[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Goku paced back towards Ken. "So you mean to say Ultimanium contacted you guys too?"

"And some of my roommates, as well," Squall said. "though I'm not sure if they'll make it."

Goku stopped. "What... do you mean."

"Yeah, we're the other teams."

Goku remained still. Almost as fast as he contemplated acting mysteriously moved by the comment, he was down on the floor laughing.

"WHAAAHAHAHHAAH... You... HWWAHAHA... can't be .... AHWHAHWHAHA... serious....! Man, people like you are being thrown at the Z Team?"

"Shut up, Goku. The guy's good with a sword."

Everybody turned to find Trunks standing in the doorway. Trunks stepped in.

"C'mon, Goku, if Ultimanium knows about the Z Team so well, then he would've thrown more than cannon fodder in front of them. There's more to these children than meets the eye." He walked to the window.

"We're digidestined," Ken spoke. "We command digital monsters."

Goku sat up. "Kid, quit playing your 64 and get out more often."

Exveemon stepped on Goku's toe. "As you were saying?"

"Huzzah..." Goku's display of anger quickly turned to a sweatdrop. "Who are you?"

"The subject of the imagination of a kid who plays waaaay too much 64." Exveemon backed up, sparing Goku's toe from being crushed.

"It appears that Ultimanium is trying to create an even fight," Trunks explained. "Davis, you said that we were all being granted powers if we completed tasks?"

"I got a pretty stupid one. I came here because I thought Ultimanium was coming here to speak to Goku about his."

"It's far too late for Ultimanium to issue a challenge now." Trunks growled. "Could he have told anyone else?"

Down the hall, Gohan had a plan of his own.

"So THAT'S why you're going."

Gohan clamped the suitcase shut. "Exactly. If I quit bugging Vegeta he'll cheer up some."

Krillin leaned against the dresser. "That's not necessarily going to make him grin."

"Trust me on this, Krillin. I don't know any other way."

The digidestined said their goodbyes and stepped over to room 211.

"Hey, guys! Are you ready to go?" Davis yelled.

Gohan and Krillin stepped out, luggage in hand. They all made their way to the elevator.

Urrgghh, Davis thought. I have to do something about TK and Kari tonight if I'm ever going to finish that challenge on time. These kids are only getting in my way.

The elevator went down. Davis had to figure out something, and fast.

Ultimanium looked at his watch again. 3...2...1...

Ultimanium blinked onto Duo's screen. "Time's up, guys."

"About time," Duo groaned. "C'mon, Heero. We get down now."

Both Gundams detached themselves from the building and hovered away. By the time they got to Central Park, they could see Ultimanium in the clearing ahead of them. The mobile suits lowered themselves onto the ground. The chest plates opened to reveal the Gundam pilots, bored out of their mind.

Ultimanium grinned. "Excellent job, men. You've made quite a display up there, and more than one pedestrian wondered what the hell was going on."

Keyvan : You're telling me.

Duo climbed down. "Now, about this 'enhancement'..."

"I have a taxi," Ultimanium said. "We're going for a ride."

********

Zidane stepped into the clearing. He dropped to his knees. How could my day get any worse. I've been chased, beaten, cut...

He spotted the Gundams. "OOOOH!!"

But they were closed this time. "....hell."

A well-placed X-Potion had taken care of Zidane's nasty cut, but there was some speculation as to where he was supposed to go from this point on.

"To think we came out here for Ultimanium, and we haven't heard from him si..."

A figure far off was speaking to a man in a cape. "Alright, Ultimanium. Don't try any fast ones on us."

"No way! Ultimanium?!" Zidane gasped.

"Okay, hop in and relax." Ultimanium gestured toward the open back seat of the taxi.

Ultimanium and the pilots were around the side of the taxi, so they had no way of seeing Zidane scamper around the other side of the car, slide open the trunk, climb in, and close it with a click.

Zidane snickered.

The opening of the trunk.

"Nice try, Zidane."

Zidane froze. He turned his head slowly to see Ultimanium peering down on him. "Get out."

Zidane, embarassed and humilated once again, slid out of the taxi and plodded away.

Ultimanium motioned to the pilots as they hopped in the taxi. "I'll be back in a minute. I need a word with our friend here."

Zidane faced into the bush. Ultimanium tapped him on the shoulder.

And he gave him the talk.

"Challenge?"

"Yes. But since you insisted on being a prick back there, I've made some... *ahem*... modifications."

Ultimanium handed Zidane a small hand computer. It was a radar.

"What's this...?"

Ultimanium grinned. "Some unexpected visitors."

Zidane glanced down at the receiver. The image on it covered an area 5x5 blocks, centering on his position. There were 3 dots. They were headed straight for him.

Zidane's eyes grew wide. "NOO!!! YOU WOULDN'T!!!"

"I suggest you get moving if you don't want your friend Garnet grabbing a hold on you again." Ultimanium laughed. "Survive until I get back to get your special power."

Ultimanium turned, headed back to the taxi and hopped in. It drove off.

Zidane frantically glanced around. "No!! No way!! They can't get me!! NOOOO!!!"

Zidane rushed over and shook Cloud from his sleep.

"Huh? Zidane? What's up?"

"G-GARNET!! RINOA! TIFA!! INCOMING!!!"

Cloud rolled off the bench. "YAAUUGGHHH!! Let's get OUT OF HERE!!!"

Both men turned and split. Zidane held up the receiver. The dots banked and changed trajectory and were gaining on them.

"I... *huff* .... WILL SUR... *huff* SURVIVE!!" Cloud screamed as him and Zidane blazed down the sidewalk.

No one was aware that Squall was behind them until they entered Mimi's yard.

"Er... Squall?"

"I have nowhere to go," Squall sighed. "Zidane has the keys to the apartment."

"Geez! Can't you stay in a hotel?" Veemon growled.

"I'm flat broke," Squall said. "Please, I have a sleeping bag. I need to stay here tonight."

Keyvan : Huh? Where'd he get that?

"You might have noticed my jacket pockets are large." Squall responded.

Keyvan : Whatever.. I'm not going to bug you...

"I'm not sure how Mimi's going to take to all these visitors." Ken said. He, along with Wormmon, made his way to the steps.

"Ugghh... I'm in for it..." Davis looked over to see Yolei running down the street toward them.

"...CRAP!! Ken! Get in there and wait in my room for a second! I need to talk to you!"

"Well...ok." Ken said. He opened the door and stepped in, followed by Gohan, Krillin, and Squall.

Yolei stopped at Davis' feet, out of breath. Hawkmon hovered next to her.

She looked up. "Davis! What's going on?"

Davis went into a sickly-sweet voice. "Ohhhhh, I was talking to Ken last night, and he sounded sooooo depressed... I asked him what was wrong, and he said he was missing you! Poor guy."

Yolei went into tears. "Keeennnnnnnyyyyy!! I'm here for yooouuuu!!" She took off into the house.

Davis waited until the door slammed. With an evil grin on his face, he high-fived Veemon.

"Davis," Veemon moaned. "you are a total bastard."

Davis walked in, followed by Veemon. Veemon shut the door.

This was going to be a night to remember.
