Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Amara ❯ A Lover's Rage ( Chapter 1 )
Chapter One- A Lover's Rage
All the test results had been to Marek's liking. Amara was in good health and she felt just as strong as ever, if not stronger. She had also gotten the majority of her memory back.
She went to the window of the spaceship and peered out at Earth. It was a beautiful planet. She hadn't expected it to look this nice. She needed to find a suitable place to land her ship without attracting the attention of too many earthlings.
She found a vacant patch of terrain and landed the ship. She opened the hatch and stood in the doorway for a moment. It was a nice day outside. The sun was shining; there were only a few white, fluffy clouds in the sky. Her surroundings were tranquil and made her want to sit back and relax for a while.
Suddenly, she felt and enormous burst of ki, as if someone were powering up. She turned in the direction in which it had come and flew towards it. Something told her the energy had come from one of her fellow Saiyans. She wasn't too far from the location she was seeking, but she decided to pick up speed.
She watched as the figures of two men began to materialize in front of her. She landed on the ground, quickly and cautiously made her way over to them.
One man was standing up on a hill. He looked a lot like Marek, so she assumed that he was Marek Sr.'s son. The other looked like a young man her age. She found it strange that his hair was the color purple.
"Hello, Saiyan," Marek Jr. said.
*That man is a Saiyan? Impossible!*
The purple-haired Saiyan had fallen into a fighting stance. "I don't know who the hell you are or what you want, but it wasn't right for you to attack me while I was relaxing in the grass."
"Quiet, you insolent brat!" Marek Jr. yelled. He threw what looked like a capsule at the purple-haired Saiyan.
The teen held up his arm to block against it, but it landed a few feet away from him.
"Nice throw," he said, sarcastically.
"Why yes it was," Marek Jr. said.
The teen looked down and the capsule began to emit some kind of pale mist.
"What the hell!" The purple-haired Saiyan fell to his knees and began to cough.
"Shit!" Amara cried, running towards the teen.
She ran over to him and knelt on the ground. She pulled his head into her lap, but he didn't stop coughing. He looked at her wide-eyed. He was coughing so violently, that it was hard to hold him.
Amara looked up at Marek Jr. "What have you done?"
"Amara?" he asked. "My love? What are you doing here? How did you get free? How did you know I was here?"
"Your father sent me," she said. "He sent me to eliminate you!"
Marek Jr. grinned. "Oh, he did? Well, it won't be as easy as it sounds, my love." He laughed.
It was then that Amara noticed another spaceship off in the distance. An army of about thirty men emerged from the ship and charged in Amara's direction. They began shooting ki blasts at her.
Amara tried her best to protect the young Saiyan from the blasts. He had fallen into a state near unconsciousness and his breathing had become ragged.
"Hold on, kid," Amara said. "Somehow, I'm going to get us out of here alive. I couldn't be there to help against Frieza, so I'm sure as hell not going to let you die in my arms."
Amara held out her hand to try and ward off the ki blasts, but there were just too many. She was being bombarded!
"Aaaah!" she cried, trying to summon more energy.
Amara held onto the teen with her left arm and tried to defend them both with her right. She felt a large incoming ki blast, but it wasn't aimed towards her, it was aimed towards the army of men.
There were screams as the world around her was enveloped in whiteness and she held onto the teen and squeezed her eyes shut to block out the light and wind.
When she could see again, she saw that the army of men were all sprawled out on the ground. She turned and saw the three mysterious men standing behind her. Two older men and one who looked about her age. The younger one rushed to her side and looked down at her and then the purple-haired Saiyan.
"What have you done to my friend?" he asked.
"Friend?" Amara asked. She stood and slowly let the purple-haired Saiyan's head rest on the ground. "Take care of him."
He knelt beside his friend and Amara watched Marek Jr. as he began to speak. "Well, what do we have here? More Saiyans?"
"I'm Goku. What is your business here?" one said.
"Oh, just to annihilate you," Marek Jr. said with a throaty laugh.
Amara was squinting hard at the other man whose name had not been mentioned. As she looked at his face, more memories arose in her brain. "Prince Vegeta?"
He looked at her then and everyone else stopped talking. Vegeta looked at the woman and his eyes widened.
"Amara? No, it can't be," he said.
Amara flew over to him. "Is that really you, Prince Vegeta?"
"How is this possible?" Vegeta asked. "You look the same. I remember…"
~FLASHBACK~
Vegeta a child was running down the halls of the palace. He could hear Nappa calling his name from behind him. Vegeta laughed and stepped out into the sunlight.
He ran down the path to the garden and turned back to see if Nappa was close. He ran into someone and the force knocked him on the ground.
"Hey!" he said, looking up.
His eyes met hers. She was beautiful. She had mid-length, jet black, spiky hair. She had a rich tan complexion. She was wearing Saiyan uniform, which consisted of a skin-tight, black bodysuit; thigh-high white boots and gloves to match that came up to her elbows.
"Why, hello little prince," she said to him. "What's got you in such a hurry?"
"I don't want to take a bath," he said, stubbornly.
She smiled and picked him up. "I like to take baths. They're nice and warm and relaxing."
His face twisted into a frown and he squirmed in her arms. "Not me!"
"But you'll look so handsome after you've washed all the dirt from your face," she said. "You'll be a clean, little prince."
He looked at her. Just then Nappa came running down the path. He stopped short when he saw her.
"Hey, you're Amara," he said. "One of the advisor's daughters."
She nodded and set Vegeta back on the ground.
"I'm sorry," Nappa said. "He got away from me."
Her demeanor changed completely. "Well, you should be more careful," Amara said, placing her hand on the prince's head. "What kind of guard can't keep track of the prince? Anyway, we had a nice little conversation about bathing." She looked down at him. "I think he'll cooperate now."
Vegeta nodded.
"Thank you," Nappa said. "I'll be more vigilant this time. Good bye."
She waved to them as they walked off and Vegeta took one more glance back at her. She was the first woman besides his mother who he had ever deemed as pretty.
~END OF FLASHBACK~
Marek Jr. laughed. "You run to his side, but what kind of prince can't protect his own planet?"
Amara turned. "He was just a child, I remember."
"Forget about all that," he said.
A voice interrupted them. "Uh, guys, Trunks doesn't look so good."
Everyone turned to look at the teenage boys. Trunks was lying on the ground. There was blood running from the corner of his mouth.
"What have you done to my son?" Vegeta demanded.
"Your son?" Amara asked. She frowned and spoke to the other teen. "Get him out of here."
He looked over to Goku, who nodded. He picked up Trunks and flew off.
"What do you think you're doing?" Marek Jr. cried. "Don't help them!"
"Go to Hell!" Amara spat out. "I'm just disappointed that I didn't try to stop you sooner. What have you done to that young man and why?"
He grinned. "That mist? It was an invention of mine. It taps down deep into the Saiyan DNA and lethally mutates it. And why? I was obsessed with you. My father was trying to keep me from you, so I hired someone to kill him. Then I realized if I set you free, you'd probably go out looking for Saiyans and you wouldn't want anything to do with me. So if I could kill off the remaining ones, you would be mine."
"You bastard!" Amara shouted.
Suddenly, she was standing in front of him and had her hands wrapped around his throat.
"Where's the antidote?"
He smiled and managed to choke out. "I'll never tell."
She released his throat and punched him in the stomach. He landed a few feet away from her. She moved to stand over him and lifted him off the ground a little by his shirt. "I'll be forced to kill you then."
"Go ahead," he said. "I'm not afraid." He smiled. "But if I can't have you, no one can!"
Marek Jr. thrust his hand upward in the direction Amara's stomach. Amara gasped and looked down to see his hand gripping the hilt of a knife.
Marek Jr.'s eyes widened when he saw that the blade hadn't even pierced Amara's armor.
Amara laughed. "You're going to have to try a lot harder than that."
She tossed him a few feet in front of her and raised her right hand. "Good bye." Her hand begin to glow as she formed a ki ball and launched it at Marek Jr.
She turned away from him and noticed a few of the men from before had picked themselves up off the ground.
Amara was getting tired of Marek Jr. and his men. She stood with her feet shifted slightly and closed her eyes. She raised her arms into the air, fingers apart. She let a series of ki blasts rain down from her fingers. It wasn't a wild attempt to kill the men because she had control of every ki blast she let go.
After all the men had fallen she turned and entered the spaceship they had arrived in.
"Stay here," she said to Goku and Vegeta.
"Kakarot, did you feel that?" Vegeta asked.
He nodded. "She's got an impressive ki for someone of her age."
"Yes and with the little training she has probably received," Vegeta added.
Amara walked down the halls of the large spaceship. She wasn't sure where she would find the antidote, but the best guess was the medical room. (A/N: Duh!)
She heard footsteps coming towards her down the hall.
"Hey!" a man called out, firing a gun at her.
She deflected the bullets with one hand and kicked the man. He fell against the wall and she shoved her hand to his chest.
"Where can I find the antidote to Marek's little invention?" she hissed.
"You mean SAS?"
"What?" Amara asked.
"Saiyan Annihilation Serum?"
"Yes, whatever it's called! Where's the antidote?" Amara yelled.
"Well, I think it's…"
"Show me!" She moved away from him.
"Yes, ma'am."
They began down the hall. He led them down a long hallway until they came to the room he desired. He opened the door and they walked inside.
The room was large and clean. There were many electronic devices in the room that were all sparkling and shining like new chrome.
He opened a chrome-plated box and cool air came out. He pulled out five vials filled with a blue liquid. He held them out to Amara.
The sticker on the side of each vial said, "SAS antidote."
"This is it? You know this for sure?" Amara asked.
He nodded. "Yes."
"Good," she said. She gathered a few more things from the ship and shoved them in a canvas bag by the door.
"Later," Amara said, walking away.
A few moments later, she was outside again. She tossed one of the vials to Vegeta. He caught it and looked at the blue liquid.
"This should be the antidote," she said. "Take it to your son. I'm sorry about all this."
Vegeta nodded.
Amara could hear people coming up behind her.
"Look out," Goku said.
"I've got it under control." Amara smiled and shot a ki blast behind her without even turning. The spaceship along with its passengers exploded. The wind pushed Amara's hair forward.
"Come along with us," Vegeta said to her.
She nodded and they took off into the sky. Amara looked back to see the ruins of Marek Jr. and his crew. The ruins of a man whose love was in vain.
