A Place to Run

Okay, don't ask. I'm not going to tell you what goes on in the story but I am going to tell you that, yes, this is a Bulma/Vegeta fic again. Their my specialty ^_^ Anyway. I hope you have fun reading it.

The sunset looked beautiful from the window of Bulma's lab. She sighed, knowing that she wouldn't go outside to enjoy it all from being cooped up in her lab doing experiments for Vegeta's Gravity Chamber. She worked day in and day out on the new parts and could not figure out why Vegeta hated it so much. Maybe it is the fact that an earth woman was doing it and not Saiyan hands. She grunted at the thought of him as a Saiyan Prince. He demands everything and gets what he wants, but then she came to think that he is practically homeless and it is the only polite thing to do. She chuckled to herself. Bulma, be polite to Vegeta? That was crazy as she put it, then continued work on the prototype.

Vegeta lay on the grass on a hill with his hands behind his head staring into the sunset. His Gravity Chamber was -Out of Order- as the Earth woman put it and he needed to stay out of it for the night. What was he going to do for training in the mean time? Beat up a woodland creature?! He sat up and smirked to himself. That really didn't seem like a bad idea to him. He placed a hand on his chain and caressed it like a smart collage professor with glasses would do when stumped on a problem or finding one to think about. He chuckled to himself and plopped back down on the grass. The woman would kill him if he killed an innocent creature, but then again, no one could kill him but that annoying Kakarrot, but she would not finish her "Project" for his Gravity Chamber so he left it out of question. He sighed of boredom and placed his hands behind his head again. His stomach began to growl as he looked down and rubbed his hand over it. He chuckled to himself. He got up and brushed off any grass from his back and started his way back to the main house.

"Aw, SHIT!" Bulma yelled when pricked with a wire. She held the bleeding finger to her mouth and emerged it inside, sucking on it to get the bleeding to stop. She heard a knock on the door and turned swiftly to it to see who it was, it only turned out to be her mother and she turned back to her work, cutting the copper wire that cut her. Her mother giggled and propped herself up against the doorframe.

"Bulma honey, Dinner is ready."

"Why bother eating when the prick Vegeta is going to eat everything in sight."

"Now, don't talk about a guest like that Bulma. It's rude."

"Who's being rude mom? Not me that's for sure. I'll just have an apple I'm not hungry anyway." Mrs. Briefs sighed and walked away from the room, leaving Bulma grunting with every cut she made.

Vegeta walked in the main house, looking around for the annoying Earth woman, then smirked when he found her nowhere in sight. He sat down at the table and picked up his fork and waited for Mrs. Briefs to walk in and feed him his dinner. Since she was nowhere in sight either he started to get a bit frustrated. He really did not like fending for himself but since no one was there to give him his food, it really wasn't an option to him. He saw the food on the counter and stared at it with the rumbling of his stomach to talk to him. He set down his fork and growled to himself as he got up and started his way to the counter. He glared at the four plates on the tiled surface, the one on the left was obviously his because it had the more food on it. He smirked to himself, thinking that this baka woman knew that he needed more food to get stronger. He took his plate in his hand and started his way back to the table. Once settled into his chair, he saw Mrs. Briefs walking down the staircase shaking her head in disapproval and looked to see Vegeta had already gotten his plate. She smiled and went to grab hers and brought it to the table and sat down on one end right next to Vegeta. She glared at him in disgust as he ate his food. She tried her best to ignore him and nibbled at her ham. Dr. Briefs walked down the staircase from his lab and stared at the two eating in front of him. His eyes ignored Vegeta's eating and focused on his wife. She looked up at him and smiled.

"Hi honey. Grab a plate and start eating." She said. She stuck her fork into the mashed potatoes and started eating that as well. Dr. Briefs nodded and grabbed his plate, taking it to the table and sitting across from his wife. He started to eat his ham when he noticed Bulma missing.

"Where's Bulma?" He asked. Vegeta grunted at the sound of her name and continued eating.

"She's working on a project and is not hungry right now. She's eating an apple for dinner."

"Humph, that woman starves herself to much. I say she should have been done hours ago on my ultra bot." Vegeta stated. The two looked at him oddly. He never said anything at the dinner table, let alone stay there when they were there. They both sighed and began to eat again, only to hear the sound of a chair pulling back. They looked to see Bulma sitting with her head resting in her palm and an apple in her free hand, taking a bite out of it and letting out a sigh. Her parents looked at her closely to figure out if she was having trouble with her "project" and wanted to help. Bulma looked up and smiled to them.

"Don't look so surprised to see me mom and dad. I'm here eating aren't I?" She asked. Dr. Briefs nodded and continued eating his ham. Mrs. Briefs chuckled and set her fork down to folded her hands in front of her.

"Well Bulma. How's your project coming along?" Bulma let her smile fall a bit, but answered anyway.

"Well I'll tell you this, all I need to do is placed the memory chip in it. Then you can train tonight Vegeta." He grunted and got up from the table, leaving his plate behind along with his mess. Bulma sighed and took one last bite of her apple and through it away and returned up stairs to her lab. Dr. Briefs sighed and looked at his wife.

"Those two will never get along no matter what the circumstances." He stated. Mrs. Briefs just smiled and dabbed her mouth with a napkin and leaving the table, collecting Vegeta's plate along the way. Dr. Briefs sighed from being alone and got up from the table and took his plate to the sink along with Mrs. Briefs.

"There, all done." Bulma said with a smile on her face. She checked out her new creation to see if any problems would occur while Vegeta was training, like she would care anyway. She noticed nothing wrong with it and took it in her arms and started her way out of the lab, running into Vegeta in the hallway. Her Ultra Bot was held onto tightly in her arms as she stumbled back from the impact with the Saiyan. She looked to see Vegeta standing in front of her with his normal scowl looking face and she grunted.

"Be careful you ass! You almost made me drop your bot." She said. Vegeta's scowl changed into a smirked when she said `His bot' and placed one hand on his hip.

"So you're finally finished huh?" He asked. Bulma loosened her grip against the metal bot and nodded.

"But I have to install it into the data base in the Gravity Chamber since I've equipped it with a new memory chip that the computer does not know." She started her way down the hall with Vegeta following her. She walked down the staircase and to the front door, opening it slowly being careful not to hit the bot and walked outside and to the Gravity Chamber. She reached the door and pressed in the code to enter. Once inside, Bulma set the prototype down on one of the chairs and walked up to the computer and started pressing buttons. Vegeta crossed his arms and watched Bulma as she pressed button after button trying to get the memory into the database. Vegeta grunted with frustration as she took her time with the computer. Bulma turned to grab the bot and noticed Vegeta grunting and she smirked.

"Is the little Vegeta to impatient?" She asked. Vegeta glared at her and let his hands fall to his sides.

"Shut up woman. I'm not little." He stated. Bulma laughed and walked up to him, placing a hand on his head.

"Hm, you look little to me." She said. Vegeta growled at her and shook his head to get her hand off of him. Bulma chuckled and went back to the bot, picking it up and setting it on a small table to scan the memory chip.

"You've got to calm down Vegeta. There is no need to get mad."

"Only when you're around." He said. Bulma shot her head around and glared at him.

"So you're saying that I'm the only person to get you pissed off is that it?"

"Well if you put it that way, yes." Bulma growled in anger at him.

"Vegeta, just be glad that I'm doing this for you instead of just saying no and sending you on your way."

"I never said you HAD to do this. You wanted to. Besides, your creations suck. They are in no use for anyone."

"Then why are you using them Vegeta? You're using this Gravity Chamber which I had a help in building and keep re-building it because you can't win against those STUPID bots."

"You can't seem to fix anything right because every fucking time those bots come out, there is something wrong with the computer system and screws up my training."

"Oh, there's something wrong with the computer system?!" Bulma stated she turned to the computer and glared at it. Her hands balled up into fists as she raised her arm and started punching the computer like it was some punching bag. Vegeta sat in amazment as she tore up the computer and turned back to him taking in deep breaths holding the main cord that hooked up the computer with the ship. She threw it down and smirked.

"Now, theres something wrong with the computer Vegeta." She said standing in front of him. Vegeta grew furious towards her, looking at the wrecked computer.

"Why you," He started before he was interrupted by a slight rumble. "W-what the?" He stated before the ship began to shake uncontrollably. Vegeta began stumbling backwards, but regained his ground and tried his best to stay in one place. Bulma was another problem. She moved about with the rumbling, than fell forward into Vegeta's chest, letting out a slight thump as she knocked Vegeta over and onto his back. Vegeta lay on the ground with Bulma on top of him still as the ship came to a stop and everything was still. Bulma's faced lay buried in Vegeta's chest as Vegeta took in deep breaths. He looked down at her, then pushed him off of him and got up.

"What the hell happened woman?" Vegeta asked. Bulma got up and shook her head.

"I-I seriously don't know Vegeta." Se said. She glanced over to the window to see that they were still on Earth so they didn't take off in space. She sighed in relief that she didn't have to spend time with Vegeta in space and started for the door. Vegeta stood, staring at the computer, watching sparks fly all over the place and hearing Bulma's foot steps walking past him. Bulma reached the door and pressed the code on the little pad to get out, no response. She stared at the pad and pressed the code in again, no response. She growled in frustration and began to pull on the door, hoping it would open that way, still nothing. She let her hands slip off the door as she took in breaths, now afraid that she would never leave this stupid ship. She hit her hand against the door and let her head lightly rest upon it. She heard a voice on the other side and smiled.

"DAD! IS THAT YOU?" She yelled. She heard a grumble, then a yes bringing a smile to her face. "What happened dad?" She asked.

"Some one must of messed with the computer because it was out of control." Bulma grunted as she heard a chuckle behind her.

"How long till we can get out?" She asked.

"Hm, well from the looks of it, you can't get out because I can't open the door from the out side."

"yes dad. I can't open it from in here either, but how long until we can get out?"

"Hm, well, I have to be very careful with the controls out here, so I would say about a week, maybe two at the most." Bulma's eyes grew wide as her heart started to thump with fear. Two weeks with Vegeta? This wasn't good. Vegeta grunted.

"That's foolish old man. I can just blast us out of here." Vegeta stated.

"No Vegeta. If you put any source of energy to the ship it will explode. So I suggest that you just stay calm and let me do all of the work." Dr. Briefs.

"STAY CALM! I CAN'T STAY CALM KNOWING THAT I HAVE TO LIVE IN HERE WITH A KILLER DAD!" Bulma yelled. Vegeta growled and balled his hands into fist at aimed them towards her head.

"Bulma, you have to trust me on this one. Now I suggest that you start making yourselves comfortable. You'll be in there for 14 days at the most, or least, there is no telling from the amount of damage." Dr. Briefs stated. Bulma sighed and turned to an angry Vegeta and glared at him.

"Thank you Vegeta. Thanks to you, I had to have a tantrum and ruin the room." Bulma said, walking away. Vegeta growled, knowing that he would not be able to train under any gravity until the ship was fixed and they were out. He walked to the small ladder and started his way down, catching Bulma's attention.

"And where are you going Vegeta?" She asked.

"Bed." Vegeta stated going down the ladder. Bulma growled at him as he left. She sat in one of the seats and sighed. She then sat up with confusion in her mind.

"There's only one bed."
