MNK:...and it congeals. The song in this chapter comes from the albumen 2112, and is called Tears. It was written by a Canadian musician named Geddy Lee, and performed by his band, RUSH. I know this cliffhanger is cruel...but the story continues in Bitter As Molasses.
“Me…Melaza?” Kaioshin stuttered. She loosed another tear, but stood straight and tall, tail thrashing in anger.
“Well, aren’t we the brilliant one?” she spat poisonously. “Yes, it’s me----Ambrosia Melaza Mielle D’Lica.” She growled and stalked closer to him. She slapped him, nearly breaking his neck. “I thought I could trust you! I wasn’t in the hospital wing because of Wysty…I was sick because I gave two table spoons of blood from my tail. I nearly DIED just so you’d LIVE!” Shin gasped. Could it be? “Oh, Hazel didn’t tell you? That potion that separated you and Kibito made you both MORTAL! Without that potion, you’d have died in a year!” Shin was horrified. True, he hadn’t had to shave since the potion, and his hair was a lot fluffier, and he felt young again, but still…
“But WHY, Ambrosia? WHY?!” She snorted.
“You made me transform and you saw my bad side. You remember the subsequent times you saw me during the day. You were terrified, and you hated me. Don’t even bother to deny it! I’d have revealed myself when the time was right, but NO! you stood in the Great hall and NECKED with someone you believed to be my sister!”
For fourteen days, Shin refused to leave their room. Ambrosia’s possessions had been packed into a small bag of capsules, and shipped to her home in Beebalminus, up in the far North. Shin spent most of his time in the dark, crying, lying on her side of the bed. He didn’t eat, he didn’t sleep, he didn’t bathe----he didn’t leave the room. His life was over. He’d finally found a mate, and she’d left him.
On the fourteenth day, the elder Kai, Rou Kaioshin, came to visit him. He was touched by the young man’s misery, and sat on the edge of the bed. Shin lay sprawled on Ambrosia’s side of the bed, tears streaming down his cheeks. He’d grown thinner, and his hair hung limp. Rou shook his head and sighed. Normally he was a rude, cynical, grumpy old man, but he and Delilah had spent time together and he’d learned to be a bit more kind. He gently gripped Shin’s shoulder. “sit up, boy.” he muttered. Slowly, Shin sat up, and rubbed his swollen eyes. “I know you miss that little gal…” Shin sniffed and glared at him.
“She’s no ‘little gal.’” he mumbled. She’s over 350 years old…older than you.”
“Indeed? Well then, that young lady. Even so, I thought you were wiser than this. Moping never did anyone any good. However, this will.” he pulled from his pocket a small, silver hoop earring. He handed it to Shin, who seemed confused. “This is a gift from Kibito. It was made by Ambrosia’s Lican sister Calypsiana. Wear it and you can assume any form you wish. Now are you going to just sit here and cry like a baby, or are you going to go win her back?” Shin thought for a moment, and a determined look crossed his face. He pointed to the floor. Out of thin air, there appeared a set of clothing that could easily be mistaken for the kind the Deirana wore. A heavy grey gi with a white belt, and a heavy cloak of black wool. He put them on and began packing his possessions, while Rou left, smiling. He capsulized everything, and tucked the capsule case into the inside pocket of his cloak. He clipped on the ring. It’s time to take action…
Chapter 11: Is This The End?
Ambrosia had a record on in the living room. Wysty was in her crib in the corner, and Shin was bringing up Orana, Kibito, Kitty, and Piccolo. What Ambrosia didn’t know, was that Trunks had a crunchy twelve zeni bill in his pocket, and he was out to make mischief.* All of the seasons, all of the days. All of the reasons why I’ve felt this way, *
so long…so long…
It was one of her favorite songs. Ambrosia leaned back on the couch with her arms crossed behind her head.so long…so long…
* Then lost in that feeling, I looked in your eyes. I noticed emotion and that *
you had cried----for me…I can see…
Shin and friends sauntered through the door into the room lit by a fire of blue, purple, and green, and took their seats. Ambrosia stood and Shin flung his arms around her, pulling her into a dance along with the rhythm.you had cried----for me…I can see…
* What could touch me deeper----tears that fall from eyes that only cry? Would it *
Touch you deeper than tears that fall from eyes…
Trunks flipped the light switch and ran.Touch you deeper than tears that fall from eyes…
* …that know why? *
Everyone gasped and slammed their eyes shut as the light blinded them. Ambrosia caught the brunt of it and cowered beneath her arms. Shin could only stare. He pushed her from his embrace and she fell to the floor. It was as he feared. Her flesh was pale and pearly, her hair of a silvery lilac. She struggled to her feet as her deep black eyes over flowed. A tear fell from her eye.* A lifetime of questions, tears on your cheek. I tasted the answers and my body *
was weak…for you…
Ambrosia stood proudly, staring at him with rage. She hadn’t noticed Trunks.was weak…for you…

* The truth… *
“I’d forgive even that, as it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t let my hormones take over my senses, but you betrayed my trust with a simple 60 watt bulb!!”* What would touch me deeper? Tears that fall from eyes that only cry? *
Ambrosia reached into the crib and pulled Wysteria into her arms.* Would it touch you deeper, than tears that fall from eyes that know why? *
The tears were now streaming down her cheeks. “I loved you, Supreme Kaioshin! I still love you, but you are dead to me now. Never let your shadow darken my doorstep in this life or the next!!!” With a final tear, and a look of betrayal, Ambrosia leapt through the open window and flew off into the night. Kaioshin was distraught. His hands fell to his sides, and the shoulder of his shirt slid over. Around his neck was a platinum chain. On it was a platinum ring, etched with a delicate vine. The tears began to fall uncontrollably. His plans had been ruined----by Trunks. He’d been planning to propose marriage. Now, the chance was gone, and there’d be no other.For fourteen days, Shin refused to leave their room.
