Ch.3

Michael entered the room first, investigating the labratory they were in.

"Samus, come here." said Michael.

"What is it?"

"Look at this! I think your hunch on the Space Pirates doing something new was right." said Michael.

"Yet, this isn't like them...I've never seen any creatures like the ones that they are fusing together with!" said Samus.

"Whats the matter, Samus?" asked Ash as he entered the room.

"You wouldn't happen to know what knid of creatures those are, would you?" asked Samus.

"Those are pokemon." said Ash.

"Oh my..." said a horrified Yugioh.

"You mean to tell me that they're fusing space pirates with pokemon?!" said Ash.

"Unfortunetely, it seems as though Giovanni has come up with a new fusion technique..." said Michael.

"But, why would he use pokemon?" asked Joey.

"I'm not quite sure..." said Samus. "But, whatever it is, it can't be good!"

"As if STEALING them wasn't bad enough, now he's fusing them together with space pirates!" said a furious Ash.

"Yet, WHY? I don't know why they would use pokemon to fuse space pirate DNA...It just doesn't make any sense..." said a frustrated Yugioh.

"Ash! This is just a hunch, but do you think that they're fusing them together to get their POWERS?!" asked Joey.

"Its likely that may be the cause, yet its too soon to determine that on an assumption." said Ash.

"You're right..."

"Samus! What do you say you and me scan anything that looks important? Who knows, we might learn something useful!" said Michael.

"Sounds good to me!" said Samus.

"Samus, you scan this floor, I'll scan the top floor!" said Michael.

While the two hunters are scanning the computers, Goku and Gohan are investigating one of the specimens.

"Samus!" shouted Goku.

"What is it!? I'm a little busy!" said Samus.

"I think you better come take a look at this! This doesn't look like the space pirates you're talking about! This specimen looks like..." said Goku.

"Like what?!" asked Samus.

"A Saiyan!"

"What?!"

"Vegeta! He must be a part of this operation!" said a furious Goku.

"So, Vegeta, Giovanni, and Ridley are in this thing...That doesn't bode well..." said Samus.

"Well, what do we do now?" asked Joey.

"We hunt them down...We wipe them out!...We do it now!" said Michael.

"Well, where do we start?" asked Yugioh.

"We need to find out where the pirates main research labratory is! I'm sure they got some kind of new weaponry that we could use! Maybe a new arm cannon beam?!" said an excited Michael.

"Maybe, maybe not...But, we need to find out where Giovanni is! If we can find out where HE is, then we SHOULD be able to find out where RIDLEY is!" said Samus.

"Sounds like a plan! Lets do it!!" said Sonic.

Michael blasted a portion of the wall off, revealing a hidden passage, and inside was a chemical research facility.

"Lets investigate!" said Gohan.

"Quiet! There's some space pirates here..." said Samus.

"Let me try something, Samus!" said Michael, sneaking closer to the pirates.

"Whats he doing?" asked Joey.

"I don't know...I've never seen him this enthusiastic about a mission..." said Samus.

"Is that so?!" said Joey.

"Well, I've been teaching him for seven years now, and we've been on dozens of missions...yet, I sense an eagerness that I've never witnessed in him before. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that he failed his last mission, after he accidentely released the last metroid in the world from its statis cell...Maybe he's trying to make up for it..." said Samus, who could only ponder in deep thought.

"Okay! Its safe now!" said Michael as he ran back to Samus carrying a strange device in his hand.

"What is that?!" asked Ash.

"I just scanned it, and its a pretty interesting device!" said Michael.

"Well, what is it?!" asked Sonic.

"Its a new beam upgrade! Its called the fusion beam!" said Michael.

"Fusion beam?" said a puzzled Samus and Yugioh.

"Yes! Its a beam that works like a fusion chamber! It fuses two organisms into one! I don't know how reliable it is, though, since it was just made a few deca-cycles ago..." said Michael.

"I guarentee you that this must be their plan on fusing Ridley..." said Goku.

"You're right! This device does the fusing process with no complicated steps! This is a more efficient way, and since Ridley is such a prized organism, the space pirates would not DARE do anything that could jepordize it!" said Samus.

"Well, now that we've found out what they intend to do with this beam, we can find a way to stop their plans!" said Ash.

"I'm afraid, however, that this isn't the ONLY secret fusion device they have...They wouldn't have left it here for us to find...It was as if they WANTED us to find us." said Michael.

"Good point." said Sonic.

"Well, we better get going, before the pirates discover our find!" said Yugioh.

"Right...Giovanni, I WILL find you..." said Ash. "And when I do...heh, heh, heh...you WILL pay for your crimes..."
