Yamato readies his gun and fires. The practicing target was shot in the head and Yamato smirks at his aim. "Another perfect hit. . ."

Koushiro shook his head. "Not really. You were just off by a bit. Probably about half a centimeter," Koushiro calculated.

Yamato shot a glare at the red head. "I don't need you to correct me," he said. Koushiro shrunk back in fear. "Unless, you want to be the target and that'll make things easier."

Jyou entered the room with a gun in hand. "Hello," Jyou greeted. "Didn't know you'll be practicing too."

"Shouldn't you be with Tai right now?" the blonde questioned. He then saw the gun in Jyou's hand and almost bursted out laughing. "Don't tell me you're going to do some shooting?"

Feeling a bit intimidated, Jyou nervously nodded. "Tai thinks I should really try and do some target practice. He wants me to at least do more than being his assistant and doctor. Like, not hiding when there's a gun fight and actually be in it," Jyou replied firing his first shot.

Yamato's jaw dropped and Koushiro chuckled a bit. "Wow. He got it better than you Matt!" Koushiro said. A bit furious, Yamato rolled up his sleeves. "Oh, by the way, where's Ken? He should've been here a while ago. Its been almost an hour since his classes ended."

"Probably having lunch with his fiancee." Yamato fired another shot. "Unless, Hikari ran off without Ken knowing. She did that last week. Ken eventually missed his meeting with Jun. I heard she had a problem with him this morning. How did it go Joe? Since you had to take over for him."

Jyou flinched in disgust. "She freaks me out. No wonder The Flares are known for being weirdos. Kari told me the same thing about her brother Daisuke."

"Really?" Koushiro inquired.

"Mm hm."

Yamato raised his gun. "Well, you can't blame them. That's why we're the best." He fired and unknowingly hit the groin. "Instant kill. No more children for you, dude."

----------

Takeru insisted on walking Hikari home from lunch. Luckily they got out on time before Miyako begins to bore them with her wedding plans. The two walked quietly towards the Yagami Mansion, keeping their personal thoughts to themselves. Hikari with her books clutched in her hands and Takeru nervously keeping his hands in his pockets.

Geez, I never knew this would be so hard. Takeru tilted his head to the side to see Hikari looking down. Why is she so down? "So. . ." he broke the silence. "Your brother and all. . . .Are you glad that he's back and taking over the business?" What kinda question was that? Good going TK!

Hikari broke out of her thoughts and looked at Takeru. "Well, sorta. He ran away when I was 5 for some reason I don't know. Its mysterious that he came back around the time my parents were killed. All those 15 years he was gone, I felt alone. With the exception of Tai's head staff, Izzy, Matt, Joe, and Ken. My parents were always busy with The Dark Slayers. Do you feel alone?"

Many thought the idea of Hikari being friends with such notorious people. Even the girl thought so herself. Ken, a once popular guy who turned bad, Yamato, who slayed his family at age 13, Koushiro, uses his brains for evil, and Jyou, an unlikely person to do such a thing.

Takeru nodded. "Yeah. Since I was 10 I became an orphan. My parents were killed and my brother. . . ." He paused at the thought of Yamato. ". . .He died as well."

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. . ."

"Its ok. I got used to it anyway."

"Do you resent The Dark Slayers?" Hikari instantly popped the question. "I mean, as in what they do and stuff."

"No," he simply replied.

"Oh. You're different than what most people would say. They would usually stay away from me because they're afraid of what might happen to them." Hikari saddened at this point. "At least at school, people do talk to me."

"Really?" he inquired. Man, this isn't going anywhere. I have to change the subject somehow. His thoughts were interrupted when he noticed the Yagami Mansion was in front of him. "So, I guess we're here."

"Yeah. Thanks for lunch and walking me home," she thanked. "I really appreciate it."

"Its no big deal. Anyway, I'll see ya!" Takeru walked off towards the direction of Mimi's bakery. A thought struck his mind. This is all or nothing now. If I succeed, I'm a step closer to becoming her boyfriend. If it doesn't work, then who knows what will. "You know Kari."

She turned around. "Yes?"

Takeru took a step closer to her and leaned in. "I allow certain people to call me TK when I'm around. You're one of them. . ." He kissed her on the cheek and slipped something into her pocket. He waved a hand back at her as he took off. "See ya!"

Hikari stood by the gates of her home dazed at Takeru's sudden action. She raised her hand to touch her cheek where he had just kissed her. The thought of it being a dream escaped her mind as Hikari smiled.

Out of nowhere she notices Daisuke and his bodyguard Iori come around the corner. Hikari snapped out of her fantasy and ran inside to avoid the arrogant brunette until she bumped into Yamato.

The blonde, with his shirt undone and jacket slung over his shoulder, looked at Hikari weirdly. "Hikari. . .you're a bit late coming home from your classes. Where's Ken?" he asked.

"He's with Yolei, having lunch and discussing wedding plans," she replied.

"So you came here all by yourself?"

Hikari shook her head. "I had lunch with my friend Takeru. He walked me home afterwards after escaping Yolei's endless ranting."

Yamato had his suspicious look on. Takeru again. What the hell is with this guy already? "So, he's your new boyfriend?"

Hikari instantly turned red. "No! Matt!" she denied. He's just a friend that owed me and wanted to take me out for lunch."

"Oh. You do remember what your brother said about people suddenly appearing in your life?"

Hikari nodded. "Yes yes. I heard it practically 5 times already! Where are you off to anyway?" she asked curiously.

"Just checking on the wife again. . ."

"You've been doing that alot lately," Hikari said. "Why?"

"Who knows? While baking, she might be busy attending to a customer and suddenly the whole place sets on fire. You can never trust Mimi with these things," Yamato replied. "Oh, I'll be sure to tell this Takeru guy that you said hi!" He knew he said that to tease the young girl, but he had the feeling that she wasn't listening.

Hikari wasn't paying attention to what he said as she head into mansion. Maybe I should watch out. Nah! TK isn't like that. I know he wouldn't do such a thing.

----------

Yamato entered the shop. He was quite shocked to see the store less crowded than before. Many of the customers drew back in fear seeing Ishida Yamato of The Dark Slayers enter the store. They knew well enough not to mess with him, but luckily Mimi was there to prevent him from killing any of her customers.

"Woah. What happened here?" he wondered.

Mimi popped her head above the small crowd to see her husband Yamato appearing at the door. "Oh! You're here! Would you mind tasting this?" Yamato took a small bite of Mimi's pastry and mentally cursed himself for eating it. "So?"

"Its great. . ." he lied trying to chew it down and swallow it. I hate it!

"Hm. Really? How come no one ever buys it anymore? I mean its great!" Mimi took a bite of it and instantly spat it out. "Ew! How can anyone love this shit?"

Yamato sweatdropped. He thought lying to Mimi about the taste would make her happy. Instead, it made her disgusted that Yamato would even like it. "You know I was kidding about how its great. I really meant to say its horrible!"

Mimi cocked an eyebrow. "Sure! I don't mind how you feel. I know deep down that you really love it. But who cares! I guess my tastebuds are really different!"

Suddenly, Takeru came in through the storage room carrying a load of boxes. He was struggling to keep the pile balanced until one fell over. Yamato quickly dashed in to catch it.

"You missed one," Yamato said handing the box back to Takeru.

"Thanks."

Yamato instantly recognized the boy from before. "You must Hikari's friend. Fuun Takeru right?"

Takeru nodded. "Yes." Unlike their last encounter, both blonde boys got a better and closer look at each other. You still look the same Matt. Not to mention you're married to a somewhat dense girl.

Yamato examined the younger blonde more closely. "You look exactly like my younger brother!"

Takeru flinched. He grew nervous thinking that Yamato caught him and already found out his true identity. "Really?"

"Except he has my eye color, blue. You have hazel." Takeru mentally sighed in relief. Luckily, he had color contacts to hide his eye color knowing fully well that Yamato would probably recognize him. "If he were still alive, he would've been your age."

Mimi knew about Yamato slaying his whole family leaving no one alive. She still accepted him and tends to ignore that fact. The only thing Yamato left out was about leaving his brother alive. He kept that secret well hidden to himself and believes that his brother already died afterwards. He doubts the fact that Takeru can survive out there on his own for 10 years.

"Well I must be off."

Just before Yamato took off, Mimi spoke up, "What? You're leaving already?"

Yamato nodded. "I was just checking up on you. Besides, I have a staff meeting to attend to."

----------

Taichi was beginning to grow impatient of waiting for his last elite staff member to arrive. He drummed his fingers against the desk with his head rested on his other hand. He finally stopped once Ken rushed into the room and shuts the door behind him.

"You're late. . ."

Ken stopped his heavy panting and straightened his clothes. "Sorry. I lost track of the time as I had lunch," he apologized.

"Oh really? Are the pressures of being both a student and my strategist too much for you?" Taichi was no longer tolerant. Being the head of such a powerful organization has changed him and he hasn't the time for slackers.

Ken silenced and shook his head. "No, sir."

"How come you left Joe to handle Miss Motomiya?" Taichi asked with a smirk. Ken was about to protest until Taichi spoke up, "No. Joe didn't tell me. I just happen to know everything that goes on around here."

The dark haired boy froze. He was stuck with nothing to say. Stupid Jun! Why the fuck she has to come here today?

"Is it either for us or for your personal pleasure that you're having a secret affair with her?" Taichi questioned him. Ken became embarrased and didn't want to speak. Yamato was laughing hard with Jyou slightly chuckling and Koushiro still typing. "I appreciate the fact that this is a possible way for us to gain more information on The Flares right now, but isn't it a sin to cheat on your 'soon to be wife'? I would've expect Matt to have an affair with her."

Yamato jaw slightly dropped in surprisement and anger as his eyes turned to a glare at Taichi. "Hey th-"

Taichi quickly took out a gun and pointed it straight at Yamato who instantly became quiet. "Shut up! I know she used to have a major crush on you Matt! Don't make me tell your wife about the time you and her got drunk and almost had sex!" Taichi threatened.

Yamato knew his best friend very well that he wouldn't dare make him mad. "Sorry. . ."

"Forgiven," Taichi replied as he turned back to Ken. "If I were you, I'd risk the polygamy and gather as much info on The Flamers."

"If you don't mind me saying this, but why not have Kari try to get info out of Motomiya Daisuke? He's more likely to spill a secret about his father's organization to kari rather than anyone else," Koushiro suggested.

Taichi shot a glare and Koushiro went silent. "Do you think I'd let my sister run off doing who knows what with that idiot? The boy might take advantage of the situation and do something to her!"

"I agree with Tai," Jyou spoke up. "I don't think Kari would even like the idea." Yamato nodded as well.

"Thank you. Now what I really meant to say is that now that we have taken over Watanabe's Printing Co. our top priority has shifted over to The Flares. Right now, there has been an increase in crimes done by them. Supposedly they came all of a sudden to deride us of our pride just when The Dark Slayers fell weak for a while. We must get as much information about their future plans as possible." Taichi then turned back to Ken. "Remember what I said, Ken. Meeting closed."

----------

Hikari sat at her small desk in her room doing her homework. For her, it was no big of a deal being one of the top students of her class. She dug into her pocket and pulled out a hair tie and tied up her slight shoulder length hair to prevent any strands of her hair to be in her way.

That was when she noticed something was odd. Hikari dug back into her pocket and found a folded piece of paper in it. She unfolded it and read the messy writing. It from Takeru giving her his phone number.

Hikari slightly blushed at the thought of having a guy giving his number to her. She may even begin to develop a liking for Takeru. "TK. . ." she mumbled. She knew right away that she liked him and that she should call him. Hikari's only problem is what to talk about.

----------

Takeru drags himself up the stairs of the apartment complex. He dug into his pockets for the keys and opens the door. Upon entering, he slowly lays himself down on the couch to rest. Shit! My arms ache.

The blonde boy never knew how tiresome carrying boxes can be for 3 hours straight back and forth. Even how demanding his boss/sister-in-law can be. The sound of his watch ringing startles him as he falls of the couch. "Dammit. What does the captain want?"

Takeru activated his watch and appeared Gennai. "What is it now?"

"Hey! That's no way to speak to your elders!" Gennai scolded with a popped vein. "Well what's going on?"

"With what?" Takeru was in no mood to talk for he barely has any energy left in him to think.

"You know! Hikari!"

"Oh, her," Takeru replied not caring at all. The name rang again in his head and jolted him. "Wait! What happened to her?"

"That's what I'm asking! What's going on between the two of you? Most importantly, did you get info on The Dark Slayers?"

Takeru shrugged. "I don't know. You be the judge of it." Gennai shot a glare. "Well, the two of us are just friends now."

"Friends? That's it?!" Gennai shrieked. "I could've done a better job than that! If I were you, I would've gotten her in just one day! Man, kids these days suck!"

"Really?" he inquired. "Then why don't you do it!"

Gennai shook his head. "I can't. I'm too old and that would just seem wrong. An old man hitting on a young girl. Duh! Now on with The Dark Slayers!"

"Ichijouji Ken is her bodyguard at school. Inoue Miyako, his fiancee, is Hikari's best friend. . ." Takeru began. Gennai nodded trying to take in the information. "She happens to have other friends, Motomiya Daisuke of The Flares and his bodyguard Hida Iori. I could get them in each of my classes to tell me what they know."

"Thats fine. Anything else?"

"Hikari told me about Ken having a secret affair with Motomiya Jun. I don't think that's important though. Is it?"

Gennai shrugged. "Just get on with your part time job!"

"Oh yes. I saw my brother there. He mentioned about a staff meeting with Taichi," Takeru finished.

Gennai nodded as if he got the information he needed. "I think th-"

Takeru's phone rang. He picked it up to hear Hikari on the other end. "Kari?"

"Uh, yeah. Hi TK. I got your number from that little note."

Gennai grew curious to what was going on. He decided to hack into Takeru's phone line to hear it for himself. "Ooh! Its Hikari isn't it? Get something out of her!" Gennai screamed out. Takeru sent a glare telling him to quiet down. "Well, just ask her!"

"Oh yeah, um. Listen Kari. . ." he began nervously. Takeru was rushing and didn't know what to say.

"Yes?"

Her tone sounded as if she was in a hurry. "Could you meet me in the Library before classes start, tomorrow?" Takeru asked.

"Alright. Uh. . .bye?"

"Yeah. . .bye." Takeru hung up as Gennai looked at him disappointedly. "What?"

"You're a disgrace! You can't talk to a girl correctly and you do need lessons on how to talk to a girl! That ending was horrible!" Gennai shouted. He then went on to imitate Takeru, "Yeah. . .bye. What was that?"

"Yeah yeah, shut up you old man!" Takeru turned his watch off and fell asleep.

As he drifted to sleep, the only thing on his mind was the meeting place. The place where he and Hikari would meet before class starts. Takeru wonders what's in store for him. Even the thought of Ken being there as well just for safety reasons. And possibly Miyako for gossip. One thing is for sure that he is definetly going to see this Daisuke and his bodyguard Iori. Another thought in his head popped up. Being forced into becoming Hikari's boyfriend.
