Chapter 4

What have I done?

I left you so I could run,

Now I'm alone in my dim light,

And now your smile is a rare sight.

A Week Later

Trunks had made it clear that he didn't feel the same about him. And even though he knew this, it still hurt to hear him say it. It hurt. They would never be the same. \\ I was foolish, to believe in such things. // His heart was in anguish, but its advice held strong. You're giving up? That makes you a fool, can't you see he's scared? You're the one to make the move.

They no longer spent more time with each other then they had to. Goten missed Trunks calling him Chibi, he missed, sparring with him, he missed going dancing with him, he missed everything about him. "Trunks." A tear slipped down his face as he said the lonesome name into the night. Gohan could feel his brother's pain and decided to do something about this whole problem. He knew deep down that they both loved each other, they just didn't know it sooner. "What can I do?" Gohan asked himself. \\ I have one choice, and that's set them up. //

Trunks Room at C.C.

Trunks sat in his room reading Shakespeare, "To thine own self be true and it must follow as the night the day thou canst not then be false to any man." Trunks read from the book. He put his book down and thought of Goten. He missed him dearly. \\ Why did I hurt him? // Trunks sighted and went to his window. It was raining. \\ I thought it was for the best… was I wrong? I miss his smile, the feel of his hair. What the hell?.. When did I learn the feel of his hair? // "Oh what the heck, I should just say it already," Trunks mused to himself. I miss my chibi much to much. Trunks paused. SAY IT! His mind seemed to scream. "I love him." A great weight seemed to lift from his heart as he said the words for the first time understanding their meaning of love.

With out you… I'll never be whole.

Trunks looked out the window, he was scared of his feelings. How could he love someone when he was scared of that love? As he watched the rain he had a flashback.

Flash Back

"AHHH!!!" Goten screamed as a streak of lightning lit the bleak sky and thunder rocked the house. "Goten, it's just a storm." Trunks said shaking his head. "He has not learned the lesson of life who does not everyday surmount a fear." Goten repeated softly over and over.

"And just who told you that?"

"Gohan did the last time there was a storm." Goten replied rather proudly.

"…"

"He said that it means, every body has a fear, some find out what their fear is in their early life, others in their later life. Some are scared of heights, some of storms, some of speeding cars and such." Goten paused. "Reciting it helps me not be so afraid."

"Oh…"
