Chapter 7: Clash of the Saiyans

Brolly looked at Gohan and had a crooked smile on his face. He felt the ki of the eighteen year old, and felt someone very familiar. He did not hate this one as much as he hated Goku, but the burning, consuming anger rose nonetheless when he put the energy signature to the person.

"So you're Kakarot's brat, I should have killed you on the false Planet Vegeta," Brolly admitted. Then he flew straight towards Gohan. The over 7-foot Saiyan drew his fist back, ready to strike the teen. He grinned as the half-breed stood there. As he got close to his prey, he propelled his fist forward, thinking he would knock out Gohan with one blow.

It was not to be however as Gohan ducked under Brolly and tried to counter with an uppercut. The shot connected under Brolly's chin and sent him several feet in the air. Brolly's groaned at the shot underneath his chin because it hurt him a little. Gohan vanished and appeared above Brolly and went in for the hammer blow. Brolly however saw this and with one turn around punch, quickly slammed his fist into Gohan's midsection. Gohan winced at the shot to his ribs. The full saiyan took the same hand and backhanded Gohan on the back of his head, sending him spiraling toward the ground.

Gohan stopped in mid air, just before he hit the deck area and launched himself at his opponent. The two warriors went into battle. They moved throughout the ocean near Luca. Most eyes did not detect the movements of the two fighters as they made a huge splash. When there forms reappeared, Gohan had a fist that hit the midsection of Brolly. The two phased out and reappeared with Brolly with one fist to Gohan's face.

"Vegeta, it would be hard for other people to believe that what those two are doing is just a warm-up," Piccolo stated toward the Saiyan Prince. Vegeta grunted, and followed the fight.

'The two strongest of the Saiyan race. One halfling and the Legendary Super Saiyan, who's destiny could be to destroy the entire universe. They are exhibiting much power for not being in the first stage of Super Saiyan yet.' Vegeta mused.

Goten and Trunks walked up to Piccolo and pulled on his pants leg.

"Mr. Piccolo, we want in on the action!" Goten begged to the namekian.

"Yeah Piccolo, we can fuse ya know!" Trunks pointed out.

"We might not need the fusion!" screamed Piccolo," you know how Gohan was when he fought Buu, before you two fused!"

"Yeah, he absorbed us and Gohan was beaten up really bad," Goten said with his head hanging down. Piccolo looked at the kid.

"That's not what I meant...I mean your brother could bring down this giant. If it becomes too bad for Gohan, then we will jump in ok," Piccolo said to the little kids.

"Ok Piccolo," chimed the two boys. They kept an eye on the two fighters.

Gohan punched Brolly in the face, hard. Brolly returned the favor with a knee to the ribs. The larger of the two tried to follow up with a backhand, but his opponent blocked it. He held the hand and kicked at him with his left leg. The leg connected with the ribs of the evil one. The one went above his head and kicked Brolly on the back of his head, sending him into the ocean.

Gohan took this time to communicate mentally with Piccolo 'Piccolo, we need to get this fight out of the city. If not we could kill all those people.'

'You're right Gohan, wait until he rises out of the water and try to lure him north. If Spira is like Earth, then it will be sparsely populated because of the ice and other things that go with such temperatures.'

Gohan hovered over the water. The half saiyan knew that he did not kill Brolly with that combo, and he could feel his ki. He followed it as it swam around, as if it had tried to ambush him.

'Wait a minute...it's going away from me and...towards...the...ship,' Gohan quickly flashed into the golden haired, green-eyed Super Saiyan and flew toward the vessel. As he went near the flying ship, Brolly came out of the water. He appeared above where Piccolo, Trunks, Goten, and Vegeta were on the Celsius deck.

The Legendary One dived downwards towards Piccolo, his fist drawn back to club him. He came downward, but before he got near Piccolo...

Super Saiyan Gohan went in front of him. The golden-haired fighter smiled as he threw his fist in an uppercut motion. The fast and powerful punch caught Brolly underneath the chin and sent him into the air. He appeared beside the soaring body and kicked him downward, heading north. Brolly was able to stop himself from falling into the ocean and he flared into the Super Saiyan One mode as well.

"Brolly if you want me, you must come and get me!" Gohan yelled as he sped north. Brolly smirked and decided to follow him. The other z fighters decided to fly off to where the two Super Saiyans headed.

Brother looked out of his clear shield on his biker style pilot seat. He saw the crew heading north.

"I think they are heading to that barren forest. The one that used to be the Macalania Woods," Brother pointed out. The woods have lost their magic completely since the fall of Sin.

Yuna walked up to the navigational globe. She looked out at the fleeing forms of the Z fighters and the new Spira villain Brolly.

"I say we follow them," suggested Yuna, "they may need our help."

Brother looked back at Yuna with a shocked look on his face.

"Yuna, are you crazy? You forgot what that thing did to Bevelle single-handedly. He leveled it to the ground!" Brother yelled at her. Rikku stomped toward her brother, put her hands on her hips, and glared at him.

"You stupid moron, What if they needed people to heal them! Hell at least we can help that way can't we with our White Mage Dress here!" Rikku shouted," not to mention Yunie's Trainer and Mascot Dresspheres having great healing capabilities!"

Paine stood near Shinra's station and thought about Rikku's suggestion. The more she pondered, the more it seemed to make sense to her.

"Well Rikku, if we can't beat the thing...well we could keep the strength of the Z fighters up with our White Magic, and well...I wonder what a good Ultima spell would do to him...probably not much, but I'm willing to try." Paine agreed.

"Then it's settled...we help them!" called out Yuna clapping her hands and jumping up and down. Brother just groaned and pulled the throttle forward. The engines began to roar and zoomed out of Luca at breakneck speed.

Gohan and the others went through the sky, with the enemy at their heels. The clouds went by and the ocean seemed to be speeding by, as if in a blur. Brolly was only following them, not chasing them because he knew that he would get his prey eventually.

'Well, the son of Kakarot is taking me somewhere where there are no people for him to worry about. I would normally just kill everything in sight, but I feel like a good fight today, and as long as they are no people around I will get one. I am the Legendary Super Saiyan. Gohan has felt my power once and he will feel it again once we stop at this place.' he thought.

'I just hope Brolly has enough patience not to attack. We both are at Super Saiyan One, but I wonder if he will become that large, ugly monster, he was back on the false Planet Vegeta. If he is, I will be ready for him, for I too have a form past Super Saiyan. I may not be able to turn Super Saiyan Three like dad, but I have a power-up that's even greater than that in my arsenal. Super Saiyan 2 will be enough when he becomes that really huge, muscular form, unless somehow Brolly is able to go into the full Super Saiyan Two like Vegeta and I. In Ultimate Super Saiyan he might be able to withstand me for at least a while, but he would lose. Ahh....Gohan you think too much, just feel out the fight and see where he goes, and then power up according to that,' Gohan mentally spoke to himself.

Piccolo began to hear that same engine sound in his ears again. 'Great, those girls are following us. Don't they know that they would just get in the way! Well, cannot say we didn't warn them. Stupid girls!' Piccolo screamed at himself in his brain.

Vegeta flew beside Gohan, but kept his mouth shut like the rest. 'I hope that I can be of use against the monster. I acted like such a coward the last time we engaged in battle against him. Sure, I joined in late in the battle, but no excuse can justify the way I acted seven years ago. I paid too much attention to the myth that I heard as a child by my father. Kakarot was able to hold him back, and if Gohan wasn't fighting him, I would gladly take him down myself. I, like Kakarot's son, have ascended past Super Saiyan, into the full-fledged Super Saiyan 2. I trained that boy when Kakarot was gone, and I continued training him after he defeated Buu with the Genki Dama. Kakarot chose to stay in Heaven for a while.

Meanwhile in Heaven...

Baba and Goku were with King Yemma and he has his huge projection TV on the battle between Brolly and the Z fighters. Among those with him were Auron, Jecht, and Lulu holding her little one.

"Looks like my son is taking him to a less populated area, good idea son!" Goku cheered.

Baba looked over at Yemma and tapped his stomach. It was the only part she could reach on the gigantic ogre's body from the desk.

"Yemma, how about we make a wager," Baba suggested.

The red ogre looked down at the little witch.

"What sort of wager?" Yemma asked her, with a hint of suspicion in his voice.

Baba pretended to think for a moment before clearing her throat.

"If Gohan and the Z fighters defeat Brolly, then Goku becomes alive again," Baba stated. Goku heard this and couldn't believe it.

'Wow, I'm going to return back to life again! Yippee, I get to see my kids again! I get to eat my wife's cooking again. I love her rice balls, her chicken dishes, her fried fish, the noodles she makes, not to mention the Turkey's and the Pies she makes for dessert..'

"And what if Gohan and the others become obliterated at the hands of that monster?" Yemma questioned to her.

"Then...then I will give up my own life," Baba replied to the ogre. Everyone in the room gasped at this, even Auron.

'She must have a lot of faith in the boy. If anything I've seen of this skirmish is any indication, this fight will be interesting to say the least.'

Jecht watched and couldn't believe it like the rest of the group watching the fight. "I can't believe what Baba said. If they die, she dies, but I guess Goku over there will be happy if Gohan stops that monster."

'Those kid's are lucky to have such a good old man. Lord knows I haven't been any good to mine. I'm just glad that we are patching things up with him. He can't be here watching this fight because... (laughs)...because he's in the 'Heaven Blitzball Tournament. Now let's see what develops in this fight,' Jecht thought. He went back to watching the fight.

Gohan flew on until he went over the area of dead trees and ice. The magical Macalania Woods with the sphere trees vanished before Gohan even arrived.

"This is as good of a spot as any to stop!" Super Saiyan Gohan shouted to everyone within earshot. The fighters stopped, hovering over the dead trees.

"So brat to Kakarot's whore, you think that being in a less populated area will help you in beating me, hardly!" shouted Brolly tauntingly. Gohan inwardly seethed at that comment about his mother, but managed to keep himself under control.

The fighters lowered down onto the snow and ice-covered ground. Gohan and the other fighters older than him landed onto the snow. The two kids planted there feet on the ice...bad mistake.

Trunks and Goten slid on the ice into the building. The little half-saiyans collided into the building. The snow fell onto them from the roof, and covered them in a mini-hill of snow. The two small one's popped out, covered in the white powder, looked as if they were white snow saiyans, shook it off, then went into fighting stances.

"Trunks, Goten, don't fight unless no other choice is present," Gohan instructed. He knew he couldn't tell the older fighters what to do.

"But Gohan..." both kids protested.

"Just listen to me for once, ok guys," Gohan replied, not looking at them for fear that Brolly would sneak attack him. It wasn't above Saiyans to blindside an opponent when it suited them. Gohan learned that lesson from Vegeta one day in the Gravity Room.

"Ok Gohan," murmured the two half pints.

Brolly and Gohan charged at each other. The two Super Saiyan Ones collided, both arms locked together. The two tried to move each other in a test of strength. The ground shook as the two fighters tangled. A crater began to form as their kid's rose higher and higher during the test of strength.

The two fighters separated and leapt into the air. The two charged at each other in the air and began fighting. Gohan punched the titan on his face and knocked him back a few inches. Gohan came in to follow up, but Brolly responded with a kick on the ribs and elbowed him down toward the frozen lake. The teen stopped just before he went through the ice and flew back upward to attack the evil Super Saiyan. Brolly disappeared before Gohan could hit him. He looked around for the monster.

'I wonder where that bastard went too. I can feel his ki, but it's moving around all over the place. Wait a minute...he's coming straight at me...now!' Gohan disappeared as Brolly was about to smash him on his head, point blank with a ki blast. The green ball landed on the shop. After about a second energy came out of that shop. The Z fighters flew away from the shop before it exploded. The thing made a crater out of the snow, ice, and some of the woods.

Gohan went just above him. He lifted his arms; his hands went onto his forehead. The blast charged up onto his palms. Brolly turned around, saw this, and was surprised.

"Masenko-Ha!!" Gohan called out as he fired the blast at direct range onto Brolly. Brolly made contact with the blast and went hard into the frozen lake, causing a huge hole in the ice. The water went up and down onto the frozen sheet.

'Wait a minute, did I...did I kill him?' Gohan thought as he watched the lake intently, looking for any sight of Brolly coming out of the ground. He turned his back and went to fly toward the Z fighters. The group was in the air on the bank where the shop once existed. As he flew, he began to feel a rumble. A huge ki spiked beneath the ice. Green and white light began to break through the ice.

An explosion came from the ice, sending shards of it everywhere. Gohan had to cover his face because of the sheer speed and force that the ice went toward everyone there. Out of the water rose Brolly, his power rising dramatically and himself in a ki bubble. It was as if he were the very beast that would kill the universe. The man-monster looked at Gohan and began laughing his sick laughter.

Then his power rose upward. Blood vessels began to appear within his eyes as he screamed out. The power rose within him, and his muscles began to bulge. They kept on going until they were at least five times their normal size. His biceps became as large as the largest oaks on earth's forests. His thighs and legs grew just as big and the shoulders increased to twice as big as basketballs. His neck bulged to make it look like the neck didn't exist and his blond hair took a greenish tint. The scariest thing was his eyes as his pupil's disappeared, as if to mirror his blind rage. An explosion came out and smoke covered the field.

When the smoke cleared there, the monster stood. He looked like he gained 300 pounds of muscle in four seconds, his ki much stronger than it was when he was a Super Saiyan. The increased ki startled all of them as he burst into his laughter.

"Who wants to be the first of my victims!" he growled out to his opponents.

The airship had just made its way to the scene. Shinra launched a couple of flying commspheres from the ship, through made out ports just beneath his station onto the battlefield. The two machines zoomed in on the Ultimate Super Saiyan Brolly.

"Yuna, I think that those fighters are going to need the white mages soon," Shinra pointed out as he viewed the man-monster. Yuna and the other two girls ran up to the viewer.

"Yunie, I think Shinra may be right," Rikku said to her cousin.

Yuna nodded in agreement.

'We must help them,' Yuna thought as she began to access one of her garment grids.

"Alright, YRP!! Let's change!" shouted Yuna. The three girls stood in position and accessed their dresspheres.

Yuna's gun went into the air and disappeared in a white light and she leapt into the air. A golden light appeared on her as the White Mage costume formed onto her. Her staff appeared on the ground as white feathers popped out where it appeared. She picked it up and put her hands behind her back with the staff, and smiled. The hood on the white outfit with a rainbow patterned trim covered her face somewhat. White boots covered her feet.

Rikku had a similar outfit, but it had a hole on her hood so that her hair came out. The staff was different looking than Yuna's, but had the same purpose and came out the same way.

Paine went to her Alchemist dressphere. She had on goggles on her forehead and what looked like an air powered black machine gun with many small gadgets on it. The outfit had a black armor-like thing all over it with black boots and red, blue and yellow jumpsuit.

"Y!" Yuna called out and put out her hand.

"R!" Rikku called out and placed her hand on top of Yuna's.

"P!" Paine placed her hand on top of Rikku's.

"Go! Gullwings!" they called out. The three women ran out of the bridge in a hurry after that. They were determined to run out and help them anyway, they could.
