Prologue
I ran as fast as I could down the long corridor of the palace. I could hear my high heels click loudly with each step. My breathing echoed throughout the hallway. Apparently, my crown had fallen off quite some time ago.
A sudden rush of panic had overwhelmed me. My mother, queen of the galaxy, had told me to stay within the palace, but something was wrong. She, in fact, had locked me in my room this time.
Quickly, I ran down the palace stairs. Two guards stepped in front of the doors when they heard me coming.
"We have direct orders not to let anyone in or out of the palace!" One male guard's voice echoed throughout the main entrance room.
I rounded the corner of the stairs. Both of the guards gasped when they saw me.
"Prinsesai!" One of them cried. "No." He stood stern like the other one and put his staff in front of the large doors.
I stepped one foot backwards and lifted my arm up. I held my arm firmly straight, and held my hand palm outward in my usual power blast position.
"Well then," I began in a breathy tone, trying to gasp for a little air. "I guess I'll just have to force my way out of this hell hole."
The two guards stepped back and kneeled in fear. I ran between them and easily pushed open the sixteen feet high doors. I fled down the palace court yard and, with the grace of one general movement, easily jumped over the extremely tall palace walls. I was now in civilian territory.
Usually, I was allowed to go anywhere I pleased as I was the princess of Katrabianotsu, the Prinsesai, but ever since an evil force began to attack this galaxy, my mother had taken to confining me away from the battle. I could understand, though, because my dad had died in battle with this evil force when I was eight. But now, I was fifteen. There was no reason for her to lock me in my room. I was more powerful then her in my khi. I could take care of myself.
I made my way through a crowd of Shiini, which were running in the opposite direction. I tried to jump up and fly, but it was impossible. The crowd held me down.
Finally, I busted through the end of the crowd. Just as I did, I watched my mother fall. She never got up again.
"Maifa!!!" I cried out. "Maifa, mother, mother!" I ran toward the body of my mother, but, as I did, I noticed a clocked figure hovering about her.
"Prinsesai Hoshiko." He called my name with a sinister grin upon his face. He had extremely high cheek bones and thin eyes with pools of black for pupils.
"Demion!" I screamed out. "Come down here now! Fight like the man that you're not!"
He laughed a deep throated laugh. "I've done my work for now." He began. "Until we meet again." He dipped a fake bow and disappeared.
"You son of a-" I cut myself off, shaking my fist in the air. "Come back here you coward!!" I paused and waited for a few moments. When he never returned, I knelt down to my mother.
"Its too late." My mother coughed as she stared back at me with the same sad, midnight blue eyes that I had inherited. Blood streamed out the corner of her mouth.
I smoothed back her blonde hair which eventually came to end with a curl of brunette. She had shoulder length hair, unlike I, who had ground length, golden-blonde hair.
"Mom!" I cried. "Hold on! We can heal you! We just need to get a few guards and we can get you to the healing chamber-"
"No!" She coughed again, letting more blood stream down the other corner of her mouth. "Now listen carefully I I love you Don't you ever ever forget that." She coughed once again.
"Mom, no!" Tears streamed down my cheeks. "No, don't do this to yourself! Don't do this-"
"Be brave," She cut me off. "My Little Little Lady Celestial." She reached up to her neck, then clasped my hand and slipped something into it.
I looked down. "Your sunstone!" I whispered. "Mom, you need-"
"No no I don't." She reached her hand up to my face. "With it try try to save the galaxy with it. It holds the power of your ancestors You know know that."
"But," I began. "What if I can't?"
"Then" She began. "Abandon this galaxy. Go to Earth and train. There try to to restore your lives."
"But-"
"Don't argue with your mother." She laughed a little. "Hoshiko Be be brave. I love" Her eyes rolled back and her hand fell from my face.
"Mom??!!" I cried in a slight whisper. "Mom? Mom, please!" I shook her. She never responded.
"Mom!" I began to scream. "I love you, too! Say something! Say anything, mom, please!" She still never responded.
"Mom?!" I shook her again. "Mom?? Mom! MOM!!!!!" My voice echoed through the air.
