. For the next few minutes, nobody said anything. Then Takeru showed up and informed us that Iori had Kendo practise and Ken had to go to the store with his mother.
All throughout the meeting (which was mostly just visiting and small talk), I kept glancing at Takeru. Every time I saw him, he seemed to be cuter. Maybe I did swing that way, after all.
After the meeting, Takeru said he had to go help cook dinner and headed home. I couldn't help but watch him as he walked away.
"Cute lil dude, ain't he?" asked Taichi teasingly, coming up behind me. "Almost as cute as his brother!" That caused Yamato to hit him with his notebook. I turned red, much to my horror. I didn't want anyone to find out yet...Yamato froze in mid-whap.
"Awwe, isn't that sweet?" he asked, "You two would make such a cute couple!" Taichi interrupted him.
"Baka Yama-kun, let him be." He turned to me. "If you're not ready to let anyone know, we won't tell anyone. Right Yamato?" There was a long pause. Taichi kicked Yamato, startling him out of his thoughts. "I *said*, right Yamato??"
"Ouch...yeah, that's right...but you should tell Takeru, he might like you back." My face was now so red, it resembled a strawberry.
"I do not like him!" I exploded, storming toward home.
Yamato looked at Taichi.
"Yep, Daisuke likes him."
