[ P - Pre-Teen ]

“Well, it's getting late.” Tai yawned.

“I'll go get firewood.” Mimi said, taking off her hat.

“I will too.” Sora said, taking off her hat.

“Hey look!” Matt said, pointing. “It's a bus.”

And sure it was.

“That's strange.” Tentomon replied. “Well, let's go.”

They all ran (or flew if you were Tentomon, Biyomon, Patamon, or Terriermon)to the bus, and walked in.

“Oh! The seats are so comfy!” Mimi exclaimed.

“We could rest here for tonight.” T.K said, lying on one of the seats with Patamon.

“You two can go get some firewood.” Tai said, waving a hand.

Sora scowled at him. “Fine, then you have to make the fire.”

“What?” Tai whined, but Mimi and Sora were already outside.

“Hey, Tai.” Willis said. “Do you wear those goggles when you go to sleep?”

Tai took off his goggles. “I'll take `em off for tonight.”

“Oh, I'm so hungry.” Kari said, rubbing her stomach.

“Well, tomorrow I'll give everyone some chocolate Mom gave me.” Tai said, sitting up, and trying to stay awake.

“Oh yeah, I forgot about the chocolate!” Kari exclaimed, sitting up, and breaking up a bit of her chocolate bar. “Mm... even this much is tasty.”

“Hey Kari! Save some for tomorrow.” Tai said, snatching the chocolate bar. “We need to share it with the other bozos.”

But Kari was already asleep.

Tai walked out the bus door, and looked for Mimi and Sora. He found them sooner than he expected. There was a strange light near them.

“Hey, Tai!” Sora shouted. “Come here!”

“Why are you making a fire?” Tai asked when he got there. “I was supposed to do it.”

“Yes, well. Davis accidentally caught my hat on fire.” Mimi said.

“How?” Tai asked, curiously.

“I dunno.” Said Sora. “All I know is, he tried to help.”

“Help?” Tai asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, I was trying to see if the flash light could burn a hat.” Davis said, walking toward them. “Anyway, I think your hat looks dumb.”

“You take that back, or I'll-“ Mimi shouted, furiously, but she ended with a stamp of her foot, and stormed into the bus.

“Well, you guys can sleep.” Tai told them with a smile. “Davis and I`ll keep watch.”

“Aw.” Davis said, sitting down with Veemon.

“Hey, it's your punishment.” Sora smirked, and she went inside with Mimi.

“Tai, can't we do something besides just sit here?” Davis asked.

“What are you guys doing out here?” a voice asked. Yolei came out of the bus, rubbing her eyes.

“Yolei!” Davis yelped. He ran towards her, and held her hand. “Yolei, please, don't let them make me stay out here all night!”

Yolei thought for a moment, and then said, “Okay, I'll stay out here with you.”

“What?” Davis said, dropping her hand. “That wasn't what I was expecting.”

“Oh, fine then, Yolei. You can stay out here with Davis.” Tai said, breaking a twig, and putting it into the fire.

“Hey, Tai. You know your sister?” Davis whispered.

Yolei frowned.

“Yeah?” Tai asked, smiling.

“Does she like someone?” Davis asked, carefully.

Tai laughed. “Yeah, she probably likes that kid, Willis now.”

Davis snapped. “Gosh. It's because of him I don't get my ways.”

“Hey Davis! Maybe later on you and Willis will be best friends.” Yolei shrugged.

“Ah, I doubt it.” Davis said, narrowing his eyes. “I'll never forgive him for what he did.”

“What did he do?” Tai asked.

“He got her to like him. He got Kar-“ Davis said, but Yolei covered his mouth.

“Davis, follow me, now!” She said, forcefully.

“And if I don't?”

“Then you'll be sorry for not coming!” Yolei shouted. “Now come on!”

“See-ya, Tai.” Davis moaned.

Tai blinked.

Then he heard a small noise... a smooth noise... from outside... a musical instrument...

Tai turned his head at the shore. Matt was sitting by the shore, playing his harmonica.

Sora came out of the bus. “Hey, Tai, where's Davis?”

“He's off somewhere with Yolei.” Tai answered.

Sora looked uncertain. “Isn't Yolei a-a girl?!”

Tai scratched his head. “Gee, I never thought about that.” He looked sideways at Sora, who scowled.

“I just meant I didn't think it mattered if Yolei was a girl, and Davis was a boy!” Tai said, hastily.

“Well, it does, because their only in second grade!” Sora scratched her chin. “Unless she likes him or somethin'- huh?”

Sora had just noticed Matt.

“Hey, Tai, hold on a sec. I'll be right back.” And she ran to Matt.

Tai sighed. “It's always Matt.”

Just then, Yolei came back with Davis. It looked like Davis was trying not to laugh.

“Hey, what'cha guys do?” Tai asked, standing up.

Yolei giggled. “Nothing you should know of.” She smiled widely.

Tai looked at Davis. “What about you?”

“You heard her.” He said simply.

Tai raised his eyebrow, but they would just giggle and smile more. Tai sighed, and turned away.

Matt came back with Sora.

Tai gulped.
